Angelina Jolie @ Tribeca Film Festival
Here is your exclusive access to Angelina Jolie and fellow activist Wyclef Jean at the Tribeca Film Institute Screening of the Jolie-directed documentary A Place In Time, aka A Moment in the World.
The documentary was screened at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center during the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday in New York City, where big brother James Haven (and his rumored girlfriend) was in attendance to lend his support to lil’ sis Angie.
For the film, Angelina sent out 38 film crews to different parts of the world to capture events unfolding during the same three-minute time period. Betcha she caught some very interesting things going on around the world…
Other pictures include Angelina arriving and leaving the festival wearing some killer eye shadow.
Also pictured: NEA President Reggie Weaver, Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education Joel Klein, co-founder of Tribeca Film Festival Jane Rosenthal, actress Bai Ling, and actor Olivier Martinez.

Angie has turned her life around no doubt, however, those pictures where wycleff is staring at her (not in a friendly way, but in I want you way) and Angelina wearing a see through shirt coming out of wherever, does not look right. He is married so it is not right or respectful not only to his wife but to he so called friend Brad. Angelina has bodyguards , why does she need him to escort her to the car, anyway you look at it , those pictures don’t look right. If you look at the whole set, the way wycleff is staring at her, is not the way any man stare at his “friends” partner. That is why in the video (on splash) you hear the female pap call out and say “Angelina and Wycleff…” if you look at Angelina face , she trys to play it cool but looks disgusted. Well she shouldn’t be escorted by another man , looking like that. If it was reverse and Brad was escorting and looking at a friend the way Wycleff looks at Angelina , then it would also be not right. If Wycleff wanted to walk her to the car, fine, but he should be more respectful. When tabloids create more stories next week just by the pictures, then she can’t complain.

aniston was pictured being escorted by her bff’s husband…noone said anythin…but it’s angie we’re talkin bout…no guy can resist lookin at her in “that “way…not her fault…plus there were other ppl in the car too..so whatevs!!!

goodnite!
Thanks so much for the link to the AJ MP interview!
The interview sounds wonderful and clears out a lot of things.
THANK YOU
Why is Bai Ling mentioned?
Bai Ling is Chinese.
The poster “interesting” is a RACIST. I’ve seen the negative comments from her about Z in prior threads. . Now, she is bringing in Bai Ling. This is not due to of Bai Ling’s sexual preference. The hater brought her in because the hater is a RACIST AND BECAUSE Bai Ling is Chinese. The hater hates non American.

Looking forward to the Glamour article. Looking forward to seeing AMH though I’ll probably have to bring wads of tissues.
The interview debunks the claims that Marianne didn’t have a say in who should play her part and was forced to accept a white woman, Angelina to play her role. It seems Marianne was probably most comfortable with having a good and close friend play her on screen rather than a stranger - like Thandie Newton.
Also, I want to correct something I wrote about feminism. Actually, feminism started even earlier then 50 years ago if one counts (and one should count them) the suffragettes who struggled for womenn to have the right to vote (and if I’m not mistaken, the right to own property as a married woman), therefore giving women a direct stake in the politics of the nation and assets of the country. Their struggle started more than 100 year ago.
Haters are mentioning Wycleff because he is Black.
Had he been white, haters would NOT say anything.

