Los Angeles - Angelina Jolie is secretly planning a lavish wedding for her and her lover Brad Pitt, it has been reported
The actress - who has been married twice before - is said to have secretly accepted Brad’s marriage proposal, and is now organising a ceremony which will dwarf the actor’s 2000 $1 million wedding to Jennifer Aniston.
A source told Grazia magazine: “Angelina has been reluctant to get married for a third time, for obvious reasons.
“Brad has been persistent and has now given in, but she wants the day to be really memorable. While she doesn’t want it to be unnecessarily lavish, that’s not her style, it will still be an event Hollywood will never forget.

It’s so weird how some people work so hard to come up with some angle to dislike about Angelina Jolie based on a paparazzi snapshot of a tiny sliver of her private life - taken while in public.

Things you probably don’t see and are too stupid to figure out:

Bath time, reading books together, diaper changes, bottle time for the little ones, cutting the crust off sandwiches, boo boos, time out for being naughty, tickle time

I can go on and on about the parenting moments you don’t see - you wouldn’t see it with our family because no matter how many times you might run into me at the grocer or while I’m out with my kids, that stuff happens at home.

Now print this out and review it. Refer back to it when you have kids, because when you take them out in public and you aren’t 100% frolicking and displaying your amazing parenting skills for the public, we’ll be calling SRS to alert them you don’t meet your own standards of perfection.

If a two year old at times wants to be independent, how much more you think a 5 yr old like Maddox would want to be independent? Madd has been nurtured and loved since he was adopted by Angie and it goes a long way when it comes to their self esteem. He is secured in the knowledge that he is well loved so he does not need to feel left out. Only insecured children or adults for that matter are constantly looking for unfair or bias treatment.

I agree. Maddox always appears to be a secure little boy, even a bit independent I would venture to guess. When a pre-schooler like Maddox is secure and independent it shows that all of his previous developmental tasks (trust vs. mistrust, autonomy vs. shame and doubt…Erik Erikson, anyone?) have been resolved in mostly postive way. A pre-schooler who readily breaks away from mom or dad to explore, reach out, and even empathize with other kids is a postive sign, not a negative one. An effective parent teaches their children to be secure and self-reliant, not dependent, clingy and needy. They’re siblings, even if just newy so, so I am sure they fuss and tussle like kids do, but to imply any more than that is just pure conjecture.

Also, these photographs only depict a few minutes out of the day and do not tell us everything they did that day. Making a conclusion based on a set of photographs like this about a mother’s love for her child if flawed at best.

Yes, Angie is very thin, always has been. But she’s still very beautiful and has many postive attributes that are both physical and intellectual. I wish I had Angie’s “too thin” body! Those long legs are to die for. Fat or thin, nobody has that face. Angie’s face is gorgeous. A thin person with a beautiful face can always gain weight, but what’s a girl with a homely face and a nice body to do?

I guess some people haven’t been around kids. My 5ys old nephew won’t let anyone hold his hand when we’re walking in public. Suzi, believe me, I know how much it hurts to loose someone, specially when that person is really close to you. I’m not saying that she should stop mourning her mother. That could last a lifetime. But what I’m saying is that she needs to get a grip, because life goes on and she has 4 small kids that needs her. And I will tell you more, she is going to miss her mother for the rest of her life. That will never stop, believe me. But she has to keep living…and eating.

Angelina has always been skinny. She worked out for Tomb Raider but was also padded for the role. She said so herself. But she worked for that body. It was not natural.

Brad’s body for Troy also was not natural. He worked hard to make his body like that for the role.

It’s more natural to be skinny than to be fat.

Brad and Angelina are not as superficial as some of you. They could care less what they look like, it they have wrinkles,big forehead, etc…They do have matching veins however. It’s so romantic. They saw themselves in each other. What a powerful love that is.

Celeb Rag Shocker: Us’s Exposé Exposé!

Eleven months ago, In Touch magazine ran a “Breaking News” cover about Jennifer Aniston that declared “JEN LOOKS PREGNANT!”

In January, another cover blared: “FRIENDS WORRY BRITNEY’S PREGNANT.” In April, Katie Holmes got the treatment: “KATIE LOOKS PREGNANT AGAIN.”

