Older‘Ocean’s 13′ Earns $13 Million
Ocean’s Thirteen rolled out an impressive $13.1 million, according to Friday estimates. The heist comedy should easily pick up the No. 1 slot this weekend.
In No. 2 was the Katherine Heigl-Seth Rogen comedy Knocked Up, which brought in $6.2 million during its second week in release.. Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End sailed close behind with a cool $6 million.
The stars of Ocean’s Thirteen recently donated over $750,000 to poverty-fighting charity Oxfam. Co-stars Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Matt Damon also donated to Clooney’s Not on Our Watch charity, which helps the inhabitants of Western Sudan.
Clooney has said, “The people of Darfur urgently need the help of organizations like Oxfam.”
UPDATE: Ocean’s 13 pulled in a healthy $37 million at the box offices this weekend. POTC3 sailed away with $21 million with Knocked Up not far behind with $20 million.

The same people who complain about the ex being forever linked to the JP’s just keep perpetuating the cycle. If you’re going to continue dragging the ex into every BAMPZS thread then don’t complain that she is still linked to them… If, as many of you believe, the tabloids are trolling the blog threads for news, getting a pulse, etc. you are simply sending the message that you want their names linked. Ergo, you get what you ask for, so don’t complain. It’s that simple.

I’m with you.I just wish __ stops with the BP/AJ association.Sad thing is I just checked__’s new thread and our people are over there giving hits.To read __thread and be annoyed and irritated by her is normal.But come on,do we need to really post and give her so many comments from bampzsers? Yep, Jen better watch out coz the Man eater - Angie is the sort of woman who doesn’t passively sit by and whine and bemoan her losses. She goes out there and makes things happen and gets what she wants.
(1) She wanted to fly a plane and whadya know, she’s licensed to fly in America and the UK.
(2) She wants to help out in Cambodia and whadya know, she is working on Maddox Jolie Pitt Program and benefitting thousands of poor Cambodians including over 800 cambodian kids who get to go to school.

Someone has issues.
This is Jared’s site; if he wants to post ___ threads, it is his right.
Meanwhile, over the last few weeks, we BAMPZS have been privy to an average of 2-3 new threads a day. Awesome, newsworthy threads, with gorgeous pictures.
It’s amazing how some turn into ingrates at the drop of a hat!
Because we keep posting on her thread that’s right JJ puts another one.
I would like to see everyone boycotts the new threads please, please and please.

If you’re Brad Pitt, you aim for the heart. The actor, 43, went all-out to celebrate Angelina Jolie’s 32nd birthday on June 4, filling their home in
L.A.¹s Los Feliz neighborhood with flowers, surprising her with a gold ring adorned with the birthstones of their four children and treating her to a very special meal.
“He cooked an AMAZING dinner,” a Jolie friend tells Us. “She was so excited, she talked about [Brad’s gifts] all day!”
And the giving didn’t stop there.
Although they hit the red carpet together at the L.A. premiere of Ocean’s Thirteen the next day, Pitt passed on the flick’s June 7 premiere in Chicago and instead joined Jolie for dinner with the father of Daniel Pearl (the slain reporter on whom her drama A Mighty Heart is based).
Is Pitt working overtime to pamper Jolie in the wake of her mother’s recent death?
One thing’s for sure; Coping hasn’t been easy, says Australian singer Rebecca **. James, a pal of Jolie’s brother, James Haven.
“James and Angelina are incredibly supportive,” she tells Us. “They are leaning on each other.”

Yeah - this is how I feel. If it’s positive it’s all good. They can write about babies, weddings, surprise B-day parties, Mommy’s Day, Daddy’s Day - and it can ALL be 100% made up hogwash…I will not say a word, and what’s more, if the pics are great, and the fiction compelling, I may just buy it….
If it’s negative, not only do I leave it on the shelf, I turn it back to front in the grocery store if I see it. :-)
By the way - thanks for the tab breakdown…it’s mostly quiet on the rag front, with a few positive blips, which is all good I guess. Except you left out the worst of the lot, NE, who supposedly has B&A’s ‘nanny’ spilling hot secrets…people on JJB were like, ‘..it better be about their sex life, or NE can go f**k themselves’ - LOL. I would agree with that sentiment.
But as usual, NE has their finger on the pulse of NO ONE, and decides to have the ‘nanny’ telling of ‘knock down drag out brawls,’ worming maniston in their too.

That issue just might wind up in the frozen food section of my grocery store. :lol:

The sad saga of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Danny Pearl has made it to the bigscreen with facts, figures and beating heart intact in “A Mighty Heart.” In his first studio venture, Michael Winterbottom coaxes forth a staggering wealth of detail from this terse, methodical account of Pearl’s kidnapping and murder in Pakistan, seen through the eyes of those who sought his return. Given audiences’ resistance to films dealing with 9/11 and its aftermath, soberly restrained pic reps a mighty tough sell, though Angelina Jolie’s performance as Pearl’s widow should broaden prospects for the June 22 Stateside release
Having covered the U.S. bombing of Afghanistan following the Sept. 11 attacks, the Pearls were working as journalists in Karachi, Pakistan, on Jan. 23, 2002 — the day Danny (”Capote” scribe Dan Futterman), chasing a story about foiled shoe bomber Richard Reid, got into a cab and never returned. Sticking close to the very pregnant Mariane (Jolie), pic recounts the restless five-week search for the man’s whereabouts and his kidnappers’ identities, all accompanied by a hailstorm of media attention.
Screenplay crisply diagrams the labyrinth of false leads and fruitless interrogations with various middlemen Danny may have had contact with on the night of his disappearance. Suspicion ultimately comes to rest on the elusive Omar Saeed Sheikh (Alyy Khan), a known Islamic militant with a history of kidnapping foreigners.
But this is ultimately — and very intimately — Mariane Pearl’s story, and much of it rests on Jolie, who fits comfortably into the naturalistic mold that shapes the entire ensemble. Though Jolie sports a big belly, a high-coiffed hairstyle and a very challenging accent (raised in France, Mariane is of Afro-Cuban and Dutch descent), this isn’t the sort of commanding star turn in which the performer vanishes behind a well-known celebrity mask, but rather a subdued, carefully considered portrait of a woman caught between premature grief and persistent hope.
Jolie plays Mariane as sharp and prickly, but also highly principled and completely devoted to her husband. Wisely, Winterbottom opts to shoot her more high-pitched outbursts from a distance or in near-darkness, as if refusing to milk more histrionics than necessary.
Occasional subdued flashbacks to happier days from Mariane and Danny’s marriage, including a very brief love scene, add emotional texture even as they take something away from the film’s otherwise unsentimental approach.
