Here is your exclusive access to Angelina Jolie and fellow activist Wyclef Jean at the Tribeca Film Institute Screening of the Jolie-directed documentary A Place In Time, aka A Moment in the World.
The documentary was screened at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center during the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday in New York City, where big brother James Haven (and his rumored girlfriend) was in attendance to lend his support to lil’ sis Angie.
For the film, Angelina sent out 38 film crews to different parts of the world to capture events unfolding during the same three-minute time period. Betcha she caught some very interesting things going on around the world…
Other pictures include Angelina arriving and leaving the festival wearing some killer eye shadow.
Also pictured: NEA President Reggie Weaver, Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education Joel Klein, co-founder of Tribeca Film Festival Jane Rosenthal, actress Bai Ling, and actor Olivier Martinez.

I think LHill is holding up that reunion. What is she up to these days? You never hear or see her at all. They were a great group. Wyclef has found even more fame as a solo performer and with Shakira, but I loved the Fugees’s music.

Angie do your thing…..our girl has her priorities straight - Family, Humanitarian work and creative (Acting) work. She is so focused and organized that yesterday she was in DC and today she’s in NY for two different things but doing it so seamlessly. She is able to apply her full potential because she has such a wonderful partner who has her back and she has his too.

Jesus christ treasurehunter - does Brad have to be there for everything and vice versa? Her Brother was there…if that’s not support, then I don’t know what it is? Support is in many forms…it can be in the form of holding down the fort at home while your partner takes care of business. They leave for Prague soon so Brad must be busy making sure all is fine with his projects, plan B, etc.
By the way….why didn’t you ask where Guy was when Madonna was in Malawi?
Angie looks great, much better than yesterday. Yesterday was more serious and formal though while tonight was more fun. Where was Brad? I keep remembering how Brad went to a premiere and Angie didn’t go with him and he said it was because the flight was too much for the kids when he was turning around and going straight back anyway. I wonder if that was the case here? I bet she is back in LA by tomorrow. It would have been nice to see them together tonight but I am happy to see Angie and James and Wyclef too! I was proud of her yesterday.

#39 - It could be a variety of reasons…
1. the article from yesterday stated she only had Shiloh with her so Brad’s obviously back in LA with their older kids. Doesn’t seem as if they like leaving them without at least one parent present.
2. It’s a two day trip…if she’s just there for a short time why not just breeze in and handle everything and get back home with the least amount of disruption to their family (i.e. the kids).
3. Perhaps they know the bulb of attention burns brighter when they are together…since she did no red carpet and went in through a back service entrance it’s obvious the attention for this showing was not to be a big production and she wanted to avoid the paparazzi. As for Brad’s documentary that was in LA…if her’s had been there as well he probably would have been with her.
4. Another reason could be with the premieres they will have in the next few weeks in Cannes and LA they wanted to minimize saturation because they know the hoopla and mass hysteria will come with those appearances. They don’t really seem to like the crowd attention from what I’ve observed of them thus far.
Again, we won’t know why he didn’t attend unless either of them decide to tell us. Whatever the reason I’m sure they were both comfortable with it.

After the bashing Angie got from the Golden Globe red carpet, It wouldn’t suprise me if they never do a red carpet appearance again. They may go to Cannes to promote their projects , but maybe they won’t go through the red carpet again.

The budget of this documentry was very low (if my memory is correct, she financed about $ 0.5 million). The shooting was done in January 2005. She got the idea of this doc. during her UN work and some her friends (include Holly) joined her to produce this film. Another her friends, Anne Hathaway, Ryan Gosling, Jonny Lee Miller etc went those fields. I guess they did it as volunteers. Anne went Cambodia. She became Angie’s big fan after reading her book “Notes from Africa “.
I don’t think this film is for commercial. I think no red carpet, no pess coverage, no publicity means she wants it be non-commercial.
She look better today. Was that girl behind James, his girl friend ?she is so pretty . I knew James had a long time gf of more than 5 yrs.

