Brad’s got Barkin’s back!

Actress Ellen Barkin lets Brad Pitt borrow her back to sign autographs at the CineVegas opening night premiere of Ocean’s Thirteen on Wednesday at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brad sported a new marking on his left hand — new cross tattoo or just a Sharpie marker drawing?

The Ocean’s 13’s producer Jerry Weintraub was honored with the Vanguard Producer Award during opening night festivities—Lights, Camera, Take Action.

The premiere benefited the aid group, International Rescue Committee for Not On Our Watch, an organization whose initial campaign is to support existing Darfur humanitarian relief efforts and to ensure the protection of civilians in that region.

Angelina has been giggling a lot lately (OC13 premier)…..I wonder if she’s preggy. Remember what she said about her laughing a lot when she was pregnant with Shiloh. Hope she is.

Can we please have a new Jennifer Aniston thread with some side pictures of Paul?

Thanks!

Dumb people-I agree @ 06/07/2007 at 12:23 pm

Relationship is hardwork. That’s what Brad and Angie have been doing in the last two years of their lives. Working hard to raise a family and making their lives work.

i like the way Jolie-Pitt respond to the fan in LA premiere of ocean 13.
they are sown to earth couple very compassionate.

a fan posted a video on youtube i like the way Angie talk there was a place she says oh my God really i admire her.

also how she spoke that she is there to support her man so that the focus will not be on her.

also anytime am looking at all the pictures of the premiere in JJB seeing both of them smiling it make me to start laughing also because this show how they care for themselve and the feel relaxed with each other.

really i want to be a fly by their side to know what is making them to laugh.

also i like when George Clooney join in the laugh next Jolie and Matt.

Well in a nut shell i like the Jolie-Pitt family and also how they respect each other.

i like all the comment of George, Matt, Don about Jolie-Pitt they really know that Brad and Angie are the real deal and also they are contended with themselves, they see that Brad is really happy beeing with Jolie that settled it.

Whether people like it or not.

I will always admire them and suport anything they do.

we don’t care who Jen is dating. She can date anybody. what we care is Brad & Angie are very happy and in love with each other.

I just heard on the news that Jen’s people said “It is dumb to say that Jen is in a relationship when they’ve gone on a couple of dates.” Are they calling the People magazine dumb?

love reading all these interview

Access Hollywood interview

Clooney was the first to make his way down the red carpet, and Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush and Shaun Robinson were there to greet him when he finished signing autographs.

When asked why he was the first one to walk the carpet, the always-funny George replied, “I figured I’d knock this off quickly. Get it done, because…have you ever followed Brad Pitt down a red carpet? It’s not fun. You walk behind him, they’re like, ‘hey Geo– oh. Brad Pitt!’”

Another drawback to walking behind Brad, it turns out, is that he has a “thing” when it comes to signing autographs. As “Ocean’s” co-star Don Cheadle pointed out, “Brad’s really got a compulsion about [autographs]. He’ll sign every piece of paper.”

And, obviously, there’s never a shortage of fans seeking Brad’s signature. Matt Damon told Billy a little story: “Yeah, we were in Germany a few years ago. We sat there for 45 minutes. Brad signed absolutely everything.”

Speaking of Brad’s outgoing demeanor, Billy noted a recent interview with Angelina Jolie in which she revealed that Brad is a great listener and talker — especially when she’s in the tub taking a bath. Matt and Don were able to relate to that.

Matt: I notice that with Brad also.
Don: You too?
Matt: When we get in the tub…
Don: When we get in the tub he wants to talk all the time.
Matt: It’s like, I just want to soak.

As for the power couple themselves, Brad and Angelina showed up to a cacophony of cheering people — with hundreds of them trying to score an autograph. When Brad finally reached Billy and Shaun, they marveled over his and Angelina’s attention to the fans.

Shaun: You guys, you and Angelina did this whole line!
Brad: Not quite, we didn’t make it to the end there.
Shaun: Because the movie was about to start.
Brad: Yeah, apparently it started 15 minutes ago.
Billy: How great is this, though? The helicopters are in the air, it’s a big movie production.
Brad: I didn’t even notice helicopters, I’m used to them. They’re usually outside the house every day.

While helicopter surveillance may be a common occurrence at the Jolie-Pitt household, there are other more mundane things that do startle Brad a bit.

“I got barfed on right before we left,” Brad confessed. “The jacket wasn’t on yet, so it was all right.”

And while he wouldn’t say which of their four children threw up on him, Brad recognized that things like that was all a part of fatherhood.

