Pitt’s Split Decision

Pitt’s Split Decision

Brad Pitt’s new gunslinger flick, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford is said to have two versions floating around — one from writer-director Andrew Dominik and another from Brad, who produced and starred in the film.

No word from Warner Bros. on which version will be released yet.

Jesse James follows the last heist committed by James (Pitt), and Ford’s (Casey Affleck) devoted and then vengeful relationship with the legendary outlaw.

The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford (new movie still above!) opens in theaters on Sept. 21.

Mr and Mrs Smith Says

Aw, cool - thanks Mr&Mrs, she seems like she has her head on straight. Now we know she has good taste as well! Good for her - most definitely should be on the list! I think it’s telling when young ‘it’ women in HW mention Angelina, and what she does as being admirable and inspiring - because that just lets me know, how much the other side is off the radar these days (except with the equally sad and pathetic jealous tabloid editor women that is, lol) :)

Did someone already post the ENTIRE scan of this article? Believe or not I lifted this from FF hater’s thread! Imagine a hater spending money and time bothering to scan articles of the women she hates. Anyway this is a wonderful interview:

Early test scores were poor, but some who have seen the film say the performances by Pitt and especially Affleck are among the best in their careers.

One otherwise favorable review of a research screening posted on the website http://www.aint+itcoolnews.com said, “I see one serious problem with this film. A major studio made it. This film isn’t for everyone.

~~

I hope the problems with this film does not stop Brad from trying to do movies that are slightly different. I think he is at his best in those types of movies such as Fight Club or Snatch. Both of which the greater audiences did not “get” until the movie hit DVD

Sometimes … Can’t Blame the studios

The Good German:
Production Budget: $32 million
Box Office world-wide : $5.8 million

Note:The studios only get 50% of the boxoffice gross.

~~

Warners is making mega bucks from 300 . So it can take a loss of these smaller movies. That’s how the game is played.

Im boycotting any Pitt movie. He is a disgusting CAD.

I’m sure your chump change will be missed LOL!

Thanks BESANE! for the scans :D

————-

Yeah, in a way I agree. Can’t win them all! But there are also small films which did excellent in boxoffice.

THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT
Production Budget: $60,000. (sixty thousand)
Box Office: $248.6

MY BIG FAT GREEK WEDDING
Production Budget:$5 million
Box Office: $368.7 million

… and some medium size films like

THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA
Production Budget:$35 million
Box Office: $325.3 million

BORAT:
Production Budget:$18 million
Box Office: $260.3 million

BTW, aside from production costs, there are also distribution costs as well as marketing costs.

WOW!! I was heading off to bed and caught this new thread. Thanks so much Jarad . I wouldn’t miss anything Brad or Angie play a role in so this is all a very exciting time/yr for them . All of these thread are a joy to see.

Thanks, other thread and Besane, for the scans of the Glamour article! WOW, this is a wonderful article, and it’s great to see Angie’s and Mariane’s perspectives and what close friends both families have become!

I just looked up the box office gross for Babel. $118 millions so far, not including Japan. Wow. It’s going to make $125M for sure. Not bad for a $25M that Paramount paid for the movie.

106, hello Agnes…er, that’s a helluva idea you got there hon’….but uh…don’t you think you should have started on that plan of action BEFORE ‘Mr and Mrs Smith,’ made a half BILLION dollars worldwide at the box office, and then subsequently became the most rented flick of the last two years, adding even MORE to the coffers? I’m just sayin’ you’d look a LOT more sincere ya old jealous ****. lol

No, actually Angelina Jolie is Hollywood ROYALTY.

Maniston however, had an immigrant father who was a third rate soap opera hack, and a mother who was a soft porn actress. Paltrow’s Dad was a cheesey 80’s TV producer….

Angelina’s Mom studied with Lee Strasberg at the Actor’s Studio, and her father, like Angelina, is an Oscar WINNER who has been nominated for Oscar 3 times.

Just to clarify beeyatch, as you seem confused.

An example of trash would be a woman who gives blow jobs to sexist sit-com writers to get bigger storylines on her sh*tty tv show Friends, sleeps with a movie star on a first date, and who subsequently becomes his parasitic leech of a REBOUND hook-up, that will suck all joy out of his life, but not before slurring his character and riding his coattails for the rest of her life.

Now, THAT — is trash.

BRAVO !!!! well said !

Lol… wow CAD? Wtf? This is 2007. Who the hell talks like that?

A Certain Smile @ 05/02/2007 at 2:24 am

Isn’t it amazing a brother and sister look like each other? Have you ever seen that before? This must be some freak of nature. (roll eyes)

I’m sure Brad really don’t care whether you’re gonna watch his movie. there’s till million of peoples gonna watch it.

Thanks JJ. You are tops when it comes to getting the latest on Brad and Angie. Since I missed the Access Hollywood feature, I got to see it here. Everybody, has their opinion about Brad’s movies. He is a great actor. I saw his old ones, Seven Years in Tibet, Hell’s Kitchen and Snatch. He is very versatile. Of course, my favorite is Mr. & Mrs. Smith because I think that is the only comedy he made so far. I also like him in Meet Joe Black. FYI, Shiloh was “conceived” in Canada while he was filming this movie. And maybe, partly in New York. But that is none of our business, that is between Brad and Angie and their family. Just for the record, he already signed his divorce papers in August 2005 (just for the haters who are still hanging on to the tabloid belief that he cheated). And Brad and Angie are now the most sought after power couple because of their passion to help the children of the world. Ignore the shallow and negative comments here. Brad and Angie are for real! Beauty inside and out.

A Certain Smile @ 05/02/2007 at 2:28 am

Back to the film. Any one remember Titanic? that film was slammed all over from so-called test screenings (I atteneded one before it was ocmpleted and did not find it to be bad at all and I was not a Leo fan at the time). It went on to be one of the highest grossing films of all time. Not saying that will happen here but I don’t put much faith in some of these test screenings.

Yes , I still remember all those critics thought the director James Cameron was crazy. but Cameron has the last laugh.

Brad Pitt needs to back off and respect the director’s vision.
Brad has plenty of money to make his own film and direct if he chooses
too. He signed on to be an actor in the movie and has to trust the
director’s vision.

Also 1 million dollars is not enough to help all the orphans in world.
How about donating more from their 200 millions. Please put your money

Immigrant father? You say that as if it were an insult or something. Aren’t you black? Where’d your ancestors come from, american dirt? No, they most likely IMMIGRATED from somewhere.

I believe test screenings come before a definitive marketing message is worked out. I understand that test screenings is used to determine amongst other things, the marketing message. So viewers may go in with a certain expectation of what the movie would be and find that it isn’t. The test screenings also help the filmmakers and executives determine the type of audience it might attract and does not attract. As the audience becomes more targetted, the marketing message also improves. The movie is presumably edited so that it can attract more of a particular type of audience without alienating others. I guess this is the moment when reality bites the artist and the tension of art and business emerges.