EVERYTHING is a ‘time will tell’ situation. No one can predict the future. That being said with everything they have been through in the short time they’ve been together I don’t see these two breaking up soon…certainly not this year. Down the line, maybe. Anything is possible whether your a celebrity on not. Regardless these two will always be a part of the other’s life. That’s what happens when you make/have babies with someone.

I don’t think you’re a hater. You can be secretly envious of a beautiful family and not ‘hate,’ that is what I think you are.
Why else would you think two people who have planned their lives together and speak in the language of a ‘long term relationship’ who have planned and had a child together, who have experienced death together, who work together in each other’s projects, and who have been joined at the hip for the last two years and recently adopted a child, are on the verge and just ‘holding it together.’ I just think you’re jealous, and that you read too many trashloids I would say.

Delusion, they name is all women who don’t like Angelina, because they know the better woman got the good man. They fear they are not it, and never will be anything like that - Jennifer on the other hand, is an achievable goal, her average bordering on unattractive face, her lack of talent, and her self-absorption…many women see themselves in her….AJ is a threat because the bar is too high.
So we get snarky comments like these…they aren’t based necessarily in hate, just pure envy.
But that can quickly develop into hate as we’ve seen with some, the longer Brad and Angie remain happy, as their family grows, and their love remains so obvious, beautiful and strong.

There was no red carpet. Angelina wanted this to be about the film and its message. This was about art and education and kids, not a Hollywood film premiere. Very low key. No publicity, under the radar. No even on a schedule, word of mouth.
Cannes is all about publicity, red carpet to the max. Angelina and Brad will turn on the glow as Cannes is a showcase for the world. Publicity spotlight will be turned on to the highest level.

IMO, this miscroscopic scrutinization with regards to her weight, and being skinny, appears to be more of the same types of comments being made repeatedly about her. Tonight I was invited by my dear brother Natabara Rollosson to attend the premiere of Angelina Jolie’s new documentary film, A Place in Time, at the Tribeca Film Festival.
A Place in Time is an experimental documentary that seeks to capture both the diversity of life around the globe and the commonality of the human spirit by filming in many places around the world at the same moment.
Having traveled the world for years to promote peace, I do believe that we can transcend the barriers of national borders, religions and cultures, and embrace our common dreams, hopes and aspirations. I mean…what is the alternative? What Angelina has sought to do with this film, is to bring our commonalities to life.
Her canvas is the world — it’s people, animals, and geography. Our lens is her compassion-heart. She has enlisted her actor friends and others – including my friend Natabara featured in China – to facilitate the story. Among them, actors Sean Astin (Agentina), Colin Farrell (Italy), Ryan Gosline (Chad), Anne Hathaway (Cambodia) , Djimon Hounsou (Los Angeles, CA), Jude Law (New Orleans, LA), and Hillary Swank (New York, NY).
Each person flew to a unique location in the world with a handheld camera. The crews filmed what they saw around them, as they prepared for the big moment – when everyone would turn on their cameras for three minutes. On January 11, 2005 at 12 noon Greenwich Mean Time, those cameras rolled in 27 locations – including USA (Wisconsin, NY, Nevada, Louisiana, South Dakota and California), Chad, Niger, Kosovo, Italy, Chad, China, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, Iceland, Antarctica and elsewhere.
And underlying the powerful imagery was an extraordinary musical score that lifted the film, written and performed by the great Wyclef Jean.

