Is it just me or does angie look like her mother in some of the pictures and i mean that in a lovely way it’s just something about her features it reminds me of her mom at the original sin premiere.

Now Brad looks better than he did earlier. His hair looks nice and they just looks so good together.

God I hate S t Johns. They could have produced something really special for her and this is what they do. Its nice and she makes it look good but if I’m honest I have to say I’m a little dissappointed. Micha friggin Burton has on a more appropriate dress. Brad is definitely starting to look like an old shoe. I can’t help but notice that he seems to hardly ever smile with Angie. But maybe that’s just part of his “morphing” into Angelina because she hardly ever smiles either. He’s still one hot man though, much MUCH hotter than Angelina. Sorry, her big head and features look swollen.

Dig Brad’s hairstyle though. It’s like a subtle promotion for his Jesse James flick, ha ha.

That does not look like the faces of a happy man or a happy couple. No smile in their eyes…. not in any photos of them taken in CANNES. Not a “naysayer” but they do not look happy and Brad looks horrible lately! What’s with his attire? Baggy jeans? too long shirts? scruffy? he looks horrible and older. She would look nice if she wore SOMETHING other than black for a change! For a woman who is already too thin, she should look at softer colors rather than going “goth” all the time.

Jolie, Pitt get emotional unveiling Daniel Pearl film

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt spoke emotionally about love and family as they premiered their new film Monday about the murder of US reporter Daniel Pearl by Islamic extremists.

CANNES, France (AFP) - “A Mighty Heart” starring Jolie, produced by Pitt and directed by Britain’s Michael Winterbottom, was warmly applauded at a packed screening, with some critics saying it was the actress’s best work since her 2000 Oscar for “Girl, Interrupted”.

Hollywood’s golden couple was joined at the Cannes film festival by Pearl’s widow Mariane, whose book on her husband’s murder while researching terrorist networks in Pakistan in 2002 is the basis of the movie.

The 31-year-old actress said she was at about the same point in her pregnancy with Pitt’s child when she began filming that Pearl had reached when she confronted her husband’s kidnapping and subsequent beheading.

“I remember being six months pregnant and thinking ‘I can’t imagine at this time not having the father with me and being concerned about his life and trying to eat and trying to remember to get some sleep’,” she said.

“So as a woman it just made me so much more connected to (Mariane) and aware of her and also knowing that carrying that life inside, that little boy that’s half Danny that is so so amazing and her love — I’m sure there couldn’t also have been a greater gift at that time to help pull her through something like that.”

Pitt, 43, said starting a family with Jolie, a goodwill ambassador for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, had pushed him to pursue work that mattered.

“As a father, too, I look at my kids and realise that they will inherit this world, and I know this is true for Mariane as well and we want to do everything we can to throw our weight in and make it a little bit better,” he said.

Pitt, who is also in Cannes for the premiere of the all-star caper “Ocean’s Thirteen” on Thursday, said he had been inspired by Mariane’s courage and empathy for other terror victims.

“The strength of Mariane through this situation — for me it was an epiphany. As Angie said, she had every reason to come out of this embittered and angry and full of hatred and instead has shown us another way,” he said.

“It lights the way for me.”

Jolie, who underwent a complete makeover to play Pearl, a Frenchwoman of Cuban and Dutch origin, said the film had also made her and Pitt reconsider the role of the media and the hounding they face daily by celebrity photographers.

“There were the scenes where there were paparazzi and I felt sorry for her (Mariane), thinking ‘My god, what this must be like for somebody in that situation, that I really can’t imagine — going through that, having that kind of media coverage for something as difficult as that and for somebody who is not used to it…’”

The A-list couple also gently teased each other during the press conference.

When Pitt was asked to follow up on Jolie’s remarks about religious conflict and reconciliation, the distracted actor apologised with a laugh: “I was wafting in the words of…what’s her name.”

Pearl said she had developed a friendship with Jolie and Pitt and was very pleased with the film.

“We’ve grown quite close,” Pearl said. “I think of my son who will one day see this film — it was a great moment of pain but it is addressed (in the film) by someone who loves me and that means a lot to me.”

