OlderAngelina Jolie: Pimp My Picture, Not My Life!

Angelina Jolie tried to keep things focused during Wednesday night’s NY premiere of A Mighty Heart. Media outlets were required to sign contracts before talking to Jolie (as drawn up by her Hollywood lawyer Robert Offer).
Here were the contract terms for interviewing:
- No questions regarding her personal relationships
- In the event Interviewer does ask Ms. Jolie any questions regarding her personal relationships, Ms. Jolie will have the right to immediately terminate the interview and leave
- The interview may only be used to promote the Picture. In no event may Interviewer or Media Outlet be entitled to run all or any portion of the interview in connection with any other story
- The interview will not be used in a manner that is disparaging, demeaning, or derogatory to Ms. Jolie
- The tape of the interview will not be released to Interviewer if any of the aforementioned things happened
One reporter from a major outlet said, “I wouldn’t sign it. Who does she think she is?”
FOX News reports that USA Today, the Associated Press and other media outlets canceled their interviews with Jolie. When she heard the reaction, Jolie scrapped all print interviews.

this story is not important,i didnot see it on the news networks i watched,therefore is not important,this is not the first time we had the hating,we donot expect the movie to be breaking box office numbers,it is not a big budget movie,bampzs lets just go watch.angie only banned the gossip networks.
And, I have to give mad props to Jared for posting this. He’s accused of being one sided for his favorites, but this is proof he’s a journalist….freedom of the press.

Reporters Without Borders.. meaning reporters who risk their lives to report the truth..not Faux News or connected, closeted Billy Bush who asks celebrities the most asinine questions imaginable.. there is a difference people.. lets get real.
They wanted this to be about real journalists and the movie.. that excludes Life&Style, InTouch, National Inquirer, ect… those people are an insult to real journalists.
And I saw Access Hollywood video clip ..she was very sweet and cordial and anwered some personal questions until they got too when she would be adopting next and she immed ended the interview politely but abruptly and moved on.

Truly a sad day, what would been a great story has now been overshadowed by the frenzy that follows her. Any other producer would of passed on her due to the fact that she is not alwys good for biz.

If anything, this non-story blown way out of proportion will intrigue people to see the movie. BP and AJ are media savvy. Instead of reporters getting a sound bite about their personal lives, attributing quotes AJ said about herself and applying it to other celebrities, the table has been turned and journalists are now the story. The issue becomes tabloid journalism versus media that is out for the truth and un-bias reporting. The sad fact is that mainstream media has crossed the line and has started printing tabloid lies and rumors as facts. I admire BP and AJ. They got my support and I will see “A Mighty Heart”.

Sad isn’t it… that on the day the movie about DP (a reporter who’s quest to find the truth led to his death) is screened, these other so called “reporters” throw a hissy fit over what they perceive as them being done wrong. How much more self-centered can they be? You’d think they’ll use this opportunitty to celebrate the life of someone who stood for good journalism, instead they whine and moan because AJ won’t let them ask questions about what side of the bed she sleeps on.

#100: probably as backwards as France since the press con there was all about Brangelina even though Marianne was there in front of them. They almost made her out as the invisible woman. The movie became secondary.
I guess the JP’s didn’t want that happening again hence the contract. Didn’t they get criticized for making it all about them when it was the reporters who wouldn’t leave well enough alone with the personal questions? One reporter said as how it was even embarrassing that a woman jumped up to kiss Brad.
I watch fox news. I prefer them over the other news sources. I am a Brad/Angelina fan. What news you watch has nothing to do with whether you like Brad/Angelina. There have been negative Brad/Angelina stuff on CNN, MSNBC, etc. There have been positive stuff. People at this blog complain about how Brad/Angelina are treated on Showbiz today on CNN all of the time. There are good, bad and in bewtween journalist on CNN, NBC,CBS, fox, etc.
I don’t see anything wrong with her requests. She is at a premiere to promote her movie, a serious subject with a story of great importance. She wants the focus on the movie…not HER. I think that is very selfless and mature. She’s given enough insight into her personal life through other magazines…she doesn’t need to spill anymore. It is her life, and she should have control over what she should have to say.
I say good for her.

to the reporters who didn’t sign the contract, shows what type of stories they’re into. they’re not journalists, they’re just of people who gossip and who wants to spread it. they’re no different from the lainey and perez hiltons of today.

The trouble with the so-called ‘free press’ all over the western world is that they actually believe their own hype. They actually believe that they are indeed kingmakers. LOL.
Because they have become more and more outrageous with their freedom to thrash whomever they want, misrepresent what people actually say, and create whole cloths out of their own fabrications about people’s lives, they probably thought that the consuming public had remained dumb and ignorant about these tactics.
Cellular, internet and computer technologies are creating whole new worlds and the media ‘king makers’ are being hoisted with their own petard. The laugh is on them.
I would have had less respect for Angie had she gave press interviews and talked about her family-This movie is different than any other. She owed the Pearls the utmost respect in how she conducted herself and what she said. What I find intriguing is the press backed out. I would have loved to have heard questions asked about Daniel and his zest for journalism. Wow, they missed the boat. The reporters are journalist (some of them) or at least they are in the media business, with that said, how would they feel if their wives had to go through with what Marianne had to go through. This was not the time to talk about kids and brad. Oceans 13 was Brad’s movie-it was in a different setting. What if after the premier of AMH, Brad would have pounced on her in a limo? Most ppl would be outraged and yell “it was distasteful” Correct me if I am wrong, but did she talk about her kids in the screening of AMH in Cannes? If so, maybe she was told it was offensive, if not, she is just following the same script. Besides, what else is there to know about her personal life? She and Brad have given us more than they had to. Besides that, do you think that there are any american soldiers who have been killed today. Any of there moms crying today-how about their kids. What in God’s name are they gonna do for father’s day, especially if their dad has been killed in IRAQ!

Fox news has plenty of reporters out in the field risking their lives to cover events around the world. They also have people who cover the soft news and entertsainment just like CNN and other places have. I don’t agree with all of these people . The reality is that the days of 100% ACCURATE UNBIASED news is over. There is not a single news outlet that comes closed to being unbiased most of the time. I prefer FOX because i am pro military/military personell esp and a Moderate. I ignore the far right . The far left I ignore as well and try to avoid because they make my skin crawl.

The operative word here is REPORTERS and from where I sit, to call the people who regurgitate lies (like Fox News, to call them reporters is an insult to good reporters everywhere.
What is ironic is that Fox, with its history of telling lies, reporting half truths, no fact checking and all around disregard for ethical standards and behavior, is in a snit over this.
I think the contract thing is not new, it’s just this time Faux-News want to make a big deal about it, just to diss B&A again. I was kind of surprised last week to keep seeing posts about this guy working for Faux-News reviewing AMH. I kind of smelled something fishy, but didn’t pay much attention to it. He was just like a cat eyeing the canary, and wait for the right time to jump on it. I should have followed my instinct and blow the whistle right then.
I am really glad B&A insisted on focusing on the movie, instead of wasting their time answering shallow, stupid questions.
