Here is your exclusive access to Board Member of Cambodian Health Committee and UN Goodwill Ambassador for High Commissioner for Refugees Angelina Jolie before the launch of “Global Action for Children” (GAC) on Thursday in Washington, DC. (See Part I here.)
“This is a happy day because it’s not often enough children are represented in this town,” Jolie said. “Their education and well being is an investment in our future.”
When asked about becoming more political or running for elective office, Jolie smiled and said, “I surely don’t think anybody here wants that. [My focus remains] in the field.”
“I feel very fortunate to have orphan children in my home,” added Jolie, who has three adopted children with partner Brad Pitt.

I believe that she studies the situation beforehand and is really knowledgeable about what she is talking about. Also, she shows sincerity in everything she does. The woman is simply BEAUTIFUL!! Period. And it’s not just because she is who she is. Even if she was a nobody I would still say the same. She is wearing almost no make up and she is still looking fabulous.
She seems very attentive of the discussion. Some people think that she is in some kind of a party. Just because she doesn’t smile like a fool in every God damn picture doesn’t mean that she is sad or that her life is a mess or that she will soon commit suicide. She is simply listening to what others saying and they are talking about children that are suffering from AIDS/HIV. They are not talking about recipes or fashion. :roll:
Some people are behaving like she had about 100 pounds more before and she lost all of it in a day. I was looking in some pictures of her premiere in Alexander back in 2004 as she was as thin as she is now. That is just her body’s structure. She is not gaining wait easily. Do you really thing that if she had an eating problem she would have these long and healthy hair?? Or she would be able to travel and be an active mother of four??
Some people really need to get a crip but that’s just wishful thinking on my part.
But I guess NE says that she is sick so the Bible writings must be true then. LMAO!!
Anyway today I just learned about a new organisation that supports those children and I’m so grateful about it. I learned something more about life and how we can use our power and be productive to bring something good in this world instead of sitting in front of a PC to spew hate all day while doing nothing.

Angelina Jolie Advocated Action In Washington, D.C.
A professional and elegant Angelina Jolie made an appearance at Washington’s National Press Club this afternoon to announce the formal launch of Global Action for Children, an advocacy organization dedicated to orphans’ and children’s issues.
Jolie, dressed in a conservative gray suit, looked stunning, reports our own Cindy Clark, as the actress spoke about the issue closest to her heart. “This is a happy day because it’s not often enough children are represented in this town,” she said. “Their education and well being is an investment in our future.” The organization is focused on increasing government funding by $2.5 billion per year for programs that support orphans and vulnerable children and provide free primary school education in developing countries.
When asked about a possible run for a formal elected position, Jolie looked amused and said, “I surely don’t think anybody here wants that,” and that her focus remains “in the field.” Jolie, who has three adopted children with partner Brad Pitt, said “I feel very fortunate to have orphan children in my home.”

Very nice. Holly must be worked to death with a schedule that Angelina has. The GAC is a good idea. I hope they take some ideas from The Children’s Defense Fund. Marian Wright Edelman is one of my idols. Speaking of Idol, their charity show was good last night and as I said before I think Angelina’s influence has silently crept into Hollywood for this new surge of outreach. Of course no one will ask themselves, “I wonder how come the past few years there’s been this new trend of philanthropy”. Angelina will never get any credit for anything positive from certain people. Only the people that matter recognize her efforts. I’m glad she was not on American Idol because she is not the queen of everycharity in the world. She has carved out her own niche and has her plate full with current projects. Everytime there is something about Africa, people ask, Where’s Angelina?
WTF? People should be asking what can I do to help? Then pick up a phone like Angelina did years ago.