The film, which is screening out of competition at Cannes, recreates a scene in the book in which Pearl sharply attacks a CNN reporter who had asked at the time whether she had seen the video of her husband’s beheading.

In a poignant exchange, the journalist appeared at the Cannes press conference to ask Pearl: “Could you forgive me now if you haven’t yet?”

Pearl replied: “I accept your apologies.”

Winterbottom said he saw the film as a continuation of themes covered in his 2006 feature “Road to Guantanamo,” a docu-drama about three British citizens held at the US lockup in Cuba for several months without charge.

But he dismissed a reporter’s question about whether his sympathy for the former Guantanamo inmates meant he empathised with Pearl’s killers.

“They were in a sense caught up in the sort of post-9/11 conflict in the same way that Danny and Mariane were I think,” he said. “Of course it’s completely wrong…but it is part of the same situation.”

As the two super-celebs walked past the pack of photographers, a flashbulb frenzy erupted. Pitt, 43, stopped to talk to those around him. Jolie offered a quick wave.

“For me, so much of why this film was important to do is because I highly doubt there is anybody in this room who has more reason to hold hate inside herself than Mariane, and she doesn’t,” Jolie—who sat next to costar Dan Futterman (Daniel Pearl) and five people away from Pitt—told AP reporters. “That is, I think, a lesson for all of us.”

I would like to just congratulate the Jolie-Pitts for not repeating a scene from MAMS-I know it’s hard (especially for Brad) for that much Hotness to be that close to each other. Actually I think they should both win an Oscar for their portrayal as two celebrities who are calm, cool, and collected around each other. If you pay very close attention, these two can’t really do question and answer sessions without flirting or winking or just being mesmerized. Hot substances that are overly electrically charged just have a hard time being normal when they are put in close proximity. In Japan, Angie couldn’t stop winking at him-He couldn’t keep his hands still when they premiered TGS-Gore can just give the little green earth saving global warming thingy up-Global Warming is probably going to evolve into Global melting because of Jolie-Pitt-We’d have to exile them to Alaska in order to stop it! Brad had no earthly idea what the question was-He was thinking about that little chocolate flavored thong under that black dress!

CANNES, France - While it’s not hard to be disturbed by the subject matter of the film “A Mighty Heart,” one wouldn’t necessarily expect an incredibly tense moment during its star-studded news conference in Cannes.

On Monday morning, star Angelina Jolie, producer Brad Pitt, director Michael Winterbottom, cast members Dan Futterman, Irfan Khan and Archie Panjabi along with Mariane Pearl, the widow of decapitated journalist Daniel Pearl and author of the book from which the film is adapted, appeared before the frenzied international media for a Q&A session.

The usual sorts of questions were asked of Pitt and Jolie; some to do with acting and producing or their feelings about the film and of course the inevitable “What do you think of Cannes?” (Pitt said, “It doesn’t feel much different because we usually have a camera following us every day”), but no one was prepared when a Bloomberg TV journalist took the microphone.

“Hi, Mariane,” he said, to which she replied with a nod. “We meet again,” he added before going on to explain that he was in fact the reporter represented in the film who asks a controversial question. “What is in the film isn’t exactly what I said and I wish someone more handsome could have played me, like Brad. But, I wanted to ask you Mariane, would you forgive me?”

A hush fell over the room before Pearl said, “I accept your apology.”

The question had been, “Did you watch the tape?”

Amazingly beautiful and simply stunning!!!!

It really annoys me how the Maniston fans/haters criticise Angie’s appearance all the time. I mean they expect her to be perfect because of the media obsession. But the reality is, she isn’t perfect. The superstar couple dazzled at the world premiere of their new joint movie, A Mighty Heart.

Pitt produced the film - with Jolie starring.

It’s based on the life of slain journalist Daniel Pearl and the Wall Street Journal reporter’s wife, whom Jolie portrays in the film, joined the two for the movie’s premiere.

We hear she’s quite happy with the results.

You know I was just thinking that looking at Brad and Angie at Cannes is like people who love golf being alive in the time of Tiger Wood or basketball fans who actually saw Michael Jordan play, we all heard about hollywood magic, but its been lacking of late, and then comes along Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bring back the magic, and you just know people will be talking about them for years to come.

