Halle & Gabriel’s Book Bash
Halle Berry and beau Gabriel Aubrey go clean-cut at a book party on Thursday at Miauhaus Studios in Los Angeles.
The pretty pair celebrated authors Laura Meyer and Robyn Roth’s new book “Remodel This! A Woman’s Guide to Planning and Surviving the Madness of a Home Renovation.”

They probably are just exhausted by all the pressure of the last few weeks, not bored with each other. Doubt that they are fighting behind the scenes because they seem too in sync in public, even when they ‘look bored.’
I agree with Langtry, I believe Halle goes for looks and not the quality of the individual..from what I’ve heard come out of Gabriel’s mouth, he sounds like a dud. But perhaps Halle is like some men are with the women they date or marry and she just simply likes dull, quiet, men that don’t talk back — she says SHE LIKES TO BE IN CONTROL (RECENT EBONY ARTICLE)…and I’m sorry, but she looks like she’s controlling the world out of Gabriel — OR SO SHE THINKS!
It’s pretty obvious! to me — with Gabriel possibly allowing her to control - she feels she’s in a good relationship —
with re: to her past — DAVID OBVIOUSLY WOULD NOT HAVE THAT, ERIC PROBABLY GREW TIRED OF IT AND REBELLED BY CHEATING (something tells me she probably withheld sex–at least Eric implied that during an interview — some women do that believe it or not — Halle probably is not doing that now because she’s desperate for a baby — but Gabriel will probably have to claim himself a partial priest once a baby is born — something tells me Halle will go back to how she possibly was with Eric when she no longer has a reason for sex), and re: Michael Ealy— maybe he WAS JUST NOT READY (He stated he needed to grow up a little before he could handle Halle)…
but with all of this I have a feeling that’s why Halle says Gabriel is the “first” to accept her career…I think it’s more he’s the first to accept her sh*t and BS!
Also, don’t get it twisted…I don’t think Gabriel is using Halle for her money, BUUUUUUUUT I think he’s perhaps using her for her fame. He had a little light in the model world…but we all know that’s fleeting, whether he’s actively saying it or seeking it, having her celebrity associated with him DOES enhance his existing model career — I just read his demand and pay went up AND his restaurant probably attracts more since her name is attached to him…BUT LET’S KEEP IT REAL — I WOULD HAVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT HIS RESTAURANT HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR HALLE — OR IF I HAD — IT WOULD HAVE JUST BEEN ANOTHER CUBAN RESTAURANT IN NYC — IN WHICH THERE ARE MANY!!!!!!! So OF COURSE he’s going to “support her career (rolling my eyes)” BECAUSE it’s helping his!!!!!!!! WAKE UP HALLE!!!!
Which is why I think he’s more manipulative than Eric was, Eric although a cheater, has a certain sincerity about him, and he probably did not want to use Halle to help his career…he probably felt less than a man doing that…which is why he did not come out with an album…if he were like Gabriel seems to be…he probably should have come out with about 3 of those bad boys and had her in the videos!
At the end of the day, all of you Gabriel lovers need to recognize HOLLYWOOD, FASHION, ETC—it’s all about business at the end of the day and EVERYBODY has a motive. I’m not saying he does not care for Halle to a certain degree, but he’s probably putting up with more than usual JUST SO HE CAN CONTINUE THIS RISE IN FAME –thus RISE IN FUNDS FOR BUSINESS AND MODEL CAREER!

Right on, HalleGabriel.
People see what they “want” to see. I don’t see “bored” either. I still see love. Gabriel has a quiet strength about him. I love that kind of man, so I totally get it. A loud, aggressive, mouthy man is a complete turnoff for me and I have attracted my fare share, let me tell you. Nooooo!
I know two men in particular who seem like unexpressive, quiet types in public. Their wives are beautiful, fun and bubbly. If you took photos of the men, you’d think they were like dead trees, but looks are many times deceiving. Once you get to know them, it’s obvious that the men are very passionate, just in a quiet way. They adore and would defend their wives to death, and both couples have been married about 20 years. One is a Mexican man married to a black woman, the other, a black man married to a white woman.

Disagree w/HG and GH! not a hot couple or topic. Tired/bored who knows? In all of the photos of them over the last year, most of them have Halle being more into him than he is into her. Do agree with you #27 on most of your points. Let’s see how famous he will continue to be or how well the restaurant does,if or when they stop being a couple? Even his manager/modeling agency president Sean Patterson got all quiet real quickly after bragging how much Aubry made per photo shoot or per day last year when asked if he thought Aubry was using Halle for fame, status, etc.? Says something to me.
Agree his manipulative to some degree–the quiet, shy ones are the ones you have to watch out for. Guess with the perks , I probably put up with the BS too possibly. Don’t think Halle’s a fool ‘tho regardless how desperate she is to have a kid or how much they may fight in private (have heard that too from people who are friends of people who know them-things aren’t as golden as they seem). Still say no baby real or adopted.

