Angelina Jolie: Pimp My Picture, Not My Life!
Angelina Jolie tried to keep things focused during Wednesday night’s NY premiere of A Mighty Heart. Media outlets were required to sign contracts before talking to Jolie (as drawn up by her Hollywood lawyer Robert Offer).
Here were the contract terms for interviewing:
- No questions regarding her personal relationships
- In the event Interviewer does ask Ms. Jolie any questions regarding her personal relationships, Ms. Jolie will have the right to immediately terminate the interview and leave
- The interview may only be used to promote the Picture. In no event may Interviewer or Media Outlet be entitled to run all or any portion of the interview in connection with any other story
- The interview will not be used in a manner that is disparaging, demeaning, or derogatory to Ms. Jolie
- The tape of the interview will not be released to Interviewer if any of the aforementioned things happened
One reporter from a major outlet said, “I wouldn’t sign it. Who does she think she is?”
FOX News reports that USA Today, the Associated Press and other media outlets canceled their interviews with Jolie. When she heard the reaction, Jolie scrapped all print interviews.

You go Angie! Bring back real journalist. The media has lost it’s focus. Everyone wants celeberties to let them into every aspect of there lives so they can criticize. We all know no matter what Angie say they will try to make it negative. The woman is human like everyone else. Those two are in love and living their lives—-live and let live, damn.

Lainey has her own take on the whole fox thing saying that brad is the more media savvy of the two and that maybe he was more behind this then angie and she says as usual brad gets a free pass and angie takes all the blame.

Doesn’t anyone find it slightly ironic that while she’s publicizing a film about an incredibly brave journalist, she would seek to put limits on journalists and have them enter into a contract that could make them subject to lawsuits? And for those of you who suggest the press should stay away from her “private life”, do you honestly believe that the army of publicists that she and Brad Pitt employ don’t scheme with “Angie” and “Brad” every day to pimp their “private” lives for the benefit of their celebrity? I love Angelina as much as the next person, but I do see the irony that A Mighty Heart is supposedly pushing freedom of the press while Angelina makes a point to do the opposite. Also why couldn’t she just not answer if someone asked her a question she didn’t like? It’s almost like she’s drawing more attention to her private life…

This probably explains the serious faces of Brad and Angelina at the after party. Some of the reporters there were probably from the tabs and the contract was intended to curtail their penchant for smut and smears. However, it was the major publications that got insulted. Can’t win ‘em all. Cest la vie. Hope this blows away soon.
