The only comparable thing about O13 and TBU is that an ex of one of the leads experienced a life-changing joy prior to the premiere.

Mind you, having a baby doesn’t compare to scooping up a model.

And it’s doubtful that ‘fans’ would buy extra tickets to O13 as a way to ‘comfort’ Brad.

A side note… do you all remember how people were campaigning for Vince Vaughn to take Brad’s place in O13?

Can you imagine Vince doing that walk through the hallways and to a waiting jet? I used to have love goggles for that dude, but $h*t… they weren’t that strong!!:lol:

Angelina let the truth slip out because She is not a good liar at all. She said Brad is a good friend and then she tried to add quickly that they talk deeply to kind of make it sound like he’s more than just a great friend she wants to raise her kids with.

She should just stop talking about him all together.

Dear hater, you are insane. Let’s pretend you hadn’t heard Angelina Jolie say ad infinitum how much she loves Brad — can I ask what has led you to the conclusion (besides rabid hate and jealousy of Angelina Jolie that is) that a woman emphasizing that her man is a “great friend,” is somehow mutually exclusive and can’t also mean that he is her “love,” also? Are you just disregarding the fact that she not only has said she loves the man, but has given him her children, and is sharing her life (all of it - til she’s old and grey hopefully) with him? Do you realize how irrational and butter an old ugly crone you sound? It’s almost hysterical if it weren’t so funny. Let’s just say she hadn’t called Brad Pitt “her love,” on National TV (ABC’s GMA) with Diane Sawyer, and let’s just say she hadn’t said she “loves,” the man in 947 different ways, praising and lauding him all the way, more than I’ve ever heard any woman talk about her man PERIOD, let alone one that’s a famous movie star who’s talking about her man. Even then to make a sci-fi leap that she only wants a Dad for her kids, still flies in the face of factual evidence - because she said she was happy being a single Mom. When you think about it - Angelina is unusually honest, we never really get to hear this kind of intimate detail and glowing loving descriptions of a partner. Yet what do you do, obsessed embittered b*tch that you are, you want her to constantly repetitively chant in mantra like fashion 24/7, 365 days a year, how much she loves Brad Pitt. The plain old evidence that your ‘lying’ eyes are giving you - be it in the interviews you read, the pictures you see, or the beautiful reality of their shared life together - you are unwilling to accept. It’s quite BIZARRE, but typical of the haterfaniston FREAK mindset. I think Angelina speaks so highly of Brad, and so often, not only because she believes in his goodness, and admires and respects him, but she is really concerned about rehabilitating Brad, since his character was publicly trashed by Maniston. In a way, I thank God for the VF interview, it has enabled Brad to see that loser for the FRAUD she is, and he has been able to completely detach from her and not even worry about being a polite stranger. In that way, she did him and Angie a BIG favor.

I read the Esqire interview yesterday and all I have to say is that it’s by FAR the most well written article I have ever read on Angie. Completely focused on the main perpuse with many very good indirect jabs at all the idiotic tabloid headlines regarding her out there.

TP - I agree that it was a good PROFILE…except that toward the end the author lapsed into doing the very thing he’d spent 2 pages castigating the tabs for doing - emphasizing the “crazy” Angie over the “good” Angie. There was no reason to include in this article that Brad bought the rights to AMH for X…because it’s not accurate. Secondly he said that Angie broke up Brad’s marriage and that’s not accurate either. In the end he did the same thing the tabs do - perpetuate falsities about Angie. He is supposed to be a serious journalist yet he couldn’t take 30 minutes to search for the truth behind Brad’s purchase of the AMH manuscript. Brad said at the time that he bought it that the neither he nor X would be in the movie. There are just far too many sources for that information for the author to have not looked into the RUMOR that X was going to be in the movie. He also quoted the tabs that Angie broke up Brad’s marriage when Brad and X have both said that wasn’t true. So while the bulk of the “profile” is good…in the end he screwed Angie over just like the tabs have.

I agree 110%. I couldn’t believe that buried in this great article (aside from the 9/11 stuff that was more than a bit convoluted, I agree with what some have said) - you also had some tabloid fiction/accusations represented as truth. Sure, they were brief mentions, and for most people who accept the mythology that Maniston has created in large part herself (that maneater Angie ’stole’ Brad away) - they probably didn’t bat an eyelid, but to those of us who know the truth - and care, it was an incredible disappointment. The FACTS: I personally read an interview that Brad did when he was still with Maniston, where he says the exact OPPOSITE of what this author says regarding AMH and Plan B, ‘No, this is not for us, Plan B is just developing it.’

Also, the interviewer’s first comment where he remarks of the stories that exist ABOUT Angie is that ’she wrested Brad Pitt from Jennifer Aniston,’ I disregarded as I thought he was commenting on some people’s perceptions. But when he came back and said later, ‘When Brad Pitt left Jenniffer Aniston for Angelina.’ I cringed. Brad himself, said the polar opposite, as did Angelina, as did Jennifer in not only the statement she released at the time of the separation - but also, she subsequently told Vogue she knew her marriage was over in Summer of 2004 (not commenting all the evidence that said they were a troubled union to begin with — 6 month separations, 3 month separations, “rough and nasty patches,” “experimental mergers,” a partner who was “not the love of (her) life,” - this is ALL pre-Angie). So given all that - I would have thought, such a detailed, lyrical author/interviewer, who is trying his damndest to be be true and profound, would have given them a break, and wouldn’t have just accepted the tabloid version of these people’s lives, propping up the myth created by Huvaniston. All he had to do was click on Google.

