The premiere and after-party were thrown for Reporters Without Borders, an international group that protects the rights of journalists and photographers. A Mighty Heart is based on a book written by Marianne Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.

Other pictures include Brad & Angie graciously signing autographs for fans during the film’s premiere.

Where are the reviews for the movie from the premiere, that’s what we should focus on.

piper, with a low @ 06/14/2007 at 10:51 am

I hope we aren’t subjected to reprimands for discussing this topic. For once, this is an interesting, multilayered issue.

Something just came to me… remember the Cannes press conference when a journalist stood up, introduced himself to Mariane, and promptly apologized to her for asking whether she watched Daniel’s beheading? Although I construed it as his making himself a part of the story, but at least, for once, a journalist took responsibility for crossing a line.

IMO this is not that big a deal. It seems on Fox is overreacting. They love to whine. No other media is whining like them. Because they know how the game is played.

I bet John Stewart makes fun of this tonight.

448 liar that what you are dreaming of

436 Mr and Mrs Smith

What they got married?? When??

Funny, her big mouth got her in trouble I see. She was totally loving all the interviews and mag covers to reveal her personal life but I bet BP put his foot down and said this is about the film .. so when she did that BACKLASH. Their constant difference of handling their personal life will always be an issue, they better get on the same page or else!

PS. That tramp stamp under her hairline is pretty funny, know your rights .. isnt one of them freedom of speech?

Shame, shame @ 06/14/2007 at 10:54 am

It took brad, angelina and paramount almost 6 months to get pass the incidents in india and the whole white actress playing a black one. Now, today ALL blogs and news are talking about the fox incident. One more time the movie gets forgottten. Thank you angelina.

I’m happy that usa today and AP didn’t agree to sing the contract either.

Good Morning BAMPZS FANS,

I woke up this morning with my local fox channel in Los Angeles calling Angie an hypocrite because according to them, she tried to ban all fox affiliates from the preimere last night.

I had to send them an email because they’re the same fools who report the weekly tablies as fact each week. And the weather woman declares her love for a certain X each day….the same woman who’s baby shower was hosted by Kim Kardasian. The same weather woman who Snoop Dog told all of LA that he was sleeping with her and he’s married.

I don’t post much but I am soooo pissed for words.

To voice your opinion, http://www.myfoxla.com and select Good Day Los Angeles.

Or we could just divert those funds to something of more importance…getting YOU a brain before your empty head falls off from lack of support…WOW!

That tatoo is exactly the reason we know she is not the kind of person that you think she is.

According to the haters, no media outlet wanted to sign the contract, but they were all there to take pictures. Interesting that they are so interested.

Funny when people bring up freedom of speech it seems only Fox has that freedom not AJ. Fox has the right to say whatever they want to say and they are and they have been but in turn AJ has the right the same right to talk to who ever she wants to under whatever terms she deems necessary. Fox has the right to except those terms or not. See how that works AJ actually has freedom of speech also and she actually exercised it.

lurker opinion @ 06/14/2007 at 11:02 am

This is NOT about Freedom of Speech. Fox can write or say anything it wants. As we can all read. Angelina has the right to say I will only do this if you follow these rules. Then the media either says no and walks away or agrees. Simple as that.

My question to you is, why do you watch a channel that you seem to dislike so much? It’s not like there is no other ones out there. I never watch Fox.

I get the don’t ask personal questions part BUT she can’t tell a reporter that if they want to get an interview with her they HAVE to write ONLY positive things about her. I’m happy she’s getting bashed.

question... @ 06/14/2007 at 11:07 am

I have a question tho… I dunno what the rules between artists and reporters in the showbizz are, but are they obligated to answer reporters’ personal questions?
Is there a way that Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, GC can tell them to f*ck off whenever the personal questions come up? Can they tell the papz to mind their own business or something like ”no comment. next please.” Is this possible? I’ve never seen any of them saying that. They are always nice . It’s as if they’re scared of the reporters, they’re scared the papz will say bad things about them. Don’t anyone agree on that one?
I’d really like to see someone like Angelina or Brad Pitt to do this some day because the press is getting really ridiculous with their banal personal questions.
please answer my questions. Thank you.

Ntt,

I guess I need your permission on what to watch. But since you asked, my husband is a big fan of the morning show.

I’ve always liked your post so I will not hold this against you.

I am fan of JJ and Bampzs so there’s need to question my loyality. I’ve been lurking for two years and will continue no matter what.

Where exactly did she say that? Really where? She said to stay on the topic at hand, the movie and the interview could only be used to promote the movie. The reporter can say whatever they want to say about her, her life, her children but the can’t use the interview to help them do that. What part of that don’t you get?

Showbiz tonight airs on CNN which is a liberal biased news station apparently disses Brad/Angelina a lot given the complaints I read here. Roger friedman from Fox complimented them/the movie with his Cannes coverage. Bill Oreilly a few weeks back made positive comments. IMO we should keep politics out of this. It seems to me that there have been praises and criticism from both sides depending on individual persons/shows not politics.

I think they both look great.

The interview will not be used in a manner that is disparaging, demeaning, or derogatory to Ms. Jolie.”

Oh How I despise Fox News. I actually have it blocked on my cable so I never even have to see a glimpse of it. BLISS.

Thank you All for your very supportive, Informative and thoughtful posts.

About namibia and dictatorships:

Namibia

Country Reports on Human Rights Practices - 2005
Released by the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor
March 8, 2006

Namibia is a multiparty, multiracial democracy with a population of 2,030,000. On March 21, Hifikepunye Pohamba became the country’s second democratically elected president; Pohamba was elected in November 2004 and replaced Sam Nujoma, the country’s first president and leader of the ruling South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO). International and domestic observers agreed the 2004 general elections, in which SWAPO won three-quarters of national assembly seats, were generally free and reflected the will of the electorate despite some irregularities. The civilian authorities generally maintained effective control of the security forces.

The government generally respected the human rights of its citizens; however, there were problems in several areas. An extreme disparity in income levels of black citizens and white citizens and high unemployment in the black majority continued to pose serious challenges. The following human rights problems were reported:

security force use of excessive force during arrests and detentions, which resulted in deaths and injuries
arbitrary arrest, lengthy pretrial detention, and lengthy delays during trials
government attempts to curb media and nongovernmental (NGO) criticism
violence against women and children, including rape and child abuse
discrimination against women, ethnic minorities, and indigenous people
child labor
During the year local human rights groups noted fewer restrictions on the media and a decrease in abuses committed by security forces. The government also took steps to curb corruption.

let's hug it out @ 06/14/2007 at 11:22 am

Usa Today was going to publish a big interview about last night premiere, big one. After the mess Roger did at the event they decided to skip it and only publish a small blurb on the entretaiment section.

Roger got really worked up about freedom of speech last night, expect Bill O’really to give a big negative coverage tonight.

Brad Grey was very upset by the whole thing. He wasn’t expecting most of the reporters to side with fox.

Seriously, does anyone with a brain care what Fox or USA Today has to say? They’re both a joke as far as journalism is concerned. “Fair and balanced” my ass.

Oops, it should say the US Department of State.

I’ll wait to see the rest of the newspapers report on Angelina’s alleged gag on Fox news.
