Woody’s Family Settles in Spain

Facts people, just the facts. Soon Yi was never Allen’s legally adopted daughter. Farrow and Previn adopted her. Farrow and Allen never married. Allen was extremely supportive of Farrow in both her personal and professional life, that’s all. I’m not saying the situation wasn’t hurtful for her but, legally and genetically, it wasn’t incestuous by a long shot. You don’t choose who you love.

Oh! One more thing. Johansen worked with Allen because he is genious and she made a great choice. Its the best role I’ve seen her play.

Folks, when people are accusing Woody Allen of being a child molester, they aren’t referring to the fact that he slept with Soon Yi when she was barely legal and he was for all intents and purposes acting as a father to her and her siblings and a husband to Mia. They are referring to the one child he did adopt with Mia, a white girl, something he was adamant the child had to be, that he molested on many occasions until Mia caught him, took him to court and put in place restraining orders so he couldn’t have contact with the child again. Then, he married Soon Yi. Yes, Previn is her adopted father and he was a part of her life, but Previn and Farrow divorced when Soon Yi was young and for the remainder of her childhood Allen was the “father” present in her life.

He’s a sick man, and I don’t see how being European makes one more tolerant of molesting small children. I hope someone is keeping an eye on those girls. It’s too bad he didn’t have sons.

**** mia farrow…Woody made some of the greatest films (Annie Hall, Hannah and Her Sisters, Interiors, etc.) plus, Match Point was amazing. all you ingnorent people can go to hell…he’s a legend.

They are not a Hollywood couple. They live in NY. He plays in a Jazz band in NY and is at the NY Knicks home games. Allen has never really been respected by Hollywood. He had a few cronies that lapped up anything he dished out, but they ahve long disappeared. He was always a neurotic outsider and now he’s literally in social siberia. Allen was a FATHER FIGURE to those children that were not adopted by him. That is the issue. Of all the millions of women in the US who does he chose to run off with? A young woman who he has known since she was a child. When you think about the type of man woody allen has shown to be over the years, this arrangement is pure Woody Allen. It’s like one of his neurotic films.

Do you people even do any research before accusing someone as a child molester? Soon-Yi was never his adopted daughter. In fact, he was never married to Mia Farrow. She was Mia’s adopted daughter with her previous husband.

I think the issue here and the problem is much deeper than a mere legality.

The scenario is this:

Woody lived with a woman for years (MIa) had kids with her and was in teh presence of Mia’s adopted daughter.

He introduced himself to Soon Yi under a different circumstance - he was the adult in teh household. She was a child/teen. Even if years later, her adulthood allows you to marry her, why do it?

Of course, LEGALLY he can marry Soon Yi and did noting wrong but MORALLY? I hate the word moral cause it is to be defined by each individual but messing wit a relationship you had with a child once that child becomes and adult is almost as bad as being in a relationship with that child during childhood.

Now Soon Yi has to rewrite and rethink her entire teenage years. The man who was her mother’s boyfriend and her brother’s father is now her husband! WHy complicate things?

Why could he not find any other woman but the daughter of his ex wife? There are millions of women on earth!

ALSO, Soon Yi is not exactly the most attractive womn in the world - as a matter of fact, she is quite unattractive. So what is it?

Soon Yi is as responsible too since she consented to this as an adult (I mean I hope he was not doing anything to her before she reached adulthood).

The whole think is creepy.

Yes we can all date and marry whomever we want if it is legal - but legal does not always mean moral.

I think Woody Allen is missing a great deal of a moral compass.

I boycotted his films since the Soon Yi thing. I tink it sucks.

People who say he’s the worst film-maker or something are just ignorant. Period.

One can be a digusting person and an outstanding artist and vice versa.

I don’t approve of what he did but I don’t think he’s a child molester. Soon-Yi wasn’t HIS adopted daughter, he wasn’t even married to Mia Farrow. They were just living together. And Soon-Yi was legal, I think. (Omg, she’s 36 already?) Still it was a creepy situation.

technically everyone:
1. Soon Yi is the adopted daughter of Andre Previn, not Woody Allen.
2. she was 22 years old when she was having her affair with him…not exactly a child which therefore does not make him a child molester. He was “accused” by Farrow of having molested another of her adopted children but it was never proven.
3. Soon Yi and Allen’s two children are adopted.
Get your facts correct before making a judgment.

I hope he’s not going to marry one of the adopted girls….Another weird family…some shouldn’t be allowed to adopt just because they have money.
