Good news for Ocean’s Thirteen as positive reviews are rolling on in!

Variety reports, “As smooth as a good mojito, as stylish as an Armani suit and as meaningful in the grand scheme of things as yesterday’s Las Vegas betting odds, Ocean’s Thirteen continues the breezy good times of the first two series entries without missing a beat.”

The Hollywood Reporter reports, “Rolling the dice for a third time in “Ocean’s Thirteen,” Steven Soderbergh and his team beat the odds. Final chapters of trilogies invariably suffer from lameness. This, of course, already transpired in the “Ocean’s Twelve,” where subplots misfired and the script resorted to all sorts of slight-of-hand trickery. The new film, which screened Out of Competition at Cannes, returns to Las Vegas and does recapture much of the spirit of the original film.”

Yes, I think we all know now, just what kind of “behavior,” Brad is exhibiting. LOL! What I love in the video and in that one pic, right before he dives into those pillow lips, he’s got that yummy juttin’ jaw action happening. He did that a LOT in Mr. & Mrs Smith, the odd thing was - I never had seen him do that in a film before with a woman…I think that’s PURE Brad…and Angie just called it out of him on-screen and in real life. I hate how Ann Curry refers to the trashy lying tabloid weekly pieces of JOKE garbage as ‘papers,’ it makes me want to slap her. Ugh.

But you know what — I was in the drug store tonight, and I couldn’t resist picking up the US ‘Shiloh was No Accident’ issue - just to skim quickly and put back — basically as Jossip said, it was the Reader’s Digest article regurgitated, but there was a Maniston side bar or side page. Apparently, this blurb quotes that Andrea Bendewald, the close friend of Man’s who also commented in the horrid Vanity Fair article. What I found VERRRRY interesting, is that it seems like Aniston is trying to clear a few things up, as she seems to know how badly she’s screwed herself in the industry by f**king with Brad and his family. First one quote from a source close to Aniston says, “Jen truly believes Brad did not start a relationship with Angelina before they separated.” Then, the same page long article has Maniston’s friend Bendewald (and you KNOW she wouldn’t be talking to US without Maniston’s permission), quoted as saying, ‘Jen was hurt he had started a relationship so quickly after they had seperated.’ Well, yeah — the Brangelina fans know that’s the case, and has always been the case, because we know Brad and Angelina did not commit adultery, but the point is, her Vanity Fair article was meant to muddy the waters and imply that Angelina lured him away, and infer that it was possible he COULD HAVE cheated. Maniston wanted it BOTH ways, she wanted to revenge on Brad, and wanted the public sympathy for herself, and the public outrage on Brad and Angie and their kids. That is why we face this bullsh*t triangle sh*t STILL today, because of Maniston! Now it seems she is backtracking and wants it known, she firmly does not believe he cheated. Nice. She should have said that sh*t before. It’s a move in the right direction, but until she actually says it in her OWN interview, as well as apologizes for all the CRAP SHE caused (something I have a feeling she never does in life), she won’t be respected in the industry. Who would want to work with a person such as her - who tried to deliberately take Brad and Angie down?? ….besides Oprah that is, who wants to one-up Angelina on the savior front, so she uses the bitter pity-partying lame aSS ex by which to jab at them.

Oh, and I’ve been meaning to say to African Girl about her story of pretending not to know who Angelina was. That it really doesn’t surprise me. Most people have moved on from the triangle. Most people are fascinated by this couple and fascinated in a GOOD WAY. Their threads generate the most hits in blog after blog.

Most people don’t click on threads of celebrities they don’t like and don’t find interesting. Really, after a while, why bother??

Haters will come on because they find Angelina and Brad fascinating, may be even more fascinating then the fans themselves.

The tablies aren’t going to go away anytime soon because the fascination with Brad and Angelina is just too strong. “ICONIC” is the word Lainey uses. Larry Haggart calls it “MYTHIC”. The term most frequently bandied about in the Cannes festival to refer to Brad and Angelina is “Hollywood ROYALTY”.

why Royalty, why not the next Golden Couple??

Yes, I suppose there’s the Jen factor. How, after all, would Jen feel if Brad and Angelina were now the new Golden couple??

Good writers use words to describe in such a way as to fill in the spaces between words. They create a complete imagery with a few well chosen words. So, to me, it is no accident that some journalists at least, have solidified the trend to call Brad and Angelina Hollywood Royalty. Brad and Angelina ARE NOT the Golden couple - that’s too passive, too static, an imagery.

Royalty implies - princes and princesses, queens and kings. In the days when Myths were the primary means of making sense of the unknown and unknowable, kings and queens, princes and princesses had REAL POWER, they moved armies, changed lives.

