Angelina Jolie not only has to master three different martial arts for her new role as an assassin, but also has to learn how to spin around on sneakers with wheels.

London, Apr 4 (ANI): Angelina Jolie not only has to master three different martial arts for her new role as an assassin, but also has to learn how to spin around on sneakers with wheels.

The shoes, called Heelys, are a brand of sneakers, under the company Heelys, Inc. that have one or more wheels embedded in each sole, similarly to inline skates. Thus, the wearer can walk, run, or - by shifting their weight to their heels - roll.
A source revealed that Jolie will be sporting a pair made especially for her in the big-budget sci-fi thriller Wanted, in which she plays a hitwoman.
“Ange is really under pressure preparing for this film. She is learning three different martial arts for the action sequences and will have to take on a serious fitness regime to build up her muscles. She is also facing the prospect of learning how to spin around on Heelys,” The Sun quoted the source, as saying.
Jolie, who beat ‘Bootylicious’ Beyonce to the role, will be playing the lead opposite Scots star James McAvoy and veteran Hollywood hero Morgan Freeman in the action flick.
Filming for the flick starts in Prague in June this year. (ANI)

Moscow in winter, period Paris - our city shows its versatility for Brad Pitt shoot

It seems a little odd that director David Fincher would choose to come to Montreal in late May to shoot scenes of Moscow in winter. But that’s just another quirk of the movie biz, said Bill Doyle, supervising location manager for the big-budget Brad Pitt flick The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Fincher is having Montreal stand in for both Moscow and Paris.

On the phone from the Benjamin Button set in Old Montreal late last week, Doyle said the shoot is happening here now because the filmmakers weren’t able to interrupt filming in New Orleans this winter, when Montreal was actually covered in snow. They will be manufacturing fake snow for the wintery Russian scenes.

The New Orleans leg of the ambitious production lasted from early November to early March, followed by two months of studio work in Los Angeles. The original F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, which was adapted by Oscar-winning Forrest Gump scribe Eric Roth, is set in Baltimore, but the producers switched the setting to New Orleans because they felt it would be easier - and cheaper - to work in Louisiana. Pitt stars alongside Cate Blanchett, Julia Ormond and Tilda Swinton in this story of a 50-year-old man (Pitt) who begins aging backwards.

Doyle, who has been scouting locations for Benjamin Button for three years, said Montreal was always on the filmmakers’ short list because they felt it would be an ideal place to stand in for snow-covered Moscow, as well as Paris in the 1940s. Filming in Paris and Moscow was ruled out early on because it would have been too expensive.

“New Orleans is a great city, but it’s not Paris,” Doyle said. “It doesn’t look like it. When you think about where you’re going to go (to shoot Europe in North America), it’s either Quebec City or Old Montreal, and Quebec City has its issues, including a lot of it being on hills. Paris is not known to be a very hilly city. So here we are in Old Montreal.”

Old Montreal is perfect for period Paris, but Doyle admitted it’s a bit more of a stretch for Moscow.

“You have to be a little more picky because the architectural style is much more ornate, thanks to the French architects who built Old Montreal, and then even the English, who came in afterward, kept with that same flavour,” Doyle said. “Russia, you have to go a little more banal, which is a little harder to do here.”

Last Wednesday, the filmmakers had done their best to make Vaudreuil St. - a one-block street off St. Paul St. near Place Jacques Cartier - look like Paris in the ’40s, complete with vintage black Parisian-style taxis and period Citroens.

The crew had stretched a huge piece of silk fabric above the street, laying it on aluminum beams connecting the buildings on either side. It was an attempt to reduce reflections and shadows caused by the sunlight.

A few days before the shoot, several condo owners who were unhappy with these beams being placed on their roofs sent a letter of complaint to the production.

Doyle admitted that the film team didn’t successfully get all the information about the structure to the people living in the buildings. When he saw the letter, Doyle called a meeting with the residents on Tuesday evening. He brought along his engineers to show why they felt the pylons were safe and would not damage the roofs. At the meeting, Doyle agreed to extend the insurance policy the producers had taken out on the roof to last a full year. The producers paid the two condo associations for using their property (Doyle would not reveal the amount of the payment).

He said he takes these complaints seriously. “This is definitely very uncommon. As I explained to them, in 22 years of doing this, there is no place that I’ve shot that I can’t go back to and shoot again. So it’s important to me that they come away with a positive experience, and it’s very unfortunate that so far some of them have not.”

The Old Montreal filming - and the entire Benjamin Button shoot - will wrap Wednesday, after more than 130 days of production. The budget is reported to be $150 million U.S.

The more I think about it, the more creeped out I’m getting.

There is a niche market that features babies/small children on their covers - Parents, etc. but on an entertainment magazine? The most recent People cover featured a pic of Madeleine, that missing toddler. And think back on other covers featuring children, sans parents: Alex and Michael Smith (Susan Smith’s victims), baby Jessica (fell down a well), Baby M (1st test-tube baby), any set of quad-quint-sex tuplets or multiple births.

US Mag is making a freak show of Shiloh for no other reason than that they can! JMO!

But remember, US wasn’t the first to place Baby Girl’s face on their tabloid cover. Star, placing that sweet little face on the same cover accusing her parents of having threesomes?!! Gross!!

Wow, I don’t see Angie or the kids in the picture above. But still, every responce here is about Brad’s private life. Go Figure?

What year is this movie set in? Is he born into 2007 and ages backwards from there? Could be interesting to watch time change, moving backwards. Will be interesting to see how quickly they move through time.

Very cute picture. What a guy. I respect him so much for getting out of his old life and going after what he wanted. It’s a lesson in taking chances and shaking things up when you are unhappy–and then being rewarded with your dreams.

ITA piper, with a low, I think US Weekly is pathetic. They are using Shi to sell magazines, and that to me is so low. JM and her people don’t know jack about what goes on in the JPs’ household and to go about like they do and using Shi in their cover story is wrong and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Ted has very good Clooney’s sources. I believe him. George could have been joking but also telling what he really thinks. Tmz had the same take as ted on the joke.

Plus, Clooneys rep reads EVERYTHING about him on the net, like the rumor of him leaking that tape of I love Hukabees director. The rumor started at defamer and george actually reply to defamer really fast, the same with gawker. But his rep didn’t say a thing about tmz’ take.

I understand what you are saying, but it appears that Ted C is trying to say George was serious, not me, but Ted C. Maybe Brad spendt more time hanging out with George before and George is feeling a little left out now. This does sometime happen with friends when one has a family and kids they are crazy about and one does not. I am not saying I agree with Ted C, I am just trying to see where he might be coming from. That’s all. George is probably just kidding but might be a little unhappy that Brad is so bonded with Angelina and the kids. After all George has never experienced that with any woman or kids, and might be puzzled by Brad’s new world order.
