Pax is Now a Pitt
Brad Pitt is on his way to becoming Pax’s official daddy.
As expected, partner Angelina Jolie filed legal papers to change the name of her newly adopted son to Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt.
Angelina adopted Pax, now 3, last month from a Ho Chi Minh City orphanage.
A legal petition was filed Monday in Los Angeles County Superior Court by Angelina to include “the last name of her partner” Brad Pitt.

Nobody took the ‘breakup rumor’ seriously other than sick haters and the bible they devour: 2nd rate tabs. I like that Jolie-Pitt go about their lives and show the world through their actions, rather than crying on Oprah’s couch responding to each and every rumor. I think they just laugh it off until it gets out of hand and bothersome for their work and lives. Well done, Jolie-Pitt, as usual.
Ok…..I don´t really know when it started- but I´ve totally lost my friendly feelings towards Angelina.
I really liked her in the beginning (2000- 2005), she was cool, she looked way better than now, she was wild and not so damn annoying.
There are alot of things that lead me to further dislike her, though listing it will simply take too much time.
The adoption of this new kid really sealed it for me.
Not only is she adopting way too fast, but this kid is seriously disturbing their family relations.
(Now, don´t toast me for saying this…..this is my opinion, I´m sure you all have your own as well)

Congratulations to them. Just by pure coincidence , after I read this news on Jared I put the radio on and heard the end of a lecture by Angelinas advisor Dr Jeffrey Sachs. He’s doing a series of lectures for the BBC on world issues and specifically poverty. I think that the fact that the JPs associate with people like him and focus on these kind of issues and their family life rather than the tabloid tittle tattle and spite written about them says it all about them IMO. They know what’s important.

I don’ think so, Shiloh pics right now are not as hot as last year, the same with Suri. After they released a lot of “candids” of her this year while they were living in NOLA the price went down A LOT. As for Pax, the pics of him are not that “wanted”. If anything will see more “candids” of the kids while they are in Europe later this month but not more photoshoots. Since AMH will open limited released the promo will not be as much like TGS. Also, I don’t think we’ll get too much info about Shiloh’s birthday, since neither of her parents released info about the celebration of the other kids birthdays.

Actually the sells of tabbies have nothing to do with Angie. It’s about those that are willing crawl into the gutter to make a few $$. But in the end who really lost out? Not Angie, it was the idiots that bought the lies/forked over the bucks and who print them. Afterall they are the ones with egg on their faces — No Brad leaving, instead we get the name change and adoption in the works. So let tabliods carry on because it will be them on the losing end.
As the saying goes — ‘the best revenge is living well’. And by gosh that is what the Jolie-Pitts are doing. Living life on their terms and people like you are haters can’t stand it. Angie doesn’t want or need a publist — if she did she would have hired one a long time ago. The thread got polluted when TLC brought JA up (sorry girl but it’s true). How much longer before your brain will detach the X from everything that Angelina and Brad do? Oooh slightly OT but maybe relevant (ish) last night I saw a documentary about the running of a magazine, Grazia. I would say it’s the equivalent of a US tabloid. Anyway they seemed to get most if not all of thier main stories by scouring the Internet, reading other publications and gossiping amongst themselves. There was a halfhearted attempted to show that they had some ‘insiders’, a phone call from someone who knew someone who else who knew Madonnas trainer- but that was it! So ironically the basis of most tabloid stories seems to be a bunch of women mostly (I’m sad to say) gossiping, then printing and passing on their ridiculous unfounded conclusions to a much larger bunch of gossips and er…that’s it! Of course I suppose they do get some stuff correct sometimes and the pics are good but for the most part I say cut out the middle man- I’m just going to get the info from other sources and make my own mind up.

I’m not surprised that this is how Grazia operates - or any other tabloid for that matter. These rags appeal to people’s most base behaviour to gossip and spread malicious untruths. I recognize the name of that rag because I recall that occasionally we will see pictures of the JP’s here that are from their publication. At least they tend to pick out better pictures than some of the American rags. I’ve just never bought in to the garbage they spout and ironically I find more ‘hard news’ from the fans here through the many great links they post - on a celebrity blog site!

