Ocean’s 13 By the Sea
Here is yet another helping of the Ocean’s 13 cast in Cannes…
The star-studded cast of Ocean’s Thirteen take a break from promoting their third crime caper together — George Clooney, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle and Andy Garcia — and enjoy the Eden Roc hotel in Cap d’Antibes with their families. (See first set of photos here).
Cheadle, 42, was accompanied by his two daughters Ayana and Imani.

It seems it’s closed to the press and only 200 people. The inside pictures will be sold to a magazine. Though I’m sure we’ll get news soon.
I also don’t see why it matters if Angelina goes. Brad does not follow her to every charity event she does. She just went to NY and Washington and Brad wasn’t there. He’s done many events without her. She’s at the hotel for goodness sakes. From that E! report she was even waiting in the lobby to meet him. That is, if they were even telling the truth.

and only “Extra” has a sneak peak at the brand-new interview, which airs Wednesday on “Today” and “Dateline.”
“I have this man with me, who’s helping me through this, and loves me,” Angelina said about Brad.
She also said she was in awe of Mariane Pearl, the woman she portrays in the film.

i didn’t expect her not to go. i’ve been patiently waiting for pics–any pics–to show up. now what this does is make me EXTREMEMLY anxious for thursday to get here because i thought it was a sure thing she would go to his premiere and wear something KILLER. Why would you be extremely anxious? What in the world would make you feel that way? Did you not read that evidently IF this is true that only MATTD’S WIFE ATTENDED? THAT THE OTHERS WENT IN AN O13 GROUP??? Didn’t the blurb, again IF true, say that Angelina was in the lobby area with a group of friends and that Brad came back to the hotel with the O13 group where Angelina was? Didn’t Angelina say at her press conference that she wanted to visit with friends? Did Angelina not go to DC for GAC without Brad? Are you determined to give the trolls something to now endlessly talk about as if they don’t have enough nothingness to drone on about already? There is nothing here to indicate any problems, NOTHING WHAT SO EVER. STOP THIS INSANITY.

And those of you would as usual blame Brad for everything real or imagined, Angelina does have a mind of her own. These two are TRUE PARTNERS, just accept that. Sounds as IF this is true, that Angelina was dressed comfortable, was relaxing, enjoying herself in Cannes. We should all be so lucky.
Here is a great article regarding Angelina playing Mariane and the issue of race in Hollywood. The author lists several actors who played outside their race:
• Jessica Alba (of Mexican, Danish and French descent) played a black woman in Honey, a lame 2003 dance drama that also featured Mekhi Phifer, Lil’ Romeo and Missy Elliot.
Although little seen and little remarked upon, the movie is the ultimate example of “blind” casting. Alba’s parents are played by black actors, but since race isn’t mentioned, we aren’t sure whether we’re supposed to assume the light-skinned Lonette McKee, who plays the mother, is white.
Now if only Phifer’s character had been given a Korean name the movie could be hailed for really breaking new ground.
• Anthony Hopkins played a light-skinned black man who is passing for white in The Human Stain, also in 2003.
Debate over Hopkins playing the role focused not so much on his race as on his fame: Would audiences be able to forget the actor and accept his character as black? Hopkins, having played Othello in blackface in a 1981 British TV production, presumedly never gave the matter much thought.
• Susan Kohner (Mexican and Czech) was nominated for an Academy Award for her supporting role in Imitation of Life, in which she played a light-skinned black woman who passes for white and is ashamed of her dark-skinned mother (Juanita Moore, who also received a nomination).
Kohner retired from acting a few years after making the 1959 melodrama. She’s the mother of Chris and Paul Weitz (In Good Company, About a Boy, American Pie).
• Jeanne Crain was nominated for best actress for her role as a black woman who passes for white in Pinky.
After living as a white woman and falling in love with a white man up North, Pinky returns to the deep South where she grapples with identity issues.
Ethel Waters played her grandmother in this 1949 film, which was directed by Elia Kazan (On the Waterfront, A Streetcar Named Desire).
• Assorted Othellos: Apart from the disgrace of minstrelsy, there has been a long tradition of whites using makeup to darken their skin for stage roles, particularly in Shakespeare’s Othello.
Recent movie adaptations have used black actors (Laurence Fishburne in 1995, Phifer in 2001) but among legendary screen actors who wore blackface to play the Moorish king were Laurence Olivier (1965), Orson Welles (1952) and Emil Jannings (1922).
Olivier’s Othello, while much praised in some quarters, also drew criticism for the way he imitated mannerisms he’d seen in Caribbean blacks. “Olivier overworks it, for his portrayal appears geared primarily to the task of impersonating a Negro,” Time magazine wrote, calling his Othello a “modern stereotype” infused with “too much mammy singer.”

I am so happy that Angie is getting such great reviews for playing Marianne Pearl in AMH. I can’t wait to see AMH and I think I will need to take a box of tissues with me. I think this is going to be Angie best movie role ever.

It’s great that their work is being so well received. All the work they’ve done since they came together has been solid.
I’m looking forward to seeing all their movies. These two are clearly bringing out the best in each other.
And to think some said (hoped) their careers would tank due to public rejection. NOT!!!