In Touch wasn’t alone on the bump-watch front. In the space of one year, after Angelina Jolie gave birth to baby Shiloh, Life & Style, owned by the same company, announced four times that Jolie again looked pregnant, was trying to get pregnant, was wearing loose-fitting clothing or nixing foods that pregnant women avoid. In 2005, Star said Jessica Simpson was “Finally PREGNANT!” In 2006, OK! magazine screamed: “J.LO TO BE A MOM!” Yet during this blizzard of cover headlines, these stars had given birth only to bogus stories.

While breathless hype is hardly unknown in the celebrity-rag business, a rival’s finger-pointing campaign is rare indeed. Us Weekly recently started razzing the competition with such weekly spreads as “How They Faked the Baby ‘News.’ ”

“When we put it all together and saw how many times they’ve played this game of trickery, it was pretty shocking,” says Us Weekly Editor Janice Min. “Would you continue to buy laundry detergent that didn’t work week after week?”

Clearly, this is not simply an exercise in selfless investigative sleuthing. In fact, Jann Wenner, the media mogul who owns Us Weekly, ordered up the attacks. Min, whose factual track record is not unblemished, concedes that her attempt to tarnish the other magazines amounts to “a business decision.”

Editors at the other magazines refused to address the details. “Did I miss the memo from Us Weekly saying they want to edit everyone’s magazines now? They should concentrate on their own,” Richard Spencer, editor of In Touch, says in a statement.

Richard Valvo, a spokesman for Star, says the magazine “would never willfully or knowingly print anything that we deem not to be true.” He calls it “amusing” that Min “would single out publications in the same category as Us Weekly” in light of her own record of corrections. (More on that below.)

Life & Style editors declined to comment. A spokesman for OK! did not respond to a request for comment.

At stake in the sniping is market share in a burgeoning business that almost seems to outstrip the available supply of celebrity couplings and uncouplings. At the end of 2006, Us Weekly was selling 1.75 million copies a week, a 40 percent increase over three years earlier. Star’s circulation was 1.5 million, a 26 percent jump in three years. But the most dramatic increases were among two magazines launched in the last five years: In Touch (1.3 million), up 151 percent since 2003; and Life & Style (753,000), up 157 percent during that period. People remained the industry leader with sales of 3.7 million.

The formula is fairly simple. Stars must be seen falling in and out of love, cheating or being cheated on, dieting or blimping up, bouncing back or melting down. Weddings, divorces, pregnancies, births, drug problems and rehab stints are huge. The problem is that the two dozen or so first-name luminaries whose faces move magazines — Paris and Lindsay and Britney and Nicole and their boyfriends and ex-boyfriends — can stir up only so much intrigue week after week. So some of the magazines take liberties.

“It’s clear what the editorial agenda is — to spin fantasy under the illusion of news,” Min says.

But wouldn’t phony stories catch up with the publications that peddle them? “There is a market of women out there who just like looking at the photographs,” says Min. “I also think a lot of people just haven’t caught on.”

A review of the Us Weekly allegations shows that the other magazines have repeatedly published stories and speculation that turned out not to be true, but that they often leave themselves some wiggle room with words such as “may” or “looks” or “told friends.”

A recent Star “exclusive” on Cruise and Holmes was headlined “DIVORCE!,” with the subhead “Katie in tears.” So far, no split.

A Life & Style cover this month on Jolie was headlined “WHY SHE LEFT BRAD” (she hasn’t). The story said Jolie had told an unnamed friend that “it’s over,” and the “biggest reason” was Brad Pitt’s continuing relationship with ex-wife Aniston. A year ago, Life & Style said Pitt had told Aniston he was going to marry Jolie and that “Angie visited . . . Karl Lagerfeld” for her wedding gown. In Touch also keeps marrying them off. They remain unhitched.

OK! trumpeted the news last month that “J.LO & MARC SPLIT!,” reporting that Jennifer Lopez “and her husband of just under three years, Marc Anthony, 38, had called it quits.” Well, not so far. And these magazines rarely, if ever, run corrections.

Us Weekly patrols the same celebrity precincts but tends to word things more carefully. A cover this month on Cruise and Holmes was headlined “NO WAY OUT/In love with Tom, but confined by Scientology, a conflicted Katie struggles to find happiness.”

Rival executives, blaming the crusade on jealousy over their circulation growth, are happy to point to Us Weekly’s mistakes, although not with their names attached. Before Holmes and Cruise had their baby, Us Weekly reported that she was having a boy. Oops: a girl arrived instead.