“If someone had told me that I would be getting barfed on and crapped on,” he said, “and [that] I wouldn’t mind, I wouldn’t have believed it.”

Brad is sure to have a happy father’s day, as long as his four kids give him something besides bodily fluids.

As for George, he has some father’s day plans of his own. When Shaun asked him what he was going to be doing that day, he replied with a
laugh, “Avoiding all of my ex-girlfriends.”

“Ocean’s Thirteen” opens in theaters nationwide this Friday

A Film Review by James Berardi @ 06/07/2007 at 12:41 pm

3 out of 4 stars

I may be in the minority, but I don’t consider Ocean’s Twelve to be the dog that some critics have labeled it. Sure, it’s a little self-indulgent, but it’s a genial caper drama that allows us to spend some time in the company of the survivors of the 2001 remake of Ocean’s Eleven. Now, along comes Ocean’s Thirteen, and it’s back to basics. This is a stripped-down, plot-oriented heist movie where character development and interpersonal interaction have been set aside in order to keep the parts clicking. It’s like watching a huge Rube Goldberg machine. The end result is a foregone conclusion. The fascination comes from watching the contortions necessary to get there and guess what will happen next to propel events forward.

All of the previous Ocean’s Eleven male cast members are back, although the two women - Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones - have elected to sit this one out, leaving full estrogen duties to Ellen Barkin. The film’s new big gun is Al Pacino, who has his share of Al Pacino moments, including a nice little rant, to keep us from forgetting who he is. He’s surrounded by about a dozen actors who have been through this twice before and seem so comfortable around each other than one suspects they might not be doing much acting. The Oceans movies have always been a lark for director Stephen Soderbergh and his stars, and nothing has changed this time around for this modern-day Rat Pack. Rumor has it there won’t be an Ocean’s Fourteen, but the way these guys enjoy playing off one another and tossing around one-liners, it can’t be ruled out.

With the exception of a few opening scenes designed to inform us what an utter ******* Willie Bank (Pacino) is, Ocean’s Thirteen is all about the Big Caper. In this case, it’s to ruin Willie, who is opening a new Vegas Casino using land and money bilked from Reuben Tishkoff (Elliott Gould). Reuben has a heart attack as a result of his treatment at Willie’s hands and now the gang led by Danny Ocean (George Clooney), Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt), and Linus Caldwell (Matt Damon) wants revenge. Their idea: put the casino deep in the red and steal $250 million in diamonds. It’s a huge, risky, expensive proposition and it requires deeper pockets than Danny and his compatriots have, so they go to an unlikely source for funding: casino mogul Terry Benedict (Andy Garcia), their previous adversary. Terry is interested, but for a price: $72 million - a more than 100% return on his investment. But he’s in this for more than the money. Like Ocean’s crew, he wants to see Willie squirm.

The caper unfolds slowly, like an onion being peeled. The movie doesn’t waste time with side plots or character building. This is roughly a 100 minute biopsy of every aspect of the crime. The movie keeps the audience guessing but is never too far ahead that we’re in danger of becoming lost nor too far behind that we get the sense that the characters are slow-witted morons. Soderbergh sustains viewer interest, which allows the pacing to be brisk even though the amount of action is minimal. As thrillers go, this is a pretty low key affair. There’s plenty of tension but there’s more comedy than there is conventional action. Each character gets his moment but, because there are so many of them to accommodate during the two-hour running length, none of those moments is lengthy.

Ocean’s Thirteen is the first sequel of the summer of 2007 not to fall on its face. The film is better paced and more involving than Ocean’s Twelve but perhaps not as well executed as Ocean’s Eleven. The appeal of the series isn’t just the serpentine nature of the story, which by definition is out to trick the viewer, but seeing so many famous faces together in one place. There’s something old fashioned about how this movie has been made and presented, and this is highlighted by the psychedelic opening and closing credits. The movie doesn’t go deeply retro like Grindhouse but it intentionally raises memories of the original Rat Pack, even going so far as to invoke Frank Sinatra by name and by song.

The differences between Ocean and Clooney and Rusty and Pitt have become so blurred that a late-movie exchange between them carries a double meaning. It can be seen as an exchange between the characters or the actors, and makes sense in either context. The screenplay isn’t a masterpiece of misdirection but it is smart enough that one can feel comfortable about keeping one’s intelligence engaged as things unfold. The lack of explosions and gunfire makes this an atypical summer thriller, but its breezy brand of unforced and occasionally self-referential entertainment is a lot more fun than pirates, webslingers, and green ogres.