Angie is a strong beautiful woman who lives life full-on and out loud. She has always been a complex and deep person, that’s why she caught my attention in the first place. As she herself has described, when she was younger she didn’t have a place to channel all her angst and pent-up feelings, so that led to acting out sexually and exploring her darker side… a darker side we ALL have but fail to admit, and certainly won’t explore. She knows herself incredibly well now because she has “been there, done that”. She is evolving and growing into a multi-layered, multi-faceted superstar right before our eyes, and I for one find it interesting. She’s not your common run-of-the-mill actress, she has an old soul and feels emotion intensely. She’s moved on to other forms of expression now that are not as fragmented and sporatic, and she has no need to act out sexually anymore. Brad has given that to her.
Now that she has apparently found a partner that truly knows what she needs and “gets” her, she now has a place to focus all her passion, both for him, and for the others with whom she empathizes. Also, it’s truly glorious that they are determined NOT to be one of these typical celeb couples who are permanently joined at the hip in public like some kind of two-headed monster a la TomKat. B&A are tight and together, but two separate people who love and support each other. They are doing a splendid job of overcoming the dumbazz “Brangelina” moniker. Good for them!
People like Brad and Angie really do “push each other to become better” at everything they do. That’s why we are seeing them both just exploding all over. They spark creativity and passion for all things in each other. And that means they are having the best kind of intercourse…the intellectual kind! (You didn’t think I was going to say that, did you? haha!!) But it’s true, the real love of your life has to satisfy BOTH the physical and intellectual spheres. It appears to me B&A stimulate each other’s minds as well the body. That’s proof enough that they have what it takes to make it for years and years. Didn’t Angie say it was wonderful to have Brad in her life because she can talk to him about the things she cares about? This means he actually listens, and he cares what she is thinking. Shooooot, a woman like Angie knows that doesn’t come along every day. Men like that aren’t terribly common. She knows Brad’s a keeper.
So naturally, anytime Angie steps out of the house and is asserting herself independently (with total back-up from her honey, of course), the small-minded people who are not capable of understanding these things are going to be accusatory at the lowest level of the id. Because that’s all their unevolved little reptilian brains can process. This is life on a plane of existence a pea brain will never comprehend….it’s called “can’t see the forest for the trees”, you know.
Meanwhile, Brad is back home at Casa de Jolie-Pitt, beaming with pride over her accomplishements and encouraging her to do her “thang” in this world. Because that’s what you do when you love someone completely.
And he knows she will be there for him to reciprocate in kind. She does this for him, he does it for her. They have shown already that they do this for each other. I say, let the naysayers keep right on bleating out “Nay!”, “Nay!” until they turn blue in the face…. true idiocy is repeating the same behavior over and over and never getting results. Maybe eventually some of them will figure out they aren’t going to change anything in Angie and Brad’s Universe. Myself, I’d much rather just sit back and enjoy following their respective careers.

Thanks for the article. It was well worth the read. Thanks for all the additional pictures Just Jared. AJ is an amazing woman. She has a beautiful and compassionate soul. Many people try to bring her down but she gets up, brushes herself off and marches on. We should all do the same in our personal lives. There will always be obstacles, doubters, troublemakers, and cynics. However, we should not let them rule our lives and make us doubt ourselves. This is the lesson I get from AJ. She is far from perfect and has made her share of mistakes. Who hasn’t? No one has put her on a pedestal except the critics who are now trying to knock her off it. I love the fact that BP and AJ do what is best for their family and each other and not the rags and the public that watch their every move.

Yup this is the beginning of the end for this couple, in my opinon, Angelina is running off to white house, congress, is about to be voted and become the youngest member of the committee, and Where is Brad? Not by her side like he use to be, you would think something as important as her documentary being screened he would be there, but no where in site. I said it before he is now the third wheel, and while she is going off making accomplishment after accomplishment, he is babysitting. Brad is emasculated by this relationship, and this is the same type of thing that broke up all her previous relationships. With her accomplishing so much, while her partner (gets pushed to sidelines) no mention of him. I also notice that whenever the spotlight is just on her, you get her smiling and happy as ever. Exactly! haha!! Yes, yes, two people have to be surgically sutured together every second of the day or they aren’t supportive of each other. Nobody said these things when Angie stayed home from Toronto, etc…I have a feeling Brad stayed in LA this time to tie up his business, delegate some of his work on all these projects he’s producing, and do some planning for the their trip to Prague. Angie said that Brad makes it happen when they travel. He plans all the days so that there is time for everything…and that means work AND play. Brad’s her man! She’s probably already back home in his arms by now.

