OlderBrad & Angelina: A ‘Mighty’ After Party
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie leave the Palais des Festival on Monday night after charming the crowd at the premiere of A Mighty Heart.
The duo drove off, hand-in-hand, to the famous “le Bacon” restaurant in Le Cap d’Antibes.
Brad and Angelina were joined for dinner by the A Mighty Heart cast and crew as well as pal Mariane Pearl, whom Jolie plays in the biopic, and her son Adam. The loved-up couple finished off the night in the Riviera resort at exclusive Hotel Du Cap, where their entire brood is staying.
UPDATE: Angelina is taking a year off from work! “I’m working this summer. I’m in Prague for a few months, then I take two months off, then I work for two months,” Jolie said to People on Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival. “And then I take a year off.” Asked if the time off will be for her family, she replied: “Yes.”

Angelina Jolie Taking a Year Off Work
Angelina Jolie has decided to take a year off to spend time with her family, PEOPLE has learned.
“I’m working this summer. I’m in Prague for a few months, then I take two months off, then I work for two months,” Jolie said Tuesday while promoting A Mighty Heart at the Cannes Film Festival. “And then I take a year off.”

Angelina Jolie has decided to take a year off to spend time with her family, PEOPLE has learned.
“I’m working this summer. I’m in Prague for a few months, then I take two months off, then I work for two months,” Jolie said Tuesday while promoting A Mighty Heart at the Cannes Film Festival. “And then I take a year off.”
Asked if the time off will be for her family, she replied: “Yes.”
Jolie was speaking to reporters at the exclusive Hotel du Cap while partner Brad Pitt, who produced Heart, looked after their four children in a nearby villa. It was not clear whether Pitt would also take a hiatus in 2008.
The couple walked the Cannes red carpet Monday night for the world premiere of A Mighty Heart along with Mariane Pearl, on whose memoir the film is based, and her son Adam.
The Pitt-Jolie clan will remain at their villa on the French Riviera for several more days more as Pitt premieres Ocean’s Thirteen.
Jolie also told reporters on Tuesday about her recent pilot license upgrade the possibility of flying en famille. “Brad has his pilot’s license and I’ve just got my instrument rating, so we’re moving forward with that but we haven’t had a lot of time because of the kids and with Pax coming home,” she said.
“I wouldn’t fly the kids at this moment. I would only fly the kids if I had been actively flying for a few months and when I’m not at all rusty.”
Jolie, a Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR, insisted she will continue her campaign for justice around the world, even though there have been concerns for her safety: “I don’t want to live inside a box. I will be smart, but I will lead a very bold life, and I will learn about the world.”
Asked by PEOPLE how she is enjoying her time in France with her family, Jolie smiled and replied: “It’s lovely. It’s been lovely.”

We’ve all seen the overwhelming cuteness of their four children. But today, attendees of the Cannes Film Festival were introduced to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s newest baby—and it is a beauty.
The duo unveiled A Mighty Heart, starring 31-year-old Jolie as Mariane Pearl, the widow of Wall Street Journal writer Daniel Pearl, a victim of terrorism who was beheaded in Pakistan in 2002. Pitt is one of the film’s producers.
Tightly told, tastefully handled, and intensely moving, the drama-thriller is an early Oscar-contender. And Jolie, who won Best Supporting Actress in 2000 for Girl, Interrupted, will likely earn her first Best Actress nomination. The film opens on June 22, an unlikely time of year for such a movie (but possibly a smart strategy from Paramount Vantage, as adults may be feeling fatigue from summer popcorn movies by that time).
The room holding the film’s post-screening press conference was so crowded that even grisled longtime fest vets were turned away and forced to watch it on TVs outside. As the two super-celebs walked past the pack of photographers, a flashbulb frenzy erupted. Pitt, 43, stopped to talk to those around him. Jolie offered a quick wave.
“For me, so much of why this film was important to do is because I highly doubt there is anybody in this room who has more reason to hold hate inside herself than Mariane, and she doesn’t,” Jolie—who sat next to costar Dan Futterman (Daniel Pearl) and five people away from Pitt—told reporters. “That is, I think, a lesson for all of us.”

The press did not state that part of her statement before because they wanted to start a frinzy once she started filming “Wanted”…that’s how the media works…dont we know that by now?

Have you guys watched the Inside Edition coverage of Brad and Angie at Cannes? I did not watch it yesterday but just saw it at Pittimpressions and they show Brad and Angie walking inside the theatre and there is a standing ovation and thunderous applause from the crowd inside the theatre.

It’s an impressively light press conference which I recommend you: sometimes repeating questions but however very good reactions and responses by the interviewed… amazing people with a high sense of responsibility and concern for making the world nice and friendly - good examples for the coming generation.