OT: Fairy Tales
Hi Stranger, I remember now that you said you were fluent in german. Have you read the unedited versions of Grimm??
I suppose life was harsh in the old days. People died young. Punishment for mistakes or weaknesses could be fatal. No wonder the old stories were full of Grimmness:) I must try to find the unedited translated versions and read them myself.
I love the traditions of oral story telling. I love story telling to my daughter. I do make up stories for her and I must confess that they are often accompanied by a good dose of morals and punishment. Like the untidy girl who never puts anything away, eats cookies in her bed and spills apple juice on the floor and is woken up at night after being bitten by ants crawling all over her (in my part of the world, there are ants everywhere). Hope it doesn’t give her nightmares too:)
Cool . I can’t wait to read the whole interview. Seems like a good one.
If I were BP, of all the men around AJ, I’d be concerned about the young
and AB-FAB OLIVIER!
Wycliff is Angie’s friend for a long time. He even announced her pregnancy to
People and the world.
What was OLIVIER doing there???????????????????????
I know, I know, Angie is a one-man-woman, BUT Olivier is Olivier is Olivier.
Enough said.
Anistonisaliar (your name sound like a new disease), thanks for the refreshing article from glamour.
It seems Angie was meant to play Mariane’s role.
Lylian,
German is my native language!!
If you like fairy tales, I have two wonderful links for you, you can read the stories online.
Here are some of the Grimm’s fairy tales in English
http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/grimmtales.html
There are some tales that are not bloody and you could read to your daughter, I personally like Frau Holle, Hans in Luck, Bearskin. Particularly bloody and scary: Fitcher’s Bird, The Girl Without Hands, The Willful Child,
And this one is an index of e-texts that include Aesop’s fables, Hans Christian Andersen’s tales and many more.
http://www.pitt.edu/~dash/folktexts.html
I hope you like them!
It’s late and my post is awaiting moderation, so I’ll post it in two parts, sorry for the double post.

The stereo typing of men and women really saddens me. Clearly stereo types are difficult to shake off, even in the birth place of feminism – America, even 50 years after the start of feminism.
******************************************
That’s a great observation lylian.
One thing that I noticed is that though women’s lib movement made headways and aided in paving the way for women’s rights and equality but it’s also a shame that those in the forefront of the movement seems to be hell bent in making men as the common enemy. In some way, the idea that if makes you less of a woman if you recognize the differences between a man and a woman, and acknowledge the fact there are areas when/that men are stronger or if you stand behind your man and support your man. Why do we have to set up enemy or demarcation lines?
And on the other side of the coin, there are those who demonize women who seem to have found a way of balancing being a woman of the world and also enjoys and relishes being a lover, a mother, a socially aware citizen and be successful in their chosen fields.
And sadly we see a handful of them posting here. I say “handful” because most of the women of these world are busy living their lives, carving their own niche, making their mark, surviving, fighting for an existence, and helping people and making a difference in this world. I don’t think a woman struggling to makes ends meet or barely surviving in a hand-to-mouth existence will neither have the luxury of time nor the inclination & heart to spout hatred against a woman who fights for basic rights of women and children. I don’t see women in remote villages toiling their farms along with their men malign somebody who gave deserving families a chance to better their lives thru livelihood programs, for that is their hope too - alieviating themselves from dire poverty and enjoy the fruits of their labor and realize their goal of sustainable economic freedom. How can a mother in a refugee camp utter such vile words against a woman who held her hand and listened to her story and one who voices their concerns and echoes it to the ears of those that cares enough to understand, and carries it to those people who have the power to put programs into actions.
It is no wonder that women of equal strength understands and admires all these aspects of Angelina Jolie and her like - because they see and recognize the same weaknesses and strengths in themselves.
There are many women who exemplies the true essence of being a woman (in the words of Sushmita Sen), those that leads by example - and Angelina Jolie and Marriane Pearl are one of them.
THANK YOU!! THANK YOU; poster #932 for the interview!!

BODY DOUBLES WANTED: Principal photography may have wrapped on Brad Pitt’s “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” but there’s some interesting post-production shooting at hand on the David Fincher film. Casting forces on the flick, from F. Scott Fitzgerald’s story of a man who begins life in his 80s and reverse-ages, have been seeking body doubles for Pitt and leading lady Cate Blanchett — including a 26-year-old version of Pitt, a lean 155 pounds at 5-foot-11. Casting notices refer to the wearing of a G-string and possible rear nudity. Then there’s a body double wanted for Blanchett as she might appear at 56, a 5-foot-9 actress willing to don pasties and a G-string and maybe show her backside as well.
Also, they’ve been looking for twins to portray Pitt’s character at … 4 months old. The production is specifying “happy babies only,” an interesting note in the wake of stories that baby Shiloh Jolie-Pitt won a role in the picture when the twins initially hired to portray Cate as a baby could not be calmed down enough to shoot. Mellow, cheerful Shiloh was brought in on her daddy’s advice and saved the day. Not bad for a 10-month-old.

