OlderAngelina Jolie & Marianne Pearl: Worst People to Plan a Playdate
Marianne Pearl, the wife of the slain Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl, and Angelina Jolie (she plays her in the upcoming film A Mighty Heart) sits down with Glamour editor-in-chief Cindi Leive for an interview at Angelina’s home. Here are some fun excerpts:
CINDI LEIVE: So Mariane, you started to tell me the story of how you guys initially met, which to my surprise had absolutely nothing to do with A Mighty Heart.
MARIANE PEARL: One day a few years ago, I was alone in New York with Adam, still having a rough time [after Danny’s death]. I read an interview with Angie in a magazine, about her and Maddox and her life as a single mom. And I thought, this woman could be my friend…. I’d never experienced anything like that before in my life. It was something in her tone, in the answers that she gave. I felt also that Maddox and Adam [then both about three] could be good friends. So I sent her a note saying, do you want to have a playdate?
ANGELINA JOLIE: And I, on the other side of it, had been aware of you through the time that everything went down. I remember being amazed by your courage and your grace…. And when I got the note, I was thrilled. Later I realized that Mariane and I are the two worst people to plan a playdate in the history of playdates.
CL: Why?
AJ: Because she hates the phone as much as I do. So it almost didn’t happen! But when it finally did, I remember being really nervous, thinking, she’s such an intelligent European woman—what are we going to do together? So we went to this serious, European, existential play—it seemed like the right thing [and it was supposed to be OK for kids]. But Adam and Mad got antsy, and finally halfway through, to each other’s relief, we were both like, do you want to get out of here? And we ran out and went back to Mariane’s place….
MP: We cooked pasta; it was actually good. And then we started talking about changing the world…
AJ: …and about all the things we were passionate about. Her instincts were right—we did have so much in common. And all the kids are great friends now. Zahara is madly in love with Adam.

Thank you Jared for the wonderful excerpt from Glamour. I suggest all BAMPZS fans in the US go out and buy an issue when it comes out. It’s nice to read the truth for a change.
What makes this particular article interesting is that it not only dispells the nonsensical rumors surrounding Angie’s involvement in getting this role, but it shows once again the deep respect people of stature have for Angie. Angie doesn’t need to stand on top of a mountain to shout the truth or appear on Oprah Winfrey to say all the gossip is a lie. No. From the articles and links you all have provided we see people like Mariane Pearl in Glamour, Dr. Jane Aronson in People, actress Elizabeth Mitchell in OK, Bill O’Reilly on Fox, UN Deputy Secretary-General Mark Malloch Brown in Time, and even the woman from Rainbow Kids come forward to tell anyone who’s willing to listen the truth about Angie. People from a wide range of backgrounds giving the public a view of the real Angie and not the tabloid version. And the real Angie is extraordinary. Simply extraordinary.
Aww! Now I see why Angie is portraying her in the film.
Okay, my prediction: In 25 years, Zahara and Adam will be wed :)

The latest grind for the gossip mill is that Angelina recently bought Brad a new, custom built motorcycle and Ducati helmet. The source said, “She wanted to do something special for him”.
Sources say Angelina also booked a luxury suite in Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel for them to spend “some quality alone time together”. Rumor has it that they went to the hotel on Sunday and stayed a few hours, just the two of them.

oh angie is soooo bootyful and has all the qualities of the woman can be envied of. i so love her pretty angelic face, sexy pouty lips and mesmerizing feline like eyes. she is so confident, yet vulnerable, sensitive,caring, nurturing, loving , protective and loyal. she is also talk w/ sense, passion and humility. oh my goodness, she accomplished a lot great pilot, great mother, great lover/partner/wife,great humanitarian and great lobbyist. iam super envioused. my dream is to look exactly like her and the accomplishement in her life…i want it all or atleast a piece of her great look. why angie has pretty much everything going? i accomplish nothing but sit and spitting my venom, becoz i abhore here she makes me more uglier THN I WAS and she make me feel NON EXISTENT coming here in a blog HISSING as my boss SATAN backs me up w/ a big hi 5 saying” keep going my fugly baby” thts the best thing u can do to help humanity and this is ur best accomplishement in life, they will always remember u for ur great contribution, so spread the hate fugly baby! work it! oh yeah ! don’t worry, i will take care of ur wrinkles, i hv something more powerful thn botox. yeah, its free and very venomously effective. so keep it on!, every venom spewed , u will earn points and when u cuss its double points in my books and if u reach a the highest cussing points, i personally would welcome u personally in the gate , ur APPROVED!!