They are called Hollywood’s Royalty because like princes and princesses, queens and kings of yore, they have POWER. They make things happen, make a movie or 3, make humanitarianism seem like a really cool thing to do, change lives, influence opinions. Golden couples don’t do that. So, its no coincidence perhaps that People Magazine called owen wilson and Kate hudson the new golden couple, both blond and so attractive. This is NOT an insult to Owen or Kate. But for the moment, that’s about all Owen and Kate are. But there’s plenty of time for them to grow:-)

But also, anyone can be golden for a time, it’s transitory at best - you can get famous, get a tan, get lots of money, dye your hair blonde, and there you have it. LOL But royalty is a whole ‘nother ball game. Not just anyone, can be ‘Royal.’ It speaks to the whole idea of preordained things and legacies - it boots out all commoners (by the way ‘royalty’ is usually not a concept I believe in at all - but for ‘Brangelina’ I like it! lol), and implies a destined path. People can become golden, only certain people are Royal. You either are or you are not. It speaks to traits that lie within, you don’t have to be in a line of other Hollywood Royals (Angelina, daughter of an Oscar winner) - you can posess the trait that gets you there, like some old roundtable fable, a knight that sets out on a quest to find Merlin’s magical sword can BECOME Royal(you can be a boy from Missouri, Brad Pitt, or Indiana, James Dean, or Nebraska, Marlon Brando — because that is your destiny, you have IT)…for someone like Angelina, she was born to it, a lot of articles say, but she still has to posess that special thing - that ‘Movie’ IT factor, that makes her Hollywood Royalty…Most importantly, the concept of ‘Hollywood Royalty’ very distinctly means MOVIE STAR and FILMS — tv sit-com hacks need not apply.

After the Cannes event, Brad and Angie were obviously ridiculously in love. whether caught in the pic, video or from eyewitnesses. I just can’t wait how will all there tabs. backtrack on it. esp. The Star and L&S, these two tabs never stop those separating, fighting, going back to X lies for 2 consecutive years. the funniest thing was the faniston fans really believed them.

Steffy - I think kissing in public is nothing new to them during the course of their relationship. It’s just that the paps rarely catch them in the act, except for the time in Paris back in ‘06, the Golden Globes, the recent dinner in Prague and now in Cannes. I mean we’ve read blurbs about them kissing in public places like the Scott Caan photo show and the Bansky art exhibit. Remember the first hand account of that guy who rudely interrupted them during a passionate kiss to introduce himself at the Bansky show? I have a feeling they’ll be back to their old ways and keep the PDA to a minimum and away from the paps lens.

who cares what happend on the rc? someone at souliejolie who lives in france and was watching the whole thing live on tv said that after the screening was over, she give him a hug and a kiss.

A few Hollywood extravaganzas blow into Cannes every year, and among all the serioso European and Asian fare that dominates the Competition they’re like a clown visiting a children’s ward: colorful, noisy, oversize and full of professional pep, compared to the wan, torporous little things languishing immobile in their beds. So today, when Ocean’s Thirteen was the main attraction, many critics anticipated it with pleasure— if only as playtime after a week’s homework studying and reporting on the worthiest art films. Ocean’s Thirteen: Dead in the Water

We knew that, sometimes, nothing looks so good on the giant Festival Palais screen as a bad Hollywood movie. In 1992 the Opening Night entry was Basic Instinct, that chicly sleazy sex-and-violence thriller starring Michael Douglas, Sharon Stone and the space between Sharon Stone’s legs. U.S. critics had seen the movie months before, and dumped their contempt on it. Yet in the Lumiere Theatre at Cannes, on that 60-ft.-wide canvas, it had the kind of luminosity, confidence and throbbing pulse that no Franco-Polish minimalist masterpiece could match. This, we were reminded, is why audiences in almost every foreign country prefer Hollywood movies to their own: because ours are bigger, slicker — movie-er.

And how Stone’s glamour spilled off the screen — her old-fashioned beauty, of course, but also the devouring eyes and grown-up voice, and her evident pleasure in being watched. It was that evening in the Palais (and remember, I’d seen Basic Instinct at a critics’ showing in New York) that I became convinced of what I still believe: that Stone is one of the few people in the post-Golden Age era who deserves that venerable epithet “movie star.”