“We have made reporting mistakes, like any news organization,” Min says. “We have corrected them in the magazine. When it does happen, we’re mortified.”

Us Weekly also reported that Cruise and Holmes had bought an estate near London. You needed a magnifying glass to read the correction.

There are also creative ways of dealing with a scoop that falls flat as a souffle. After a big “VINCE PROPOSES!/Jen Says Yes” cover — which Min insists was true, including the selection of a ring — Us Weekly had to confront the apparent lack of an engagement. The solution was a followup story: “VINCE BACKS OUT.”

You know, I wonder if these tabloids ever think about the sales from fans they’re losing out on? I’ll be honest, before all of these rags turned on the JP’s, I’d snatch them all up (the pregger stories, the wedding stories, the baby stories, etc.) - especially when they had great pics. But once they started the relentless smears and hit jobs, just nasty stuff - week in and week out, I literally haven’t bought ANY of this trash. So I wonder who they think is buying this stuff, and if it ever occured to them, that they could get whatever market segment IS currently buying their rags, PLUS the fan base of the JP’s, IF they would only STOP going negative all the time. I would really have liked to see a magazine cover Cannes, and Brad and Angie and ther triumphant collaberation and gorgeousness on the red carpet — I guess People might have something. I’m going to start subscribing to them.

That is the one saving grace, if you can call it that mosquito hawk, good point. The old adage no such thing as bad publicity is true, the worse the tablies lie and make up sh*t and splash them on cover after cover, the bigger and almost mythological Brad and Angelina become. I posed a hypothetocal, and asked myself a very simple question - will all the press harping on Angelina and Brad make people less likely to see ‘A Mighty Heart’ and ‘Ocean’s 13,’ or MORE likely….well we all know the answer to that. I was thinking when I saw the first pics of the marineland adventure that Maddox was such a great brother. He was letting his younger brother take the spotlight. It shows he’s very mature, not bothered by his sibling’s attention. In fact, he wants his younger sibling to have the bonding that he was so lucky to have when it was just Angelina and him. He really acts like the big brother of the brunch. Even when his parents were walking the girls, he took a back seat to the walking behind them. Maddox is very mature and very undertstanding. He’s such a great role model for his siblings. He’s caring and sharing. For all those stupid “haters” who always complain about this or that, you guys are so petty. Like another blogger said, we can’t even imagine what it’s like to be in your relationship. These people are so insecure. I feel sorry for the life you had growing up, to always pointing out little things that might indicate lack of attention. You must be starving for attention.

Angelina Jolie Applauds US Increase for Orphans Funding, But Says There Is More to Be Done

WASHINGTON, May 30 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Angelina Jolie, Honorary Board Chair of Global Action for Children (GAC), applauded President Bush’s increase for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) funding, but cautioned that there is more work to be done. The President called on Congress today to provide $30 billion in funding for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, including care for OVC, over a five year period after the President leaves office. This doubles the current funding of $15 billion over five years which expires in 2008.

With regard to the increase for Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Ms. Jolie said, “We are all very grateful that the President has made this major commitment to these children. These are the world’s children and this is the world’s responsibility, and we hope that other G-8 countries will follow his lead. I will continue to actively lobby on behalf of these children and encourage Congress to follow through on this commitment.”

Ms. Jolie came to Washington late last month for meetings with GAC Executive Director Jennifer Delaney and senior officials at the U.S. Department of State, to call on officials to increase funding to support OVC programs and access to education. GAC is a nonpartisan advocacy coalition focused on increasing funding for programs that support Orphans and Vulnerable Children and provide free primary school education in developing countries.

Delaney, added, “The US has made a noble effort in increasing funding for OVC programs, and we’d like to see the other G8 nations do the same. We hope that the US funding will be used to carry out the mandate of the Orphans in Developing Countries Act, PL-109-95 signed into law by President Bush in 2005. The Act calls for the establishment an office of a full time high-level Special OVC Advisor tasked with coordinating government agencies, so that funding is spent in the most efficient way possible to reach as many children as possible.”

GAC was formed in 2003 as a campaign organized by faith-based, nongovernmental and student organizations dedicated to OVC and the communities that care for them. GAC’s unique strength lies in the diversity of its partners and allies and its ability to mobilize a broad range of constituencies to advocate for children.