Thank you finally saw the video. The pictures don’t do her justice. She is truly beautiful, and she speaks well. Her intelligence is so apparently obvious. He reasons for doing what she does was explained so succinctly, because the cameras follow her wherever she goes. There is nothing negative about this woman. I have always liked Angie even in her wild and crazy honest teenage days,nothing will ever change that. Same with Brad ,He’s a sweetheart and they make a great couple with a fine growing family . Great news too to see Pax ’s name is going to be a Pitt posted for all to see.
I was reading these posts after leaving the other thread and i remembered a quote Angie made a long time ago in her younger yrs. That quote really stayed with me because even now as a mature beautiful women with many titles after her name she ’s still the same honest person only better and lives her quotes to the fullest. For anyone who has visited a third world country knows if you went into the depts of the most povery stricken sites you walk away and it’s something you will never forget for the rest of your life..Too sad for words and you feel so helpless . Angie did do something about it though. I see what you see. I will not allow myself to go there because I don’t want my head to explode, obviously for different reasons than the haters.
The possibility would send the tabs into a tailspin. All of the reports about their distance vs. incontrovertable proof of their closeness pressing against Angelina’s S.t. John’s couture.

Thanks for the heads up on Jon V on O’Reily. One thing O’Reily mentioned is that they checked AJ out with her charitable donations and she is the real deal. She walks the talk. Jon V was careful not to put his foot in his mouth and say something that will be the headline for tomorrow. He came across as proud of AJ and all she has accomplish. O’Reily talked about AJ life in a fishbowl. However, Jon V made a good statement about how she is able to turn the spotlight away from her and onto people that need it. It is too bad that a lot of self-centered, whiny celebs cannot look beyond their interest to be of service to others.

My dear little fool, I haven’t missed the point. This is a gossip website. And 9.5 out of 10 comments above mine are extolling her “beautiful” looks in these photos. She looks haggard.
If I want to talk about serious charitable works, I’ll go to serious websites that have real information about what’s happening in the world.
By the way the video of the press conference is so much better. You can hear the sincerity of her words and commitment.

Thanks for the heads up on Jon V on O’Reily. One thing O’Reily mentioned is that they checked AJ out with her charitable donations and she is the real deal. She walks the talk. Jon V was careful not to put his foot in his mouth and say something that will be the headline for tomorrow. He came across as proud of AJ and all she has accomplish. O’Reily talked about AJ life in a fishbowl. However, Jon V made a good statement about how she is able to turn the spotlight away from her and onto people that need it. It is too bad that a lot of self-centered, whiny celebs cannot look beyond their interest to be of service to others.

Firstly, GAC is doing good to focus on educating the poor children. It’s absolutely necessary. In some countries very little is spent on education. One such country is Pakistan. For years, only 2% of the nation’s budget was spent on education. This needs to be contrasted with the fact that the army drew nearly 40% of the budget. The result is that desparate parents send their children to religious schools run by almost mullahs, just so their children derive some education for a while.
I should add that I know someone in Pakistan who is setting up primary schools (to year 5 or 6) there for as little as US$500 a year. The schools are really in someone’s home. The charity provides blackboards, basic school books, a teacher - all out of the teachers home. The teacher has high school education and is paid a salary. Some 20 to 30 students under the age of 12 attend these schools. The brighter ones are given scholarships to attend high school. But the hope is that all will come out with basic literacy and numeracy. English is taught.
Secondly, I clicked on the close up photos of Angelina. What fantastic skin A touch of foundation, powder. A little eye shadow - no more I don’t think. For most people, if their skin were magnified 2 times, would look like they had a bad case of chicken pox when they were in their teens!
third, GAC obviously see the value of having Angelina as a honorary chairperson and advocate. Just this publicity alone is equal to thousands of dollars of advertising. it will no doubt translate into donations as well.
Fourthly hahahahahahahahaha “her eyes are too bright”. My goodness, this poor paid flack (reference to singular is intentional!!) is desparately scrabbling at the bottom of the barrel to find something, anything to criticise here. Now her eyes are too bright. All I can say about that criticism is that it has one advantage of novelty in that I’ve never ever heard anyone write that about anyone else on a celebrity blog till now - how bright the celebrity eyes are. Not Kate Moss, Peter Doherty, Lindsay Lohan etc, known users of drugs. Not anyone. Because, of course, it is impossible to tell that someone’s eyes are too bright from photos!!!
So for those who think her eyes are “too bright” I suggest that you consider reducing the glare on your computer screen. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Coming from Asia, I find it hard to comprehend why some of you (probably Americans) are criticizing Angie’s weight.
By Asian standard, given Angie’s height and frame, Angie is of normal weight.
Perhaps most Americans are a bit over weight (obese) that is why some of you here think that Angie is seriously under weight.

