Brad & Angelina to do the Cannes Cannes
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are set to open the Cannes Film Festival on May 16 in France with A Mighty Heart, produced by Pitt’s company, Plan B.
“The story unfolds like a mystery,” said Jolie, who plays Mariane Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl. “You’ve got people collecting clues and trying to solve what happened. But it’s also very real and personal. We didn’t want it to be too melodramatic or too polished. We didn’t want it to be a typical movie.”
Says co-star Dan Futterman (pictured), “It would usually take about five minutes before people would figure out that it was Angelina. So we ended up shooting a lot of the exterior stuff in five-minute increments.”

Never frustrated by meaningless ppl to me. She did not audition for it and get it; she was casted because she is shacked up with the producer. Never said she wasn’t a good actress, which would be your negative thinking on my behalf. Boy you took a lot of negative from a very short statement; do you often do that much thinking on other ppl’s behalf?

What do you mean you said nothing negative? You said she was “shacked up with the producer”. The term “shacked up” does indeed have a very negative conotation, suggesting an unseemly and sleazy arrangement. So by using that term, you set the tone for negativity. There was heavy implication in your post that something sneaky and underhanded had taken place that led to Angie being cast. Tp was not remiss in her response to you.

Thanks for feeling my pain. I like GC and MD, but I don’t know if I’d take the time off (I work nights) to see them. I would only do it for Bradley and Angie, or just Bradley. Oh well, just my luck … or lack thereof.

I think people should remember that both Brad and Jen had their assets divided. Plan B went to Brad because that’s his baby and he won the rights because he was the only one that read the book. Since assets have been divided and Jen went away with her own share, it is unfair to Brad for anyone to attach Jen to his projects. It just one of the things that tabloids lie about. Everyone should move on.

FYI what? - Brad will not attend the premeire in Chicago because he will be in Prague. That will be the first of many premeires’ for O13, he will be in Cannes for another. What’s the big deal. Oh yeah? did you ask yourself why Al Pacino is not attending too?

There are pictures MP in Namibia with Angie and Brad while Angie was still pregnant. There was also a blurb about them meeting with MP in Paris. You don’t know when Angie met MP or who is friends with who for how long. MP herself said Angie is friend of hers. Maybe MP isn’t as hung up on race as you obviously are.

Angelina Jolie will play Mariane Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, in a movie produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B production company, Pitt has confirmed to PEOPLE.
“The film will focus on the deep collaboration between people around the world in search of Daniel in 2002,” Pitt tells PEOPLE. “We hope the film can increase understanding between people of all faiths and portray the story and the people involved as honestly as possible without anger or judgment.”
Contrary to reports claiming that Pitt’s ex, Jennifer Aniston, was earlier cast as Mariane Pearl, a rep for Pitt and Jolie tells PEOPLE, “Jennifer was NEVER attached to that role. When the project was first brought to Plan B, Jen was a partner in the company at the time.” Pitt has been developing the project with Mariane Pearl for two years.
The film will be adapted from Pearl’s memoir, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl, which chronicles her experience after her husband was abducted by Islamic extremists in Pakistan in early 2002. A month later, his captors released a video depicting his murder.
Pearl, a French journalist, was pregnant when her husband was kidnapped and gave birth to their son Adam in May of that year.
“I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book,” Pearl said in a statement released Thursday by Paramount Vintage. “I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to.”
The film will start shooting in the fall. It is Jolie’s first dramatic role since the May 27 birth of her daughter with Pitt, Shiloh Nouvel.
Earlier this week it was reported that Jolie will lend her voice to the DreamWorks animated feature Kung Fu Panda, in the role of Tigress, a martial arts teacher. The film, due next May, also stars Jack Black.

You would like to think they are not friends but you do not do these things if you are not at the very least of friendly terms.
There are pictures of Marianne Pearl and her son with the Jolie-Pitts in Namibia. Apparently they became friends at one point. Anne Rice had no problem saying that she did not think Tom Cruise would have made a good Lesat in the movie based on her book. So if Marriane had issues then she could have spoken up. Marianne is light skinned. Also , maybe another reason Marianne agreed with the choice of Angelina playing her is because of Angelina’s UNHCR work and her passion in general for the less fortunate around the world. She probably spoke to Angelina and saw that she had read the book and along with Brad really wanted to tell this story.
One more thing. The dress Angie is wearing is a replica of Mariane’s wedding dress. She had two. This was the second one.
The L.A premier is 2 days before the Chicago one and Brad will be there not in Prague. Brad is not the kind of man that doesn’t show up at premiers because he’s “pissed” with someone, he’s very professional. He must have other things to do.

Mariane and Angie took their son to a toy store or museum once. I don’t recall the place but recall it was in NY. Maybe someone could find the pictures that they were together with their boys. So, Mariane knew Angie even b4 she was pregnant with Shiloh.
I was just at that site . I don’t see any photos of Angelina.

Brad and Angelina’s careers are thriving… so we get posts about favoritism, jeopardy to their children’s well-being, and possible racism, nevermind the fact that actors like Eddie Murphy don’t get accused of the same when he depicts a non-black person (Coming to America, Nutty Professor, Norbit)…
Is that it, or should we expect more shoddy arguments about what these two people do?
