Time Magazine sat down with some of the stars of Ocean’s 13 — Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Matt Damon, Ellen Barkin — on the terrace at the Hotel du Cap in Cannes, France.
Here’s are some funny excerpts:
On the subject of charisma, you’ve each been called the last great movie star at one point or another. Are we really running out of movie stars, and is that, like, a problem?
CLOONEY: The last real movie stars were probably Redford and Newman. And things were different then. There wasn’t this amazing amount of magazines and information about them.
DAMON: We didn’t know anything about them.
CLOONEY: There was mystique. They’re 60 feet high, and you paid your buck and a half to go see them. But that’s gone. People know everything about everybody now.
PITT: Jaws came along and proved you could make huge money with blockbusters, and it set this thing in motion that has lowered the subject matter. People like George have been getting good stuff out there, but it’s an industry that pushes people out on the big stage too fast, before they’re ready, and it eats them up as well. It’s a different kind of arena now.
BARKIN: Think about it. Do we know anything about Robert Redford’s children? Does he even have any?
DAMON: I worked with him, and I don’t know.
PITT: I have four, if you haven’t heard.
As we’re talking, there are paparazzi in boats out in the harbor taking pictures. Having just been through the celebrity muck of Cannes, who gets it the worst?
CLOONEY: There’s no question, it’s Brad.
PITT: Well, exponentially, with us together …
CLOONEY: But even before he was with [Angelina Jolie], we used to chum the water with him.
PITT: This is not a joke. They used to send me out to take the hits.
CLOONEY: We were at the airport in Italy. So I walk off the plane, and it’s “Hey, Giorgio!” And I go, “Look! Brad Pitt!” and they’re gone.
DAMON: You described it once as “People were stepping on our faces trying to get to Brad.”
PITT: Ah, well, I don’t take it as a compliment.

I love watching and reading interviews these guys do together. They are really funny and you get a sense that they had one heck of a time doing this movie.

I have read several articles and been on different sites that said Brad did not officially adopt the kids. Does anyone knows if he really did adopt the kids.

Yes, he adopted them last year.. I believe this was mentioned in the Newsweek article about Brad.
Adoptions are not announced, unlike name changes.

US Magazine’s Twisted Double Life!
The cover story of the June 11 issue of US Weekly — “Inside Shiloh’s World: The secret home life of a daddy’s girl and the surprising truth about Mom” — breathlessly promises an exclusive inside peek at the day-to-day family life of Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and their children, with emphasis on daughter Shiloh, who recently celebrated her first birthday.
Star decided to investigate — and discovered that US Weekly’s revelations about Jolie-Pitt’s “secret home life” aren’t so secret after all. In fact, most of the article has been recycled from TV interviews and other magazines, including Reader’s Digest, U.K.’s Elle and Glamour!
US Weekly’s fascinating revelations (that, ahem, they’ve totally “borrowed” from previously published interviews) include these riveting bon mots: Angelina loves spending time with her children, creating Easter baskets, and sharing play dates with her kids, their friends and the other moms. Yes, it sure sounds like Angelina is a terrific mother, according to US.
But hold on — that’s quite a different picture from the one Us Weekly recently painted of Jolie in it’s April 9 issue, whose cover story on Angelina blared: “Her Twisted Double Life!”
That feature — which, again, recycled previously published Jolie interviews from other publications — went on for eight pages, claiming Angelina had “broken her promise to be a stay-at-home mom” and that she had “secret fights with Brad over Pax’s adoption.” Of course, neither of these appear to be true: The couple is still together, and Jolie has just anounced that she will be taking a year off to be with her children.

Adoption documents are private and sealed that why the tabs keep saying he hasn’t adopted the kids.

DAMON: One of the most underrated actors right now as a leading man is Christian Bale. He turned in two great performances last year. He was great in The Prestige, and he was great in this movie called Harsh Times.

I have to chuckle at this…a few nights ago someone asked what actors we’d like to see Angie work with and I listed Christian Bale and said he was probably the most underrated actors around…and I’ll be darned if Matt Damon doesn’t say that same thing. I’m sure Christian Bale appreciates hearing that from a colleague more than a fan on a celeb gossip blog…

Yes, he adopted Maddox and Zahara. The adoption process ended just before Shiloh’s birhtday. There’s an interview where Brad says so.
As for Pax, the name change is the first step towards adoption, but the process is surely not yet completed as it takes a little less than six months.
Usually - and in spite of Brad’s words confirming the adoption - haters say the kids were not adopted because we haven’t seen the adoption decree… Of course all adoption records are sealed, but who can reason with haters?
