Prison Break star Wentworth Miller makes People’s “World’s Most Beautiful” list this year. Wentworth, 34, on his shorn look: “I’ve been shaving my head on and off for years, but for a low-maintenance look, it takes a lot of maintenance – I have to cut it twice a week!”

Black, White, Purple, Green I don’t care, he’s the hottest man I’ve ever laid me eyes on! He’s not only gorgeous but smart, talented, charming and sexy as hell! Oh and his eyes and voice are to die for! I agree, Wentworth is the most beautiful man in the world!
I like the original photo best, I wish these idiots would not photoshop his gorgeous-ness! Gawd, they even had the nerve to take off his moles, Grrrr!!!

I despise Went’s character, Coleman, in The Human Stain. I actually tried to watch the movie in its entirety, but it made me so angry that I couldn’t. Especially the part where he comments on the black guy he was fighting. Wow, I couldn’t watch anymore after that. Coleman gets what he deserves when his girlfriend backs out on him at the last minute. My favorite part, of what I saw, is when his brother tells him not to ever bring his a$$ home again! Loved it! Coleman breaks his mother’s heart and would’ve broken his mean a$$ dad’s, too if he had lived to see his outrageous behavior!

I really hope you’re wrong about him not having a black love interest in a movie or whatever. Gosh! I hope he doesn’t take that route. I would be so disappointed because he seems to be a really nice guy.
In every interview I’ve read or seen, he doesn’t shy away from who he is, where he comes from. He seems genuinely sincere when he talks about his heritage. I do have to come to the defense of some of the magazine editors and say that Went’s eyes are hazel, which means sometimes they may look green, sometimes, blue, and sometimes, a light brown, and even pale blue. I’m not naive though, I know they do make subtle changes to gain a certain audience or reader. But the eye color change CAN happen naturally, too. It all depends on what color he wears and the lighting.
I must again, and I’m sorry, just comment on how beautiful this man is. He is just lovely, heavenly. Can’t say it enough! And someone else said it on this blog, his seemingly inner beauty, seemingly because I DON’T know him, does come through when we look at him. His intellect, his eloquent speech, his gracefulness…..Oh how I wish I did though…….know him, I mean. I’m convinced I will someday, professionally only, though.
Please I am not saying that these marketig choices are even within his total control..but i am also not saying he is unaware either. After he is in a business. He of course knows what roles he is going to accept or not. But his image physical image makes no mistake as being perceived as a white male and marketed as such. That’s the whole point of his character in The Human Stain. I am not saying that black actors are not leading box office stars (someone pointed out that Will Smith is so…and Denzel Washington is one of the leading top actors..as Jamie Foxx. They are african -american actor and there’s no hiding that fact or guessing about it..but I also wonder how many young little white girls are lusting about these guys as much as Went? hmmm.) Whereas Wentworth is bi-racial and through marketing portrayed as a white male. That is why I say people are shock to find out he’s half-black. He has said that his eyes are hazel. So of course if magazine are changing his eyes to light blue and light green..what are they doing? trying to in a very subtle way make you feel he is white. No I don’t fault him because like his character in that movie, he wants to get ahead that’s his choice..and if that image sells for him. He’s going to go along with it all the way to the bank. But I repeat I highly doubt he will ever have a black woman as his love interest n a show or film. It’s not personal it’s all about marketing and show business.

For those who are nitpicking Wentworth; are we just a teeny weeny bit J.E.A.L.O.U.S of pure perfection. I as a person that is a frequent inspector of hands and feet must say that went has the finest hands and feet i have ever seen on a human being especially male. So insults of my man are not needed. Kitty, sorry but this is just wrong. If you look at the ORIGINAL, unaltered photo, as linked by both myself and Guilettonzola above your post, you will see that there he has his real eye colour (hazel, but looking sea green/blue here, as they often do). He does appear to wear contacts in some HQ pics, but they are clear, not coloured. When his eye colour is changed in photos, it is as a result of photoshopping by the magazine or whatever; it is not his choice. He has even commented in the past about how the way mags change his eye colour is one of the things which helps him disconnect from the image they portray of him and his real self.
Oh, and to the people complaining about his feet (???), I have no idea what you’re talking about, I think he has beautiful feet. Went, if ever you fancy a foot rub I will be more than happy to oblige. Any. Damn. Time.

In this day and age, I can not believe we are having the same old discussion on race. What do people mean by not being black enough? It makes no sense to me. The only thing that needs to be black enough about him, I PRAY, is the stereotype about the size of his ****.
I’m sorry people, but I just have to say it. It’s 2007…why the Hell are we still going back and forth about the black and white thing?! For all that’s great about America, when we go back to this ****, it taints us. INTEGRATE PEOPLE - don’t just talk about it, or dream about, DO IT and learn from each other while you’re at it.
As for the small consensus who thinks that Went would never have a black on-screen love interest…I don’t get that line of thinking. Are you insinuating that black actresses are any less desirable than white actresses? Are you saying that they’re any less bankable or any less talented? Are you saying that Went would really be that shallow? I hope not.
Went strikes me as the kind of person who cringes at the thought of having to box his different ethnicities into one category on applications. I bet he marks the “other” box with pride. That being said, why does he have to “belong” to one ethnic group to satisfy those who question his ethnic pride? Went is a citizen of the world just like we all are.
Yes, Went is physically stellar, but for me, it’s his mind and what he stands for that makes him out-of-this-world. Oh yeah, and his wonderful, unphotoshopped nose.

