OlderBrad & Angelina: A ‘Mighty’ After Party
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie leave the Palais des Festival on Monday night after charming the crowd at the premiere of A Mighty Heart.
The duo drove off, hand-in-hand, to the famous “le Bacon” restaurant in Le Cap d’Antibes.
Brad and Angelina were joined for dinner by the A Mighty Heart cast and crew as well as pal Mariane Pearl, whom Jolie plays in the biopic, and her son Adam. The loved-up couple finished off the night in the Riviera resort at exclusive Hotel Du Cap, where their entire brood is staying.
UPDATE: Angelina is taking a year off from work! “I’m working this summer. I’m in Prague for a few months, then I take two months off, then I work for two months,” Jolie said to People on Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival. “And then I take a year off.” Asked if the time off will be for her family, she replied: “Yes.”

True, she’s a free spirit, but Brad’s doing wonders for her career (he got her the Marianne Pearl part, which everybody knew from Day One was a potential Oscar-winning role). Plus she’s signed up to do a slew of serious movies next year. Her career has taken off since Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

And let’s also not forget that Angie *did* say, before she even met Brad, that if she ever met a man who was strong enough to demand she be better, one that could “take her down” (ooh la la!), she would spend the rest of her life loving one person.
And it appears she has found that ONE person, and she found him when she was least expecting for her fantasy guy to walk into her life. Love always finds you when you aren’t looking for it. Angie’s still a “free spirit” but now she has someone in her life who supports her freedom. She said Brad “encourages the right things” and does not try to control her, which tells me she feels empowered by him to pursue every dream she ever had. That’s what every free spirit craves. Angie found it with Brad, so why would she ever leave his comfort and protection?
GOD! They are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO IN LOVE! that touching moment where angelina places her hand on the back of the head of Brad’s. WOW.
You guys are so gulible. In light of all the NEGATIVE press Brad and Angelina were getting they are doing damage control, and there getting the effect they are looking for. Look at Brads life it’s no way he doesn’t miss the sunny California days with Jennifer. He’s starting to look like Robert Redford (he’s handsome too but much older)
These PR firms put out information at the right time to steer their clients career. I even saw a rumor about them having a THREESOME with a Victoria Secret model. I quess the whole Mr. Mom image is getting to Brad a bit.

When you’re as chuffing gorgeous as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, you can’t keep your hands off one another.
So who can blame them for being so entwined?
It does make us feel a little bit uncomfortable - as if they’d rather be locked up in the bedroom than on press duties in Cannes.
But it’s the best insight we have into their relationship - and it’s still going v strong.
The sexual tension between the two looks as hot as ever - hence them pawing each other.
And when a brief moment occurs that they let go of one another, the couple look lost.

An Oscar-worthy role that was intended for Jennifer Aniston has been given to Angelina Jolie. It was announced Thursday that Jolie, 31, will play Mariane Pearl in a film adaptation of her book, A Mighty Heart: The Brave Life and Death of My Husband Danny Pearl. Mariane is the widow of Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl who was kidnapped and murdered while covering a story in Pakistan in 2002. Brad Pitt will produce the film, directed by Michael Winterbottom.
Pitt and Aniston, who co-owned the production company Plan B, bought the rights to the book when they were still married, with the idea that Jen would star in the film adaptation. Jen ceded her stake in the company after the couple divorced in 2005, leaving Pitt to cast his baby-mama in the starring role.
Mariane Pearl, who is believed to have visited Pitt and Jolie during their stay in Nambia, said in a statement: “I am delighted that Angelina Jolie will be playing my role in the adaptation of my book. I deeply admire her work and what she is committed to.”
A Mighty Heart is the first on-screen role Jolie has accepted since the birth of daughter Shiloh Nouvel, born in Namibia in May. Last week she agreed to lend her voice to a tiger in the animated film Kung Fu Panda, also starring Jack Black.

Angelina Jolie has decided to take a year off to spend time with her family, PEOPLE has learned.
“I’m working this summer. I’m in Prague for a few months, then I take two months off, then I work for two months,” Jolie said Tuesday while promoting A Mighty Heart at the Cannes Film Festival. “And then I take a year off.”

Angelina Jolie has decided to take a year off to spend time with her family, PEOPLE has learned.
“I’m working this summer. I’m in Prague for a few months, then I take two months off, then I work for two months,” Jolie said Tuesday while promoting A Mighty Heart at the Cannes Film Festival. “And then I take a year off.”
Asked if the time off will be for her family, she replied: “Yes.”
Jolie was speaking to reporters at the exclusive Hotel du Cap while partner Brad Pitt, who produced Heart, looked after their four children in a nearby villa. It was not clear whether Pitt would also take a hiatus in 2008.
The couple walked the Cannes red carpet Monday night for the world premiere of A Mighty Heart along with Mariane Pearl, on whose memoir the film is based, and her son Adam.
The Pitt-Jolie clan will remain at their villa on the French Riviera for several more days more as Pitt premieres Ocean’s Thirteen.
Jolie also told reporters on Tuesday about her recent pilot license upgrade the possibility of flying en famille. “Brad has his pilot’s license and I’ve just got my instrument rating, so we’re moving forward with that but we haven’t had a lot of time because of the kids and with Pax coming home,” she said.
“I wouldn’t fly the kids at this moment. I would only fly the kids if I had been actively flying for a few months and when I’m not at all rusty.”
Jolie, a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR, insisted she will continue her campaign for justice around the world, even though there have been concerns for her safety: “I don’t want to live inside a box. I will be smart, but I will lead a very bold life, and I will learn about the world.”
Asked by PEOPLE how she is enjoying her time in France with her family, Jolie smiled and replied: “It’s lovely. It’s been lovely.”

We’ve all seen the overwhelming cuteness of their four children. But today, attendees of the Cannes Film Festival were introduced to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newest baby—and it is a beauty.
The duo unveiled A Mighty Heart, starring 31-year-old Jolie as Mariane Pearl, the widow of Wall Street Journal writer Daniel Pearl, a victim of terrorism who was beheaded in Pakistan in 2002. Pitt is one of the film’s producers.
Tightly told, tastefully handled, and intensely moving, the drama-thriller is an early Oscar-contender. And Jolie, who won Best Supporting Actress in 2000 for Girl, Interrupted, will likely earn her first Best Actress nomination. The film opens on June 22, an unlikely time of year for such a movie (but possibly a smart strategy from Paramount Vantage, as adults may be feeling fatigue from summer popcorn movies by that time).
The room holding the film’s post-screening press conference was so crowded that even grisled longtime fest vets were turned away and forced to watch it on TVs outside. As the two super-celebs walked past the pack of photographers, a flashbulb frenzy erupted. Pitt, 43, stopped to talk to those around him. Jolie offered a quick wave.
“For me, so much of why this film was important to do is because I highly doubt there is anybody in this room who has more reason to hold hate inside herself than Mariane, and she doesn’t,” Jolie—who sat next to costar Dan Futterman (Daniel Pearl) and five people away from Pitt—told reporters. “That is, I think, a lesson for all of us.”

She is just repeating the same thing she said before, She will be taking time off to be with her family, however, she do have prior contracts to fullfil before she does so. The press did not state that part of her statement before because they wanted to start a frinzy once she started filming “Wanted”…that’s how the media works…dont we know that by now?

Have you guys watched the Inside Edition coverage of Brad and Angie at Cannes? I did not watch it yesterday but just saw it at Pittimpressions and they show Brad and Angie walking inside the theatre and there is a standing ovation and thunderous applause from the crowd inside the theatre. :)