Angelina Jolie: It’s kind of hard to explain. I had this feeling that while we’re here talking if people could start to imagine what the world looks like right now while we’re talking, are there child soldiers putting down their guns, are there people who are crossing the border, are there babies being born, are there parties going on? Like just what does the world start to look like and maybe if we could start thinking that way we’d just all behave a little differently towards each other. I guess I live in so many different worlds I started to have these images of all the different worlds in my head that were running simultaneously, so I sent out thirty-eight crews around the world to film on the same day and we all got this look at the world. There were a few actors that participated, not in all thirty eight, but about eleven, that was just nice for me to watch the footage and see them with kids, see them in countries, see them change from the moment they entered an area and by the end they were very different and their experiences of local people.
UMM: That must have cost a lot?
Angelina Jolie: Yeah, and it was out of my pocket. We actually had people come in like certain channels or certain networks to say we’ll fund part of it, we’ll send you the cameras or we’ll give you this much but then it was how much of the actors are in the movie? I said, I don’t know, they may not be in it at all, it might just be them picking up a backpack. Well if we’re going to give you money you promise to have a close up. Everybody went out and really did it for nothing everybody did it for scale who had to do it, it wasn’t like we were all going to the Bahamas, my first husband Johnny went to a mine field in Angola and was living with halo trust, it was all very grass roots.

I don’t think you’re a hater. You can be secretly envious of a beautiful family and not ‘hate,’ that is what I think you are.
Why else would you think two people who have planned their lives together and speak in the language of a ‘long term relationship’ who have planned and had a child together, who have experienced death together, who work together in each other’s projects, and who have been joined at the hip for the last two years and recently adopted a child, are on the verge and just ‘holding it together.’ I just think you’re jealous, and that you read too many trashloids I would say.
Your words would have been better suited for Brad and the ex, who’s 4 and a half year childless union, was actually more like a two year marriage considering they spent 6-8 months apart on average every year. Also the language they used for each other - that he wasn’t the love of her life (so she said), that they never considered their union had to be ‘forever,’ that it ‘could die one day.’ The fact that when they were apart, one was never too anxious to see the other, and the ex actually complained about having to get on a plane and do it.
It’s just odd to me, yet typically catty female, that women continue to see the example of Angelina’s very beautiful close-knit family…a family that works together, loves together, plays together and gives together…..in stark contrast to a distant couple that shared no goals, had nothing in common and from all accounts, most especially their own, was a rough and bumpy relationship despite the ‘golden couple’ fiction, and yet some women are just sooooo eager to see Angelina and Brad go bust…while they NEVER said ‘boo’ about Brad & Jen.
It’s quite sad and pathetic, and says a lot that some women will always root against the beautiful girl with a big heart….while the mediocre untalented stingy millionaire ‘Rachel Green’s’ crumbling relationship was given a pass every time - it seems people turn a blind eye to the reality of what she and Brad actually said about themselves when together.
Meanwhile, Brad and Angelina have voiced nothing but support and love for each other - and have stated their satisfaction over and over again with their lives, and their desire for more children. Their foundation together which has changed and saved lives and is a further testament to their committment and togetherness, is also ignored….
Delusion, they name is all women who don’t like Angelina, because they know the better woman got the good man. They fear they are not it, and never will be anything like that - Jennifer on the other hand, is an achievable goal, her average bordering on unattractive face, her lack of talent, and her self-absorption…many women see themselves in her….AJ is a threat because the bar is too high.
So we get snarky comments like these…they aren’t based necessarily in hate, just pure envy.
But that can quickly develop into hate as we’ve seen with some, the longer Brad and Angie remain happy, as their family grows, and their love remains so obvious, beautiful and strong.
This movie really sounds great. I love movies that take you somewhere else and makes you think. I doubt it will be release world wide and in all theatres, but I will definitely purchase it when it becomes available on DVD. What a creative concept. I bet she and Brad enjoy that part about each other.
Now, as someone who is a member of various fan forums and this blog only (can’t stand the others) it constantly amazes me about these people who claim to be fans of either Brad or Angie. They are almost always stuck in their pasts!! Angie and her wild child days which she left the day she adopted Mad (who will be 6 this year) and Brad waiting for his ex-wife to bear his children (now that is truly emasculating). (The sexiest man in the world has to beg some ugly chick to bear his children and then practically go on national TV to cry about. Just thinking about pisses me off to the nth degree) Now don’t get me wrong, I have loved and supported Brad since I laid eyes on him with IWTV but please the golden Brad was awful. Now that doesn’t mean that I did not support his movies or purchase them because I did and will always do so, but golden Brad was really rather tarnished to me. Brad’s movies were always edgy. They weren’t the average run of the mill (Se7ev, Kalifornia, and Fight Club). He could have easily played the pretty boy role to his advantage and made just as much money. I am glad that he is back to accepting roles and producing roles that are both creative and edgy.
RE: Angie not having any friends. Real friends will gladly work without pay whereas so called friends always want something out of the deal ie. Publicity, money, etc. Now who has real friends?