On the first sement on Angie that was shown the lady that was talking about Angie being on the Hill. Said she was there just to see Angie. It is all about Angie and most people know this.
I also saw all those cameras, too. And you are right Angie has the ‘IT’ factor and not many people have it. You are either born with it or not born with it.
Talk about being shock that Bill O was actaually nice where Angie was concern. I was holding my breathe just waiting for the hammer to fall but both BO and JV were nice.

Time will tell. These pixs remind me of her visit to DC in November 2005, which was when I noticed that she had a little tummy in a pix where she was turned sideways. I paid little attention to it. As we all know now, little Ms. Shiloh was on her way. LOL. By the way some have commented that Angelina has hair extensions, no, she does not need those like some do, it’s all Angelina’s hair. Her hair was long like it is now when she was younger.
Angelina is so earnest and passionately dedicated to those issues she holds dear. The videos are great, and llustrate her grasp and knowledge of issues.

The actress, 31, appeared at a press conference in Washington, D.C., on Thursday to announce the launch of Global Action for Children, a group that raises money for orphans in developing countries.
“I am here to simply ask you to think about orphaned children not as a burden but as a great opportunity,” Jolie said at the event. “Their education is an investment in our future. … They have had to work very, very hard to survive, but when they are given a chance, they grow strong, stronger than most. … The Lost Boys of Sudan are a great example.”
(Jolie and Brad Pitt recently donated $100,000 to a clinic in the Sudan founded by a former Lost Boy, and Pitt executive produced a documentary about the boys, God Grew Tired of Us.)
GAC, which aims to increase U.S. funding for orphans in developing countries by $2.5 billion per year, is notable because it’s non-partisan: One of the organization’s key proponents is former Republican National Committee chairman Ed Gillespie.
Earlier on Thursday, Jolie and GAC executive director Jennifer Delaney met with top leaders at the State Department, including Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Dina Powell and Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Karen Hughes.
“It went very well,” Delaney tells PEOPLE. “We talked about how there is such a growing need to help children around the world. We talked a great deal about universal education and orphans and vulnerable children, so I do think there’s some receptiveness there to this issue.”

She probably flew late at night so that she could spend time with the kids, and take care of Brad if he didn’t fly with her. Therefore she is probably tired and a little sleepy. I agree something is up. My theory is she is having so much sex with Brad ( you know the guy you want to sleep with yourself) that she can’t keep the weight on.

April 25, 2007 — IN Touch’s gamble to jettison celebrities for its cover story and go with real-life news tied to last week’s Virginia Tech massacre turned out to be a newsstand bust.
“It was one of our lowest issues of the year,” conceded In Touch Editor-in-Chief Richard Spencer.
The issue hit newsstands last Wednesday in New York and Thursday or Friday for the rest of the country.
The estimates available after the weekend, projected the magazine to have single-copy sales in the low 900,000 range, compared with an average week when the magazine sells about 1.2 million newsstand copies.
Some rivals think the final tally will come in below 900,000, making it the lowest-selling issue in two years.
“I still think it was worth doing,” said Spencer. “We tried something different.” Still, he says he probably would not stray so far afield in the future.
For the People magazine franchise, which has a tradition of covering real-life events, the Virginia Tech shooting issue didn’t move the newsstand needle much either.
“It was an average seller,” said one source with knowledge of the numbers. In the first half last year, People was selling over 1.5 million copies on newsstands.
One rival said Virginia Tech was on the “low-average” range for them, while coverage of the slaying at the Amish school house last year was on the high-average side - so In Touch may have drained off some potential readers.
The biggest winner of the week was OK! with its exclusive photos of Larry Birkhead and Dannielynn, the daughter he had with Anna Nicole Smith.
Publisher Tom Morrisey said it was the magazine’s highest-selling issue ever, aside from its 25-cent promotional issues.
Sales in the 600,000 level were nearly double year-ago sales of 334,506 a week.
Meanwhile, sources say that rumblings of an Angelina Jolie/Brad Pitt bust-up did well for Life & Style and Star - even if the stories were nothing beyond speculation.
Life & Style cranked out its top-selling issue of the year, selling nearly 900,000 - a whopping 200,000 more than its year-ago average.
Star was selling close to 800,000. Though that’s only up modestly from its year-ago average of 752,000, it’s on the rebound from late last year when it had trouble passing the 550,000 mark.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly ran with a cover of Prince William and his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton calling it quits and it was mildly disappointing, selling somewhere near 900,000. A year ago, Us Weekly was selling around 1 million copies a week.
Another rumor making the rounds is that Wenner might be getting ready to sell Us Weekly and that’s why he is trying to get rid of some high-priced executives while also securing others with long term contracts.
Among those who have left are longtime general manager Kent Brownridge, who departed a year ago. Janice Min, the editor of Us Weekly magazine, still doesn’t have a new contract, even though her current one expires at the end of June.
A Wenner Media spokesman insisted that “Us Weekly is not for sale.”

