DiCaprio: Go Green Now Before It’s Too Late
Writer/Producer/Narrator Leonardo DiCaprio stands sandwiched between co-director sisters Leila and Nadia Conners at the photocall for their documentary The 11th Hour at the Palais des Festivals during The Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.
“Global warming is a reality. It is happening,” DiCaprio told reporters. “In the last year, people are taking this issue more seriously than they ever have, and it’s a direct result of affecting people’s emotions in a cinematic format.”
The long-time environmental activist added, “We are the largest superpower in the world. We’re are also the largest polluters. It’s ultimately us as the largest democracy in the world to be the ones to set an example … if we don’t do it, how is the rest of the world supposed to follow?”

After new research, a growing number of prominent scientists are now skeptics of man-made global warming.
-I read that, and first of all it’s an article, not a scientific, peer-reviewed journal. It has clipped together statements from some scientists and a few others, but it might as well be some ******* off the street because there is not scientific data collected to support their OPINIONS…not against man-made global warming, not for their crackpot theories. Nothing. I know, you would hope that people wouldn’t publish things like that unless it was 100% true, but it’s not held to the same standards as a peer reviewed journal would be, so they can do what they do. Try this reading this, and tell me whose information holds up. http://ipcc-wg1.ucar.edu/wg1/docs/WG1AR4_SPM_PlenaryApproved.pdf
SEXY never left !!!!! He is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! FREAKIN HOT !!
Choose what you want to believe, but “global warming” is a big money-making industry right now.
Actors should not give their opinions about anything but acting.
People have cared about global warming for decades. Leo Dicaprio wasn’t some sort of heroic maverick, as it was already a scientific consensus. Al Gore, I give props to b/c he was hurt politically for his beliefs and he refused to back down (even back in ‘92 he was singled out as a “tree hugger”). Leo, in reality, took no risks.
Leo looks amazing in theese pictures, likte JT song: Sexy Back … yeaah leo is back and SEXY ;D
He`s sooo beautiful. I love him!! This documentation is a great job and very important!
Leo looks great
Anonymous is a damn fool if s/he thinks that destruction of the environment is a myth. Anyone with half a brain can see it all around us.
Thank you Jared for the lovely pics of Leo!! Leo never said he was an expert, thats for the scientist in his film, he just put the film together..geesh! He is just a concern citizen trying to do his part, so why not?
So how are environmentalist, or government environmentalist suppose to get around the world? by hot air balloon? rowing a boat across the oceans? You have to use planes…until they can find another means of getting around, but for now they have no choice. They are working on it to find solutions, already the hybrid cars started its a first step in the right direction.
As for #29…your comment is very ignorant, Ronald Regan was an actor before he became President of United States, so was Arnold Swatzerneger..how ever you spell his name, also an actor, who became governor of California, both have done very well in the political field.
Why can’t actors speak out, or anyone for that matter, they are all concerned citizen like any of us. If you don’t like what they say, don’t listen!
I applaud Leo for doing what he believes in, and spreading out the message to take care of the earth, we can all do our bit, its through education, and doing something about it.
LEo BELLo ? no !!!!!!!
Ronald Reagan, that’s how you spell it, was much more than an actor. You cannot compare Leonardo DiCaprio to him, by any means. Ronald Reagan was also a college graduate, with a degree in economics and sociology, and he served in the armed forces during World War II. He was not really that famous of an actor, by the way.
I don’t listen to actors to learn how to live. They, as the “jokers” of our society today, have no business telling the public what to do, and that is exactly what they try to do. They ought to try studying acting more. Their salaries do not match their talents.
“Global warming” is run by big money. The fact that the public is unaware of this is dreadful. The media gets louder as the “evidence” gets smaller. The earth has always been changing. The average temperature for this past April was COOLER than normal across this country.
funny you don’t mention Arnold education..oh well, whatever! Leonardo gives alot of money towards environmental causes,at least he is doing something about it. I don’t know what the others do. If you don’t like what actors have to say, nobody is forcing YOU to listen to them, but they DO have a right like anyone else to voice their opinions, they pay their taxes, vote like anyone else. What country are you talking about being cooler? Ronald REAGAN was a very popular in HIS days of acting, tons of films he did from the 1930s to 1960’s FOR your info..check this out
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001654/
The United States of America was cooler this past April than normal. Sorry, Ronald Reagan was not considered one of the biggest or most famous actors of his day. I know what movies he did, and he even said, “I was the Errol Flynn of B movies.” I don’t care about Arnold S. Anyway, Leonardo DiCaprio is not in the government. He is merely an actor, and one with little education, at that.
I don’t listen to actors, however, the media gives them too much air time. If they truly wanted a good career in acting, they would keep quiet about topics other than acting. An air of mystery is much better.
He has a big baby face :D
No, you certainly CAN’T compare DiCaprio to Reagan. Given Reagan’s atrocious record on issues of social justice and humanitarianism, it’s an insult to Leo to compare the two.
Furthermore, an intelligent person understands the difference between formal education and intelligence. DiCaprio is obviously extremely well-read; that much comes across in interviews that have nothing to do with his environmental views.
I’d suggest to you, Anonymous, that you get off your high horse. A college education is certainly no guarantee of intelligence, and there are plenty of politicians out there who are living proof.
I love him so much!!!! He is so talented, handsome, smart, succesful and the fact that he is so passionate about the environment and making people conscious about the problem of global warming makes him even hotter!!! He is my ideal man.
To whomever that said he has great skin, are you blind? Older guys like Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt have better skin and look 10x better than him.
Leo has great skin no pimples there, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I happen to think Leo is hot, the whole package. A very classy man indeed.
Leo is looking lovely as usual :)
he’s a ****. the biggest beady eyed slimy ****-*** that ever existed. **** off dicaprio
