i just seen angelina in a dylan hartung website, a kid stricken w/ cancer and is is fighting to beat it. he met angelina thru nicole kidman, as one of the kid’s wishes is to meet her (jolie) in person. he said , she is his ultimate cheeky babe..lol

I keep reading about people who object to Angelina playing Marianne because she looks black and she does have some black blood in her and Angelina doesn’t.

But do people understand that this movie is NOT about a black woman losing a white husband. It’s about a woman who lost her husband because he was a reporter who was in Pakistan and got beheaded by the Pakistanis. It didn’t make her pain any greater or less just because she looks Black and had a white husband. And how that would not affect how Angelina portrays those emotions.

Do you understand that this movie is NOT about a Black/Puerto Rican/ Chinese/ French woman who was looking for justice for the death of her White husband? This is about a woman who was pregnant and went in search of finding the justice for her husband.

Jennifer Lopez, a Puerto Rican playing Selena, a Mexican is a DIFFERENT story because in the movie, it did deal with how there is a prejudice against Mexicans. And how Selena’s father was a Mexican who worked in America to support his family and their financial situation was poor because they were Mexican immigrants and trying to make it in America.

Kirsten Dunst getting flack for playing a French queen would bring flack also because their is long history between Americans and the French and it isn’t the greatest. So for her to play one of the most well known French figuers from history and getting criticized for is understandable.

My POINT is that the movie about Selena and Marie Antoinette does have to do with their ethnicity, race and the country they are from.

The story of Marianne Pearl is about a pregnant woman who lost her husband and was trying to find justice.

Those people who killed Daniel Pearl killed him because he was an American Journalist. As far as I know Futterman and Jolie are both Americans. And Angelina Jolie is part French like Marianee Pearl, so she would be able to pull off a French accent. Also because she is a mom and just give birth herself, she can relate Marianne being pregnant back when she was in Pakistan looking for Pearl’s killers.

Renee Zellwegger didn’t get flack for playing a Brit in Bridget Jones’ diary.

Halle Berry is NOT getting flack for playing a White woman in an upcoming movie.

These women are NOT being criticized and neither should Angelina Jolie.

This is why I love this site!!! All the naysayers’ accusations (like that poster who was alleging that Mariane and Angie only met at the shooting of AMH and they are not friends) are summarily dealt with with pictures and links not from tabs but reputable sources. Also that false rumor about Jennifer playing MP. After these links/pictures are posted, these naysayers all clam up!!! Don’t cha love it?

I agree that we should be discussing their projects and not where they are now. who cares? There are so many exciting things coming up and there’s this one who keeps asking where they are now. It’s most likely an undercover taboid writer because no one needs to know where they are NOW unless you are a tab or paparrazzi who wants to get the scoop. Sheesh.

I don’t understand why you have an attitude? I merely pointed out that I wasn’t hater and you respond like that? This couple stand for so much and do such wonderful things and they have fans like you? Maybe if you weren’t so focused on the posters who bash this couple, you could better determine the ones who don’t.

I guess one can turn the table around and said that Brad “shacked up” Angie to get himself som high quality cheap labour. The discussion is so silly, they were already together with children when Angie decided to take the role. Hypothetically even if they were not together, I guess Brad will be jumping high up in the air the moment Angie expresses her interest in the role.

AMAYA - missed it - had to take hubby to ER for incredible foot pain (we were there for HOURS and still don’t know what’s wrong with his foot!) Will catch the rerun this evening.

Well we do know from photos both were in LA earlier in the week. If Brad is in NO he probably has to reshoot a few scenes.

at the moment there are very few women in hollywood who can really relate to what Marianne Pearl is all about and fortunately angie is one of those few that MP could be really proud of as a woman. If any of you has read her articles regarding women (she writes every now and then in Glamour) you would see her fight against the sometimes marginalized but mostly courageous women. they might not be close friends but I am sure both women admire each other’s life work (MP n Adam her son were with them in Namibia). It would be very interesting how she will handle this role. Angie is a women now how has so much to live for and the thoght of losing even a portion of what she has now (family) would destroy her completely (God forbid)