good….i already got interviewed for two jobs that i applied to…they told me that they let us (candidates) know their decisions after two weeks….the directors for both job that i applied to are traveling….. and they will be back to work second week of may….i am still waiting for the result from the other jobs i applied to if they’re going to call me for interview….i applied to lots of job :lol:

I have been a fan of Brad and I have followed his career. I have noticed that the press has lost interest in him and are focusing all of the attention on Angelina. I stand by what I said , he has become emasculated since hooking up with her. I am not blind and I have watched the media coverage in the past year, and it seems to be all about Angelina. Even the worlds most beautiful list , they have this huge picture of Angelina, and this tiny picture of Brad and Angie in the corner. I am not blind at all. I just watched the Bill O’ Riley segment and O’ Riley went on and on, and was questioning why it was that Angelina was one of the biggest most interesting stars in the world. Gushing basically, not one mention that her star rose because of Mr. Pitt. As a long time fan I am a little disappointed , because I know all of the things Brad has accomplished but the average person does not.

Well then I can asure you it’s not. I have been reading about these two for years. And as a couple for as long as they have been together. There is a big difference between the tabloid media and the real media. There is a difference between the comment section of say Dlisted and the actual public. Sure there are a few jerks out there that think of him as whipped. But those same people would drop to their knees praise Jesus and Budda to be whipped by a woman like that.
As a fan and a rational person I don’t see him emasulcated in any shape or form. I see a man proud to be with a real woman. A woman that don’t sun tan all day, doesn’t botox her face up to high heven, doesn’t read taloids, internalize every negative thing. He is happy to be by her side. Look at his smile. The guy is pissing himself to be holding on to this popular, careing, and talented woman. He is happy to have her and those kids. And he risked his career to be with all of them. If he’s happy then clearly it doesn’t matter what some low life running a gossip rag or a troll in a comment section thinks of his masulinity. He loves her and his kids. That’s the end for me.

I never said I was not happy for Angie. I am a fan of Brad Pitt first and foremost. Yes I agree Angie has taken a hit, but so has Brad. He also has paid a price hooking up with Angie, he lost a ton of fans. The tabloid media may be a little kinder, but they still labeled him a cad. Just look at the different polls that they do. Before Angie he would win those polls without his fans having to campaign and vote constantly. Now Clooney and others beat him all time in these polls. Brad has taken a huge hit and as a true fan of Brad, yes it is a disappointment. I am not projecting anything, I am simply stating what I am seeing with the press coverage recently. He is mentioned almost as an afterthought.
Does anyone get deja vu looking at these pictures? They look so much like the ones from Davos when Angelina was pregnant. The outfit is almost the same. a little bolero type jacket over the matching dress. She has the same serene look that she did last year….Hmmmmmm LOL!!! ON TO CANNES FILM FESTIVAL!!!!!!!!