Thanks AG, I should be fine tomorrow, I agree it is kind of nice to be under the weather today, especially a day like this, with all these beautiful pictures of Brad and Angie, but girl my tummy hurts I know huh, sick and been home for six weeks and nothing on the JPs and now when we are getting pictures etc every 10 seconds, you are back to work, that is so not fair; but you know what you are well again, so thank goodness for that; and the JPs are doing great, loving all these beautiful pictures that we are getting of them.

Team Lara Croft, I love your post, agree, agree, agree! I cannot imagine a more beautiful and charismatic couple. The story about how he was staring and smiling at her at the table, and forgot his question and the acknowledged why (because he was smitten by “what’s her name”) will become famous. For those of us pining away for him to say he loved her, he just did, big time! I absolutely LOVE that he combed his hair down all nice like a little boy going to a dance. You know I was just thinking that looking at Brad and Angie at Cannes is like people who love golf being alive in the time of Tiger Wood or basketball fans who actually saw Michael Jordan play, we all heard about hollywood magic, but its been lacking of late, and then comes along Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bring back the magic, and you just know people will be talking about them for years to come.

As a golf lover I know what you mean. I wouldn’t have wanted to live in any other era of golf. Similarly, Angie and Brad (at this stage of their careers and personal development) epitomise Old Hollwood. They are so freaking goodlooking and they complerte each other at this time.

Earlier in her life Angie wouldn’t have been the match for Brad. But she has grown personally and whatever her sins of the past she has become the woman she was meant to be. So much so, her mother must have felt easier in her spirit dying at this time, because she could see her daughter had matured and was a capable, loving mother and partner living a purposeful life. Marcheline could probably see that Angie had finally had the good sense to choose a real man who was going to help her become an even better person.

Glamour, compassion, kindness and humaity, talent, benevolence…Angie and Brad have created anew kind of Hollywood royalty. They have set a new standard for excellence in Hollywood …raised the bar, with their total package, because the old Hollywood icons were not so much in charity and world affirs. They were mostly beautiful and self-absorbed (Audrey Hepburn an obvious exception) into conspicious consumption and feathering their own nest. I think we are lucky to live in this era where Angie and Brad attempt to show Hollywood how to combine the two successfully.

IFCTV.COM has live feed of Cannes Festival, and they just showed the director & cast of the film exiting the festival. The photographers were anxiously awaiting their photo ops of the cast. Angie was in the middle next to Marianne, Brad was to their far left. The photographers went nuts, lol. All you could see were flashes nonstop.

The security kept motioning for them to give the cast room and allow them down the red carpet. At a certain point when they were nearing the end the photographers really let loose and just raised their cameras and just snapped, and snapped, and snapped.

The funny thing is, they directed their cameras straight at Angelina. And I mean a blinding fury of snaps at her, almost circling her in a mob kinda way. I mention this because you would think Angie & Brad would be the photo op but instead they actually directed cameras away from Brad, to Angie solely.

The Photographers circled their car and continued to snap like their lives
depended on it. And a scuffle broke out between a few cameramen angling for position.

Pandemonium!

To say otherwise, would be to totally show their lack of credibility. They heard all the coments from the serious movie critics at Cannes. They couldn’t afford to go against what the experts were going to say. Afterall, they are a gossip rag…not a serious, cultural publication. Nobody was going to take their critique seriuously in any case, so why not go with the truth and not draw attention to themselves, as the only dissenting voice.

It is uncanny how much Brad resembles Robert Redford, he could pass for Robert’s son! It’s not just the looks because Brad looks alot like his real dad too, but it is in the way he presents himself and carries himself, the way he dresses sometimes and some gestures he makes and even when he speaks sometimes, like the press conference for A Mighty Heart.
I wonder if Robert was someone Brad admired when he was growing up and he first came to HW? Maybe he unconciously takes on some characteristics of Robert’s? Whatever, anyway it works for Brad because you can see his sincerity shining through. He & Angie look great!