I am impressed. Angie’s friends who participated in this movie are positive doers like she is. Maybe Wylef will release some of the music he provided for the movie’s soundtrack.
Interesting that Brad went to a number of Babel events (LA, Palm Springs, Toronto), in LA on business in Feb re AOJJ without Angelina, and few exclamations of trouble were heard. She attends meetings in DC without Brad (which she has done before) and then flies to NYC for the TFF for her film (her brother James is there to support here as he was in 2005) and cries (more like desperate wishes) in the wilderness of trouble are heard. For all anyone knows, all the Jolie-Pitts are in NYC, they are very good at going under the rader undetected most of the time. Brad was in NYC with Angelina and Maddox and Zahara most of August and September 2005 and while some pics emerged of a few visits by him, only later did the knowledge of how much he was there leak out.
Pax is probably rapidly picking up english especially with an older sibing around. They are doing the right thing in shielding the kids except for a few photos which is allowing them time to bond in peace with the newest little Jolie-Pitt. It will be interesting to see the dynamic of all four kids intracting at some point. I can’t imagine the logistics involving with travelling with 4 kids under six, all still requiring some type of car seat.

These are very important issues for her to attend to now that she is going back to work after 6 MONTHS. The last time JOLIE worked was Nov 2006. She never ever told the media in Vietnam that she was quiting work. She specifically said that now that I am not working, I am going to stay home and help Pax adjust. She has been doing just that since late March to almost May. That is more than 1 month of staying put at home. However, she had to attend to these important issues in DC and NYC.