If it bothers you, then ignore it. Media plays a part in our culture and perception which is why his bi-racial background is ALWAYS mentioned..if it weren’t relevant why is it always mentioned in his bio.

DeeCee, Went isn’t BI-RACIAL…he’s MULTI-ETHNIC. The public’s sentiments on race are what feeds the vicious media cycle. I’m not denying that race was and still is a major dividing factor in America, but it doesn’t have to be that way in the future or even in our own lifetime.

What…multi-racial. Alright. If you say so. I’ve never heard that term applied to him as much as I have heard bi-racial. I always thought from what I read his mum is white and father is black…but regardless, the question arised about the lightening up up his pic. My original point that I addressed in post #81, is in regards to media and race. And the obvious marketing choice of manipulating his pics by lightening skin and changing his eyes in pics to light green and in some pics to blue. As a person of color, myself that is..I question what the media does in marketing and it’s subtle message. For me doing that is part of a technique to make him appear less ethnic and appear more white….why didn’t they darken his skin tone? If we want to live in a world that doesn’t cre about such things?
I feel that if we stop feeding this line of conversation it will die, as well it should. Being the same “Bi-racial” make up as Mr. Miller, my opinion is WHO GIVES A ****? It is their problem, not mine or his. As I have said before, it is really all about that fabulously educated brain of his, his **** and the things I would like for him to do to me with them.
Point taken, DeeCee. The world does care about these things, but it really shouldn’t. I’m a person of color too (Filipino, Chinese, Blackfoot, Spanish, Irish, English, French, and Scottish), but physically, I look white. Despite my appearance, I don’t let it define me and I don’t let others define me either by what they can only see on the surface. If I were Went, I’d be a bit upset at the nose-shaving and skin-bleaching tactics of the marketing and media charlatans. It’s wrong on so many levels, and why mess with perfection?
Funny how the only people who say race isn’t an issue are white or white-appearing. The reality is that Went is being marketed as white as possible, which is the reason behind the skin-bleaching in the People spread. As far as the multi-ethnic thing, generally “multi-ethnic” translates “white” which is why Went got so annoyed when that dumb reporter tried to pull that “mutt” nonsense. What did Went tell him? Something about “That means you’re white. But thanks for playing…” If Went were merely “multi-ethnic”, he’d just be another white actor. Went is biracial. And everyone knows what that means in this country, right?

In response to some recently posted messages, I have read in the media many many times Went being referred to “biracial” I don’t recall anyone using the word “multi-racial” to describe Went. I have seen the words “mixed race” in some interviews, and they often describe his racial background further. I have also read an interview a while back where Went has used the term ” a racial lone ranger” to decscribe himself as well.
I remember that “mutt” incident and I liked the way Went handled it. I’m pretty sure that interviewer had his foot in his or her mouth after interview!

OMGosh! What “mutt” interview incident? Please don’t tell me that at journalist approached him with such a derogatory term? Gosh, they have some ba!1$, don’t they? You have got to tell me what magazine, radio station, TV show this happened on/with.
I also think that Mama Bear is right about him cringing at the thought of someone trying to “box” him in a specific ethnic group. I also think the thought of him taking a standardized test or filling out an application at this point in his life is a bit silly. No one really knows what he did in the past, though, do we. I know we would ALL LIKE to THINK that when he filled out applications in the past to work at ABC, that he marked the appropriate box, that is if he marked one at all. These days, you don’t feel out paperwork until AFTER they’ve given you the job, not the paperwork that counts for anything anyway, and at that point, it really doesn’t matter anymore. YOU’VE GOT THE JOB!
Unfortunately we still do live in a country where race is a huge issue and probably always will be. I just attended a sexual harrassment workshop for my job yesterday and learned that race discrimination is still the highest reported forms of discrimination in the workplace. It was really an awakening for me as well. These days, I thought it would be age discrimination. It just took me aback a moment. It reminded me that the more things appear to change on the surface, the more they really stay the same. It is sad…….but true.
I don’t know Went, none of us do. I think more people know the industry a bit better than others, however, I don’t think that ANY of us should try to imply what he makes the decisions that he makes about his work. I don’t think that we should imply in either way about what decisions he will make in the future. None of us really know what he struggles with on a day to day basis. However, I must interject here and say that only another bi-racial or black (woman, as far as a life partner) /person would even come close to ever knowing. Went seems to be an intelligent person. (Hello! He’s a Princeton grad!) Sometimes being just that can cause a person to make “smart decisions” that one may not be so proud of later. But like I said, who knows! Because we like him, we all want to think the best of him. Dee Cee has her theories, I have mine, Mama Bear has hers. The truth is, that’s all they are, THEORIES. Only he knows, unfortunately we will probably never know His Truth, only those closest to him.
Yes of course we all have our theories and I appreciate the fact that we are discussing…Not fighting over our variety of viewpoints. My observations are not about WM but about how Mr. Miller is marketed and presented to us. I am not disputing his beauty. And really focus was not of his actions per say but by what and how the media distorts and packages celebrities to us. When the same media glorifies wire thin girls…am I the viewer mislead to believe that the this is the ideal image for females.
I am both able to see him as a handsome man but I don’t have to feign blindness to subtle tactic of marketing technique just because of it.

I just saw the PEOPLE magazine photo. His eye color and skin color appeared very “normal” to me. Eyes were a hazel/green, and his skin wasn’t bleached out as it is here. The alteration in color is more obvious here than in the magazine. I don’t think the mag altered anything.
