Jessica Alba: GQ Cover Girl
Jessica Alba storms onto the June 2007 cover of GQ magazine. With her six movies coming out this year, it’s not wonder Hollywood’s “It” Girl is garnering so much attention.
But will all of this work help movie execs, as Alba wryly puts it, in “getting past my hotness?”
- On men and their relentless eyeballing: “When you see the camera right here, you’re like, ‘Uh, that’s my crotch… I’m going to stand over here.’ You know? Cameramen are just horny sometimes.”
- On her self-proclaimed hotness closing a few doors: “Right now, I’m just exploring what my contribution to this business is—other than wearing a bikini and getting caught by the paparazzi.”
- On being clumsy: “I fell so many times on The Eye, the crew there would get embarrassed for me. When I first met [co-star] Alessandro [Nivola], I fell down the stairs. And then on Fantastic Four, I would always twist my ankle and fall down completely. It’s just frustrating, always hurting yourself. For Dark Angel, Jim Cameron actually made me do gymnastics and dance training so I could be more coordinated.”

Yeah, R we’re just jealous *rolls eyes*. Always the idea, when another girl comments on something they don’t like about this chick. I think she’s pretty but these pictures are not her best! Ive seen far better looking pictures of her. She was absolutely gorg in Fantastic four too.

I have nothing to say about the picture. What I would like to say is that any woman anywhere who wants to be taken seriously in a world where the glass ceiling can get lower just because you are a woman, should utilize her intellect and talent to make her point. Regardless of the kind of body you have or do not have, I think it’s important to first know who you are and what you stand for-with that said, young women in hollywood should stop allowing agents, publicists and “their people” convince them to “*****” themselves in public. If the public wants to see you on the big screen, they will go according to how you present yourself on screen. I am reminded of actresses like Hepburn, close, streep, and field. I cannot remember them selling themselves in that way. If you work in a law firm, you should be able to be respected based on how well you represent your clients, not how well you turn the men on with your attire. My personal opinion is this. If Jessica Alba wants to be taken seriously, she should read a few books, commit to a cause of two, and draw a clear distinct line as to what she is really selling and representing with respect to acting. She should never allow anyone, any dollar amount and any fan base change that.

Except for the pic where there’s water gushing from her mouth, I think she looks rather nice. Granted, I’ve never understood all the hype surrounding her. She’s pretty and she at times has a lovely curvy body but her looks aren’t extraordinary. You can find a Jessica equivalent in any urban Hispanic community in America.
She has actually lost a lot of weight, but she is still beautiful and I love her so much!!

So when other actresses i.e. Angelina, Cameron, Charlize, Drew etc, etc Pose for sexy pictures in magazines for promotion for thier up coming movies, it is ok and and they can be taken seriously, but when Jessica does it, it is not ok and she is a hypocrite??? All she said was she wanted to get past JUST being about the bikini body.She did not say she would never do it again or criticise others who have.

I remember seeing her in the movie NEVER BEEN KISSED with Drew Barrymore and I thought she was a pretty normal weight girl…then she turned into a bony, washed out looking Hollywood *****. Her talent is limited like Jessica Biel and still they get magazine covers over more beautiful interesting actresses. I never thought she was more then pretty or cute…I don’t get the big deal about her looks…there are tons of more exotic, healthier looking latinas.

Yes she is a hypocrite. All of these actresses (talented) you mentioned are serious actresses who are respected and they don’t have to be showin’ the goods to get the good roles.
