NEW NAMES? Well, there will be none in the May 4 issue of Time, set to spring on the waiting world, celebrating the 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Most likely we’ll know everybody who shows up on May 8 for the magazine’s gala at Jazz at Lincoln Center. It’s always one of the year’s most enlightening and entertaining events.

My much admired friend managing editor Richard Stengel won’t say who is on the list. But I know we’ll find the wildly popular and inspiring Elizabeth Edwards (wife of presidential candidate John Edwards), Queen Elizabeth II (we can say without equivocation that Helen Mirren really upped Her Majesty’s image). And then there’ll be Simon Fuller (no, not Simon Cowell). The first Simon is the man who created Great Britain and America’s “Idol” TV programs. I’ll add “The Secret” author Rhonda Byrne and Brad Pitt, who is an actor, producer, activist and consort to a goddess. I have to admit I’m drawing a blank on the other 95.

Time claims you can still volunteer your own favorites online. They are “open” to reader’s suggestions. Does this mean Sanjaya Malakar will get some votes?

YOU ALREADY know about record ty coon Ahmet Ertegun’s farewell cele bration taking place last week in the Rose Theater at Columbus Circle. About 700 people crammed in for the farewell to the Turkish/American phenomenon who created Atlantic Records. Ahmet was given a farewell that, had they charged for it. would have been the blockbuster box-office hit of all time - almost three hours of the famous from Phil Collins to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Eric Clapton, Dr. John, Solomon Burke, Sam Moore, Kid Rock, Stevie Nicks, Ben E. King. And my favorites - the Manhattan Transfer. Not to omit a touching appearance by Bette Midler as a kind of classy emcee, doing “Princess Papoolee Has Plenty of Papaya; She Likes to Give It Away!” Bette appeared throughout giving a warm, witty and sweet touch to the proceedings.

Oh yes, and Mick Jagger, the piece de resistance at the end. He was cute. Most of the speeches were good, heart-felt, some a trifle dirty and funny. Oscar de la Renta did well, so did a clearly emotional Jann Wenner and best of all - surprise, direct from L.A., the record mogul David Geffen himself. Who knew he was such a dynamic speaker? I tell you these billionaires can be surprising. David looked great, too; he should dress up more often.

I wondered if people were aware that the handsome bearded man who rose to speak briefly was Oscar-winning movie director Taylor Hackford who had organized the show for Mica Ertegun, Ahmet’s elegant widow.

So who was the fabulous-looking blonde in white sitting next to director Hackford in the third row? Hmmm - does his wife, Helen Mirren, know Taylor was out with such a winner? (Oh, it was Helen! But, of course.)

AT THE after party in the Boathouse of Central Park, Madonna’s p.r. lady Liz Rosenberg (she is almost as famous as Madonna) came up to introduce Stevie Nicks. The blond and adorable Stevie said she just felt she had to tell a few tales about Ahmet as well as sing, and this made the evening go a bit long. Everybody wanted to pay tribute. Me, too - Ahmet was one of my favorite people.

LOVE MY mail, even when it doesn’t make sense. Here’s a postcard, no re turn address. It reads: “Will Smith, ‘Greatest Actor . . . Duh? Do you base that on his ‘Snakes on a Plane’?”

First, I never wrote that Will was the greatest actor, although I think he’s pretty wonderful. I said he is the biggest box-office star in movies today. He is!

Second, Will Smith was not in “Snakes on a Plane.” I believe the star of that stinker was Samuel L. Jackson.

THE PEN Literary Gala on April 30 will boast every big name who ever lifted a quill or sat down at a computer. Tina Brown, Larry Kirshbaum and Virginia Mailman are running this at the Museum of Natural History. Tim Russert is emcee. Gore Vidal, Barbara Goldsmith, Salman Rushdie, Bob Caro, E. L. Doctorow, Henry Louis Gates, Tony Kushner, Fran Lebowitz, Frank McCourt, David Remnick and Gay Talese will all appear. Call (212) 629-8748.

As far as The Changeling and State of Play, they’re both being done by Universal. So, they would work with both their schedules if Angelina really wanted to do The Changeling.

She would have a window of Sept to Nov and Eastwood is known for shooting very quickly but I doubt it’s going to get done this year with Angelina in the cast.

Plus, her manager Geyer stated she’s only scheduled to work 40 days this year. That’s “Wanted”

Grazer and Howard have 2 other big proyects this year, The Changeling most likely
will start production next year. As for Atlas S, the movie is still in scripts phase, if they start filming it won’t until fall 2008.

Fincher is going to be in Cannes in mid-May, the Montreal BB shoot is in LATE May. They do have these things called airplanes ya know….

lurker-angelina was on time’s 100 influential list last year, this year it’s brad-they kept it in the family, it’s all good.

I went on time magazine website, I think Angie will of course be on the list as week, cause she listed and highly ranked on the canidate list. Brad seems to be on the list as well not as highly ranked as Angelina. Does it matter? They are both doing good that is all that counts.

For many months now, I’ve been a lurked on this site from time to time. No one believes the tabs these days. But after reading Ritzygal’s comments about Angelina and her interactions with her children, I feel I’ve gotta say something - whether or not any of you might believe me.

I’m not an actress or any sort of high powered executive in the industy but I’ve worked with Angelina more than once. The nature of my work is such that I do visit her at her home and spend several hours with her each time. I’ve seen her interacting with all her children and I can guarantee you she and Brad are loving and attentive and affectionate to each of their children and with each other.

I’m willing to bet that Ritzygal has not spent any time with Angelina and she just made up her comments in this thread.

BB is still filming. After Prague “Wanted” production will move to L.A then will shoot some scenes in Chicago in July.

I used to buy anything with AJ/BP/Family on the cover but thanks for letting me know. From now on, I will buy only legit magazines like People.

Sorry dude but you didn’t correct anything. We haven’t seen any pics from the set of BB for 11 days now. The movie is in Post-Production. So that means that Brad might have already finished his part in the movie and now they want some additional exterior shoots. And if Fincher goes in Montreal,he is simply required to be there because he is the director. As it is already known Brad and Angie will be at Cannes in LATE May to promote their films and then they will go back to the States to continue the promotion in early June.

As for Beowulf that will indeed be out in November 2007 the point is that Angie has already done the movie since 2005. So the only project she will really work on is only one and not four as some want to suggest.

And that’s not “insider info”. That’s common sense.