Michael Winterbottom’s harrowing film about Danny Pearl, the Wall Street Journal reporter who was kidnapped and decapitated in Karachi in 2002, is a raw account about the frantic efforts to get him back. It nails the ghastly moment when journalists became prized scalps for terror organisations. Angelina Jolie plays Pearl’s pregnant wife, Mariane – on whose memoir the film is based – with a rigour and passion that surprised even the most jaded sceptics in Cannes.

The film begins on the day Danny (Dan Futterman) fails to turn up for supper. He is working on a story about the shoe bomber, Richard Reid, and has arranged a meeting with an organisation who have background knowledge. A missed supper becomes a crisis within 24 hours. The film charts the hollow weeks Danny is missing mostly through Mariane’s eyes. The house of a close colleague becomes headquarters during the desperate search for motives and information.

There is a confusion of investigators treading on each other toes, and contradictory information about who might have snatched Pearl. Leaks and rash speculation in the press add to the vertiginous panic. At times it’s difficult to know who exactly is in charge. A terrific cast of fixers and officials tease out clues from laptops, emails, and telephone numbers. An uneasy alliance is gradually forged between an American diplomatic security agent, Randall Bennett (Will Patton), various Wall Street Journal friends including the editor, John Bussey (Denis[correct] O’Hare), the head of the Pakistan’s brand new counter-terrorism unit, Captain (Irrfan Khan), the Citizens Police Liaison Committee, and the FBI.

At the still centre of this increasingly tense investigation is Jolie’s defiant Mariane. The film shuttles manically between meetings, endless telephone calls, the growing media frenzy, and the streets of Karachi with terrific confidence. What the kidnapping means to each character is etched on their faces. The power of this giant documentary-style jigsaw lies between the rumours, the false leads, and the hard details. Okay, they both are definitely so overwhelmingly stunning!!! So divine! So classic! Looking at Brad, I couldn’t help but think of that old world glamour. Her dress is just beautifully perfect!!! Now this is what I call outstanding red carpet showing.

I watched the premiere on canal + (french chanel). I taped the whole thing. I was like *Whee!* Angie was stunning. Brad was super sexy. He looks way better in motion than on stills.They both were itwed by the journalist of Le Grand Journal. Brad was looking at Angie while she was intwed .He was holding her hand and he led her away. I was surprised at the diffrence btw pics and motion. He seemed really to be the one in charge, very protective of her and very relaxed.I don’t get this vibe the from pics but it’s obvious in motion . Both looked more relaxed in motion. The camera followed them in the festival place and they were applauded.

I hope I didn’t make you and the other newbies feel bad about not being here.

It’s just that on that day, things were really tense– a lot of us was nervous because days before, we heard that Angelina were having contractions. Anyway, a lot of people were really nervous, but when we got the news, in bits and pieces… Brad and Angelina had a baby girl; the baby girl was born healthy; the baby girl was 7lbs; the baby girl’s name was Shiloh; the baby girl’s full name was Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt… then we got barraged with the name’s meaning… it was a collective experience. And quite frankly, I really don’t remember if the haters interjected their venom or not.

It was just pure fun. I think that Shiloh’s birth was better because we didn’t have images/pics available; we allowed our imaginations to go. But today is really up there for me– there is no way I would wave away any of the images/videos that we’ve seen today.

This is so good and mercifully, regulars and newbies alike have made this day even better. ;)

When the kids aren’t there, they can’t keep their eyes (or their hands) off each other :)

Just saw the video where BP says he was wafting in the words of what’s her name. Can you just see some fool tabloid reporter going “Trouble in Paradise: Brad Forgets Angie’s name”….Nah, they wouldn’t….couldn’t. Oy, who knows for this rags, can’t put anything pass them. It would be funny though.

If they do that, knowing that he was having one of his humor moments as reported by people who were there, and as he’s known to often do, they are so stupid. Seriously, if ANYONE thinks Brad can forget Angie’s name, I really pity them.

Men like to be indulged and Angie is indulging him, that doesnt make him a wimp. But then you are a fan of a person who was never sensitive to other people’s needs, so cant say much for you. SAD