It’s times like these I wonder if Aniston has to rue what she wrought. It’s one thing to try and get your own back in a revenge article designed to do damage in the immediate future (her Vanity Fair piece) - it’s another, to pick up an article in a legit magazine two years later, and read that ‘YOU WERE LEFT FOR ANGELINA JOLIE.’ I would think, if she has a HUMAN heart that is, she would feel some remorse at having introduced that piece of slanderous fiction about such a good and decent man, into the public eye. In her heart of hearts, she knew it wasn’t going to last. She’s since come out and said that. So aside from attempting to trash Brad in this manner, forever going down in history as the ‘REJECT of the CENTURY,’ I would think she HAS to regret VF at time. The dumb b*tch.

I don’t know if these numbers are really true but wow, if Brad really did get 20m plus 20% of MMS gross and probably a percentage of the DVD sales.

That’s not including Troy, Fight Club (which is still in the top 100 of DVD sales list) O11, O12 and now O13 (though you wouldn’t think that he get 20m + 20% for the Ocean series, plus Babel, where he didn’t get 20m but he probably got a % of box office take and it took in rather a lot.

And I’m really happy he is so successful coz I know some of that money is going to end up in Cambodia, Ethiopia, NOLA, on refugees and the poor. Wonderful.

Lylian - from what I understand Brad only started getting the 20% of the gross AFTER he did Fight Club & Spy Game. Also, I don’t think that USA today got the info quite right. It’s not $20MIL + 20%. It’s $20MIL OR 20% of the B.O. gross. What studio in their right mind is going to give an actor BOTH?

He has gotten the 20% B.O. on all the Oceans movies, Troy, and M&MS and CCOBB. For AOJJ and Babel he took a $1MIL salary, but I don’t know if he got the 20% of the gross.

This 20% of the gross thing is just one reason why people were saying last year that Forbes had Brad’s earnings wrong. Just think about this - M&MS made $487MIL. If Brad got 20% of the GROSS, not the net profits, but the entire B.O. earnings of the movie, then that’s $97.4MIL off of one movie.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I can’t really see a studio giving an actor 1/5 of the GROSS unless it’s the GROSS PROFITS. If M&MS cost them, let’s say $200 to produce and advertise worldwide, then that would be a gross profit of $287MIL, which would put Brad’s take at about $57.4MIL plus a % of DVD sales/rentals. Still…that’s a hell of a lot of money for 1 movie…especially when Forbes had Tom Cruise’s earnings at $67MIL and he was #1. They had Brad at about $35 and he was #20.

PT, the old ‘News of tha Screws’ may well be a dirty old tabloid, but they probs know all about lil Jennies habits and hobbies trust me ;). They can’t print too much of course because not everyone is stupid enough to get photographed doing naughty things (a la Kate Moss) Plus I always think they are a bit scared of US lawyers. The angle that seem to be taking with this is NOT that miss pure is like this at all- oh no! more that ‘poor Aniston’ (a term which now surely must be approaching some sort of trademark status) must be saved from this cad.

Thing I’m surprised at is how her people got Aniston mixed and fixed up with this slutboi model. When or where did this liason ever look good on paper? Bad bad idea! They should have known most of us Brits turn out to be degenerates..or gay! lol (incase any one lurking is missing a sense of humour that’s a joke BTW)

I just saw Oceans 13 and Omg I loved it…funny…I wish my ticket wasn’t $6 but more because it was worth it…In one scene they show part of the theater I went too…Good Movie!!!

For anyone else who has seen O13 yet - what do you think of the Oprah thing? I think they are totally ragging on these overly dramatic talk shows, and the fact that the reality of a ‘guest appearance’ on Oprah might be something totally different (as well as hella disingenuous, lol!) than what the ‘viewing audience,’ sees. I’d say more but I don’t want to spoil. ;-)

Re: Esquire Interview

I know a lot of you have problems with the way the writer approached the interview, but I still want to read it.

People also had problems with the Marie Claire interview too, but I still enjoyed it, especially when she described the joy in watching Brad with their children and how they feed off of the discovery and love of that parent-child relationship. I especially love how Angelina described how Brad loves her; taking care of her physically and most importantly, emotionally; challenge her intellectually; appreciate her body whether it’s in peak shape, thinner, or swollen with a baby. And he seems consistent with it, not taking her or their family for granted.

Angelina ‘fans’ called for a public declaration or act of love from Brad; may they never get what they want. Brad seems to be about the cumulative, not shooting his w@d in one go. Some have accused Angelina of seeking out a father figure in her relationships; some even attempted to say that Brad resembles JV (blonds and blue-eyed… wow, it’s like looking in a mirror :roll: ) but clearly, JV isn’t in the same league as Brad- h*ll, he doesn’t recognize that he’s following the rules and guidelines of a game that Angelina isn’t a participant of. Just last week, he was at the MTV Movie Awards pulling the same $h*t that hasn’t worked in 5 years; time to pitch the playbook, buddy!