How in the hell did Angelina adopt Pax alone as you say without Brad also desiring and supporting that adoption? Angellina adopted alone as permitted by Vietnamese law. They are in a committed relationship, they are a family, Brad went with Angelina to Vietnam to see Pax last November, brad was in total agreement re Pax’s adoption, and has begun the legal process to also adopt Pax. Angelina adopted Mad years before she even met Brad so of course he would have nothing to do with Mad’s initial adoption. It is now known that the reality is that Brad and Angelina made the decision to adopt Z together. What is also reality is that both Brad and Angelina dearly love their kids.
And I am entitled to my own opinion.

It’s always nice seeing the Oceans cast together. They’re all highly respected actors who just seem to relax and have fun without any competition issues.
I really repect what Matt Damon has done with the Bourne series. He made a good choice there.

The this with many people on this site is that when anyone say something negative, and by this I don’t mean derogative, about Angie, many of you jump and start insulting. And if you don’t believe me, sit back and read the threads.
Someone said something about Brads hair, I many of you almost had a panic attack. If you post something different to the way many of you feel, its like if you commited a crime. And I sit back and wonder why.
For example, I write something about Angie’s legs, which I find really skinny and not pretty, and everybody jumped at me and started to critize Jen and talking about her long chin. And to be honest, I couldn’t care less if her chin is long, short or twisted. It’s a matter of principle. You attack because someone doesn’t like Angelina and start insulting but in the same way, you do the same thing, you critize Jen and insult her.
So, do you honestly believe that you are different than the rest? That you have the right to insult anyone that doesn’t agree with you?
Well I’m sorry, but I just posted my opinion about baby Z’s leg, no harm in that. But many of you, I wonder why, thought that I didn’t had the right to ask. Maybe because deep inside, you were thinking just the same, and that would go in pair with your opinion about Angelina. You see, mine wasn’t the only post about baby Z’s leg. But I was the only one that responded back.
Again, it has nothing to do with the kids or Brad.
More, I posted a link of the movies Spy Game, which I loved and watched over and over again, and said something about this is what Brad is going to look in a couple of years. Man, everybody jumped at me. But everyone was posting how much those two resembles one another. I even posted that if no one had seen the movie, they should. But no, they only see the what they want to see.
So, what else do you want me to say.

To: 2kidz2 ~ Why don’t you hop on over to the Jen thread, OK? It is really slow right now, which isn’t a big surprise. I don’t go there much. Certainly would not post there. I did read though that the fans of Jen are just as tired of the tabloids as we are. They (or at least 3 of them) wish that the rags wouldn’t keep linking her to Brad and Angie. I would have thought that they would have wanted her name in any media they could get, since it ain’t gonna be her career that puts her on the map. So head on over there, or the Oprah Board that you have been reported to get your jones on.
You sound ugly and mean and jealous….Riding around in a gas guzzlin’ mini-van, smoking and stopping at Mickey D’s to feed the kids dinner…all the while dreamin of the day when Jen may find herself a real nice man to settle down with.

In the presence of Brad & Angie
As a reporter, being on the road, interviewing celebrities often every day, rarely do you encounter the true stars-the ones who walk around with a spotlight and actually live up to that expectation. Inevitably they are for the most part just people like us, only with extraordinary jobs.
Brad Pitt however is a rare beast. Brad Pitt is a mega mega star. And in person, he does not come up short. However, Brad Pitt in combination with Angelina Jolie???
Well now that’s just a regular, garden variety supernova.
I was huddled with what seemed like the entire press corps yesterday during the press conference for A Mighty Heart. And even a jaded press corps, not a crowd of hysterical fans, even a jaded press corps will get jacked up for Brad and Angelina.
I have to tell you — they walked out and the earth moved. What I mean is that the moment they were in view, the moment these two ridiculously beautiful creatures blessed us with their presence, every journalist surged. Some actually squealed. I think I let out a little peep too. But don’t tell.
Still, let’s not forget why they were there. The movie is called A Mighty Heart. Angelina plays Mariane Pearl, widow of slain journalist Daniel Pearl who was killed in Pakistan in 2002 when Mariane was 6 months pregnant.
This is a woman who has survived and who continues to survive unspeakable tragedy. And instead of railing at the world and begrudging humanity for its cruelty, she has instead chosen to live with dignity and share her experience in the hopes that no one will have to suffer how she suffered.
The film has been very well received and as such has elevated Brad Pitt and Angelina to even higher iconic status.
And finally, because I am first and foremost and always a gossip lover, they are still totally in love. Totally touchy feely, totally hot for each other. And I totally can’t get enough.

One of our local reporter from Taiwan was there,as he reiterated It was really a pandemonium and hysterical when Brad and Angie came out for the press conference and premier, photographers were pushing each other like shxt just to have the best shot, and shouting as hell for the attention of Brad and Angie. that guy was a celebrity journo from one of the biggest newspaper in our country, and while Brad and the other OC13 gangs were having there TV interview at the other site of the luxury hotel, Angie was also having her one to one interview with the international press, He said Angie was so down to earth, kind, friendly and not diva, he was all praised of Angie. So while the OC13 gangs were promoting their films, Angie was also busy promoting AMH, this could be the reason she was not in the Charity event with Brad. but I think she will be with him in the premier of OC 13 even she ’s tired just like suppporting Brad in GG even her mother was not doing well, OC 13 was a big budget movie, I’m sure the producers won’t mind Angie adding the hype.
Night night Jolie Pitt fans. Don’t let the trolls bite - our family is on a roll and no one can spoil it.
