Fashion Faceoff: Lanvin Minidress
Natalie Portman honors Icelandic singer/songwriter Bjork in a futuristic charmeuse-draped Lanvin Spring 2007 halter minidress.
The event was held on Thursday at NYC’s 7 World Trade Center for Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Annual Spring Benefit “The Dowtown Dinner.”
To the right, American supermodel Hilary Rhoda.
Who wears it best? NATALIE PORTMAN or THE RUNWAY MODEL?

Natalie all the way, She has an uncharacteristic beauty about her, plus the fack that she isnt a stick and has a bust and hips (she mayyyy be tiny but shes tiny in a way that allows her body to still have natural shape)… she pulls off this dress with much more feminine charm than any waif of a supermodel.
they both look good but I prefere Natalie EXCEPT for the shoes - the shoes Natalie’s wearing are much to dainty for that dress - something a little heavier like the shoes on the model would’ve been better.

natalie. i think the dress is a really good one and natalie looks perfect in it. and as someone said i think this is the first time the movie star/singer looks better than the model. just look at the scarlett johansson post below, hideous on scarlett.

Quick question…I’ve actually never heard of Hilary Rhoda, so is she really at “super”model or just a model?
I thought the moniker “supermodel” was only bestowed upon those elite few models that can be pinpointed and our sought out by the highier-tiered designers. This girl appears to be just a regular model!!!

well, hilary rhoda started couple seasons back at balenciaga, and literally took the fashion industry by storm.. and i dont know any big fashion house she hasnt walked for.. so obviously she isnt some regular model, shes been on NUMEROUS covers from vogue paris to vogue italia to.. even vogue US this month!!.. and cant forget this months numero( french) cover http://journaux.fr/images/revues/M4153.jpg i would say if normal ppl like the general public actually remembered models still exist post the christy turlington.. linda evangelista era.. she would be THE star right now.. even though in the fashion industry she is a star.. admired by the top photographers to the top designers.

Oh my, Natalie blows that model out of the water! Also, the excessive accessories (say that five times fast) on the model take a billowy dress and make it look too severe and not lithe enough.
