David Beckham Makes Plea For Missing Girl
Soccer star David Beckham has joined in on the crusade to find 3-year-old Madeleine McCann, who was snatched from her family’s hotel room apartment in Praia da Luz, Portugal, on Thursday, May 3.
Becks pleaded: “Last Thursday evening a little girl called Maddy was taken from the family hotel room in the Algarve in southern Portugal.
“As I’m sure you understand, we need to do everything possible to help the police with their enquiries in finding her.
“If you have seen this little girl please could you go to your local authorities or police and give any information that you have, any genuine information that you have. Please, please help us thank you.”

David is such a great man. This is not the first time he has called a family in need and asked to help. They asked him to do this and he agreed to whatever they wanted, he just wants to help. He did the same thing in 2002 when two 10 year old missing girls wearing his shirt. He is also the face of the new anti-malaria campaign, the new motorola red (with bono’s charity) campaign..and Beckham has has his own charity with his wife, proving just what a wonderful, caring man he is!
I heard that she was kidnapped in association with some kind of sex trade. i do hope that is not true for obvious reasons . . .
How horrible. I can only begin to imagine what this family is going through right now. I pray that little miss maddy finds her way home safe and sound to her family. Bless you Madeleine McCann. America cares.
This is a tragic story and I pray that this little girl is found alive and well. But at the same time, how wonderful that people like David Beckham and other well known footballers have come forward and are willing to use their high profile to some good. Good acts like this make me see David Beckham and his extravagent lifestyle in a whole new light. Well done. I hope that the monster who took her will see these pleas and return Maddy to her family.
This is a horrible crime regardless. It’s great that Beckahm lent his fame to the cause of recovering her alive and intact. I wish all the lost children of the world had champions like that…
As an aside, I do have to mention that his acting ambitions may be hampered by his odd little voice and crappy diction. I’d never heard him speak before and was dissapointed….again again while still giving him props for the effort.
lizzie, he’s a footballer not an actor.
I think she is alive. I hope she is alive. Today is her fourth birthday how sad *sigh*
HEY !! please help oko .. well im from SINGAPORE so ii don’t really think ii can help sorrie
Ts…..sad, yeah for the little girl…..her parents though are making me sick.
Leaving a 3-year-old ALONE in the room!!
I would put them into jail. Damn idiots.
But I really hope that they find the girl.
David’s appeal has generated a lot of news coverage which is really good.. from Spain, to Portugal, to America. its being played. Good for David, he always tries to help.
Becks is carring
all we can do is pray 4 the little girl ,,, I hope they find her
Wow I heard about thgis I hope they find her safe. Everyone should pay attention to this and realize your child is never safe alone even if locked in a hotel room. Now her parents have to live with the fact they did leave her by herself and someone took her which adds to the terrible tragedy.
That´s very sad…I´m from Portugal and the police (and even some voluntary people) is triyng everything to find her….but that´s so hard…there are almost no clues….I just hope they find her well and safe…
Black, she wasnt left in the room alone, she was left with her 2 year old twin siblings which is even worse seeing that the resort has a babysitting service that they didnt use. Its a sad state of affairs, and at least they still have the twins. Lets pray that they find this little girl soon.
Porra! isto tá apinhado de tugas
While I agree with what you have said Michelle: “I find it sad that the only kidnappings that ever get significant attention are those of adorable caucasian girls.” … I wish to expand upon that to say that it’s a shame that as much publicity given to this child and JonBenet Ramsey, and a (by comparison) few other children; should be given to ALL children, it’s not just a “race” issue. There are 100’s, 1000’s who knows how many children that go missing every day. But sadly these children do not receive the same publicity. I do feel for this child’s parent’s and family and I pray that she is found unharmed and returned. It’s not a matter of who made a plea from what soccer team first, or what country they are from. I’m a mother myself and can not fathom what those and any other parent feels when their child goes missing.
i hope they will find the beautiful girl… my birthday is on the same day with david beckham.
