What a nice article excerpt and picture. It’s great these ladies are actually friends and were PRIOR to her and Brad ever coming to be. Now people can stop with the nonsense theory of Marianne HAVING to accept Angie to play the part just because Brad was the producer of the film. I´m sorry for my English:
I don’t understand because in this world there are so much people full with hate and wickedness toward the other ones. When I was small, my grandmother always told me that if I wanted the wrong to somebody, that wrong would return to me two times. My cousin is as high as Angelina and weight less, she is healthy, she eats enough, but she is always thin. I eat little, and I am always battling with my weight. All the people that announce their hate here, are faithful witness of the bad thing that the American society is. The murderer of V-Tech it is a sample of the madness of that country. In these days, I was seeing CNN en español and a psychiatrist said that of each 4 people, one suffered of psychiatric problems, and that of each four people with psychiatric, alone problems one looked for medical help. When I began to come to here I didn’t understand because they were this way these people. I know the answer now. If these sick people of the soul and of the mind, they used the force with which they hate to make something positive (orphans, sick with AIDS, homeless, refugees, mistreated women, global heating, junkie, alcoholic) this planet would be another thing.
Am not I saying that all the Americans are crazy, but like it is possible that a guy like Sanjaya are above AJ, when me such a ridiculous and mediocre person had never seen as him?. I am fanatic of Brad for many years and now of Angelina because she gave him what Juliette, Gwyneth and Jennifer didn’t want or they were not able to: Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt. And what happens, happen they separate or not, Angelina will always be her mom and Brad her dad. And that for me, is enough. I believe that the reason (I am possibly mistaken) for the one that people hate Angelina, it is because she is all that they are not. I suppose that most of people hoped Shiloh was daughter of JA and not of Angie. Now, an ironic question of course: if she has been so sincere all her life for that it misses reason she would be with brad if she and he are not happy? I don’t simply conceive the idea that she is not happy with him.
The truth is that at the beginning of the divorce, I hated Angie, but as soon as she was embarrassed of Shiloh, it began me to please, anyway it doesn’t care how many people they love them or how many people hate them, they will live their lives like it seems them. I would make the same thing. Hate me if that makes it happy. Pitifully I won’t be able to see neither Cannes neither any premiere in the carpet, since I will be operated of the eyes for that date. That pain!!!!

This will be an interesting interview, can’t wait to read it. I’ve long been an admirer of Marianne Pearl and honestly I was skeptical of the movie because I didn’t think it would do justice to the Marianne and Danny I’ve come to know through reading about them. Marianne is such a postive, courageous voice in the world and reading how connected she and Angie feel I really think the movie will project that side of her. It really makes me happy to hear that Brad read the book before taking on the movie, I don’t know if anyone has read it but it is fascinating, heartbreaking, and very, very realistic. There is no way the movie could have been made with any degree of respect and believability without the main people involved having read it.
I’m glad to hear these two women are friends.

You are both absolutely correct. By responding to posters who are negative and critical, you have given them a forum to rant and they really are “playing you all like a fiddle” and it is “someone’s game”. This person obviously has biased issues of their own but he/she is getting enjoyment and power out of the “fiddle game”. All who respond are playing into his/her “control” issues. BAMPZS fans are more sophisticated than that. Be smart and ignore…don’t play the “fiddle game”…and “trolls” will get bored and go away…remember, like thinkers congregate with like and non-like will be forced to play alone or somewhere else if no one plays with them.

You know I just read part of the interview, and I am upset . Marianne Pearl lets the cat out of the bag. Jennifer Aniston and her friends should hang their heads in shame. This interview puts to rest to lies that have been said about Brad.

Excerpt from Vanity Fair:

“When Brad and Jen were in the marriage, having a baby was not his priority—ever,” says one mutual friend. “It was an abstract desire for him, whereas for Jen it was much more immediate. So is there a part of Brad that’s diabolical? Did he think, I need to get out of this marriage, but I want to come out smelling like a rose, so I’m going to let Jen be cast as the ultra-feminist and I’m going to get cast as the poor husband who couldn’t get a baby and so had to move on?”

