Fashion Faceoff: Who Looks Best in Black?

Actresses Charlize Theron, Ellen Pompeo and Penelope Cruz all don head-to-toe black Dior by John Galliano at the Dior 2008 Cruise Collection fashion show on Monday in New York City.

Charlize went classy in an asymmetrical dress, Ellen opted for a long wrap dress while Penelope wore a low-cut sparkly number.

They are all beautiful women. I think Penelope’s dress suits her best. I think Ellen Pompeo has too much dress. All that black is overpowering. And I’m not crazy about the way her hair is styled. For hair and make-up I pick Charlize and for total look, Penelope.

I’m a big Ellen fan, and most of the time she looks great on special events, but this time I honestly say she is NOT pretty on this dress and the hair is just awful! So I’ll go for Charlize. and Penelope is just too busy “doing” Lenny Kravitz these days so she’s not on her best looks either!

In any other case I would hate the dress Charlize has on but she owns it and look absolutely STUNNING. She is so beautiful as a brunette. I’ve got no love for the other two.

Ellen is not so attractive and people tend to like her because the confuse her with Meredith Grey. By the way, that dress is horrible.

And of course, the most beautiful is Charlize Theron.

Charlize looks just about perfect here (w/o that every-hair-in-place ‘manufactured’ look), as always. My only quibble: she’d look better in black if she were back to blonde (contrast?). P.Cruz has the coloring to *always* look great in black. Miss Pompeo looks dressed up for a costume party as Morticia Addams (and not remotely like the divine Anjelica) — way too much fabric just hanging on Ellen’s poor spindly frame.
