Happy birthday to Shiloh. Wow! how fast time passes by. Brad is lucky because he met a wonderful woman. I know that some people think that Angie shows kindness for publicity but already at a young age she was caring. There was this African American teacher from her school who was going to be fired unfairly. Angie and her friends demonstrated against it and they even raised money so that he could have a salary when the board was still trying to find out a solution. She was hurt deep down by her dad but despite it all she was always there for other people. Everyone close to her is lucky. Her children have one of the best mothers in the whole world. Lucky them.

Some of the world referred to her as the “golden child.” Two of the world’s most beautiful people had produced and the result; an absolutely gorgeous baby girl. The world welcomed the much anticipated child of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt on May 27th, 2006. Shiloh was CBB’s number one baby of 2006!

Name: Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt

Birthday: May 27th, 2006

Famous for: Being the first biological child of Brad Pitt and girlfriend, Angelina Jolie.

Name meaning:

The first name, which is traditionally masculine, is pronounced SHY-low, and is of Hebrew origin. There seem to be many meanings for the name, ranging from “his gift” and “he who is to be sent,” to “peaceful.” Shiloh is also the site of a crucial battle in the American Civil War. The middle name is believed to be inspired by famous architect Jean Nouvel - a favorite of Brad’s.

Much scrutiny seems to have constantly surrounded Angelina and her love of adoption, leading people to question her affection for Shiloh. However, this month the news of Shiloh being planned came directly from her mother’s mouth.

Before I met Brad, I always said I was happy never to have a child biologically. He told me he hadn’t given up on that thought. Then, a few months after Z came home, I saw Brad with her and Mad, and I realized how much he loved them, and a biological child would not in any way be a threat. So I said, ‘I want to try.’

After having Shiloh, and hence a baby that looked like her parents, Angelina decided that perhaps it was important for Mad to have a brother who was originally from the same place as him.

Something changed for me with Shiloh. We had Mad and Z, and neither looked like Mommy or Daddy. Then suddenly somebody in the house looks like Mommy and Daddy. It became clear to us that it might be important to have somebody around who is similar to the other children so they have a connection. Mad’s been very excited that his brother is from Asia.

In a much scrutinized interview with UK Elle, Angelina talked about adoption versus biological. And remember the “blob” comment?!

I think I feel so much more for Madd and Zee because they’re survivors, they came through so much. In some way they’re strangers because they had this life before me. Shiloh seemed so privileged from the moment she was born, I have less inclination to feel for her. I have the do the opposite from what I expected! I met my other kids when they were six months; they came with a personality. A newborn really is this…blob [the interviewer suggests]…! But now she’s starting to have a personality. The three of them are very funny together, very loud and in each other’s faces. She’s grown up with Zee screaming in her face in the morning! But, yes I’m conscious that I have to make sure I don’t ignore her needs, just because I think the others are more vulnerable.

Shiloh was born in Namibia, meaning that she has a dual passport with the US, a connection to another country and her sister’s birth place.

I was so happy to have Shiloh in Africa, that we could do that and for her to have a Namibian passport. She has that connection to another country and to her sister’s part of the world. I think that ties them together a little.

wow what an interesting gal, she wakes up in the moring and even before taking a bath the first thing she does is run to her laptop and go to the thread of the person she most hates in the world and starting posting the same articles for 5 days in a row. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have welcomed a baby girl, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt, a rep for the couple confirmed Saturday in a statement to PEOPLE.

“Angie and baby are fantastic,” a source close to the couple told PEOPLE on Sunday. “Brad was at her side during the birth.”

The child was born Saturday, May 27, at night, in the African country of Namibia.

Shiloh – which in one longstanding translation from the Bible has come to mean “the peaceful one” – was born in The Cottage Hospital in Swakopmund.

Jolie is expected to remain in the hospital for a couple days before returning to the couple’s sea-side Namibian retreat.

Meanwhile, Namibia’s Environment and Tourism Deputy Minister, Leon Jooste, explained: “Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt will, according to Namibian law, be allowed to obtain Namibian citizenship, if the parents should choose to do so.” He added that discussion of the child’s passport will be taken up with her parents “at a later stage.”

