Brad and Angelina Share A Smooch
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were engaged in some serious lip-locking in their car as they left the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in France.
Earlier this week, Pitt and Jolie left the Cannes Film Festival a bit disappointed by the fact that Ocean’s 13 did not receive as hearty of an acclaim by viewers as they had hoped.
A source at the event says that Ocean’s 13 is the last and final film in the Ocean’s movie lineage.

Awwwww….that is such a cute pic of Angie & Pax. What great parents. Does anybody know if the BAMPZS family left Cannes and went back to Prague? Or do you think they’ll celebrate Shi’s b-day in Cannes?

Brad is expected in Montreal today or tomorrow for 4 days of BB filmining.
The european reviews of oceans were not good. That’s where jared is getting that info from.
Thanks for the link to etalk. It’s so funny to see how the TV shows are covering the story. etalk said Brad may be in Montreal as early as this weekend. So, Shi may celebrate her b-day in Canada.
I wonder if Angie will be with Brad during his BB filming in Montreal. Or does she have to report back to Prague for Wanted? I can’t imagine them being separated during Shi’s b-day.

Its not Jared, Doobybrain must have gotten it from the Star report or daily mail uk. As usual, there are trying to put a spin to their story, that Angie has left CAnnes disappointed becasue o13 was not well received after the premiere showing, as the applause was mild or something.
Pls Doobybrain, I hope you can correst your write-up above and not make it categorical or a matter of fact, as the report is coming from tabloids. Thanks!

But this is ultimately — and very intimately — Mariane Pearl’s story, and much of it rests on Jolie, who fits comfortably into the naturalistic mold that shapes the entire ensemble. Though Jolie sports a big belly, a high-coiffed hairstyle and a very challenging accent (raised in France, Mariane is of Afro-Cuban and Dutch descent), this isn’t the sort of commanding star turn in which the performer vanishes behind a well-known celebrity mask, but rather a subdued, carefully considered portrait of a woman caught between premature grief and persistent hope.
Jolie plays Mariane as sharp and prickly, but also highly principled and completely devoted to her husband. Wisely, Winterbottom opts to shoot her more high-pitched outbursts from a distance or in near-darkness, as if refusing to milk more histrionics than necessary.

For the most part, however, the film reflects the dispassionate view espoused by Mariane Pearl, who sees that it is misery that breeds terrorism. Jolie plays her with respect and a firm grasp on a difficult accent influenced by France and Cuba. She has a powerful scene in which she lets out a shriek of grief that will be recognized wherever people suffer from terror and loss.

Excerpt from Cinematical’s review
Jolie’s portrayal of Pearl — who was six months pregnant when her husband was abducted — has been the subject of some controversy due to some mild cosmetic elements — her hair is curlier, her skin slightly darkened to convey the real Mariane Pearl’s Cuban-French heritage — but there’s nothing insensitive or overdone in the mild make-up artistry of the part; the inner performance is what shines out. Jolie’s Pearl may feel fear, but never hate — and her public face of grace and calm is one part humanism, one part strategy. She’s deliberately trying not to provoke the men who hold her husband captive — and she also truly believes that peace and justice are the ultimate weapons against those who would kill and maim in the name of God. Asked about Karachi’s role as a cultivator of terrorism, Marianne’s reply is fast, smart and sincere: “Wherever there is misery, they find people.”
But Jolie’s Mariane Pearl isn’t some plaster secular saint, either; when the inevitable end to the story comes crashing down, her howling, devastated grief ripples off the screen with brute force and power. (And frankly, the make-up artistry in the film re-contextualizes Jolie’s well-publicized features in a way that lets her simply act to a degree she hasn’t been able to in years.) John Orloff’s scrrenplay adaptation of Mariane Pearl’s book is strong, but it’s Winterbottom style and choices — location shooting, a fluid sense of time, a run-and-gun approach to scenes — that make A Mighty Heart stand out as more than just a tragedy.