Good News= Great Day for the Jolie-Pitts.
They should be in Prague within a week or so according to articles about the Wanted shooting schedule. Can’t wait to see some pixs of them there, or if not, in Cannes on the red carpet. May looks to be a wonderful month with lots of opprotunities/events/pixs for fans to enjoy.
I suggest that those of you who get upset/worried about negative tabloid stories just take a deep breath and say to yourself “This too will pass”. Just don’t read it. Brad and Angelina are living their lives their own way, have managed to get some privacy, and it’s all good for them. They respond to those stories that might affect the kids and ignore the others. So what if a tab manages to sell copies and the truly ignorant believe the lies that are printed. Some people can be fooled all the time, and anyone who believes any of the unsourced trash printed in a tab is a fool. The tabs printing the negative cra* know their core audience, frustrated miserable women who harbor major dreams/delusions of Brad being with them, so of course the trash is slanted negatively toward Angelina and positively toward “hero” Brad. I was expecting this to come soon as it did. It was a matter of time.
Brad and Angie made their detractors along with the Trashloids look like the fools they are once again. I don’t care if they make good sales or not. I don’t care if they will continue the same drivels over and over again. They will still look like morons. People always loved drama anyway. It’s a common thing. Why can she run to Oprah crying about every trivial rag and tab headline then not knock down the ‘triangle’ headlines as well? It’s because they are plants from HUVANE, that’s why - they don’t want them to go away, they both know it would be career suicide if she totally disassociated her tabloid/yellow press life from Brad!

I’m sitting here watching the American Idol ‘Gives Back’ special with all these big stars (they’re showing all these clips of celebs dancing to “staying Alive” right now - two of the friends, Schwimmer, Kudrow, Goldie Hawn, Eric McCormack, Teri Hatcher, and Paltrow dancing like an idiot..but a happy idiot…and many other BIG names - hahahahah!) and clips of them in NOLA and in Africa singing to the children - who here thinks that if there were no Angelina, there would be no show like this?? I know I do. Her influence is IMMENSE. I can’t wait for that TIME issue, she more than any other celeb in recent memory deserves to be on it and in it, and rank VERY high!

Here’s the thing, any time something is anticipated for her, in the way of a career appearance - she is the type of woman who feels she HAS to have a man, a hook-up (or rumors of one) to complete her hyped up image.
For her, if she’s taping a vid segment for a show, or doing publicity of any kind - to be seen as a ’single,’ TWO YEARS after Brad left her aSS, is a humiliation.
This woman’s self-esteem is the absolute worst - she seems to depend on others loving her, men, for her own self-worth. She has said as much herself in interviews.
It is also the worst for her very dedicated and loyal PR man, Huvane — he is a very vengeful guy. The worst Maniston does life wise, the more he feels a need to make sure Brad is getting pummeled in the press, and he’s doing it by way of Angelina.
One thing I have always believed about her, is that the last two years have been less about missing Brad or missing Vince, and more about how she looks to other people - there have been inferences that she is jealous of Brad’s new life, and the fact that she looks like a loser — I can totally see how that would be the case with her, which is why her catty b*tch publicist Huvane, feels the need to rehabilitate her in the eyes of the public with things that infer that she is WANTED — so he feeds tabloids the stories about Brad and Aniston, or Vaughn and Aniston, and leaks phony hook-ups with big stars, or producers (no cameramen need apply, lol).
Vaughn, a so-called ‘friend’ is probably just now feeling the chill of what it’s like to NOT be attached to someone who is attached to Brad’s coattails, so he’s just desperate enough at this juncture to once again do her a favor, and drum up publicity again for her if she asked (begged) him to. As a bonus, he gets a little light shined on him.

