There will always be things in our past that are best forgiven and forgotten. As a fan, Brad’s marriage to JA and Angie’s weirdness with BBT are things that are hard to fathom for me as a fan. Thank God that Brad and Angie found their way together.
I just received this from Habitat for Humanity, if anyone is interested.

I first read this in Jossip website that someone here had posted a couple of thread ago. Then I clicked on WWD. Thought I’d bring it over here.
TAKING SHOTS: Us Weekly, consumer advocate? That’s the spin Wenner Media is putting on the title’s decision to run a story this week calling out its competitors for misleading consumers. In the piece, “All the News That’s Fake,” Us Weekly points to recent issues of OK!, Life & Style, In Touch and Star and “corrects” headlines and accompanying stories in each magazine about celebrity breast augmentations, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony breaking up, Brad Pitt wanting Jennifer Aniston back, and Katie Holmes talking about divorcing Tom Cruise. “The level of fabrication has reached a fever pitch that we needed to do something about it,” said a spokesman for Wenner Media. “These headlines are completely egregious and misleading.”
So why not address its own mistakes while calling attention to the competition? “We do run corrections in the front of the magazine, and it happens in the regular course of news gathering,” said the Wenner spokesman. But, he added, “We don’t make up a headline.”
OK!, Life & Style, In Touch and Star stood by their stories when WWD called for comment, and a spokesman for Star further challenged the article. “I find it amusing that Us Weekly and [editor in chief] Janice Min thinks they are above all else in the celebrity category of weekly gossip magazines. How can she point fingers when [The New York Post's] Page Six had to run a retraction from picking up her stories in the last year?”
A Wenner spokesman responded to the Star spokesman: “We don’t say that we don’t make mistakes; that is the nature of any news gathering operation. What we don’t do is wholesale fabricate stories to sell magazines.” — Stephanie D. Smith
http://www.wwd.com/memopad/article/115486?page=1
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I just laughed about how A S S weakly and Star etc, don’t “wholesale fabricate stories to sell magazines”. Right, like - JRR Tolkein didn’t wholesale fabricate the Lord of the Rings or Jean Auel the earth’s children series even though most people would agree that these books fall within the realm of FANTASY.

Your analysis of BBT’s role in Angie’s life makes a lot of sense, Lylian. Now i feel bad for having seemingly dissed BBT in my previous post. lol. But seriously, i think we can all agree that people come into our lives at different points in our life so that we can learn particular lessons. There are people that come into our lives and stay for a little while and then move on or we move on; people that just touch our lives for a brief moment and we probably never see them again. And then there are people that come into our lives and stay for the remainder of our lives. i do believe Brad and Ange together are there for the long haul.

There is a poem that calls what you are talking about A REASON, A SEASON AND A LIFETIME. For Angie I think BBT was a season and Brad is a lifetime

That isn’t even accurate Dragonfly, he went through his “I am homeless” stage when he was with Jen. I think Angie has changed her appearance for Brad.
*********************************************************
Hahaha!! “I am homeless” stage”! Too funny! I do recall him growing a long beard for some movie that never got made, but as a casual fan of his at the time, all I recall is the slick, designer clothes guy from all the red carpet events, and even then I thought it was all Jen’s influence, you know…. her own personal Ken doll or something like that. I always thought he was too good for JA.
I agree with all of you that Angie has softened alot since becoming Brad’s lady. She never went for the girly girl stuff too much before. I agree that Brad must make her go, “Damn, I feel like a woman!”
Like I said earlier though, I still wish she would just bust out with a really killer dress every now and then, like the Showest dress from 2005. She looked mah-vel-ous in that colorful dress. I completely understand why she dresses down for business and political functions, I respect her for that, but when she’s promoting her acting work, that’s different…she usually always brings it, and it seems like it has been awhile since we got to see her like that.
Even though the two of them just showing up is quite enough, I am hoping we see something spectacular wardrobe-wise at Cannes…. that’s the place to show off a little.
BBT, Brad and Angie are all matured people. I think BBT even said that Brad is cool. As for JV, I think he gets it now, he knows everyone makes headlines out of Angie’s news and he might be avoiding giving the media something to talk about. Hopefully their relationship can be mended down the line.
If anyone does not wish to read about BBT, please skip.
I am not actually dissing BBT. I think he is a really smart guy with big talent. But he was not for Angie. BBT has quite single-life style and he was quite odd.
I think Angie would evolved without BBT-stage. Angie was reading Beyond Border script and learned about refugees around 1999 or 2000. She was changing. BBT was another way of her trying to find purpose - it seems Angie was all about family. Her father issue I think she overcome it once she became a mother (adoption of Mad). After adopting Mad, her conception on parents became solidified. She was really into family life even when she was pretty young - you know she got married when she was young. So the BBT stage was one way of Angie trying to find purpose in her life (she said she had everyting but was not happy in her interview). After UN work/adoption of Mad, she found her life-purpose. Every experience help people to grow up but BBT-stage was not big on her to become current her.

