Angelina Jolie @ Tribeca Film Festival
Here is your exclusive access to Angelina Jolie and fellow activist Wyclef Jean at the Tribeca Film Institute Screening of the Jolie-directed documentary A Place In Time, aka A Moment in the World.
The documentary was screened at the Tribeca Performing Arts Center during the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday in New York City, where big brother James Haven (and his rumored girlfriend) was in attendance to lend his support to lil’ sis Angie.
For the film, Angelina sent out 38 film crews to different parts of the world to capture events unfolding during the same three-minute time period. Betcha she caught some very interesting things going on around the world…
Other pictures include Angelina arriving and leaving the festival wearing some killer eye shadow.
Also pictured: NEA President Reggie Weaver, Chancellor of the New York City Department of Education Joel Klein, co-founder of Tribeca Film Festival Jane Rosenthal, actress Bai Ling, and actor Olivier Martinez.

I have much higher hopes for “A Mighty Heart”…remember the penguin movie? No one ever dreamed a tiny documentary about penguins’ lives would take over the entire world, run for a year in theatres and make so much money. I think there will be great interest in the story and in Angelina’s performance. Fingers crossed…

Please. Most Americans are culturally illiterate, they won’t see this movie, they don’t even know who Daniel Pearl is! This movie will only appeal to East/West coast liberals & Washington DC types.
And at the end of the day, who cares? If you’re not a stockholder in Paramount, there’s really no reason to care how much money it makes.
Me three or four!! I admire and love Angie even more for making Brad a daddy. And I just think that Shiloh is sooo adorable. I hope Brad and Angie will live happily ever after. :-)
thanks guys for the link to the glamour interview, I can’t wait to read it..
For the full interview—including more on how Mariane and Angelina feel about motherhood, loss, risk-taking and love—
oohh sounds good…… !

Substitute teacher
Good morning, students, we’d like you to meet your new teacher: Miss Angelina Jolie. The luscious-lipped Oscar winner stirred remarkable enthusiasm for geography - especially from the boys - last Friday when she screened her directorial debut, “A Place in Time,” for 600 New York high school kids. Jolie sent camera crews to capture life in 27 locations around the globe during a single week. Jude Law, Ryan Gosling, Hilary Swank and Colin Farrell are among the 14 celeb correspondents who visit orphanages, refugee camps and struggling villages in the experimental film - and who, at one point, all get on the phone together. National Education Association President Reg Weaver said he’ll push to make the poignant movie a teaching tool nationwide. City Schools Chancellor Joel Klein “applauded” the idea. After the Tribeca Film Institute screening, Jolie, Bai Ling, Ethan Hawke, and Olivier Martinez met up at Unik’s Gin Lane, where Jolie’s music director, Wyclef Jean, and five conga players encouraged “Teach” to let down her hair. Throwing her arms in the air, Jolie gave Martinez a samba lesson he won’t forget.
But, not to worry, Brad, her pupil headed home alone.
Ya know what I knew jolie would go back to her old ways, why is she their dancing with another man in that way , it is damn shame.
AMH will make money.

Tokyo - Seven people have complained of nausea and other sickness while watching the Oscar-nominated Hollywood movie Babel at two theatres in Japan, theatre managers said on Monday.
The cause of the sickness is believed to be a scene in which Japanese actress Rinko Kikuchi, playing a high school girl, dances in a club with flashing and swirling strobe lights for a couple of minutes.
The scene left five women feeling sick at at the Midland Square Cinema in the central Japan city of Nagoya on Saturday when the movie made its debut across the country, theatre manager Toshiyuki Ichiji told AFP by telephone.
On Sunday, a man also reported he felt similar symptoms while watching the scene at the 200-seat theatre.
At another theatre in nearby Yokkaichi, the husband of a senior couple needed time to rest and recover from sickness after watching the movie.
“We are handing out a handbill advising customers not to focus on the screen but to look away appropriately during the scene,” Ichiji said, adding that the warning was also sometimes given verbally before screening the movie.
Takashi Hattori, the manager of 109 Cinemas company in Yokkaichi, said he was preparing to issue a similar health warning to viewers.
The film, directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett, is a complex tale about cultural and emotional clashes in today’s globalised world shot in several countries and five languages.
It received seven Oscar nominations this year with Kikuchi, relatively unknown at home, nominated for best supporting actress.
The cinema sickness recalled an incident in December, 1997, in which hundreds of children across Japan were taken to hospitals with convulsions after watching a television cartoon based on Nintendo’s Pocket Monsters.
The seizures were blamed on a scene depicting an explosion followed by five seconds of flashing red lights from the sparkling eyes of popular animated character Pikachu.
At that time, some medical experts said bright flashes of light and colour from a television screen could cause symptoms similar to epilepsy.

Whatever, you tell me, if this woman is suppose to be in a committed relationship, and she has her kid back at the hotel, would she decide to dance for and with Olvier Martinez, Bai Ling only appeared in pictures right? She can only keep up appearances for so long, and I hope Brad gets out of the picture, I knew from the way she looked in those pictures it was not a look of innocence, jolie can not see a man and keep a respectable distance, I can’t to see the tabloids next week, and I wonder if Brad was invited to her Shindig or if he was told to stay home with his children. How soon before they split any guess?
The budget money for the movie is low. It’s going to make more than its share of money just like Babel. End of discussion.
Can you believe that article about Babel?
I was ROTFLMAO!
Anyway, speaking of Babel, which just opened in Japan - making people sick…
Babel has made so far $ 34,780,000 just in rentals.
if brad was out all night dancing the samba with girls , it would not be right either.
its innappropriate.
#1012 stranger,That was funny!Thank you for the article.
I am sorry , I told you something was off this woman, look at how she was dressed that night, and why would Wycleff encourage her to do what she did. She is bored already with Brad, and her intentions are not pure. Where is Sheri now?
Plis someone can remove the pathetic of interesting.is going to return to ruin everything

Stranger, national TV also broadcasted nationwide that report.
The distributor said Babel drew 200,000 people to the theater in first 2 days. That is, it earned more than $2.5 million. I’m wondering people’s reaction to this news.
Hiya, stranger! Good morning! Also to Isabelle II, and to BAMPZS fans all over the world.
It was wonderful to see the legitimate press (at least here in Chicago) mention Angelina’s documentary last Friday, with no mention of her personal life at all. Just details about the documentary, and the students with whom she spent some time with.
Sometimes all this focus on her personal life, with all the dissection and overanalyzing of who she was with, did she flirt with them, why was Brad at home, etc etc can be SO SO MUCH, IT IS SO MUCH MINUTIAE, it takes so much away from what Angelina is trying to do. And on this fine morning, I for one will not even go there!!!
I hope AMH makes enough money to at least recoup the expenses. I know that it coming in the middle of blockbuster season (what with Spider-Man 3, Shrek 3, Fantastic Four 2, The Bourne Ultimatum, even O13) will probably be dwarfed, but hopefully there will be segments of the movie-going public that will not want to go with cartoons or super-heroes, but go with a real life story of despair and hope, of love and humanity.
