Angelina Jolie: Pimp My Picture, Not My Life!

Last night was not a two hour sit down interview. She was asked a couple of questions by some reporters and she was there to promote her film, so ofcourse she didnt want to discuss her personal life. If she allowed those questions to be asked, thats pretty much all people would ask. And realy, how on earth do you think that would not only make her and Brad feel, but more importantly Marianne Pearl? This was realy Marianne’s night, not a night with another chance to ask the couple about their children, again. For some reason the world is obsessed with celebrities private lives and especially the children, and thats what sells. And these reporters care more about that then a real woman with real feelings who lost her husband in the most gruesome and cruelest way possible. How very sad.

All of the news outlets are guilty of engaging in the same stuff that fox news haters are dissing Fox over. I quit watching CNN 4-5 years ago for those reasons. Like I said the days of unbiased accurate news without any agenda are long gone. It would only take one hand IMO to count the number of great journalist esp on TV or major newspapers today. That is sad.

it’s sad that the press, the one so called legitimate, are more willing to back out of an interview where the focus is on a journalist who was murdered, than to stay because an actress will not discuss about her personal life.

I would have had less respect for Angie had she gave press interviews and talked about her family-This movie is different than any other. She owed the Pearls the utmost respect in how she conducted herself and what she said. What I find intriguing is the press backed out. I would have loved to have heard questions asked about Daniel and his zest for journalism. Wow, they missed the boat. The reporters are journalist (some of them) or at least they are in the media business, with that said, how would they feel if their wives had to go through with what Marianne had to go through. This was not the time to talk about kids and brad. Oceans 13 was Brad’s movie-it was in a different setting. What if after the premier of AMH, Brad would have pounced on her in a limo? Most ppl would be outraged and yell “it was distasteful” Correct me if I am wrong, but did she talk about her kids in the screening of AMH in Cannes? If so, maybe she was told it was offensive, if not, she is just following the same script. Besides, what else is there to know about her personal life? She and Brad have given us more than they had to. Besides that, do you think that there are any american soldiers who have been killed today. Any of there moms crying today-how about their kids. What in God’s name are they gonna do for father’s day, especially if their dad has been killed in IRAQ!

Great post Malibumom. That “reporter” from Faux-News is not doing Daniel Pearl any favor by focusing on the wrong thing. Any person with an iota of common sense could see that B&A are not restricting freedom of the press, they just want them to focus on the right subject, not B&A’s private life.

I don’t blame AJ at all. AMH is important and she wants the focus to stay on the film. Besides
people twist her words anyway. JJ it would be great if you can interview her.Maybe someday?

Chez, no offense to you or Jen, but the day jennifer Aniston befriends a woman like Marianne Pearl and does a movie about her husband being brutally murdered, let me know. In fact, if David Arq. was brutally murdered and Jen played courtney in a movie about that, I don’t think in a million years, Jen would talk about her private life at the screening of the movie. I don’t see the press writing bad things about Jen, I see an overexposure of a syrupy sweet image that I am supposed to swallow but I gag instead because I am intelligent enough to know the difference between sugar and Shytt!

Hello! Celebs do this all the time, why when it comes to her she’s being “full of herself”. Please. I think Jolie is learning the hard lesson of keeping her mouth shut, especially to the printed press because a lot of her quotes get misconstrued. She gave them tons of material already to naw over for months . . . do they honestly need more?

I thought that was pretty standard as far as having interviewers sign things about what you will and won’t discuss. I remember hearing a lot of other A-list celebs doing it. I mean, the President does it all the time for EVERYTHING. What’s the big deal?

I’m sure it was to keep focus on the true meaning of the movie. It’s easy to overlook when star power of their magnitude do a project together.

Hmmmmm. Angie tried to force them to sign this contract,why? She spills everything about her private life anyway so what is she scared of? There is nothing they could have asked that we don’t already know the answers to, she has pretty much told the world everything already anyway. She didn’t try to “force” them to sign anything. They had the option not to and when they wouldn’t she walked away and did no interviews at all. If I were her I’d take it as a signal that the media only wants to use her personal life to sell their product.

I personally feel the request unnecessary, but then again I haven’t spent the last two years with @ssholes with cameras and bad attitudes parked outside my door and didn’t even have common courtesy to back off when a parent died. At this point if Angie refuses to answer personal questions ever again, then the media only have themselves to blame. Alls she asked was ONE interview without personal questions or using her comments to spin a negative story. The fact that the request took place at an event for Reporters Without Border IS ironic, but not in the way you mean. It’s ironic that people who dodge bullets in an effort to write stories about wars, terrorism, etc. are shoved aside because their bosses are more intersted in the personal life of an actress than in the story of one of their own who died in the line of duty.

The woman is an actress. So focus on her acting. Acting is her job so ask questions about her “job” NOT her personal life. those of you on here spouting off in outrage GET THE “F” OVER IT!!! You d*mn well if your coworkers started gossiping about you and only wanted to talk to you regarding your “personal” life you would have a freakin’ fit! You would have the right to set the tone of the conversation and would probably say “none of your godd*mn business. So why can’t she say the same.

If these so-called journalist really cared about the movie then this wouldn’t be a problem. So why are they whinning? Who does she think she is? She’s the one calling the shots thats who. And trust me…this will have no affect on her what-so-ever. They whined and screwed everybody, so now no one can get a print interview. They’ll always come crawling back. You think for one instant that if she says to them “hey I’ll talk to you.” These same whinning a$$ reporters won’t be running over themselves to get the interview? These same reporters are probably wishing they’d kept their freakin’ mouths shut now, because the lady never forgets.

How many other celebrities draw up the same clauses? John T., Tom C, Elizabeth T, Julia R,Denzel W., George C., etc. They ALL have certain clauses in ALL of their interviews. Reporters can’t just ask them anything and they make sure they don’t even try. But because its her, there’s a problem. like she’s the only celebrity to say “I’m not talking about my personal life.” especially when the forum is in regards to a movie such as this.

So again, who is she? She’s Angelina “at the top of her game” Jolie and she’s the Grand B*tch in charge and she says:

and if you can’t abide by that, well than “toodles”!

If you wanna read about her personal life, go and grab an ‘Esquire’ mag, or Marie Claire. Knock yourself out. That’s what “those” interviews were for.

Put yourself in their shoes for a minute. How would you like to be followed constantly when you stepped outside or went to the store? I would do what I could to have some control over my life. Don’t believe everything you hear, remember it’s the media.

Let’s see if you can understand this. There is nothing new in their private lives that hasn’t already been talked to death. The two of them have had a few openings in the past month yes? JOURNALISTS - you know those professionals who actually do the research, not quote unsourced gossip - should be more than happy that they wanted the focus to be on the movie and Daniel and Marianne. Anyone who wouldn’t sign the waiver obviously had “gossip” on their minds, not the movie anyway.