The new girl is the couple’s first biological child. Jolie adopted Maddox from Cambodia in 2002 and Zahara from Ethiopia last year. Pitt is in the process of legally adopting both children.

The baby is the latest step in a life-changing year during which Pitt and Jolie went from costars (in last summer’s slick crime thriller Mr. and Mrs. Smith) to supercouple to, finally, Mommy and Daddy.

It’s the idea that you love one another and you want to create a family together,” a friend of the couple’s told PEOPLE earlier this year. “What’s beautiful is you can do it by birth (or) by adoption.”

Jolie, 30, had long spoken about expanding her family, and told PEOPLE last October that she would like to adopt again. “There’s something about making a choice, waking up and traveling somewhere and finding your family,” she said.

Pitt, 42, has also often talked about wanting a family. He has no children from his 4-year marriage to Jennifer Aniston, which ended last year.

“I think he’ll be wonderful (with the new baby),” Pitt’s Assassination of Jesse James costar, Mary-Louise Parker, told PEOPLE earlier this year. “He’s a great guy, conscientious and kind. I’m happy for both of them.”

CANNES, France (Reuters) - It is her children that keep Angelina Jolie’s feet firmly on the ground while the paparazzi follow her every move, and motherhood helped the star prepare for her role as the pregnant wife of slain reporter Daniel Pearl.

The 31-year-old actress, who with her off-screen companion Brad Pitt has formed the celebrity super-couple dubbed “Brangelina,” plays Mariane Pearl, wife of the Wall Street Journal journalist who was kidnapped and beheaded by Islamic militants in Pakistan in 2002.

Mariane Pearl, who wrote a book about her experiences, was about six months pregnant at the time, and Jolie filmed “A Mighty Heart” not long after she gave birth to her daughter Shiloh.

Jolie and Pitt, 43, also have three adopted children, from Cambodia, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

“My children help me keep perspective,” Jolie told Reuters in an interview on Wednesday just outside Cannes, where the movie had its world premiere.

“The world forms opinions and has a view and does tabloid things and fortunately none of that is inside my home,” she said at the exclusive Du Cap hotel. “I (am) focused on getting the kids to school, I’m focused on the balance of all the children.”

Critics have praised Jolie for her portrayal of a woman who desperately seeks her husband through phone and e-mail trails and in the teeming city of Karachi, a hotbed of militancy just after the 9/11 attacks.

MEMORIES OF NAMIBIA

Jolie was in Namibia when discussing the script with Mariane Pearl and British director Michael Winterbottom as she prepared to give birth to Shiloh.

“We were all in Namibia and I was six months pregnant, and I remember seeing Mariane and talking to her about being pregnant.

“At the same time I would go home, sit and lay next to Brad, and he would put his hand on my stomach and we would talk about the hospital and the baby and were so excited together.

“To know that’s what they took away from her at that time infuriated me, it made me so, so upset.”

She added that Pearl had no time for letting her “emotions run wild,” but added: “But thank God she was pregnant, because she has Danny in (their son) Adam … he is Adam.”

Jolie said “A Mighty Heart,” which Pitt co-produced, did not signal a shift away from comic or action roles for which she is best known, even though she won an Oscar for “Girl, Interrupted” set in a mental institution.

“I think people think that now I’m just trying to be serious and do very serious films.

“But the reality is I’m playing an assassin now in a movie and my little boys think it’s really cool and I’m going to do a cartoon next where I’m a tiger and … that’s why I get kudos in my house.”

The star of box-office hits like “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” in which she played alongside Pitt, Jolie said she had been gripped by Pearl’s tragedy when it played out before the media.

The film still had relevance today, however, for its message of tolerance.

“This woman, who has the greatest reason to be just blinded by hate, is speaking up very strongly and saying we have got to have a dialogue, we have got to continue to find ways to relate to each other and not just focus on differences.”

Jolie said she would continue to take time off in between filming to be with her family, and that she and Pitt took turns acting in movies.
