It’s just a matter of time before they crown Jordin Sparks the season 6 winner of American Idol! Wednesday night, to be exact.
On the American Idol 6 finale, Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks battled it out over the song “This Is My Now.” The song was selected among the 25,000 submissions and almost 50,0000 votes as voted by Idol fans.
Blake’s rendition of it was pretty gawd awful. Jordin did a much better job but still far from perfect. It’s a hard song to sing! All of the judges agreed that Jordin was the clear winner of the night. Even Paula. Sorta. “Everyone’s a winner!!!”

woow, Blake really sucks! He can’t sing at all, he is ugly as hell (what’s wrong with his lips), and too top all that he has this cockines. I think it’s clear Jordin will win. She is not perfect, but at least she sings beautifully and she has such a pretty face

Way to be kinda harsh Jared, lol. Yeh Blake doesn’t have the best voice, but you can tell he wasn’t comfortable with the song and he tried his best. It’s clear that Jordin did better then him in that song though.
We all know that Jordin’s gonna win, so I see no reason for us having to bash on Blake. He’s had a good run on the show, and probably one of the most entertaining. Jordin will win, but I see that Both are gonna have great careers.

That is a song meant for Jordin and I guess that means that she will be the American Idol. Blake is not meant to sing those kind of songs that is why it is better that he doesnt win .. he can do his own thing and not be suck in what the record company wants … look at Chris tonite he rocked it (love him). Not a great fan of Jordin but glad Blake wont win so he can be himself, a performer.
You’d think they would pick a song that both the contestants could sing within their “style” without sounding completely subpar.
I’ve liked Blake for awhile but his almost attitude over the song (”he’s not saying anything!”) might have left too sour a taste in people’s mouths.

If Jordin had a single out on the radio - you wouldn’t be able to tell who the singer is. Her voice is GENERIC. you could mistake it for katherine mcphee’s song, another GENERIC performer. Jordin takes no risks, she just stands there. Jordin reminds me of Diana from season3 with Fantasia, as well. A forgettable person.
Blake has a unique voice and you could probably tell the distinctness on the radio. He’ll be remembered. He has so much potential to do great things in different areas of music - r&b, pop, reggae, electronica.

lots of people think blake can sing, and what is the problem. as much as AI would like to profes they are JUST a singing competition, we all know differently. and in today’s music scene, it’s not just about the voice. so, we can all get over it’s a singing competition angle. jordin was not the best singer this year, so that point went out the window when the best left.
it was so slanted last night, it was ridiculous. i didnt even care about the last song, because it was so ridiculous that they’d sing the same song. choose two songs, there is a concept. blake is who i’ve always wanted to see win, and that hasn’t changed.

the show..most of it could have been done without..the awards for loudest costume and the “bush baby” comment..could have done without those. of course, this is the season finale, with fox taking 3 places in the weekly and season top 10 shows, (AI 1 & 2, and House, M.D), they can do whatever they want. who would have believe 20 years ago that the Fox network would do soooo well. ABC with 2 shows, “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Desparate Housewives”, and CBS with the rest, they wish they had what Fox has!!

singing competition ? (what a joke)if it was then how do you justify Sparks over Doolittle, Jordin blowing both songs in one night and still making it through, Malakar passing up better voices than his ? it’s a popularity contest and that’s who won, anybody who really believes otherwise is just fooling themselves. this season put the final nail in the coffin for me,just give the thing to the one the show producers want in the first place and quit pulling this show along as the search for Americas’ best singer because it’s not. there were alot of better singers than Sparks but Lewis held the best for entertainer. I can recall a Lewis or Doolittle performance in my head, as well as some of the others but none for Sparks (except for the dumb kuntry song, chicken wing)I can see her doing great in that field of musick. . .

So do you think the judges really listened to ALL the songwriter submissions in such a short amount of time? Pardon me if I sound Simon-esque, but I was expecting a much more spectacular and powerful song for the finale. Where was the gospel choir? Where were the special effects? Where were the inspirational lyrics that lifted you to new heights? The song was way too subdued and “country” for a competition aiming to crown the next pop star…

i think that its nice that jordin won. yes, but blake’s a good performer. blake is unique. now based on the last song, jordin did better, of course. that song only suited jordin’s vocals. they should’ve picked 2 songs, like last year when kat and taylor had individual songs that suit their voices well.