OK the rest of this post is about Jennifer but its about her career and media manipulations and as a result of my caveat, I can talk about those things.
I don’t hate Jennifer, that’ much too strong a word. I’ve not liked her public persona - ie, victim. I’ve not liked what I see as her attempts to manipulate her fans and the general public in her VF interview and also the way she and Vince handled their relationship and break up.
But I do find Jennifer’s career interesting to watch. I’ve never bothered with too many actors and actresses. the usual course of events for me is to kinda wonder one day - what ever happened to so and so??
Jennifer is the first actress whose career I’ve actually watched. In part in because of my over all interest in BAMPZS. With BAMZPS though, its not just their acting careers that interest me, though I’m happy when they succeed, of course, I’m a fan. But its how they use their fame, how they manage their fame, what they do besides acting - their humanitarian interests, Plan B, these aspects interest me more.
But with Jennifer, well, she clearly chose to play the victim card to the public. She is the first actress I’ve noticed publicly playing the victim card. So, yes, I find it interesting, as I’m sure, do many managers and PR people in the industry. Will she succeed or fail and if so, why??
Now, playing the victim card is intimately related to media manipulation because of course, I do respect Jennifer enough NOT to view her as a victim. The reality is, Jennifer is a highly successful woman. You can measure it by the money she made. You can measure it by the 10 years success of Friends. Her wealth gives her opportunities beyond most of our dreams. Her health does not limit her either. She has many girl friends (as many people point out) who love and support her.
So, if she chooses to play the victim card (which up till oct/nov 2006 Yoga DVD promotion anyone?? she has chosen to do), then she does so because she sees a benefit to her. I don’t know if she gets any benefits for being a victim in her personal life. But I can judge whether she derives any benefits from being a victim in her public life - ie, her career (alll information, correct or not, available on IMDB website).
And as she is no victim (to me), but wants the world to see her a a victim (see amongst other things, oct/nov 06 dvd yoga promotion), there is a clear case to argue that she is manipulating her fans and the general public in part, for the sake of her career. Though I fail to qualify as a fan, I definitely qualify as a member of the general public. Therefore, my interest in her is exactly what she might hope for - yes??? And I cheerfully oblige.

Recently, I took my 13-year-old daughter Maddy to a New York City event honoring Angelina Jolie. Every parent will relate to the fact that Maddy often finds the world of celebrity magazines more interesting than the world of her father—which in my case centers on the United Nations and its work fighting poverty. That night Angelina brought those two worlds together. Maddy was awed by how Angelina used her celebrity to lift all of us beyond the glamour of a Manhattan ballroom and make us confront the grim realities of poverty in the farthest corners of the globe.
That ability to transcend worlds has something to do with Angelina’s movie-star charisma—but it also says something about her diligence and grit. Angelina, 30, spends a great deal of time in the developing world, visiting refugee camps, speaking and listening to the men, women and children she is working to help. Those people, Angelina explained, “have seen so much, they’ve felt so much pain—lost more than anyone could bear, and yet they contain joy of life and appreciation for small things we often forget.” It was a further indication of Angelina’s humanity that she stopped to listen and talk to Maddy as the city’s power brokers hovered impatiently, awaiting their brush with celebrity.
Angelina’s commitment as goodwill ambassador for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees has pushed her to speak out about root causes—economic failure and lack of justice. She urged me relentlessly to meet her last year during a stopover at an airport where our paths happened to be crossing, so that I could brief her ahead of her appearance at a big international meeting. It is typical of her. The subject was the Millennium Development Goals—a set of objectives agreed upon by the world’s governments. They range from eradicating poverty to reversing the spread of HIV/AIDS. As always, she wanted to be prepared—not just to share impressions of poverty but to be able to speak seriously to the issues. Angelina went on to make a film for MTV on a village in Kenya, where a pilot project is under way to fight poverty, hunger and disease.

Angelina Jolie’s style has inspired a new clothing line to be debuted at the upcoming Los Angeles Fashion Week.
The high-flying Tomb Raider star’s clothing choices have had a major impact on designer Alvin Valley and he’s created a new collection to pay tribute to the actress and humanitarian.
Valley’s new line is also inspired by America’s first licensed female pilot, Harriet Quimby. Valley tells online blogger Marc Malkin, “Harriet designed her own costumes for piloting. She was really an original and also a pioneer and a strong sort of woman. (And Jolie), she’s not just some girl who gets into a limo, and it’s all about that and a bodyguard. I think that girls who fly their own planes are pretty cool.”

The actress topped a poll of over 3,000 film fans, conducted by movie website http://www.pearlanddean.com,/ to take the sexy accolade.

