Hugh Jackman on the Set of ‘Australia’

Here are the very first pictures of Hugh Jackman on the set of the much much much anticipated Baz Lurhman epic, Australia.

The buff-bodied bloke was spotted on the set of Australia on Thursday wearing a fake mustache and filming scenes in a tuxedo. Jackman, 38, is said to be playing a cattle driver.

Co-star Nicole Kidman (not pictured) has also started filming. The Aussie actors will remain in Oz until October 2007, when filming is scheduled to wrap up.

Is it me, or is he conjuring up the ghost of Clark Gable in those first two shots? Maybe this actually will be the Gone With The Wind of Australia. My interest has suddenly shot through the roof.

As usual Jared, you are best !! Thanks for these great shots. I agree with the Clark Gable comparison, but Clark never filled out a tux like that! Hugh is gorgeous whatever he wears (or doesn’t wear). Please keep them coming.

I love the guy in the background of the two group shots. He’s just staring at the camera like he knows what’s up. It’s like those Bugs Bunny cartoons where Bugs is hiding in a fake tree moving around all over the place that everyone is oblivious too except for ole’ eagle-eyed Yosemite Sam.

How can I obtain some photos of the filming at Strickland House during the week of 30th April. I had a crowd scene part on the ballroom and we worked for five nights from 4pm to 5am next morning. Whilst a number of photos were taken I cant seem to find any on the website. Can you help. Thanks
