Stephen Colbert: Let it RAIN!

Stephen Colbert: Let it RAIN!

Rain, it is time to reign you in…

Stephen Colbert covers Korean R&B phenom Rain in a hilarious music video parody called “Singin’ in Korean,” where — what else — he sings in Korean himself!

Hilarious!!!!! Why so random? Rain beat out Colbert in Time Magazine’s poll of 100 most influential people of the year. The K-pop sensation had almost half a million votes, over 100,000 more than Colbert, who placed runner-up.

WILL RAIN’S ANOTHER MV publish NEXT TIME. GREAT JOB YOU DONE

didn’t know much about Mr. Colbert fm the east part of the world … he’s funny though

i’m korean and rain is not really my cup of tea.
that was hilarious. hahaha.

Oh my gosh! I couldn’t believe this when I saw it the other day. I mean, his Korean actually sounds very good. Believe it or not, Rain has actually been on MTV and he toured with Omarion because Omarion loves how Rain (he is actually called BI in Korea because BI is korean for rain) dances. Anyways, I love Stephen’s video and I love his show! Eat his ice cream, it’s delicious! An young!

p.s.

Rain is called the Usher of Korea, too because Usher is R&B and that’s what Rain sings. If you want to hear a good song, “Slowly” is good.

HAHAHA! Stephen is a Genius! And also…seriously who the f*** is Rain?

Whoever he is, he sounds like a Korean version of Timberlake, Usher…and Whoop-de-fukcn-doo, he sounds like crap like the rest of them…How he beat Colbert, I don’t know…

Time should re-rank! Colbert should be number one after this parody! CLASSIC! Sorry, Rain, the white man’s got you down pat!

well an adult making fun on a young man, tried his best though …. the 30% korean pronounce & dance okido

well it’s more publicity for the both of them. its understandable how rain would beat colbert… colbert is only influential with a fraction of americans; whereas, rain is known throughout asia. funny parody, colbert is a clever man.

rain is a very famous singer in asia . we support him because he may not be the most talent people but he’s the most hard working people . we respect him because he has a very good personality and a kind heart . i agree that mr. colbert just raised rain’s profile in the states . i also wish he’ll invite rain on his show when he performs in NYC this summer .

Wow, Alessandra. Nice to judge the music when you never heard it and don’t understand the language! I’m a Korean American and I am not a Rain fan but there is no reason to hate on him just because he beat Colbert on an ONLINE poll for an English magazine. What an ignorant thing to do. You do know Colbert’s show is to poke fun at being biased and arrogant right? Oh yea, btw no one gives a crap if you called yourself anything. You aren’t famous.

On a side note Stephen Colbert is awesome, his dancing was hilarious and his Korean was horrendous but obviously he wasn’t trying to hard. I am surprised he went as far as to even listen to a song that Rain did and then to parody it = )

Hey, American, please do appreaciate the other cultures.

Alessandra @ 05/17/2007 at 12:08 pm

I have heard his music (youtube anyone?) and he sounds just like anyone else but in Korean. He can dance, I’ll give him that……but he sounds like every other generic **** out there…..which we don’t need more of. I’m not American by the way. Lalalalalalalalalalalala

As a Korean, I hope we can be civil.

But if people are not civil to you, I hope you can forgive others. If we forgive, we will reap enormous rewards in heaven, and will receive God’s forgiveness for our own sins.

But if we do not forgive, neither will God forgive us of our own sins.

There will be mean people in this world, but they are the ones who will not share in God’s eternal kingdom. Please fogive them.

God bless.

As a Chinese, I totally agree with Jamie.

I just read about this and just saw the video and I thought it was hilarious.

I’m Korean and I’m in the U.S. Army at the moment and I can understand that people of different cultures don’t understand each other. Alot of my peers come from small towns where they have never seen an Asian person aside from what they’ve seen on television. They think I know Kung-Fu(Chinese) or Karate(Japanese) and that I speak with a funny accent. I just think SOME people have to broaden their horizons and overcome ignorance.

One thing I know about alot of Koreans is that we are quick to jump the gun. Korean media probably saw the clip of Stephen Colbert mad in the beginning of the segment and parodying his video but didn’t realize or try to find out what his show was about. It was able to cause a stir so they ran with it.

Also, I just think people need to calm down and think. It was a joke. Get over it.

Stephen Colbert sucks!!! Rain deserves to top the poll.. Who is Stephen Colbert by the way? An ignorant old ****** man!!

LOL. First off I’m Korean and found this HILARIOUS!!!~

To the ignorant and self-righteous Koreans/Asians out there that feel offended by this video… It’s a joke… So just laugh at it… Seriously… Unless your Rain himself, there’s not much of a reason to get mad at Steven.

Steven… You’re the best. Keep making those vids. I’ll be looking forward to another one!

man, krn press has to cool off
im a krn in the bay area
laughin his ass off at dis vid
But krn press was quick to find out nd was enraged
However i agree with de comments made by most krns up dere about how we should all just laugh bout it cuz its just a joke by none other den STEPHEN COLBERT

its hilarious that rain beat colbert on de poll, tho
nd btw, mr. colbert’s krn pronunciation isnt bad at all for a white man

Americans is so self-centric, that they don’t even realize that there are so many other things/culture out there.

Americans “are” so self-centric.

Write it right. And we’ll listen, might…

“dont think the whole world just =America …tats so ignorant..and stupid.. ”

Don’t think the whole world revolves around your opinion dumdass that is ignorant and idiotic.

And America being ignorant? ARE YOU F@$KING JOKING? YOU ASIANS ARE IGNORANT. YOU GUYS DIDN’T EVEN VOTE(10) FOR ANYBODY ELSE THEN RAIN! JUST SENDING CHAINMAILS AND POSTS GIVING URLS OF RAIN AND OTHERS ABOVE RAIN. THAT IS CALLED IGNORANCE.

I reckon with comment #10.

america is not homogenous @ 02/25/2008 at 12:54 am

It’s ridiculous to say stuff like this —> “Americans is so self-centric, that they don’t even realize that there are so many other things/culture out there”

1.) America is not a homogeneous country. America is composed of groups of people from MANY different cultures and countries. While there are small places in the country that aren’t culturally diverse, they are becoming smaller and fewer. Even outside of major cities, most Americans regularly meet people from other countries and cultures.

2.) I’m an American. I am not Asian at all. I can read and write 한글…
내가 한국말을 할 수 있고 김치를 좋아합니다.

i luv both rain & stephen : D