CL: And was the movie a thought for either of you at that point?
MP: …I had met with Brad separately about the movie, [but] he wasn’t connected at all with Angie at that time. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to do a movie…. Everybody was using terrorism for their own political agenda at that time, and really, this is a story about Danny. But when I met Brad—well, out of all the studios, he was the only one who had actually read the book!

MP: Really…and I could see already that he wanted to have children, and to raise them in a world of tolerance…. I don’t think I would have done it if I didn’t feel a direct connection to Brad and, then, Angie.

The next interview Aniston does, someone should ask her point blank. To address the situation. Aniston should not be allowed to give any more interviews while hiding behind sources called “mutual friend”. I am truly disgusted, and I now realize that kids were a major reason for Brad’s divorce. Pearl said that for a reason, because she knows the truth as Angie’s friend she put that out there, and I am happy, at least another side is out there.

Another issue while Aniston is always quick to deny rumors, about nose jobs, or anything that she feels is damaging to her image, she NEVER denies rumors that put Brad and Angie in a bad light. It is NOW more than obvious that this role was never hers to begin with and the only reason plan b got the rights was due to Brad, not Aniston. When it was announced that Angie would play Pearl, Brad and Angie were put in a bad light, on entertainment shows, and print, the media made it seem like this was her role. She did nothing to deny it. Gave interviews and never said anything to correct it.

Honestly she should be ashamed of herself and be truthful. The media is not doing thier job, and the next publication or journalist , that interviews this pathetic excuse for a decent human being, needs to ask her the tough questions, ask her point blank to tell the bloody truth.

Do you guys realize that after the divorce, almost every interview she did, mentioned how much she wanted kids, Oprah mentioned it, In Style, Larry King, but the day it was announced that Brad and Angie were expecting, the subject of children has never been brought up again. The thinker is not usually drawn into such a ploy because they think before they “react”…and usually the reaction, any reaction, positive or negative BTW (that’s part of the manipulation and the control that satisfies the baiter) is the desired result the baiter wants to elicit. It’s like a child testing the adult, to see how far they can get.

I liked reading the part about Mariane feeling a connection with Angie because of what she read about her; and this was before the connection with Brad! It is really amazing to me how Marianne felt a connection to Angelina clearly before Angelina and Brad got together, and that in the midst of that friendship being formed, Marianne is also feeling a connect to Brad. It all feels so divinely constructed.

Am all about Angelina Jolie. But being a girl’s girl, one of the knocks on Angelina Jolie, in sharp contrast of course to Jennifer Aniston, is that she doesn’t seem to have many girlfriends. If any.

Having said that, Angelina Jolie is ostensibly not that kind of girl. She wouldn’t want to come to my house on a Friday night to watch Bridget Jones and put on nail polish and throw back several bottles of shiraz. She doesn’t spend hours on the beach bronzing her skin and giggling with Courteney Cox.

Which is why Angelina Jolie is understandably intimidating. Especially for the MiniVan Majority.

But as it turns out, Angelina Jolie does have girlfriends. Gwen Stefani for starters – playdates last summer – and Mariane Pearl, widow of Daniel Pearl, who Angelina is portraying in A Mighty Heart, produced by Brad Pitt.

Needless to say, Mariane is not a frivolous woman. She probably wouldn’t hang out in Malibu with Courteney Cox either. But she would invite Angie and her kids over for a play date. And they made pasta, and their kids are friends, and Zahara is “madly in love” with Adam – Mariane’s son. A formidable woman friends with another formidable woman? Photos and article in the upcoming issue of Glamour.

GET OVER IT; haters (like this “interesting” poster) Brad and Angelina are a FAMILY and YES!! they are allowed to go out without each other and YES even dance with friends. It’s ALL IN GOOD FUN!! In the end; Brad is the father of her beautiful kids and she went home to him and the kids and THAT IS ALL THAT MATTERS!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking forward to reading this interview in full – two wonderful women together. I have not yet read the book but I plan to see the movie.

