OlderFelicity Films ‘Phoebe in Wonderland’
Here are the first pictures of Felicity Huffman in one heckuva bizarre-o costume on Wednesday from the Long Island set of comedy Phoebe in Wonderland.
The Desperate Housewives actress filmed a fantasy sequence alongside 9-year-old co-star Elle Fanning (Dakota’s little sister, pictured below).
This movie will mark the directorial debut for Daniel Barnz, who also penned the screenplay.
Phoebe in Wonderland stars Fanning as a rebellious little girl who clashes with the rule-obsessed authority figures in her life. She seeks enlightenment from her unconventional drama teacher (Patricia Clarkson). Bill Pullman also co-stars.
Barnz, who apparently loves films with the word “land” in the title, also wrote Sugarland, which Jodie Foster will direct and star in. It’s an upcoming lawyer drama about exploited migrant workers also starring Robert DeNiro.

when is this movie supposed to come out. I know 2008 but does anyone know when exactly?
I had the great pleasure of seeing this film at the Magestic Theatre during the LA film festival. It is by far one of the best I’ve seen in a long time — great casting, directing and screenwriting. Barnz’s film skillfully and soulfully dipicts a young girl, Phoebe (Elle Fanning) and her family (parents, Felicity Huffman and Bill Pullman) spinning on the edge of awareness of an innate disease (tourette’s syndrome) that challenges Phoebe and all who come in contact with her. The acting is superb — including lovely Patricia Clarkson as the drama teacher and Campbell Scott as the principal. I am excited for those with Tourette’s — I have to believe that this film will help siblings, parents, educators and the general public better understand the disease as well as those inflicted. Koudos to Barnz and his entire cast and crew. I look forward to seeing his next screenplay which I believe is Sugarland.
Umm… Phoebe isnt Rebellious she has tourettes syndrome and OCD. A very misunderstood condition., which the movie did a great job of showing.
Wonderful movie - though I would not call it a comedy. It is a drama about a little girl trying to fit in. As reviewers have said she has a type of Obsessive Compulsive disorder. I really felt for her as I have this too. Not as severe as Phoebe, but I did struggle with shcool severly. I am 36 now and I wish that I had the support of Phoebe’s Drama teacher and more support form my parents. A wonderful movie, not at all what I thought - much, much deeper. I’m very grateful for seeing it and to those who made it.