Tonight I was invited by my dear brother Natabara Rollosson to attend the premiere of Angelina Jolie’s new documentary film, A Place in Time, at the Tribeca Film Festival.
A Place in Time is an experimental documentary that seeks to capture both the diversity of life around the globe and the commonality of the human spirit by filming in many places around the world at the same moment.
Having traveled the world for years to promote peace, I do believe that we can transcend the barriers of national borders, religions and cultures, and embrace our common dreams, hopes and aspirations. I mean…what is the alternative? What Angelina has sought to do with this film, is to bring our commonalities to life.
Her canvas is the world — it’s people, animals, and geography. Our lens is her compassion-heart. She has enlisted her actor friends and others – including my friend Natabara featured in China – to facilitate the story. Among them, actors Sean Astin (Agentina), Colin Farrell (Italy), Ryan Gosline (Chad), Anne Hathaway (Cambodia) , Djimon Hounsou (Los Angeles, CA), Jude Law (New Orleans, LA), and Hillary Swank (New York, NY).
Each person flew to a unique location in the world with a handheld camera. The crews filmed what they saw around them, as they prepared for the big moment – when everyone would turn on their cameras for three minutes. On January 11, 2005 at 12 noon Greenwich Mean Time, those cameras rolled in 27 locations – including USA (Wisconsin, NY, Nevada, Louisiana, South Dakota and California), Chad, Niger, Kosovo, Italy, Chad, China, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, Iceland, Antarctica and elsewhere.
And underlying the powerful imagery was an extraordinary musical score that lifted the film, written and performed by the great Wyclef Jean.
Why is a film like this needed? Simple. We need to educate children of developed nations, especially, who will be the leaders of tomorrow. Unfortunately, it will take decades to solve today’s problems.
Having worked in support of peace and global understanding through my own efforts as organizer of the Global Peace Run and at the United Nations, I believe Angelina has succeeded with this huge undertaking. And there are moments in the film that brought me to tears because I was overwhelmed by the pain and suffering of those less fortunate.
Angelina Jolie was appointed UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador in August 2001. To raise awareness and support for refugees she has traveled to Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Balkans and the North Caucasus. Jolie has also been a generous contributor to UNHCR’s programs around the world.
After the film, I had a chance to speak extensively with her. I’ve worked with dozens of celebrities. Many are talking heads who really care little for the causes they stand for. They do it because it makes good PR sense.
Angelina Jolie does it because she cares. And her presence is radiant. You can feel qualities of love, devotion, humility, poise, beauty and compassion. Her voice is thoughtful and intelligent. And she uses her power of her celebrity -in her life and through this film - to focus our attention and the media’s lens and pen - on key issues: refugee rights, the AIDS epidemic in Africa, poverty in Haiti and Niger, the conflict in Kosovo, global warming, victims of land mines in Cambodia and rehabilitation programs that provide them with needed prostheses and wheelchairs.
She mentioned that yesterday she visited the White House, Congress and met with the Council on Foreign Relations. Bless her!

Thank you, thank you. You know I read that years ago in a Reader’s Digest at the gym. I admire him for being so honest. That statement sums up all of the hate posted on the various blogs around the world. Another woman that is hated for no reason by both men and women is Martha Stewart. Martha is not beautiful like Angie, but she has succeeded beyond expectations, and on her own terms. Martha just isn’t into the humanitarianism like Angie. Oprah is another strong woman, but Oprah doesn’t threaten women in the same way as Angie. Halle Barry does to some lesser degree, but people sort of dismiss her because of her bad marriage choices.
But Angie leads the list simply because she is first of all intelligent, then beautiful. If she were beautiful but dumb there wouldn’t be a problem. But to be intelligent, respected in and out of HW, Washington, beautiful, global in her interests, and above all honest about her past indiscretions is too much for most people to handle, even a former husband. Thank you Jared for the new thread. All I need to say about the pictures is that Angie looks breathtakenly beautiful!! The documentary sounds very intersting and a great reflection of Angie’s work for the last five years . I’m glad that it was shown to the studens. It will be a great eye opener for them.
To the ones comfused about Angie’s outfits. In the pics where she is wearing the pants she is arriving to her Hotel in NYC in early afternoon yesterday. The pics with the skirt are when she arrived in the Tribeca Performing Arts Center in late afternoon yesterday.
For those who are keep asking where is Brad. Did ever occure to you that these people are having four kids to take care?? Please pray tell me what is the use for getting four kids to travel all over America for just a tow day trip and then travel once again back home?? Wasn’t it more convinient for Angie to go and take care of her buissines while Brad stays with the kids back home to take care of his Production Company and the last details of their imminent trip to Europe. The family is leaving the States in a few days. Isn’t that supporting one another?? I dont know why some people can not wrap their minds around a father taking care of his own kids. The love and devotion are not shown by counting Red Carpet appearences.It is shown when the one is willng to help the other to accoplish his/her dreams and goals. And in fact in this case it wasn’t even a Red Carpet event. The documentary was shown in a Teaching program of Tribeca for students. Angie even exited the building from the back door So it wasnt even to bring more attention to the film.
Angie attented the GGTOU premiere because first it was in L.A and they didn’t have to travel all over the place to get there. It was much easier for them to leave the kids for a couple of hours back home. And second that was indeed a Red Carpet event and the appearence of both Brad and Angie would have a great impact in the documentary’s promotion.
For the ones who are keep counting for the desmise of these couple I say keep counting folks.And you won’t stop anytime soon. These people are always talking on terms of a long time relationship. These people have manage to stay together and strong through death, birth ,adopting,critsism, admiration..EVERYTHING. They never had these expiriences with anyone else before. They have a very exaptional connection to one another. They are not the ordinary blond and superficial couple of Hollywood like the Tabs want them to be.
You always heard them speaking with a great respect and admiration for each other. You never saw them being apart from one another more than a week. Their actions are speaking on their own.