I hear what you are saying but as a woman that had the same type of bio sperm donor like JV. I hope that Angie never let him anywhere near her or her children.
She has forgiven him and to me that is all that needs be. You just don’t let someone that is toxic into your life or your children lives. Parents like him turn on you without warning — sure for a little while things seems to be all good but in the end. You are right back where you last left off!
And to be honest he is only being nice because he has a new movie coming out and wants to see his bio granddaughter (nevermind it didn’t bother him NOT seeing Mad and Zee). It’s not the first time he used her fame to try and move up the food chain or try to get into her good grace.

Brad had to wait for some type of permit or clearance before he could start working on the green project in NO. He just got that about a week or so ago. Now I believe construction can begin. He doesn’t need to be there for them to start. I am sure they have scheduled their time to accommodate their plans and projects. Bard is more relevant now then he has ever been since he came to HW. Before he was just a poser, a companion, and escort to premiers and parties. Now he is building a family, helping to save impoverished children, and helping to build communities. That is relevance. Plus he is married to the hottest humanitarian in the world. Peace.

Let me rephrase my statement:
He is being emascualated by the press coverage(not by his fans) and it will eventually effect his career, if it hasn’t already. By being with Angelina his popularity has taken a huge hit, Angie has actually gained fans since being with him. Yes she has haters but her popularity has soared. I am not a troll , I happen to be a huge Brad Pitt fan, followed his career since forever and it is sad to see what is happening. I have noticed little things before regarding the media ignoring Brad. It has become glaring now. If stating my opinion on this blog makes me less of a fan then Oh Well.
Wow, what a wonderful couple and family. Angie is the best and doesn’t care about her haters or what they say about her, she and Brad keep on going and doing what they believe is the right thing to do. Public humilation? lmao, I am on a blog, just like you are. Anyway, as a fan all the information you posted , I already know about by visting websites (simply brad, bradforum, etc.) The general public are not aware of all his accomplishments, because of the way the media is focusing on Angelina. Is is it her fault? We will leave that for another conversation. All I was simply saying is what some fans seem to ignore, that Brad has become emasculated in the eyes of the press. The press has an affect on public opinion, and public opinion has an affect on careers. As a fan of Brad it saddens me . I guess Brad is also an afterthought to some of his fans now.

Brad has NOT lost ANY coverage, any fans, any status. He cannot breathe without being crushed by the press. He and Angelina seemed to ignite when they became a couple, together and individually. BTW we read very little about Clooney or Depp in the glossy gossip magazines. Frankly I think Brad wants that also. (Remember Brad wants to legit media to care not the gossip rags) So although you feel he is invisable I think he is fine because he still getting his acting roles. Thank you. This day was about little orphan children being given help and hope for the future and not about a popularity contest.
One more thing - I really liked that Bill O said that Angie walks the walk with her charity endeavours and that he’s checked her out to see that it was true. I’m still laughing at his description of Angie when he was doing his little introductions leading to JV’s interview that she is “the darling of the world”.

Don’t forget that George Clooney is sooo in love with himself that he would never be with anyone who takes any kind of attention away from him. His girlfriends must be H list or below to be taken out to a dive. On the red carpet, no one will be with him. The date must meet up with him at the afterparty driven in some sort of SUV. He wants 100 percent attention on himself. That’s the only way his insecure delicate ego will have it.

What can I say? First of all, he’s much younger in person than he is in photos. Thankfully, he’s also not little. You know how they’re always shorter in real life? Well, not in his case. By no means a giant but he’s probably just under 6 ft. Good enough for an average sized girl to wear heels and not feel like Nicole Kidman and the GMD.
He’s also a true, bonafide STAR. As in twinkle twinkle. The man knows how to work it, he doesn’t come off as a regular person who just got famous, he comes off as Brad Pitt . The one and only. Yes, I am gushing. But trust me when I tell you, it’s absolutely not an exaggeration.
The fans were screaming, a thousand cameras were going off, people were pushing and shoving each other on the line, trying to get the first interview, reporters were getting knocked down, it was so bright with the bulbs, there was almost a halo effect around his body. And through it all, he just sauntered up and down, cocky, confident, completely at ease, owning the whole show.
I spoke to a woman later on who was standing right next to me, she worked at a major entertainment news outlet, and she was like – “I’ve been doing this for 10 years and I’ve never seen anyone have this kind of effect.”