Jolie joins top political and foreign policy think tank
Hollywood megastar Angelina Jolie has reportedly been elected a member of an exclusive American foreign policy think tank.
The UN goodwill ambassador will join US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former secretary Henry Kissinger, and top economist Alan Greenspan in the ranks of the influential Council of Foreign Relations, according to the New York Post.
The Manhattan-based group’s membership accepted Jolie’s nomination on Friday night, the newspaper said.
The CFR demands no academic credentials from the select few it lets in but does look for people who take part in world affairs.
Jolie, 31, has made dozens of trips around the world to campaign for refugees, Aids orphans and disaster victims.
Current member Dr Gordon Adams, an international affairs professor, was all in favour of the unusually glamorous new member.

Aniston’s PR is sickening. Those fake romance to drum up movie ticket sales are pure FRAUD in my opinion. As for this 2nd time around with Vince PR, I’m waiting for it to unfold.

I think you got some things confused. Brad wasn’t playing it cool at all. Go and read some of his interviews from 2004 and you will see why. He was saying that marriage is not forever and that if he and _ didn’t manage to work it out in the end then they’ll part their ways. Brad was the one who said that he doesn’t really know what she is after and she doesn’t really know what he is after in his interviews with Charlie Rose. And many other things to that effect.
Brad was giving signs that something is going on and it’s not so well. On the other hand all you where hearing from _ mouth that everything was fine and the baby is coming and all that crap.
They appeared in the red carpet together for the sake of the movie but that was to her benefit as well. So she will show to the public that she is not losing her mail ticket.
But they where also doing it to show that everything is amicable and that they still had respect for each other even if the end was near. Until of course she opened her big fat mouth. And the rest is history.

Tribeca Film Festival raised the ticket 50% this year to prevent another deficit (they’ve been loosing 1 million each year) and people is complaining of its price. So TFF will be happy if Angie join them and draw media’s attention to this festival because there is another rival festival in San Francisco at the same season.
I don’t know why her movie won’t. My comment is secondhand information. I checked TFF site but didn’t find her movie’s title.

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) _ A Concord (New Hampshire) man’s phone keeps ringing at random hours with people looking for Brad Pitt. The problem is, 77-year-old Richard Perkins doesn’t know the movie star and has only seen one film with the 43-year-old actor.
A Web site has the retired teachers’ home phone number listed as contact information for Pitt. For the last six days, Perkins’ phone keeps ringing at times as late as 2 a-m. At first he thought it was his daughter asking for “Dad.” Instead, it was a young woman asking for “Brad.”
Perkins says he doesn’t want to change his phone number because he’s afraid he’ll forget his new one.

I looked the candidates on Time’s website and I can only recognize half of those people. Although there are some that I highly rated :) I’ll just say this, Colbert fans are pretty damn organized and dedicated, just look up the list of things that have been named after him and you’ll see that a number of them were based on online fan votes. That reminds me, I need to try to Ben & Jerry’s Americone dream. :lol:

C does not go out of her way to engage fans as you say but rather the other way around.

What you are failing to see or acknowledge is that C has attacked plenty of regular fans who post here, at one time or another. She’s also attacked Jared on occasion. A definite no-no. She has managed to singlehandedly burn up most of her good will here with other fans. As a result there are not too many fans here who have a lot of sympathy for her.
It does not take a rocket scientist to see that she draws a lot of hate to this board when she goes into nasty mode. I have seen her turn a perfectly calm and happy thread into a place where most fans no longer want to be. Her hate for the X just attracts hate for BAMPZS. That is why many of the regulars are no longer posting here. Throw in disgusting displays like what we saw last night from Fug and you can start to see why many are staying away.
I don’t believe that anyone truly wants anyone else banned, but there are a few here who are unable to govern themselves, consistently work around the edit mode that Jared has in place for swearing, and would rather fight than enjoy the good that this amazing family has accomplished. At some point you have to weigh out what is best for the greater good.
Most of us are intelligent, educated fans and don’t NEED C or anyone else to break it down for us. We’re more than capable of seeing what the X’s camp might be up to and what is going on in the tabloids. Just because we don’t feel the need to talk about it doesn’t mean we haven’t figured it out too. So fans like BCBG need to quit insulting our intelligence by telling us that we can ‘learn’ from it. We don’t need to be schooled. Most of us already see it. It’s part of why we’re here. Don’t you get that???
