Time Magazine sat down with some of the stars of Ocean’s 13 — Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Ellen Barkin — on the terrace at the Hotel du Cap in Cannes, France.
Here’s are some funny excerpts:
On the subject of charisma, you’ve each been called the last great movie star at one point or another. Are we really running out of movie stars, and is that, like, a problem?
CLOONEY: The last real movie stars were probably Redford and Newman. And things were different then. There wasn’t this amazing amount of magazines and information about them.
DAMON: We didn’t know anything about them.
CLOONEY: There was mystique. They’re 60 feet high, and you paid your buck and a half to go see them. But that’s gone. People know everything about everybody now.
PITT: Jaws came along and proved you could make huge money with blockbusters, and it set this thing in motion that has lowered the subject matter. People like George have been getting good stuff out there, but it’s an industry that pushes people out on the big stage too fast, before they’re ready, and it eats them up as well. It’s a different kind of arena now.
BARKIN: Think about it. Do we know anything about Robert Redford’s children? Does he even have any?
DAMON: I worked with him, and I don’t know.
PITT: I have four, if you haven’t heard.
As we’re talking, there are paparazzi in boats out in the harbor taking pictures. Having just been through the celebrity muck of Cannes, who gets it the worst?
CLOONEY: There’s no question, it’s Brad.
PITT: Well, exponentially, with us together …
CLOONEY: But even before he was with [Angelina Jolie], we used to chum the water with him.
PITT: This is not a joke. They used to send me out to take the hits.
CLOONEY: We were at the airport in Italy. So I walk off the plane, and it’s “Hey, Giorgio!” And I go, “Look! Brad Pitt!” and they’re gone.
DAMON: You described it once as “People were stepping on our faces trying to get to Brad.”
PITT: Ah, well, I don’t take it as a compliment.

I think her new man is the guy who dates the wrestler/dancing with the stars girl Stacey Kiebler. Of course I could always be wrong but who cares.

By the way, I am a little confused about People Magazine, usually they don’t publish crap w/o pictures or when they really have an exclusive. Are they threatened by the IDIOT Min and US WEAKLY? What gives?
I love the idea of Brad and George doing a comedy/biography/period piece, even a re-make of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Penelope Cruz’ sister plays the girl (updated to be Mexican)and it happens in a contemporary setting. Interesting tie in here with Thelma and Louise…Thelma and Louise were the female BC/SK, even going over a cliff at the end, if I recall…

It’s not an article it’s the link to a post in their forum about AMH. There is a long ass fight going on for months on how the casting was wrong, the part shoul have gone to a black actress etc.. blah blha blah
I agree with Alicia, Ellen Barkin looks great! She is on the cover of this months More magazine looking gorgeous!

The sad thing about US is that when it first started it was very much like People. However, when Bonnie Fuller took over the rag about 10-12 years ago they chose to go in a more gossipy direction because they weren’t making a dent in People’s marketshare. Now that they’ve become, as Lamey likes to call them, “the gossip bible”, they’re trying to remake their image as being an “entertainment NEWS magazine”. However, when all of your stories are presented in a sensationalized manner and embelished with fictious occurences, then calling yourself a “news magazine” just doesn’t fly. If US was serious about being a “news magazine” they wouldn’t do covers that exploit children who can barely walk and talk.
At this point I don’t think US is trying to become more like People. They’re merely trying to separate themselves from the rest of the tabloids by setting themselves up as the arbiters of factual reporting in the celebrity “news” industry. They know they’ll never be People…but neither do they want their name mentioned in the same breath as Star and National Enquirer. In order to do that they have to paint as black a picture of their competitors as possible. Luckily for us it doesn’t look like the competition is going to take that lying down. I believe Star’s story today is American Media’s way of saying, “Bring it on!” to Wenner and Min.

I am sure that US WEAKLY went out of their way to confirm that BP had adopted Maddox and Zahara. They could only report the facts in this case. However, the delusional hens will go down sputtering and screaming at the Ocean crying, “Say it ain’t so”. Too bad, too sad. Suck it up ladies. BP and AJ are a committed couple raising 4 beautiful children with more to come.

Brad and Angelina conquer Cannes. A Mighty Heart earns critical acclaim. The Oceans boys do not disappoint on 13. Mr and Mrs Pitt make out in the backseat of a car, world goes bananas, haters hate, Brangelunatics lose their ****…but the point is, everybody is talking. And no one is talking about Jen.
So like clockwork – a tabloid story surfaces about her writing a tell all book to the tune of $5 million. She promptly denies it through her publicist via ANOTHER tabloid – way to spread the ink space…and now, just 3 days after that, all of a sudden People Magazine is reporting that Jennifer Aniston went out on a date on Saturday night in Santa Monica. They waited for table as he rubbed her back (???) and then spent the next three hours romancing each other over a bottle of PELLEGRINO!!!
How ‘bout that for catering to the MiniVan Majority?
Anyway here’s Jen Memorial Day weekend with Courteney and her friends looking healthy and relaxed, contemplating the ocean and basking in contentment. Especially now that we’re talking about her again.
Ok now I really Excited to see how US weekly will retaliate Star magazine next week. This tabloid war is getting better and better. Funny thing is that US was being harder on Life and Style and In tounch, the sister plubication, as they call it. But Star was the first to retaliate.

I was watching E News… Peecrust announced the winner of their O13 contest. After congratulating the winner, Peecrest , through clinched teeth, said that he hoped that the winner will have a good time at the LA O13 premiere and that E will not be there because they weren’t invited!
Did anyone else see this, because maybe I imagined this?