She’s got a Friend
Am all about Angelina Jolie. But being a girl’s girl, one of the knocks on Angelina Jolie, in sharp contrast of course to Jennifer Aniston, is that she doesn’t seem to have many girlfriends. If any.
Having said that, Angelina Jolie is ostensibly not that kind of girl. She wouldn’t want to come to my house on a Friday night to watch Bridget Jones and put on nail polish and throw back several bottles of shiraz. She doesn’t spend hours on the beach bronzing her skin and giggling with Courteney Cox.
Which is why Angelina Jolie is understandably intimidating. Especially for the MiniVan Majority.
But as it turns out, Angelina Jolie does have girlfriends. Gwen Stefani for starters – playdates last summer – and Mariane Pearl, widow of Daniel Pearl, who Angelina is portraying in A Mighty Heart, produced by Brad Pitt.
Needless to say, Mariane is not a frivolous woman. She probably wouldn’t hang out in Malibu with Courteney Cox either. But she would invite Angie and her kids over for a play date. And they made pasta, and their kids are friends, and Zahara is “madly in love” with Adam – Mariane’s son. A formidable woman friends with another formidable woman? It is really amazing to me how Marianne felt a connection to Angelina clearly before Angelina and Brad got together, and that in the midst of that friendship being formed, Marianne is also feeling a connect to Brad. It all feels so divinely constructed.

You know I just read part of the interview, and I am upset . Marianne Pearl lets the cat out of the bag. Jennifer Aniston and her friends should hang their heads in shame. This interview puts to rest to lies that have been said about Brad.
Excerpt from Vanity Fair:
“When Brad and Jen were in the marriage, having a baby was not his priority—ever,” says one mutual friend. “It was an abstract desire for him, whereas for Jen it was much more immediate. So is there a part of Brad that’s diabolical? Did he think, I need to get out of this marriage, but I want to come out smelling like a rose, so I’m going to let Jen be cast as the ultra-feminist and I’m going to get cast as the poor husband who couldn’t get a baby and so had to move on?”

CL: And was the movie a thought for either of you at that point?
MP: …I had met with Brad separately about the movie, [but] he wasn’t connected at all with Angie at that time. To be honest, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to do a movie…. Everybody was using terrorism for their own political agenda at that time, and really, this is a story about Danny. But when I met Brad—well, out of all the studios, he was the only one who had actually read the book!
AJ: Really?
MP: Really…and I could see already that he wanted to have children, and to raise them in a world of tolerance…. I don’t think I would have done it if I didn’t feel a direct connection to Brad and, then, Angie.
The next interview Aniston does, someone should ask her point blank. To address the situation. Aniston should not be allowed to give any more interviews while hiding behind sources called “mutual friend”. I am truly disgusted, and I now realize that kids were a major reason for Brad’s divorce. Pearl said that for a reason, because she knows the truth as Angie’s friend she put that out there, and I am happy, at least another side is out there.
Another issue while Aniston is always quick to deny rumors, about nose jobs, or anything that she feels is damaging to her image, she NEVER denies rumors that put Brad and Angie in a bad light. It is NOW more than obvious that this role was never hers to begin with and the only reason plan b got the rights was due to Brad, not Aniston. When it was announced that Angie would play Pearl, Brad and Angie were put in a bad light, on entertainment shows, and print, the media made it seem like this was her role. She did nothing to deny it. Gave interviews and never said anything to correct it.
Honestly she should be ashamed of herself and be truthful. The media is not doing thier job, and the next publication or journalist , that interviews this pathetic excuse for a decent human being, needs to ask her the tough questions, ask her point blank to tell the bloody truth.
Do you guys realize that after the divorce, almost every interview she did, mentioned how much she wanted kids, Oprah mentioned it, In Style, Larry King, but the day it was announced that Brad and Angie were expecting, the subject of children has never been brought up again. This trick needs to be called out and if she is suppose to be classy, then she needs to tell the truth.

Newsflash, bowow! Mariane is NOT African American. She is a French woman of Afro-Cuban, Dutch and Chinese descent. And Angelina did not use a black face make up on AMH. Besides, if Mariane, whose life story it is, likes Angelina in the role of HER life, then what is your problem?