PLease can someone explain me when 922# say “Knockout going where she never going before” thank.English is not my first language.
Have a nice day ladies.
You know I just read part of the interview, and I am upset . Marianne Pearl lets the cat out of the bag. Jennifer Aniston and her friends should hang their heads in shame. This interview puts to rest to lies that have been said about Brad.
Excerpt from Vanity Fair:
“When Brad and Jen were in the marriage, having a baby was not his priority—ever,” says one mutual friend. “It was an abstract desire for him, whereas for Jen it was much more immediate. So is there a part of Brad that’s diabolical? Did he think, I need to get out of this marriage, but I want to come out smelling like a rose, so I’m going to let Jen be cast as the ultra-feminist and I’m going to get cast as the poor husband who couldn’t get a baby and so had to move on?”
From The Upcoming Glamour Magazine
CL: And was the movie a thought for either of you at that point?
MP: …I had met with Brad separately about the movie, [but] he wasn’t connected at all with Angie at that time. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to do a movie…. Everybody was using terrorism for their own political agenda at that time, and really, this is a story about Danny. But when I met Brad—well, out of all the studios, he was the only one who had actually read the book!
AJ: Really?
MP: Really…and I could see already that he wanted to have children, and to raise them in a world of tolerance…. I don’t think I would have done it if I didn’t feel a direct connection to Brad and, then, Angie.
The next interview Aniston does, someone should ask her point blank. To address the situation. Aniston should not be allowed to give any more interviews while hiding behind sources called “mutual friend”. I am truly disgusted, and I now realize that kids were a major reason for Brad’s divorce. Pearl said that for a reason, because she knows the truth as Angie’s friend she put that out there, and I am happy, at least another side is out there.
Another issue while Aniston is always quick to deny rumors, about nose jobs, or anything that she feels is damaging to her image, she NEVER denies rumors that put Brad and Angie in a bad light. It is NOW more than obvious that this role was never hers to begin with and the only reason plan b got the rights was due to Brad, not Aniston. When it was announced that Angie would play Pearl, Brad and Angie were put in a bad light, on entertainment shows, and print, the media made it seem like this was her role. She did nothing to deny it. Gave interviews and never said anything to correct it.
Honestly she should be ashamed of herself and be truthful. The media is not doing thier job, and the next publication or journalist , that interviews this pathetic excuse for a decent human being, needs to ask her the tough questions, ask her point blank to tell the bloody truth.
Do you guys realize that after the divorce, almost every interview she did, mentioned how much she wanted kids, Oprah mentioned it, In Style, Larry King, but the day it was announced that Brad and Angie were expecting, the subject of children has never been brought up again. This trick needs to be called out and if she is suppose to be classy, then she needs to tell the truth.
Anistonisaliar, Where did you hear about Brad and Angie expecting a child?
I also don’t believe Jennifer could possibly play the role of marianne pearl. I don’t have anything against her, just don’t think she would be right. I read an interview where Aniston said she wished she could have that part. Booo Hoo! Angie and Pearl are very similar people and the photos of Angie on set are very convincing. Can’t wait for the movie to come out.
Brad, Angie and the kids are awesome!

I agree, good post and thanks for posting the interview. Whatever happened to objectivity in journalism/media? The media is almost always slanted in one way or another. I guess nobody questioned her hard because at the time everyone thought she was going to break out a la nicole kidman, post divorce. I bet in four years time she will regret VF, and acknowlege her part in the divorce just like paltrow did!