I think it is very hard for her to cope with this publicity where your every move is followed. She doesn’t care, she is not that kind of person who thinks about her public image. I have a feeling that she cannot stand the idea that she would live his life according to what the majority wants. She has the right to be who she is, I hope she never ever will try to be an average american girl.

She is the only idol I have had in my life. She is the only one whose writings about Chechnya I have read and thought about: Wow, she really _understands_ the point. But still, she is a human being who makes mistakes and is insecure. Both Brad and Angelina are something you americans should be very proud of. (I am an European and I am proud of them :-) Keep it going ,ladies.

Does anybody watch Work Out on Bravo? They had this girl named Erika who was being made to look like Angie because she said that when they can’t get the real thing, they try to get someone who can get as close a resemblance as possible and she was it. I was channel surfing so I didn’t get to see the beginning but does anybody know what it was for?

While they were making her up to look like Angie, they said “oh, here comes your husband”, and it was a Brad Pitt look alike (supposedly but he looked more like Larry Birkhead). They had her wearing the trench coat, the high necked blouse, (black of course) and she posed ala Angie and the fake Brad even carried her like a newlywed.

Frankly, she couldn’t hold a candle to the real thing and she knew it too. The hair was dark but was too thin, the shape of the the face, the eyes and even the lips, (although full) were all wrong. That Erika was pretty, but I’m happy that Angie is one of a kind and a hard one to copy even with all the makeup and wardrobe.

So, does anybody know what commercial they were doing for this shoot? Thanks.

I admire both Marianne and Angie for their huge hearts, their dedication to helping others, and FOR THEIR HONESTY!

Her name is Lisa Robertson. They usually do her hair and make up to look like Angie but I don’t know if it’s a conscious effort on their part or if it’s just a coincidence.

Last year, that magazine, New York something or other, hired those two lookalikes to create a composite of Brad/Angelina and new baby. Then we got weird concept exhibits from Madame Trussaard’s. Then America’s Top Model did a tableau. Now this Bravo show is trying to capitalize on these two?

Seriously, has any couple, in recent years, been subjected to as many weird tributes as Brad and Angelina? None come to my mind.

After all this Daily News “dancing” thing is just plain GOSSIP!!! Witch means it can be 1000% false. After the screening Angie really went to a restaurant along with Holly, James, Ling and Wyclef and she was seen exiting with Wyclef and Martinez where nowhere to be found. Plus the item said that Ethan Howke was also there but Ethan wasn’t even at the screening.

The film will be premiering as part of the Cannes Film Festival on May 21st and the US Premiere is June 18th in New York City. Unless you’re going to Cannes or have powerful friends you’ll be able to see the film on June 22nd when it gets released all around the country.

#208: piper, I know!! Isn’t it just mindboggling how AJ and BP has now become a byword or a standard? When I see commercials or even some shows, I get this sensation that they are trying to emulate both or either of the two. There are a lot of shows (legitimate and long running) where they always mention their names for comparison on something.

I can’t remember if it was CSI where they went like “well, if somebody can get to Brad’s pajama drawers….” or even in the evening news where this plastic surgeon guy was saying as how men are now 50% of his patients. They either want Jude Law’s or Leo’s nose and Brad’s lips. Whenever they mention somebody sexy or naughty, it’s always Angelina Jolie. She’s always a question on Family Feud for sexiest or name things you know about her, etc.

Thanks for this lovely and interesting interview. Always admired Marianne : her intelligence, strength, sweet determination and this glimpse of feminine vulnerability.

That’s nice. I’m sure they have their own threads somewhere in cyberspace. No one ever said Angelina is the only one doing anything. She’s only 31. But we are not just fans becasue of her charity, we like her as a person, as a mother, find her to be one of a few interesting people in Hollywood, her unusual beauty, like her movies and he sense of style. Since they met first before Angie was together with Brad, I think it was around 2003-2004. Isn’t it amazing that Angie never says who she is freindly with.