Another, unquestionably, would be George Clooney. He has all the old qualities: classically handsome but not intimidatingly so, looking perfect and comfortable in a tuxedo, and so at ease with his natural appeal — his Georgeness — that he needn’t rev up or Method up a performance to screaming volume. After all, he came out of TV, where the goal is to be ingratiating, not from the stage or indie films, where the goal is threefold: sulk, simmer and explode. Clooney glides and purrs through his movies (and his public appearances) with a grace both manly and feline. He’s a man’s man and a woman’s; and I know a few frustrated Democrats who say that, if he’d run for President, he’d be their man.

In Ocean’s Thirteen (third in the series, after Eleven and Twelve), Clooney is again Danny Ocean, the gentleman heistmeister, and once more is surrounded by some pricey film flesh: Brad Pitt, also very easy on the eyes, and Matt Damon, and lots of the old gang in smaller roles: Bernie Mac, Andy Garcia, Carl Reiner, Don Cheadle, Elliott Gould, Casey Affleck. Julia Roberts took this film off, but Al Pacino and Ellen Barkin — last seen together 18 years ago, performing urgent stand-up sex in Sea of Love— are on board for star wattage and the nostalgia factor. Sounds eminently sit-throughable and, on the big Palais screen, watchable.

The plot— not it matters to you, or did to anyone connected with the movie — has Gould, as a venerable Vegas mogul, driven to a coronary seizure because he’s been snookered out of a hotel he co-owned with the rapacious Pacino. (It used to be Gould’s gold; now it’s a Pacino casino.) Clooney & Co. agree to avenge their old pal by taking Pacino down: rigging the games so he loses millions on opening night, stealing a cache of precious diamonds from the usual impenetrable display and subverting his fond expectation of winning for his hotel the highest five diamonds rating from some imaginary Michelin guide. In previous films this Mission: Implausible team took stuff because it was, hey, fun. This time it’s personal.

But for director Steven Soderbergh, and his actors and his crew, this time it’s mechanical. They must think that the only way get from Eleven to Twelve to Thirteen is to make movies by the numbers. Let’s hope that, in naming future sequels, they don’t start counting backward; the whole audience will be in a trance or asleep by Nine. The new film is so listless and logy it needed Michael Moore to take it to Cuba for emergency medical treatment.

In a summer-movie preview that ran last week on TIME.com, I speculated about Ocean’s Thirteen: “If Take 3 is a reasonable facsimile of its predecessors, it will be like one of those elite parties you’re dying to attend because of the killer guest list; then you get in and find that, for all the star glamour in evidence, the ambiance is somehow… lacking.” Turns out my hopes were too high. It’s as if the whole enterprise were running on battery power that was about to give out. The five big stars can’t shake the movie’s infectious lethargy, and some of the others, like Mac and Cheadle, have so little to do that it’s a wonder they showed up (though Gould and Reiner are OK, and Eddie Izzard squeezes some life into his cameo as an amiable criminal super-brain).

The dialogue, by scripters Brian Koppelman and David Levien, aims for smart and hits smarmy; and the actors’ delivery of their lines, meant to show a relaxed wit, is perfunctory verging on read-through. With one exception. Gould, evoking the old-time Vegas when he learns how rotten Pacino is: “You and I both shook Sinatra’s hand, and there’s a code among the guys who shook Sinatra’s hand.” Pacino: “Screw Sinatra’s hand.”

Frank Sinatra was the star behind the original 1960 Ocean’s Eleven (original in that it came first) and three ensuing, numerical Rat Pack capers: Sergeants 3, 4 Guns for Texas, Robin and the 7 Hoods. Frank and his pals — Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop — weren’t trying to commit art, or even make vital entertainment. Really, they had expectations no higher than the Soderbergh-Clooney mob. Both groups were underachievers and proud of it.

The Rat Pack’s idea, such as it was, was to do a movie in a friendly town (Vegas, Chicago) or familiar genre (caper, Western, gangster movie) and apply to it a bit of the ad-lib roguery they brought to their nightclub gigs. The slapdash nature of the script, performances and production was meant to reflect the informal, what-the-hell, let’s-pretend-we’re-having-a-ball impulse that led to their making. These were movies that loosened the tuxedo tie and the tongue to provide an intoxicated if not intoxicating diversion. They were loosy-goosy for the time, and instantly irrelevant. Marijuana would soon replace alcohol as the younger generation’s drug of choice; nobody wore a tie, let alone a tux, after his senior prom.

If the revival or exhumation of the Rat Pack series has reason to exist (big if), it’s to prove that Hollywood still knows how to parade the old careless glamour. That’s the only reason an audience has to see the Ocean movies. So the biggest surprise and disappointment about the new one is not that it’s kind of a corpse, but that the stars aren’t made to look beautiful, sexy, starrish.

