Angelina Jolie announces the establishment of Global Action for Children (GAC)’s new headquarters in Washington, DC at a news conference held at the National Press Club on Thursday.
Angelina said, “The numbers associated with this problem are staggering. It is overwhelming and the scale of the problem seems to give many an excuse for inaction. In many ways it is better to think of these children one by one — each deserving of our care and attention, each being of equal value, and each being a test of whether justice — or injustice — will prevail.
“I am here to simply ask you to think about orphaned children not as a burden but as a great opportunity. Their education is an investment in our future. … They have had to work very, very hard to survive, but when they are given a chance, they grow strong, stronger than most. … The Lost Boys of Sudan are a great example.”
The GAC is a nonpartisan advocacy organization focused on on increasing funding by $2.5 billion per year by the U.S. government for programs that support orphans and vulnerable children.

Angie is simply being professional looking here (not actress) with sharp dress.
I love the dress and hair style. She does not look old at all- she just has some wrinkles (not use botox). Actually she looks cute and sexy at the same time.
I agree with you. I’m not sure if anyone notices but a lot of actresses out there have faces that do not move. When I look at Angelina’s her face moves, it has life!. Even if she looked “tired” she at least has an expression on her face! Stop and look at her peers sometime you will see what I’m talking about. Nicole Kidman is a good example of freeze face.
I respect what she is doing. She has gone little by little over 6 years to improve in her speaking and improve on geting the message across. I have yet to read from anyone that has worked with her as a humanitarian say she is not honest and real. Other “liberals” could learn from her. Sheryl Crow used her platform to go after Karl Rove and made an ass out of herself and the left, which we did not need. She made jokes about the very issue she wants people to focus on and take seriously. Angelina Jolie along with Bono and countless others have learned to be careful about what they say and when they say it. I just have major major respect for how she has gone about all her work for the UNHCR. And her work with both political parties is also impressive.
As a Hollywood watcher who lives in the Caribbean, I have nothing but admiration for Angelina Jolie and what she’s doing to help orphaned kids and refugees. She could be living a self-indulgent life somewhere in a mansion but instead she’s trekking across the world and seeing first hand the harsh reality of other peoples’ lives.
I think she will always be criticised because the tabloids want to pigeon-hole her in this “celebrity box” where they can pick apart her relationships, clothes, hair etc, and stick her on the cover their mags under some most beautiful or man-eating vixen title. She doesn’t fit the mould of what a hollywood celeb should be like. And that’s why I like her.
What is such the big deal? She goes in and reads talking points that she has memorized. I didnt realize her complexion was so pitted, like pitts. Her smile seems forced. Angelina has lost that inner glow she use to have. I think it is too much botox and heroin.

It’s so pathetic that these people who have commented so negatively about AJ have decided to comment at all . Why are you on this thread ? If you don’t like or respect this woman then why are you here ? You don’t have any news on any other blog about some people you like ? Aren’t the other really neat people doing anything newsworthy ? Don’t any other star rise to the level of AJ? I think not . You need to get over your hate and get educated . Stay out of the rags (tabloids) and really learn some facts about AJ .
There are some really sick people who have decided to post tonite . You are really sad . So its obvious you have absolutely nothing going for you of any thing to be proud of in your life . Do you help anyone outside of your immediate family ? You know that this woman is unbelievelby beautiful inside and outside . You don’t know how to deal with it . I know I’m a little late here but just the same, she looks magnificant. A true classical beauty. But what’s with those two last photos? Nothing against Angie but why the severe photo-cropping of an essentially neutral expression?

Angie is fine. I think a women on this scale in so many areas and her focus is on point–those who have less and giving her time as well as money! Good human being! You will receive as many blessings, that is true!

I used to like her because she seemed to be an independent woman not caring about what people are thinking. Unfortunately, she has changed a lot and desperately wants to improve her image with lots of PR,…..Definitely, she is not beautiful anymore. Her looks have changed as well.

After I gave birth, I became really skinny through breastfeeding. It takes all the fat out of your body! Doesn’t happen to all women, but probably Ange since she is very slim to begin with. Also, after my mum died I looked exhausted and skinny for about 2 years until I came to terms with what happened - give Ange a break, she’s doing her best and has obviously lots of work on and lots of kids. It’s a hard job bringing up a family and then your mum dies as well; a huge emotional toll and very very draining physically as well.
she looks deeply unhappy , tired, sad , i can t define …omg!what happend to that woman..i ve to agree with George here ..he put it right …i agree …i think very very soon will find out what the ***k is really goin on ..n that s gonna be quite an afternoon …like old people say here “WHAT YOU DO - YOU DO IT TO YOURSELF”

Acutally my boyfriend makes me feel like a stunner, furthermore my “critique” as you call it, is my opinion…am i not entitled to have one?.. i’m concerned about her weight and she has lost alot of weight with the stress of her personal life and all..when i lost alot of weight people commented on it and i finally decided to shape myself up.. im a concerned fan…she’s beautiful, just extremely thinner than her ususal and it’s making her look older than what she is! I think eveybody can see that, back off, my comments are not as bad as other posters on this blog! personal attacks are not necessary…and by the way… I like AJ!!!!
