Angelina Jolie: Reader’s Digest Interview
Angelina Jolie goes face-to-face with Reader’s Digest in their June 2007 issue, opening up about her sexy partner, four adorable kids, and a family going global. Here are a few of the highlights:
Is it true that you adopted Pax so Maddox would have a brother who looked like him? Something changed for me with Shiloh. We had Mad and Z, and neither looked like Mommy or Daddy. Then suddenly somebody in the house looked like Mommy and Daddy. It became clear to us that it might be important to have somebody around who is similar to the other children so they have a connection. Mad’s been very excited that his brother is from Asia.
Is adopting a toddler different? Pax is almost three and a half and has never made a real decision for himself because everybody does everything in a group in the orphanage. There were all these things he’d never had. The first time I gave him a bath, he was suddenly laughing, out of his mind. He took five baths in one day. We’d be talking and he’d take his clothes off and run into the bathroom.
Do you and Brad ever have a conflict or a fight? Not really. We’ll get into issues about global events or something that was just on the news.
The gossip is unrelenting. You’re fighting, you’re jealous, he’s going back to Jennifer. Does it get to you? Our first question is what paper is it in. The New York Times? If not, do we really need to worry?
Do you want more children? Yeah, yeah. More biological, more adopted.

GREAT INTERVIEW!!
First
Great interview. I love the part about Pax taking 5 baths in one day. Except the the millions of dollars, and the crazy fame, this family is just like any other well adjusted growing clan.
She’s just really over-analyzing psychologically the whole chid-rearing thing. May be she’s got some emotional scarring from her own childhood, but that doesn’t mean those kids will.
Lighten up, Angelina!
She seems nice
Seriously though…I need me a Brad Pitt
Wasn’t the notorious article by Caryn James from the New York Times?
Thanks, Jared! Awesome interview, and I just love this woman and her family even more!

Read the whole thing, they asked her about that piece.
It sounds like they will adopt another African girl (for Z)and have another biological child(for Shi). They will have a total of six children, and everybody will be happy.
Thanks Jared. Great Interview…They are a wonderful couple and seems to love each other and their childred. Love them
On what Pitt finds sexy about her: “I could be dressed up in the sexiest outfit for a photo shoot, and by his behavior, he’ll let me know that’s nice, but it’s nothing as sexy as when I’m home surrounded by the kids or reading books, educating myself.” —I LOVE THAT PATRT
Reader’s Digest is read by over 70 million people world-wide in different languages.
This beautiful interview will be read by so many people.
RD: Was your pregnancy with Shiloh intentional?
Jolie: It was. Before I met Brad, I always said I was happy never to have a child biologically. He told me he hadn’t given up that thought. Then, a few months after Z came home, I saw Brad with her and Mad, and I realized how much he loved them, that a biological child would not in any way be a threat. So I said, “I want to try.”
WOW! Shiloh is a product of LOVE, UNSELFISHNESS and COMMITMENT to the future!
Thanks Jared!
Great interview and I couldn’t be prouder to be a fan of Angie.
Rock on Jolie-Pitts!!!!
I hope a Mighty Heart is seen by many people and that the message they want to convey - that we’re all the same no matter where you’re from - gets out to many more.
more kids = more population = more pollution = more global warming = killing more Africans in the future according to the latest official UN survey.
Thanks Jared!!! Great article. What a wonderful family.
This must be THE DEAL between Angie and Brad after every two adopted kids, one bio kid. Sounds very logical?
You are still trying hard to change the subject by making fun of misspelling of treat and threat; ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION FIRST. You can’t, can you?
It was Brad who fell in love Angie, but Angie was just looking for a loving, suitable father for her adopted kids. At the same time she had to comprimise something. The bio kid(S) Brad has been longing to have. Otherwise Brad could have walked away as he did with Gwyneth and Jennifer. Brad loved Gwyneth and Jennifer but at the end he left them for a reason.
After Mad and Z, here we go Shiloh, now Pax and sometime soon another black girl then it will be Brad’s turn second bio child. Everybody gets what they want. Happy endings
great interview, loving woman.angie adores brad and the kids.this is why people respect her.i she is a role model, there are few like her.god bless her
Angie is deeply in love
20 Terry Says… Is that you, Jennifer ???
;D
I don’t like them, but I accept that they are a couple with a family. They’re trying to raise their children like everybody else.
Arguing about global events or news on TV. Get real woman! This shows that Angie and Brad are not living together.
“Do you want more children? Yeah, yeah. More biological, more adopted.”
Love, love, love her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks j@red for this new thread. I love the entire interview, baby! I’m glad she gives us tidbits about their wonderful loving lives and how they cherish eahc moment..ahh talk about levitating again jp. I’m wishing them all the best!
Amazing interview,amazing lady.My favourite part:
“Jolie: I met this amazing person, and we realized we had very similar views on how we wanted to live our lives. It’s happened quickly, with so many children. Yesterday, picking up the kids from school, Brad turned around in the car, and there were three of them. He couldn’t stop laughing. We love them and are having a great time. ”
By the way,I just found this pic in Simplybrad from 5/2.It’s Brad and Shiloh.