Do think Halle’s afraid of losing face after talking him up (total BS) and he doesn’t know what to do (since he has had a sudden jolt of fame, status, success,etc.). It will be interesting if he goes along with her baby plans–let’s see if anything materializes w/either her being pregnant or them adopting a child by the end of the year as well as seeing if any/all of her projects get off the ground and how long his restaurant stays open and how much longer they will be together. Not being a hater or doubting Thomas, just being real. Think the cold fish stage has already begun from what I have heard from my friends in LA–actually their relationship is a total joke in some circles as well as her failing career.
I have a question for the Halle-Gabriel lovers—what are you going to do if they really don’t stay together and have or adopt a kid together? Hopefully, they can be mature enough to be adults about this. Just being curious. Agree all of the long posts are a bit much.
JMO–don’t think Gabriel like #27 said could really give a **** about Halle’s career and does enjoy riding on her coat tails as long as he gets something out of the deal. Do think Halle is starting to or will soon wise up. My prediction is they will be through for good within the next 1-4 to 6 months, if that long. His restaurant will be closed by the end of 2008 or some time in early 2009 if he’s lucky if it’s not sooner. Halle’s career may still take a nose dive if she doesn’t get her projects out of the chute and loses her Revlon contract and doesn’t get a mentor and new manager or get someone who can give her good counsel before she even selfishly continues to have or adopt a child period whether or not Aubry is still part of the equation. Don’t think even though Halle has generally been known to be frugal with her money, don’t think when the work stops that Aubry is going to his share of the bills or daddy duty–think he’s really along for just the ride. Really don’t give a **** with what any of the HG lovers think of my post. It will be very interesting when the numbers of posts on JJ and other sites drop or stop.
I don’t really much like the long posts either (too hard to edit- ha), so I’ll break it down some.
#27, I will say it again: There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with a beautiful woman wanting a beautiful man in her life who will give her a beautiful baby. Frankly, I would be horrified if Halle Berry decided to mate with “Quasimoto.”
Also, if Halle likes being in control and Gabriel likes her strength and they get along well and treat each other right, more power to them. If it works and both of them are satisfied, then who are we to say they are wrong? Most couples consist of a stronger person and a more passive person. The man doesn’t always have to be the aggressive one, and Halle is not too controlling because she doesn’t have that kind of spirit and Gabriel happens to be equally gorgeous, so he is probably not intimidated by her.

You have a right to your opinion, but your opinion saddens me. You are excusing the cheater and blaming Halle for what Eric Benet and DJ chose to do. Benet’s words are the oldest excuse in the book. This is one of the reasons why so many black women aren’t getting monogamy in their relationships and are catching nasty diseases. They accept and excuse cheating behavior from the black man.

And now I am going to disagree with you. And now I am going to disagree with you. They said the same things about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Everybody here has proven this is a hot topic. Some of you really don’t like Halle Berry and are fans of her exes, yet you continue to be enthralled with what she’s up to with this white guy.
Before Halle dated them, I never knew who a DJ or Eric Benet was. No lie. I knew who Shemar Moore was, of course, and I knew Ealy from “Barbershop” fame. Now, I couldn’t care less about any of them. I don’t look them up, care who they date/marry because I’m not a fan of theirs.
The last sentence of your quote is a common held belief that I have heard time and again coming from the mouths of black people. Many have a “deep-seated” idea that white men only want to USE black women or that it’s not possible for a white man to seriously fall in love with/be attracted to a black woman. That is such a false belief/stereotype until it isn’t funny. Yea, people believe that, yet they somehow believe it’s totally possible for white, Hispanic, Asian women to fall in love with black men. I guess black men are SO much more desirable than black women, huh? I don’t think so.
There is still plenty of racism in this world and black people must be careful, however, love is a mystery and it strikes under the strangest of circumstances.

If Halle and Gabriel break up, I will continue to support the woman. I’ll wish Gabriel well just like I do Halle’s other exes, but honestly, I’ll be interested in that fine man and curious to see what he does in his life. If Gabriel becomes a cheater or does something really terrible, it will detract from his beauty in my eyes. I won’t hate him, but he’ll be just like DJ and Benet.
There is no better combination than a gorgeous man who has integrity.

This is how it is for me.
I really like Halle Berry not only for her beauty, but as a person. I admire the way she’s had fantastic success in her career because of hard work and determination. I admire her classiness in the face of adversity. I also esteem her as a black woman for not tolerating cheating mates. I think she’s a pretty good role model for young black girls to want to emulate. There are many black women who want to have what she has.
With that said, since these topics are generally posted for people who are interested in these stars (in a positive way, I think), why should I sit back and allow the haters to get their way and dominate this board and bash Halle with unflattering posts?
Because I like Halle, why would I wish for negativity in her life? That would not make any sense. That’s how I know some people here don’t like her at all. I believe that some of the women were previously jealous of Halle because of her skin color, beauty and favor. Nonfamous beautiful, light-skinned black/biracial women face similar resentment. It’s a common problem. The jealousy was already present, and when Halle decided to date a white man, those same women just hate her even more. It’s like one more thing that Halle Berry has the “never” to do.
My belief is that the black men are overwhelmingly angry about the race thing. They loved Halle before, but when she went to the “other side,” it’s just unforgivable to them. I totally expected black men to be in an uproar the moment I learned about Halle dating Gabriel.
Haters see a manipulative Gabriel Aubry, but I don’t see it. I’m not just saying that to be contrary to them. I think that if Aubry ever wants out of this relationship, he will do the right thing and not “sneak” and humiliate Halle in public.
