OlderAll Aboard, Ocean’s Thirteen!
Brad Pitt (in Tom Ford again) and the rest of his A-list costars — George Clooney, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Andy Garcia — leave the Eden Roc Hotel to have attend the Ocean’s 13 benefit cruise aimed at ending genocide in Darfur.
Says Reuters, “A Cannes debut represents a risk for a major Hollywood movie like Ocean’s because reviewers in the French Riviera resort tend to throw their support behind European, Asian and U.S. art house films, and foresake Hollywood studio fare like Ocean’s.”
Brad said, “There is a fair argument for deep and thought-provoking … types of films as well as pure, unadulterated entertainment.”
Damon added, “You still want the bigger movies to be good.”
Clooney quipped, “It’s really not about the film, as much as winning the [Palme d'Or] award.” (It’s handed out to the best film in Cannes but Ocean’s Thirteen doesn’t even qualify.)
Damon joked, “We think we’re going to win.”

It takes a while to load, but if you haven’t seen it, it’s really a great short clip of the red carpet.
The washington post jumps at the chance to interview Angelina on AMH. Readers Digest has the Angelina interview to promote AMH. WSJ will probably also have a big piece on this movie - Daniel Pearl was an WSJ journalist.
Clever, clever press management in every sense of the word.
The minivan crowd that read STAR and AS* weakly aren’t gonna be watching AMH. It would be too cerebral for them. People who are gonna be watching AMH would be Angelina’s fans, and the types of people who do read the Washington Post, Readers Digest (10m subscribers, reaching the most readers earning more than US$100K in America and over 40 million readers world wide) and Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine, Newsweek, and so on.
And note how each interview adds to the total picture of how Brad and Angelina want to present themselves. Washington Post, Readers Digest, People Magazine, WSJ etc - all HIGHLY REGARDED publications, which CHECK THEIR FACTS and don’t generally indulge in FABRICATION - wholesale or not. Which makes what Brad and Angelina say, legitimate - you know?? Not this taken out of context “quotes”, if you can call it that.
Brad and Angelina may of course, still rue the day that they didn’t talk to AS* weakly (as Ol Meanie has implied), but somehow, I doubt it. Not so long as they have legitimate press jumping at the chance to talk to them.
Unlike other celebrities who feel a need to deny, refute whatever, Brad and Angelina know that to do so is to give power and credence to the fabrications and lies. Despite some people saying that Brad should somehow speak out about this or that to defend Angelina, it is now clear from Angelina’s interview with Ann Curry, that even if Brad wanted to, I highly doubt Angelina would want him to.
But just a few interviews in the LEGITIMATE PRESS, supported by the candid videos of them on the red carpet, all the CR*P is negated - unless you just want to be negative, in which case, nothing willchange your mind anyway.
Brad and Angelina ARE ABOLUTELY FANTASTIC PRESS MANAGERS AND MANIPULATORS. Just how GOOD, I’m only now starting to fully appreciate. And I’m enjoying seeing these masters at work.
I finally got that Cannes website to work for me. They indeed look more gorgeous (is it possible?) on video than on stills. There was a clip of Michelle Yeo (one of my fav actresses) saying to the reporter she was at the AMH premiere because she admires AJ “as an actor, a human being, and a mother. Coming from a classy lady like Michelle, it’s no small compliment. I am so happy for B&A that their movie was well reviewed.

Also I don’t buy that she didn’t go to the fundraiser because she didn’t want to steal the spotlight. It was a small, private party mostly with people they know, who aren’t fazed by the Brangelina madness. Maybe she just didn’t go because she didn’t want to.

Laughable. Go read Lainey and what she wrote about the professional press corps and how they reacted to them. It was not full of people they know either. She might have wanted to go, but couldn’t. She might not have wanted to go. We don’t know. It’s not a big deal either way. I don’t get why people think she has to go. It was Brad’s thing. She didn’t go to the other O13 things earlier in the day. She is there to also work, it’s not an excuse.
You have great pictures, articles talking about how much they are in love and happy and people think we should have doubts if she doesn’t go to a fund raiser? I don’t know if she will go to the premier. I would imagine she would, but if she doesn’t it’s not the end of the world.

B&A are very media savvy! They clearly and strategically plan their appearances, they are smart people! People especially the haters always underestimate them.
The event was a charity fundraising for weintrub’s newly created charity org for Darfur, and it was marketed as having O13 cast to be part of it. Its expected that the cast members spouses will attend to support their husband. But Angelina is Angelina, teh rest of the spouses are nobody, and it becomes a big deal if Angie attends as it can take all the focus out of the charity event itself, and could end up as another brangelina thing. I believe they are trying to avoid it. I also believe that Angie as an UNHCr Ambassador, she is being careful in attending this sort of events. Not that she doenst believe in the causes nor wants to raise as much money for this cause, but as everyone knows she has been doing a lot already for Darfur cause, raising awareness by donating her time and money.

Strangely I don´t really have anything against his hair in these shots………maybe I really just hated that suit from last time?

No single man has a monopoly on that look….it’s the classic men’s wear…even more so than a black dress on women. Every well-dressed man in modern history has had that look. Even the sleeked back hair is not exclusive to George.