It does support the thought you are being paid to do this and makes no sense otherwise…have you met him? Seen him in person? Interviewed him? She wore a gray suit jacket and skirt and a black headband. She flew out after the news conference to dine with foreign-policy types in NYC and attend tonight’s premiere of a documentary she directed.
She was the event’s last speaker. “I am no policy expert, as you all know, and I’m not going to speak as one,” she said. “I am asking you to think of orphan children not as a burden . . . but as investing in a future. . . . Orphaned children are the world’s children.”
Reporters were told to limit their questions to the topic at hand, i.e., no Hollywood, none of the personal life stuff that so compels. Wiggle room: Would it help if more people adopted Third World orphans as she has? “The best solution for them is to be at home in their home country.”
Had she considered she might be more effective getting her issues across if she became even more politically active — say, by running for office? She broke into a throaty laugh: “I don’t think anybody here wants that.”

Anyway, as a fan all the information you posted , I already know about by visting websites (simply brad, bradforum, etc.) The general public are not aware of all his accomplishments, because of the way the media is focusing on Angelina. Is is it her fault? We will leave that for another conversation. All I was simply saying is what some fans seem to ignore, that Brad has become emasculated in the eyes of the press. Now THIS! is “interesting.” Thank you. I wonder if it will debut today, Friday, or if it came out tonight. Can’t wait to find out either way.
I imagine it takes alot of work to make sure the issue is not overshadowed. But that’s really not her fault if it were over looked. She is a celebrity but also an American and a citizen. We ALL can chip in and do what we can. She is trying her best and frankly she is a success. Everyone that has worked with her can attest to that. The focus that is put on her speaks more about who we are as a socirty than her. She has the real focus while some of us or all of us have the wrong focus. Frankly I would have ignored this if she wasn’t attached. Maybe I would have caught it on CSPAN or The Situation Room if she was not involved but given the massive coveage of Anna Nicole and the baby daddy saga something tells me I would not have known about something as important as this.
I’m just glad that “celebrity”, as shaky and meaningless as it is, can actually be used to help people and issues that matter.

Can we please keep this thread about positivity and bringing good news from the JPs instead of needing to know what other sites are doing? Let them do what they want, it will not stop Angie from doing her work, as evidenced by the title of this thread. Angie was on that list last year, and if she’s not on the list this year, I don’t think she’ll cry over it. Sin City star Jessica Alba has been crowned the sexiest woman in the world by readers of FHM magazine in the UK.
The US actress, 25, beat glamour model Keeley Hazell and Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria to take the title.
“She’s a talented, successful and beautiful actress who clearly has sex appeal that translates worldwide,” said the magazine’s editor, Chris Bell.
Last year’s winner, Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley, dropped to 12th place.
But it is fellow Briton Sienna Miller who recorded the biggest fall.

I’m one who has to watch how much I eat and exercise to maintain my weight but I have so many colleagues who will eat breakfast, lunch and dinner – I mean noodles or something like that in the morning, noodles or rice and meat and veges in the afternoon and a proper dinner of rice/noodles and meat and veges in the evening and look like Angelina. I’m so envious.
French women too are pretty slim – by and large. I believe some French woman wrote a book about why French women eat and stay slim a couple of years ago and by golly, go the paris and you’ll see its true!

As for Angelina overshadowing Brad, I think its Brad deliberately wanting to turn down the volume of his celebrity hood.
My take on Brad is, he is a master of his life right now. He’s got his family, something he thought he would have by the time he was 32 but didn’t actually get till he was 42. He’s got a woman by his side, who sees eye to eye and stands shoulder to shoulder with him on family, children, fame, making movies, charity work, politics.
He is doing some very good acting – in Babel and then according to 2 early reviews, in AOJJ, he has his production company fully ramped up. And already, it has produced an Oscar Best Picture, and it looks like the Year of the Dog may even be a sleeper hit as it has received good reviews. It has produced TMH – another low budget movie, which will probably do moderately well – at least, sufficient to cover costs and get the message out.
I think Brad can turn the publicity machine on and off when he needs to and that’s probably the way he likes it. Around the time of the Global Green competition Babel’s release, the TIFF, right up to the time of the GG, it seemed to be all about Brad. It got to the point where I thought that Angelina seemed to have faded from view somehow, overshadowed by Brad – and I’m an equal fan of both. Now that Babel is doing well, TIF and GG is over, he seems to be able to just turn down hype. Yet I have no doubt that when he needs to promote a movie or charitable project, he will know exactly how to build anticipation and turn the volume up again.