On ET she said doing the scene where she learned the fate of her husband made her go to a place she never wanted to go again acting wise. So many people don’t realize how draining filming can be for some actors. The word is that the role is Oscar worthy but could be overlooked because it is released too early in the year. Brad is getting kudos for producing this film. What a team brad & Angelina make. Stay tuned

Another issue while Aniston is always quick to deny rumors, about nose jobs, or anything that she feels is damaging to her image, she NEVER denies rumors that put Brad and Angie in a bad light. It is NOW more than obvious that this role was never hers to begin with and the only reason plan b got the rights was due to Brad, not Aniston. When it was announced that Angie would play Pearl, Brad and Angie were put in a bad light, on entertainment shows, and print, the media made it seem like this was her role. She did nothing to deny it. Gave interviews and never said anything to correct it.

Honestly she should be ashamed of herself and be truthful. The media is not doing thier job, and the next publication or journalist , that interviews this pathetic excuse for a decent human being, needs to ask her the tough questions, ask her point blank to tell the bloody truth.

Do you guys realize that after the divorce, almost every interview she did, mentioned how much she wanted kids, Oprah mentioned it, In Style, Larry King, but the day it was announced that Brad and Angie were expecting, the subject of children has never been brought up again. This trick needs to be called out and if she is suppose to be classy, then she needs to tell the truth.

Thanks. So maybe the old wisdom/belief that opening earlier in the year rather than later in the year hurt a film’s Oscar chances is not so true any more. TGS had good reviews and opened late and look what happened, totally shut out at award season’s time. I don’t think there are any safe bets these days as to what will do well at Oscar time. The Departed was an award for MartinS who had been overlooked so many times. Next year will be different, wide open I think, because all the old lions have now received an Oscar.

Remember jared had a thread last year re Brad’s house that showed the modernistic 2 bedroom guest home he had designed, one of three homes in his Los Feliz compound? The house he and Angelina and the kids live in is the one he spendt many years working on, the biggest house of the three with 6 bedrooms I think. I don’t believe that he had ever lived in the “big” house before because it was never finished until last year after they returned from Namibia. The house in this pix sort of looks like the 2 bedroom house in the earlier pixs, but different in some way. I would not be surprised if the big house looks a lot like the smaller home. However, the toy cars in this pix say a family is present and accounted for.

The Ocean’s 13 poster looks like an animated one. I guess they were looking for that retro look. I like it. I wonder this poster is available for purchase because I collect movie posters. Brad look really good.

Hello to all the positive posters out there celebrating our favourite family! Thanks JJ for posting this segment/picture here - can’t wait to read the full convo/interview. It truly seems to be destiny that Angie and Mariane became friends and that Angie would go on to play Mariane in AMH (and that Angie and Brad would end up together and Brad would produce the movie etc. - SERENDIPITY!). This is going to be an emotionally stirring movie to watch - bring a box of kleenex for sure.

Furthermore, without even having seen the full interview, so many here can say that they are vindicated today with proof from the people themselves that Angie and Mariane were friends first, and that not only does Mariane approve of Angelina portraying her, but also that from another article that Daniel Pearl’s parents approve of the film. I never doubted that Plan B, Brad, and Angelina were making the film with everyone’s approval!!

Moreover, for someone of Mariane’s caliber to reach out to Angelina and identify with her tells me that the people here who admire Angelina (and Brad) are correct in their instincts. These are good people who truly want to make a difference in this world and walk the walk. Bravo! I can’t say it enough - BRAVO!

According to “Access Hollywood” Angie and Marianne’s interview took place in Brad and Angie’s MALIBU HOUSE!! So this lovely pic was taken in their Malibu house and NOT in the Los Feliz House!!

I think Access Hollywood erred. I really believe it’s the Los Feliz estate, and If you can locate the ELLE mag issue that included the story on it w/pictures, you’ll see what looks like the same grey rock wall/motif throughout that Angelina and Marianne are sitting in front of in the photo.

And although evidence of the beautiful garden is limited in the GLAMOUR pic, there’s still enough for me to believe the east L.A house is where the interview took place. I may be wrong, and I’ll apologize now in case I am, but I’m pretty confident it’s not the Malibu house.