Teacher/Student Says - wishing a disease on somebody will backfire on you so bad you’ll wish you had a different life. ‘Cause you know one of your family members (your mother, father, brothers, sisters) or yourself could contract that same disease from anywhere and it won’t be a laughing matter then. As you point your self-righteous finger at Angie, four more are pointing back at you, and whatever bad thing you’re wishing for her might come back tenfold to you. Wyclef Jean is a very good friend of both Brad and Angie. They are both supporting his Yele Haiti foundation. Their pictures when they went in Haiti last year to meet Wyclef and Angie was about four months pregnant are among my all time favourites!! LOL!!
Brad was also photographed shaking hands with Jean in the fundriser M.Damon hosted after the TIFF.
WJ have done some great things and it’s really nice that they have him as a friend.

People have always wrongly assumed this based what I can only conclude is “appearance.” He’s never said he was gay, nor has his sister ever suggested it. He would have no reason to hide it, and judging from Angelina never hesitating to reveal herself, I have no doubt James would feel just as free to say it if he was gay. It’s just another example of how we judge the outer based on what society has decided this/that must mean and I’ve been just as gulity at times.

I remember when the media and people were making a big deal about Oprah and Gayle, saying they are gay because of their closeness. They went on Larry King when they were promoting Oprah’s new radio show and I remember Oprah said that people want to put a label on what they don’t understand and I now realize how true that is. People want to put all sorts of labels on Angie because they don’t understand her type of woman. She’s not a typical movie star, girlfriend/wife, mother, humanitarian, philanthropist, pilot, advocate. She is all of those things and then some. That confuses people and so they want to put labels on her that make them feel comfortable about themselves.

Tonight I was invited by my dear brother Natabara Rollosson to attend the premiere of Angelina Jolie’s new documentary film, A Place in Time, at the Tribeca Film Festival.
A Place in Time is an experimental documentary that seeks to capture both the diversity of life around the globe and the commonality of the human spirit by filming in many places around the world at the same moment.
Having traveled the world for years to promote peace, I do believe that we can transcend the barriers of national borders, religions and cultures, and embrace our common dreams, hopes and aspirations. I mean…what is the alternative? What Angelina has sought to do with this film, is to bring our commonalities to life.
Her canvas is the world — it’s people, animals, and geography. Our lens is her compassion-heart. She has enlisted her actor friends and others – including my friend Natabara featured in China – to facilitate the story. Among them, actors Sean Astin (Agentina), Colin Farrell (Italy), Ryan Gosline (Chad), Anne Hathaway (Cambodia) , Djimon Hounsou (Los Angeles, CA), Jude Law (New Orleans, LA), and Hillary Swank (New York, NY).
Each person flew to a unique location in the world with a handheld camera. The crews filmed what they saw around them, as they prepared for the big moment – when everyone would turn on their cameras for three minutes. On January 11, 2005 at 12 noon Greenwich Mean Time, those cameras rolled in 27 locations – including USA (Wisconsin, NY, Nevada, Louisiana, South Dakota and California), Chad, Niger, Kosovo, Italy, Chad, China, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, Iceland, Antarctica and elsewhere.
And underlying the powerful imagery was an extraordinary musical score that lifted the film, written and performed by the great Wyclef Jean.
Why is a film like this needed? Simple. We need to educate children of developed nations, especially, who will be the leaders of tomorrow. Unfortunately, it will take decades to solve today’s problems.
Having worked in support of peace and global understanding through my own efforts as organizer of the Global Peace Run and at the United Nations, I believe Angelina has succeeded with this huge undertaking. And there are moments in the film that brought me to tears because I was overwhelmed by the pain and suffering of those less fortunate.
Angelina Jolie was appointed UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador in August 2001. To raise awareness and support for refugees she has traveled to Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Balkans and the North Caucasus. Jolie has also been a generous contributor to UNHCR’s programs around the world.
After the film, I had a chance to speak extensively with her. I’ve worked with dozens of celebrities. Many are talking heads who really care little for the causes they stand for. They do it because it makes good PR sense.
Angelina Jolie does it because she cares. And her presence is radiant. You can feel qualities of love, devotion, humility, poise, beauty and compassion. Her voice is thoughtful and intelligent. And she uses her power of her celebrity -in her life and through this film - to focus our attention and the media’s lens and pen - on key issues: refugee rights, the AIDS epidemic in Africa, poverty in Haiti and Niger, the conflict in Kosovo, global warming, victims of land mines in Cambodia and rehabilitation programs that provide them with needed prostheses and wheelchairs.
She mentioned that yesterday she visited the White House, Congress and met with the Council on Foreign Relations. Bless her!