Why is the lighting technician for the Golden Globes, where Clooney is always Mr. Fabulous, more knowing about how to photograph him than Soderbergh (who shot the film under the pseudonym Peter Andrews)? How come Damon is more handsome and engaging in person than in this movie? When Pitt is first spotted, he looks as though he fell asleep for a year under a sun lamp. Pacino it takes a few seconds to recognize; he too looks weird, and so does Barkin. Her face has the recognizable intelligence and insolence, but the rest of her seems somehow bronzed and sanded — an unfortunate impression for a comeback performance.

These people know how to make the camera love them; they’ve been doing it for years, in some cases decades. So I have to think what I saw today was a prank of the emulsion, or the director. The big Palais screen, as longtime festivalgoers can vouch, is supposed to lend an extra radiance to Hollywood stars. Soderbergh makes them look like Nick Nolte in that mug shot.

The haters are in DENIAL, they would’nt accept the FACT that BA are madly in love and very much together with their loving family. I just realize that they come to this site not because they are addicted to Brangelina but to find if there is any sign of their break up,because this site is the most informative regarding BA. After the limo smooching, I urge the haters to give up, there is no hope anymore,BRAD WILL NOT GO BACK WITH __, and don’t waste your time here.

The only people responsible for the success or failure of a marriage are the two people who are married to each other, NOT ANY OUTSIDE FORCE. Why are you so bitter at Brad that he did not waste any more of his life deferring his dreams of a family? His ex never deferred her dreams of stardom, making back to back movies when not in her tv sitcom. His wish for children was ignored by the ex, while he supported her star dream. Did she adopt if she did not want to have one? NO she did not.

Reports indicate the American Movie Stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie caused the surge as they attempted to recreate deleted scenes from their movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith. sources say the Hotel they are staying with leaned from side to side a couple of times.
Mr. Pitt, a heat seeking love machine, was found sitting in the lobby smoking with a smile on his face. When asked where Ms. Jolie is, he calmly replied, “she is asleep”

It is pointless to argue with these moralistic imperialistic types…they are blockheads and give new meanings to the word stubbornness. They have a clear unjust high-minded point of view about Ang and Brad. You see these types are perfect human beings. They do not make mistakes in their lives. Their relationships are perfect. We the fans are the imperfect ones (the impure and polluted). Brad and Angie are not perfect to them. They are immoral people flaunting their loves like that in their faces (and X). They ruined “X’s” perfect relationship/marriage to Brad.

Now I ask you, if it was so perfect and so strong then how come a mere woman can come along managed to ruin their perfect relationship? You would think such a strong foundation/relationship would not have falter. It would have withstood the test, if it was such a perfect relationship. You would think so, right? Damn Ang, I didn’t know you were that powerful. What is your juju girl, I want some of that?

About Angie’s weight………………please dont feel insulted, my american (and british) BAMPZS fans, but i do believe that the supersizing of you guys over the past few decades have distorted your view of what is ‘normal’ weight.

Its bloody annoying to keep reading post after post obssessing about Angie needing to “gain 10-15 lbs.” Its bad enough when its a post from a hater, cos such an embecile’s agenda is clear. But a ‘weight’ post from a fan suggests that said fan is viewing the weight issue through distorted lenses.

Let me emphasize: it is not ‘normal’ to be fat. It is normal to be lean.

Being lean is the natural, human condition. Humans become fatter and fatter, the more fatty, sugary (read: processed) foods they eat and the more sedentary their lifestyle, such as sitting for days on end in front of a computer.

Angie appears to be one of those lucky human beings (tell me something i dont know) who is naturally lean. In the past, she has gained weight because of the requirements of a movie role and i am sure she has also lost weight because of the requirements of a movie role - just like any other good actor.

To point out how contradictory all this weight talk is about Angie, consider this: i remember reading posts within the course of a week, in which she is said to be too skinny and then a few days later there are new pictures, and then comes the posts saying she has ‘gained a few pounds.’ Nobody gains or loses 10-15 lbs over the course of a few days.

If there’s one thing we can all agree on, is that Angie is healthy. Otherwise, her hair wouldnt look so luxurious; her skin wouldnt look so flawless; her eyes wouldnt look so clear; and she couldnt take on the action role she’s doing right now, while also flying all over the globe and be a hands-on mom (all of which she is doing admirably) without falling into “exhaustion” like we’ve seen with some of the unhealthy, hard-partying ’starlets’ in hollywood.

I know, can you imagine them being able to poke fun at “little miss insecurity” that way? Jeez, she would have been curled up in a fetal position for a week.
