SOOOOOOOO HAAAPPPY! melinda was not that great. she is black and all black ppl can sing no offense but its true. she is also TOO old to be an american idol she is like 27-28. Did u watch her hometown thing…they were ALL elderly ppl out to support her. Melinda also always did this AWFUL throaty thing that was pretty annoying. Jordin is sure to win!!!!!!!!

melinda and lakisha are better off not having the AI label on them, everyone know they’re good and now they can have more options to choose from then just being stuck with AI. Its a blessing in disguise look at jennifer hudson.

She is a good singer for a certain type of music … not for most of america obivously. She sings songs that were on records before she even born, what kind of CD would she put out? She will be fine and get her gig she is not american idol material, sorry she would not selll millions of records like the other idols have … better voice yes but not for all music so that is why she left tonight. not because jordin or blake are better singers, american idenifies more with their style then someone that sings from 1960’s

nobody can deny the girl can’t sing. BUT, they never once advised her to sing something contemporary. i’m not sure the girl every went past 1965, i mean honestly. i think that is what did her in. she felt old, her sound was old.

That really sucks! If anyone deserves to be Idol, it’s Melinda. She’s someone whose concerts I want to go to and whose albums I want to buy. Vocally superior to the other two. Although Jordin is very good, she needs a few more years experience before she’s idol material. Now I don’t want to watch the finale. SIGH!

I know alot of you are probably mad about Melinda leaving, but know that either way Melinda is gonna have a great career. She’s a great singer and performer. I think alot of people thought she was gonna be safe today, and got lazy with voting for her.

Blake and Jordin were always my favorite and I’m glad thier there. Blake doesn’t have the best voice, but he was overall the better male throughout it. OMG I am so happy . I have always expressed how I wanted a Jordin/Blake finale and thats what its going to be. I like Jordin just a tad bit more than Blake but I dont care who wins I will be buying both their records. Now if only Dancing with the Stars will have Apolo win I will be in reality show heaven.

Well, I’m not even going to watch the result show tonight (I’m on the west coast) — and I have officially stopped watching AI tonight. This pisses me off, I actually had stopped watching AI since season 3, and started watching this season when I saw Melinda sang “I’m a Woman” a few months ago (before the Top 12). I’m disappointed.

I HATE people who make comment about other people’s “physical limitation” — like the “no neck” — or I also heard and read people write about Hllary Swank having a “horse face” — I mean, EVEN IF it’s true — it’s not like there’s anything they could do about it. Why go there? Are you that miserable in life that the only thing you could feel good about yourself is to attack the aspect they don’t really have any control over?

If this Jordin girl wins, there is something she can do about it: GO ON A DIET! She should take better care of herself and look like a star. Yay, I’m so happy that Blake is still in. I was shocked to see Melinda go, though. She probably had one of the best voices on American Idol ever. But even if Melinda or Jordan had won, there’s really nothing about them that seperates them from all other girls who can sing. Even if they make an album, after a few years they’ll be forgotten about. They can sing, but that’s all they can do. Blake doesn’t have the best voice, but Blake is the most creative. Blake is very unique, and that’s really important if you wanna make it big. You need so much more than just a good voice.

I too am going to boycott American Idol next week and the following season. I’m just so sick and tired of this bullshit with the votes and all. Everyone knows that Melinda was the best — right from the beginning when she sang “My Funny Valentine,” which is what sold me.

So Melinda consistently does good and gets booted this close to being a finalist? !! In favor of Blake? (That beatbox **** he does has been tired for weeks now) I mean, every song? Can he really use his voice to sing or not? And Jordin? You gotta be kidding !! Can carry a tune, but she’s inconsistent and doesn’t have no way near the training that Melinda had. Both she and Blake are neophytes. And they get to be the finalists? Bullshit !! It’s such an insult to Melinda and those of us fans who can actually decipher between a real singer from a wannabe singer.

I’m so through with this show. For six seasons now it’s been the same old bullshit with the voting process. I’m so tired of investing my time and emotion into this show ending with the obviously more talented contestants out on their butts.
Anybody remember Tamyra Grey? LaTanya? Bo Bice? Hell, I’ll go out on a limb — Katherine McFee? All of those finalists or semi-finalists most certainly should have won the title besides those who did. But because of AI’s fucked up voting process they didn’t. I’ve been saying for years that this **** is rigged. I mean, why else is American Idol the only contestant talent show that doesn’t involve the judges votes? “Dancing with the Stars” has a process where they allow you to vote via phone AND by computer, with a limited number of votes each, which are combined with the judges votes. The same goes with “So You Think You Could Dance?” — at least for most of the show. But with AI they allow people to vote with abandon a thousand times over ! Is that fair? Doesn’t even sound like it’s meant to be fair?

So somebody please tell me, what the hell are the AI judges there for except to critique and make snide comments to each other? They really have no purpose except to try and influence the voters. This stinks. And it’s the last time I’m going to watch the show. I’m boycotting, for real. Like I said, it’s a total waste of my time when the producers allow the public to consistently chose the wrong finalists and winners. I’m done. AI, Simon, Randy, Paula, the show’s producers, and those dumb ass fans who voted for Blake (listen up Elisabeth Hasselback and Rosie O’Donnell — who unflinchingly and unfairly promoted and urged viewers every week to vote Blake) could go and **** themselves. I’ve had it !!

Melinda was a professional singer and I don’t think that was actually that good for her. She was so good, it didn’t even seem whe was in the same contest, but that made her totally unexciting.

I can’t imagine any c.d. I would buy from her. NOW BLAKE!!!!! THAT IS ANOTHER STORY. He’s fun, fresh, a better singer than maroon 5. He will do great, I am so excited for him. Also Jorden is so geniune and loveable, what a great commodity for american Idol. I hope she wins. She will need to for her career to take off. Not the other 2.

, she said that recently when she met him that he gave her a comedy reel as an audition. She basically said that he is not in it for the singing, but for the fame. She also said that it really wont help him when he is working in the mall in about six months. With Jordin I see no edge or talent, it is basically marketable looks, but that only gets you so far. Just ask Katherine Mcphee.

Since Melinda is not in the final (SAD….), I am Rooting for Blake!!!!!! He is just a new fresh air for the AI. Although Jordin is a good singer, but we have much better singer from the previous AI, such as….Kelly C, Fantasia & Carrie Underwood. It’s nice to have Blake as the AI winner, he brought something diffrent to AI.

Melinda will be fine with or without “american idol” attached to her name. She’s by far one of the best singers to come out of that show, give or take a few names, kelly clarkson, chris from last year, elliot amin-who was great last night. By this time next year we’ll all be hearing her new hits on the radio.