Excerpt from TIMES(UK)’s review
Angelina Jolie plays Pearl’s pregnant wife, Mariane – on whose memoir the film is based – with a rigour and passion that surprised even the most jaded sceptics in Cannes.
Great video, you clearly see that angelina was about to kiss him and he turned his face (all in front of a billion camaras)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cL-ER6y6YQM&mode=related&search= and she’s not happy, her face is priceless. She’s like ok whatever.
Produced by Plan B (Brad Pitt is credited as a producer) and Revolution Films, “Mighty Heart” is anchored by a strong performance from Angelina Jolie, who, despite star status, completely blends into a cast of mostly unknown or no-name actors of various nationalities.
Here’s a particular collaboration that’s mutually beneficially: Jolie should elevate the profile of Winterbottom’s work through her celeb status, and the Brit director is able to

coax a more credible and powerful performance from Jolie than she has given in a long time.
Indeed, “Mighty Heart” is a triumph for Jolie, who here looks deglamorized, sporting a convincing French accent, and behaving like an ordinary wife. This is no minor feat, considering the poor parts Jolie has been playing of late, including the embarrassing political saga, “Beyond Borders.” Rendering her best work since her Oscar-winning turn in “Girl, Interrupted,” Jolie impresses with her understated, non-actorish approach. Though it’s too early to predict, with strong critical support and some luck, Jolie might be rewarded later this year with an Oscar nomination, this time in the lead category.

Great post, and so true. I’m sort of curiuos  to see if she can backpedal enough to get a job in movies again. Just my opinion, but, her time has been and gone. She doesn’t have half the talent someone like David Caruso has, and he couldn’t make the jump either. There’s too many young ones for her to still play the ingenue, and, really, what else can she offer?

Great post Lylian. I love reading your posts, you analyse situations so well. I agree, they are totally beyond “golden”; for the moment, royalty will have to do I guess - God-like is likely to get the fringes in an uproar, and really, no one wants that conferred on themselves - too much to live up to. As a fan, it has been so wonderful to see both of them just blossom with each other; becoming who they were both meant to be. Also, if the Gods are willing, they will influence others to be more like them and less like Lohan/Hilton etc. I know I’d rather my child be influenced by the Jolie Pitts.
Thank you everyone for the continued links. What a week it’s been huh?

umm ok whatever.
Why are you bringing this here?
why would you want them to go at it on the rc? They aren’t Tom and Katie.

This is the 1st time I see Brad put his hand on the shoulder of Angie, not on her butt. You will see it at the end of the video.
Curry: Yeah, but can I say, they’re saying in the paper that you’re breaking up with Brad. They’re saying in the paper that, you know, you’re not spending enough time with your kids. I mean, there’s all this stuff in the paper that if it was about me, I mean, maybe I don’t have as thick a skin as you do. But I would be upset. I’d be angry. I’d be furious.
Jolie: I’m not.
Curry: (LAUGHTER) Why aren’t you?
Jolie: Because my kids are happy and healthy and we have a very solid family. And I am fortunate enough to have a job and go to work and we get to travel and—and do a lot of great things in the world and meet amazing people. And I have a very, very—I’m just very fortunate in my life.
At the end of the day I’m gonna be dead one day, and what people say about me is going what I accomplished and what I did in my life and how my children are. And I don’t think it’s gonna be what was printed in the tabloids this year.
Curry: But you know what? I think of you as being someone who cares about her reputation. I know I care about my reputation. I want people to think well of me.
Jolie: Well, I do a bit. But I know that people who I interact with across the world and are the people I interact with when I do the different work I do in the field. I know the people who I take seriously and I work with in my life. And—and those people I’m able to work with and they know the truth, and they don’t seem to be confused. And we move on and I get my things done.
I’ve never lived my life in the opinion of others. I believe I’m a good person. I believe I’m a good mom. But that’s for my kids to decide, not for the world.

Let’s not distracted by naysayers.
They are losers and not worth of responding.
who cares what happend on the rc? someone at souliejolie who lives in france and was watching the whole thing live on tv said that after the screening was over, she give him a hug and a kiss.

I’m really glad they didn’t kiss on the red carpet, too. A kiss inside the theater or in the limo later on is much better. And besides, I find the hand holding they do and the touches on the rear much sexier anyway.
They were probably fondling each other in the theatre during the movie…those little freaks..lol
They are not TomKat. that’s why we love them. They have already lost in their eyes which is even sexier and hotter.