The pregnancy watch for the Shiloh Angelina baby “bump” began with an overheard comment from a CAA employee at a party. I must confess that I would not be surprised if she is indeed pregnant. Julia Roberts is filming a movie right now and she is pregnant supposely due in June and this is almost May, and ReeseW worked on a movie when she was 6-7 months pregnant with Deacon. If she is only a few months pregnant, depending on how the film is shot, she could certainly do the film. Dallas Howard worked on Spiderman 3 doing all kinds of stunts and only realized she was pregnant after performing them. Remember Angelina worked while pregnant with Shiloh. Time will answer this question.

Okey, Brad and Angelina’s fans please DON’T bite my head off, if this rumor is NOT true; but there is a Rumor at the CAA agency that Angelina may be PREGNANT!! Yeah, apparently Angelina is pregnant and this is the real reason that she is been having “health” problems!!
I heard this rumor last night from a guy that works at the CAA agency (the same agency that represents Brad), he told me that this rumor is all over the agency.
But i don’t know whether to believe him; because Angelina is going to be filming “Wanted”, so how can she be pregnant if she is going to be filming this movie??, but this was exactly what this guy told me last night!! So i don’t know!!

Angelina Jolie Sneaks into Tribeca Film Festival
New York, April 27, 2007 – Our phone started buzzing on Friday morning with rumors that Angelina Jolie would make a top secret appearance at a Tribeca Film Festival screening of a documentary that she directed with the working title A Moment in the World. So we called those cinema sleuths over at The Reeler- they’d broken that news over a month ago – and they already had the scoop.
Jolie apparently wanted no media attention; the film was not listed on any of the Tribeca Film Festival literature. The unannounced screening for Bronx Preparatory Charter School students took place around 2 P.M. on Friday at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center, and Jolie did appear.
Those folks, including the Open All Night crew, who gathered at TPAC later in the afternoon for the world premiere of The Grand, saw school children streaming out of the theater, followed by Angelina herself.
The title of the film had been changed on brochures that attendees carried.

Actually…I think it’s a testimony to Angie someone as superficial as Bai Ling made an appearance at a VERY LOW KEY showing of her documentary. There was no a tremendous amount of press advertising this event. Furthermore…not only did she make an effort to be seen somewhere other than a club or bar…but she’s not wearing her usual Ho Gear and doesn’t look like she took a 10 minute break from her corner to come in out of the cold. I think anyone who can get Bai Ling to cover up her boobs and belly covered at a public event should be commended. Angie deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for that accomplishment alone.

Every effort was made to keep this quiet. Angelina did not go to NYC for publicity, she went to present her film, and she succeeded. If Brad and the kids had been seen in NYC then pandemonium would have ensued and ruined the effort to keep this presentation about the topic of the film, this was not about attracting unwanted personal attention of any kind. As usual, Brad and Angelina planned well. They know what they are doing, and what is important to them.