But Leive said Pearl and Jolie “have a good rapport and a lot of respect for one another.”
Hopefully, they’ll be on the same good terms after the movie debuts.

Thanks for all the witty converstations from fans. The “concerned” fans are too funny. Just taking the time to write “all this fake and concerned” BS is mind blowing. It is hard to understand why such a person would go through the effort. It is obvious that a lot of BP’s “so called fans” are still stuck on the Golden Couple Age. Leive said Pearl and Jolie have a good rapport and a lot of respect for one another. I read ” A Mighty Heart ” and was very impressed by Mariane’s strength and her view of the world. She is passionate and independent and strong enough to fight with terrorism, cold Journal and some greedy media. She is free-spirit active woman like Angie.
And her view seems similar to Angie. Their priority is fight for the right.

Hopping a flight to Vietnam, and sneaking into the orphanage dressed as a baby complete with baby bonnet and pacifier, Aniston’s hopes were raised when the couple spotted her and wondered why she was such a big girl.
“I was making goo-goo ga-ga sounds in my crib, and when they asked why I was bigger than the other children I said, ‘I’m just big boned’.”
The jig was up; Brad ran screaming from the orphanage and Jolie grabbed Pax, who was in the next crib, and left to join her man.
“I thought I did a good job,” Aniston said, adding, “I squinted my eyes and looked all cute and needy, but I guess they just wanted a boy. Again. Geez, how many kids do they have now? 15 or 16? Jolie flew in Wednesday with 11-month-old Shiloh (presumably back at the hotel), and lunched yesterday at the State Department with Karen Hughes and USAID director Randall Tobias. She wore a gray suit jacket and skirt and a black headband. She flew out after the news conference to dine with foreign-policy types in NYC and attend tonight’s premiere of a documentary she directed.

On the brink of the release of the new Paramount movie about Danny Pearl - the Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and murdered in Pakistan in 2002 - his widow Mariane and the woman who plays her in the movie, Angelina Jolie sat down with Glamour Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive.
The issue that hits newsstands next week marks the first time in three years that Leive has written for the magazine - other than her monthly editor’s note. She last wrote a cover story on Julia Roberts in 2004.
Jolie is cover candy, but she isn’t going to be the cover. “Sex and the City” star Sarah Jessica Parker, who’s debuting a new fashion line, has the cover.
Inside, Leive does allow the Q&A to go long at more than 3,000 words. Leive interviewed Pearl and Jolie in Angelina’s Los Angeles home.

I agree with my B&A buds here that these detractors and their fake tabloid-driven concern is hilarious and as see-thru as cellophane. Amazing how they are always ready to pounce when anything positive (and true, versus tabloid fiction) is reported about the J-P’s. Their sad, tired azzes must be sitting at their screens sping loaded 24/7.
I think Angie looks radiant, and she is doing what she always does at these functions, which is dressing down. She isn’t going to go in there all poofy-haired and painted up a la Oscar night. She wants the focus to be on the issue at hand, not on her. It’s almost like she has to be apologetic for being so beautiful. And if you are one of the ones slamming her for that, then you seriously need to take a look in the mirror at your own countenance and evaluate what your project into the world.
Lastly, I am sure Brad is so proud of her. As someone else already said, their relationship is perfect because she gives him a sense of purpose (which he didn’t have before) and he gives her the stability she needs, to… as AJ herself said in her Vogue interview, “have a place to put her passion and sense of fight”. Angie wants to fight for causes, and Brad supports her 100%. He is her firm foundation, the person she said she is closest to, and just like Cliniqua said, Angie gave him his mojo back, bigtime! If that’s being “emasculated” then I think most men would say, “Bring it on, baby!”
