Woody’s Family Settles in Spain
Woody Allen arrives in Barcelona, Spain on Monday, accompanied by wife Soon-Yi Previn and their daughters Bechet, 8, and Manzie, 7. (They carried and pulled their own luggage!)
Woody, 71, and Soon-Yi, 36, plans on staying in Spain for a few months to film his yet-to-be-titled summer film project starring Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson and Javier Bardem. The ‘Woody Allen Spanish Project’ is scheduled for a 2008 release.
Some background: Bechet was named after jazz clarinetist Sidney Bechet. Manzie was named after Manzie Johnson, a drummer with Bechet’s band.

Ew Milli, if he does I seriously think he should be banned from society. Who on earth would give someone who behaved the way he did a child? I know quite a few couples and even singles who would kill for an adoption to happen and would make fantastic parents, but financially they do not qualify. And yet because Allen has money he’s permitted to adopt. It just sucks.

In fact WA never adopted any of MF´s adopted and biological children from her marriage with Previn. WA is really highly regarded in Europe and some of his peers in the moviebusiness in US must like him too because he has won three AAs and been nominated 21 times; 14 as screenwriter. six as director and one as actor….Some of his films are really good imo. No wonder so many want to work with him, quite a lot of his actors and actresses have gotten nominations and awards when they worked with him!
I can of course understand MF´s fury too, but Allen (and MF) considered her for a role in Mighty Aphrodite, it was rumored that the casting director said no…. MF´s marriage with and divorce from Previn wasn´t exactly free from ugly moments and accusations! Perhaps she is a very complicated woman too!

Facts people, just the facts. Soon Yi was never Allen’s legally adopted daughter. Farrow and Previn adopted her. Farrow and Allen never married. Allen was extremely supportive of Farrow in both her personal and professional life, that’s all. I’m not saying the situation wasn’t hurtful for her but, legally and genetically, it wasn’t incestuous by a long shot. You don’t choose who you love.
Oh! One more thing. Johansen worked with Allen because he is genious and she made a great choice. Its the best role I’ve seen her play.

Folks, when people are accusing Woody Allen of being a child molester, they aren’t referring to the fact that he slept with Soon Yi when she was barely legal and he was for all intents and purposes acting as a father to her and her siblings and a husband to Mia. They are referring to the one child he did adopt with Mia, a white girl, something he was adamant the child had to be, that he molested on many occasions until Mia caught him, took him to court and put in place restraining orders so he couldn’t have contact with the child again. Then, he married Soon Yi. Yes, Previn is her adopted father and he was a part of her life, but Previn and Farrow divorced when Soon Yi was young and for the remainder of her childhood Allen was the “father” present in her life.
He’s a sick man, and I don’t see how being European makes one more tolerant of molesting small children. I hope someone is keeping an eye on those girls. It’s too bad he didn’t have sons.

Spikethecat is correct. The judge ruled that Woody behaved “inappropriately” with his adopted daughter Dylan and he was denied all visitation with her–he wasn’t even given supervised visitation. Also, the judge ruled that he was very disturbed by the fact that Woody could see no conflict for his children by Mia in the fact that he was sleeping with their sister. And whether or not he legally adopted Soon-Yi, the fact remains that he began dating Mia when Soon-Yi was a very young girl and he was a father figure to her. He’s a pervert plain and simple and I hope someone is watching out for these two daughters.

Allen was a FATHER FIGURE to those children that were not adopted by him. That is the issue. Of all the millions of women in the US who does he chose to run off with? It is quite amazing how one daughter looks like him and the other like her. No way of knowing what they would look like when they were adopted as babies except for basic race.

I think the issue here and the problem is much deeper than a mere legality.
The scenario is this:
Woody lived with a woman for years (MIa) had kids with her and was in teh presence of Mia’s adopted daughter.
He introduced himself to Soon Yi under a different circumstance - he was the adult in teh household. She was a child/teen. Even if years later, her adulthood allows you to marry her, why do it?
Of course, LEGALLY he can marry Soon Yi and did noting wrong but MORALLY? I hate the word moral cause it is to be defined by each individual but messing wit a relationship you had with a child once that child becomes and adult is almost as bad as being in a relationship with that child during childhood.
Now Soon Yi has to rewrite and rethink her entire teenage years. The man who was her mother’s boyfriend and her brother’s father is now her husband! WHy complicate things?
Why could he not find any other woman but the daughter of his ex wife? There are millions of women on earth!
ALSO, Soon Yi is not exactly the most attractive womn in the world - as a matter of fact, she is quite unattractive. So what is it?
Soon Yi is as responsible too since she consented to this as an adult (I mean I hope he was not doing anything to her before she reached adulthood).

You know what I think is weird is that Woody and Soon-Yi aren’t anywhere close to one another. What makes those things wrong and this whole mess or a relationship right? Mia was wrong in a lot of what she did too because she had no business being a single woman with all of those kids trying to establish a relationship for herself-You have to give your kids time, teaching and support and let them know what they mean to you and make sure they can survive before trying to let a man into yourlfe-this sounds “preachy” I know, but honestly, do some of you not agree? Starting around 1980, Allen began a 12-year relationship with actress Mia Farrow, who had leading roles in several of his movies from 1982 to 1992.

How does someone his age get to adopt kids? When the relationship started with Soon-Yi she was not 22 but when she was a teenager. Woody says it started when she was 17 and they started going to basketball games together. The nude pictures Mia found was taken when Soon-Yi was 12. Mia and Woody did adopt other children together as well as have a biological child. None of his children with Mia want anything to do with him. Moses said in court documents that he didn’t understand how his father thought it was okay to hook up with his sister and said he wanted nothing to do with him.
Both of his daughters with Soon-Yi are adopted so I don’t know how anyone can remember her being pregnant.
If you check out court records and other reputable sites not Wikipedia which is written by the public then you will be able to find out the correct information.
IMO Soon-Yi is ugly and has to hold on to her old man because everyone else has cut ties with her and he’s all she has.
I liked Woody’s earlier movies but his new stuff is crap. As for people still working with him, people in Hollywood will sell their souls to be successful. None of his movies open to big numbers the fact that he is still around is due to his earlier success and nostalgia.
