Natalie Portman @ The View

Natalie Portman (killer shoes!) sits down with the ladies of The View on Tuesday morning to talk about C-sections, her dad as a gynecologist, and the many women she’s helping worldwide via FINCA and their microfinancing work. Check out the video below!

Bleh, the voice is off with the video. They talk but their mouths dont match to what they’re saying… if that makes sense lol!

Natalie is great and hehe, I’ve been looking up FINCA like crazy since yesterday, seems like a great organization.

Wow, Kimberly and meg….how shallow you are. Anyway, Natalie Portman must be the most interesting celebrity I have seen on any talk show. I have never seen her in a movie, I believe. She so selflessly talked about a subject that won’t make her any money. I am really impressed with people like her.

Micro finance orgs are all scams. Wonder if she knows she’s endorsing criminals?

Kibbell - I wasnt being shallow, what I was saying is, the video was messing up for me. Id hear them talk, but their mouths weren’t insync with what they were saying. Why dont you reread before you call people shallow :oP

yeah…the first thing i did was go to the website and donate money. shes always impressed me with how humble and giving she is. she made the right move by going to school and taking time out of acting. the website to donate at is:

Magnus, I think Natalie, who has been endorsing this specific one publicly for a couple years, has done her research. She knows the program inside out. Some are, sure, but some of all charities are scams. natalie is a smart cookie. She knows what she’s doing.

Micro Financing is a great tool for economic uplifting. Its an idea started by the 2006 Nobel Peace Price winner, Bangladesh Banker, Muhammad Yunus who then took it to a new height by directly empowering the women in his country (http://www.grameenfoundation.org/). Its an excellent premises, but you have to be careful about who and what organization you put your money to.

Anyway, I love Natalie as an actress, intellectual and conscious activist who’s image isn’t about who she sleeps with or what she wears, but rather what she achieves on her own term.

great interview. loved that natalie had most of the floor and not the annoying View women. why does it seem like magnus mostly has negative comments on this site? why do you bother coming here?

hey and i loved the shoes too. it’s ok to appreciate BOTH her choices in fashion as well as in social/economic movements. :)

The website for FINCA says “91 cents for every dollar goes directly to our clients”- where does the rest go then? Just wondering……

Zoe: Administration, I think.

Little Miss Perfect. Love Natalie!

Cyndi, that is exactly what I wanted to say- only better!

(On a shallow note- she looks beautiful. When I showed my little sis the video she screamed “Oh the shoes!” in my ear *really* loudly. So, um, good shoes Nat!)
