Hugh Jackman’s New Pet Bird

Family guy Hugh Jackman manages a sunny smile despite the gloomy weather on Sunday in Darlinghurst, Australia.

The X-men star and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness picked up a new addition to their growing brood - a pet cockatiel (an Aussie parrot)! Chirp, chirp.

The cowboy hay-wearing couple then headed off down the freeway with son Oscar, 6, and daughter Ava, 21 months to stop off at a fruit stand to purchase some fresh mangoes.

Earlier in the weekend, Hugh, 38, helped trucking billionaire Lindsay Fox celebrate his 70th birthday at Fox’s Elizabeth Bay mansion by performing many of the numbers from his Broadway stage show The Boy From Oz.

Birds make very good pets. I’ve got a few and they’re just lovely.

Deb looks really pretty and Hugh’s not bad either. ;) Cute family!

Thanks for the great pics Jared. That is one gorgeous, buff cowboy, Hugh is really getting into the look. And what an adorable, happy family, even Deb is getting into the cowboy spirit. Great to see Hugh is just a regular guy, he shops with the family and shleps his own bags just like the rest of us.

For me, that’s most of the attraction. He does “normal” stuff, not acting the “star” bit and he clearly cares about his family. Of course, those arms - *THUD*

Wonder if that bird is really for them? I can’t see them taking it all over the world for movie shoots, etc. and there’s a lot of regulation for taking pets into and out of countries. Other than that - looks like Hugh is getting into “the mode” for filming “Australia” in a few weeks - he’s been wearing that cowboy hat since he arrived back in Oz, and it looks like we are going to see one buff stockman!!!

Ohh too cute, I mean the cockatiel, we have had two so far and they are the sweetest birds on this planet :)