What you wrote is so true. I recall a saying that when the pupil is ready, the teacher will come. I’ve been so, so , fortunate in my life to have some marvellous teachers appear in my life, just when I was ready to learn.
Regarding JV’s appearence on Scarborough Country…
He was on there promoting a movie about a massacre perpetrated by Mormons. He touched on religious fanaticism. He also went on a tirade about the disrespectful treatment Bush is receiving by the Democrats.
Scarborough then turn the line of questioning to Angelina, stating that it must be hard for Jon to hear all of these stories about Angelina, nevermind that Scarborough usually dedicates a segment to said tabloid stories, focusing on Angelina. Jon started to say that the stories were getting out of hand; then he said that he would be there for his children, just like he always have…
About there was when I switched the channel. They will rebroadcast the show at 4 am EST.
When I first saw Angie and BBT together on the red carpet of the MTV movie awards years ago, I felt so disappointed that Angie was married to such a man who was so brazenly vocal that they just had sex in the limo and so turned off with the way he was fondling Angie inappropriately for the world to see. Both have won their Oscars and their PDA to say the least was tacky. BBT to treat his then wife the way he did was beyond disrespectful. BBT was much older than her but he didn’t act like it. Angelina then looked hard and troubled and I wondered if she was on her way of wasting her life instead she evolved into motherhood and being a humanitarian. I admire that Angie who matured and got her act together

Thanks a million, peaches! i did a google search with “A REASON, A SEASON AND A LIFETIME” in the toolbar and found the poem you mentioned. There are tons of sites with this same theme. Here’s the poem you were talking about.
People come into your life
for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you figure out which one it is,
you will know what to do for each person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON. . .
It is usually to meet a need you have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty,
to provide you with guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually.
They may seem like a godsend, and they are!
They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part,
or at an inconvenient time, this person will say
or do something to bring the relationship to an end.
Sometimes they die.
Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.
What we must realize is that our need has been met,
our desire fulfilled, their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered.
And now it is time to move on.
Then people come into your life for a SEASON….
Because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn.
They bring you an experience of peace, or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.
Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons
: things you must build upon in order to have
a solid emotional foundation.
Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person,
and put what you have learned to use in all
other relationships and areas of your life.
It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

I really like BBT and respect him as an artist, he’s a terrific actor and story teller, but, too true, he was not right for Angie. He was more like “Mr. Right Now”. Angie was truly in love with him at the time, and if she had not had the experience she did with BBT, she might not have been set on the path to meet and fall in love with Brad. Every person in your life shapes it and contributes to who you are as a person.
And at least, as some of you already pointed out, BBT was man enough to publicly admit he was a jerk and take responsibilty for it. Good man. He’s a stand up guy. I could say the same for Brad’s ex if she had done the same thing.

Caption: Angelina Jolie on the cover of the first issue of a magazine for mums. SM, or “Single Mother”, put the actress on the cover to praise the way she has shown motherhood and that helping children has been more imprtant to her than fame and her Hollywood career.
Wow, feel the love. Amazing. lol
Anyone who thinks these two aren’t in it for the long haul, don’t have children. They have their life plan in place and are living their dream together. They are lucky to have found each other, and can afford to plan out their future. I think a good majority of people have to take it day to day and just hope it all works out so they forsure have the advantage there. lol
I agree with a reason, a season and a lifetime. The best part about it is figuring it out as you go. People who you believe to be a lifetime, end up a season and visa versa. As long as you walk away learning something about yourself, it is always worth it. No matter if it was good or bad influence. And the lifetime become more charished because they are few and far between.
‘Ocean’s’ premiere supports Darfur
Stars to help raise funds for Not on Our Watch
By PAMELA MCCLINTOCK
Benefits surrounding the bow of ‘Ocean’s Thirteen’ will help raise funds for Darfur.
Weintraub
Hoping to spin hunk power into relief aid, producer Jerry Weintraub and “Ocean’s Thirteen” stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and Don Cheadle will use the bow of the summer tentpole to support relief efforts in the Darfur region of western Sudan.
Cadre is launching a new humanitarian org named Not On Our Watch through which to focus their efforts.
Weintraub will throw a launch party for the new org on May 22 in Cannes, two days before the Warner Bros. sequel makes its world preem on the Croisette.
In early June, Weintraub and his gang will host benefit premieres for the Warner Bros. film in Las Vegas and Chicago, with the proceeds going to Not On Our Watch.
North American preem takes place June 5 in Los Angeles. Earlier in the day, Weintraub, Clooney, Pitt and Damon will have their handprints and footprints cemented in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.
According to Warner, Weintraub is the first producer to have both his handprints and footprints taken.
“I’m really excited. I didn’t think I would be. I’ve had my star on Hollywood Blvd. for many years,” Weintraub said.
On June 6, Weintraub and many from the cast, which also includes Ellen Barkin, Al Pacino and Andy Garcia, head to Vegas, where “Ocean’s Thirteen” — set in Sin City — will open the CineVegas Film Festival.
Weintraub and his entourage will head from Las Vegas to Chicago, where a benefit preem hosted by Vanity Fair will be held June 7.
Not on Our Watch supports existing relief efforts in war-torn Darfur and works to protect the people living in that region.

Wow this will be a very Hollywood moment. Better than getting a star on the walk of fame. I can’t help not think about an episode of the old I love Lucy show where Lucy & Ethel are in Hollywood, bent on meeting celebrities. That variety article reminded me of the time they tried to take a celebrity cement block of the handprints and footprints. I think the movie star was John Wayne if I’m not mistaken.
good night.
I looked at that SM magazine cover. With mixed feelings…………………..yes, it is an amazing pic of Angie FULL STOP.
No, she is not a ’single mother’.
and BTW, what an unfortunate name-logo. SM? Even tho the actual name is spelled out right there beside the logo, i must say, “Single Mother” will not be the first thing that comes to mind on seeing at that logo! LOL.
