Brad & Angelina - “A Mighty Heart” After Party
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie attend the A Mighty Heart premiere after-party at NYC’s The Metropolitan Club on Wednesday night.
The premiere and after-party were thrown for Reporters Without Borders, an international group that protects the rights of journalists and photographers. A Mighty Heart is based on a book written by Marianne Pearl, the widow of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.
Other pictures include Brad & Angie graciously signing autographs for fans during the film’s premiere.

‘If a wicked person brings you some news, investigate it’ (Al-Hujurat: 6).
Usually a person hears truth and lies, so if he speaks of everything that he hears, he is lying by telling of things that did not happen, and lying by speaking of something other than the way it happened; and he does not have to do that deliberately (in order to be regarded as telling lies.

If Fox is really after principle, they should have decline to participate altogether. But of course they didn’t. They want to be there to sniff out some smut.
==========================================
And that is why I said they had less than honorable intentions from the get go!
btw I don’t know if they attended or not. We all know that trolls love to lie.

Kudos for Paramount vantage for taking the high road and giving notice to all that this important film should be the film. No tabloid stuff. Those who refused to agree were not doing it on principle but because they all know they wanted to ask Angelina what it’s like to kiss Brad Pitt. If that quote from the rep from Doctors without Broders is true, then he’s an idiot. The paparassi are not considered press. Only credentialed photographers with completed background checks are press. These people should be allowed to do their job. Does Reporter Without Borders mean reporters who act without boundaries including breaking into people’s homes, running people over for a story, stealing, peeping onto children’s school and schoolgrounds, then down with that organization.
Paparazzi have no business trying to take business from legit photojournalists. Do you all know what Paparazzi means in Italian? This phrase was deveeloped during the Hollywood Italian heyday with the whole la Dloce Vita era of film with director Fellini. It means annoying little buzzing bugs. How could a legit reporter consider himself like one? Amazing!
====================
Great post, Frenchy. I noticed they put the word “paparazzi” in the guy’s mouth too. I doubt that as the head of Reporters Without Borders, he would use the word “paparazzi” to talk about his colleagues.

I can’t find any photos with Brad’s mum? There is one of an older woman standing with the crowd behind the safety barricade but that’s not his mum, she wouldn’t be standing with the crowd she’d be with the VIPs

Here you go. Enlargen the pic to make it clearer. She’s watching Angie sign autographs.

You people are so fanatics that you only see what you want to see. That woman IS NOT Brad’s mother. Just because a fan said that Brad’s mom was there and that the woman taking picture is her, doesn’t make that the truth. Not every blonde mother figure woman is Brad’s mom. But again, you just see what you want to see.
And, if in fact it is her, a mother does whatever has to be done for her family. Even if that means embracing Angelina in your family. I’m sure that if she does it it’s because of Brad and the kids. Not because she loves a homewrecker.
You people are so fanatics that you only see what you want to see.
From Lainey:
Worthy to note however – spoke to a source this morning about the issue who told me that what’s laughable about wrangling and the maneuvering, as easy as it is to lay it on Angelina as a control freak, is that people very much underestimate Brad Pitt. Rumour has it, the Pitts themselves refer to it as the “misogyny of our society” in that he is constantly portrayed as the abandoned spouse left to look after the babes as she schemes to keep her enemies at a distance - ridiculous because it’s always been Brad who has been the media engineer, and prior to their hook up, Angelina Jolie’s approach was always, always easy access, open door, no publicists, and candid answers no matter how controversial. In observing their public portrayal however, especially when critics are circling hungrily, Brad always gets an easy pass and the blame always falls to Angelina.
Full of **** or something to consider?

Freedom of speech MY A$$s. freedom of speech does NOT mean that people’s honor and dignity should be transgressed upon.

Thank you for posting it again. I saw it last night but couldn’t find it today/ That is so cute.
Those photos do clearly show that Brad’s Mom was at the premeire. AH confirmed it as well.
It’s a little unclear how Mariane Pearl, whom Jolie plays in “A Mighty Heart,” feels about her portrayer’s position on freedom of press for some, but not all. Yesterday, I spoke to Jeff Julliard, the editorial director of Reporters without Borders in Paris.
“Paparazzi should be allowed to do their job,” he said, adding that he condemned Jolie’s banning of FOX News and actions taken on her behalf in Namibia.
=========================
That was part of that Fox news article regarding the editorial director of RWB. He called legitimate reporters who risk their lives to cover news in dangerous places, “paparazzi”? Well, I am sure his fellow “paparazzi” will be really flattered by that appellation.
‘Mighty’ Good? Review of New Angelina Jolie Movie About Daniel Pearl
Published: June 14, 2007 10:45 AM ET
NEW YORK The long-awaited movie about slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, starring Angelina Jolie, will be opening this month. Ray Bennett, of E&P’s sister publication, The Hollywood Reporter, attended a screening at the Cannes Film Festival recently, and filed the following review.
*
Mchael Winterbottom’s expertly fashioned documentary-style drama “A Mighty Heart” relates the intense manhunt launched in Pakistan when jihadists kidnapped Wall Street Journalist Daniel Pearl in 2002. Angelina Jolie delivers a well-measured and moving performance as the reporter’s wife, Mariane.
With the BBC’s Gaza correspondent Alan Johnston now missing and believed kidnapped for 70 days and journalists in danger in hotspots around the world, a film version of Mariane Pearl’s book about the search for her husband could not be more timely.
Set for release in the U.S. in June and the rest of the world in September, the film’s even-handed approach to incendiary topics should generate substantial interest.
Jolie’s voice-over sets the scene as the movie begins in Karachi, a vast, sprawling city where her husband went missing. He was on assignment to meet a man who could tell him more about Richard Reid, the captured shoe bomber. The events of Sept. 11 were not long past, and the situation was made difficult by the Wall Street Journal going public with the fact that it had turned over a suspicious computer to the CIA.
The film traces Pearl’s movements on the night he was kidnapped, with him being warned several times to meet his contact only in public. His trail died when a taxi dropped him off at a restaurant. When he fails to return to the place where he and his wife, who is pregnant with their first child, are staying, she calls in the authorities. Senior people from the newspaper including John Bussey (Denis O’Hare) and Steve LeVine (Gary Wilmes) drop everything to help in the hunt headquartered at the home of the Pearl’s friend, writer Asra (Archie Panjabi). U.S. diplomatic security specialist Randall Bennett (Will Patton) and representatives of assorted American agencies join the team that is led by the head of the Pakistani counter-terrorism unit who is known as Captain (Irrfan Khan).
The news breaks internationally, and various parties claim that Pearl is with the CIA or Mossad, which complicates things. One Pakistani government member dismisses it as a crime by India. Winterbottom shows the painstaking steps taken to link one mobile phone caller to the next and efforts to track down a single Internet provider that is used to send e-mails about the kidnapping. Marcel Zyskind’s cinematography captures the frantic bustle of the over-populated city as agents swarm into tenements to arrest suspects.
The film alarmingly implies that torture works when one suspect reveals names under duress and watching the no-holds-barred approach of the Pakistani authorities on a raid, the American Bennett declares, “I love this town!”
For the most part, however, the film reflects the dispassionate view espoused by Mariane Pearl, who sees that it is misery that breeds terrorism. Jolie plays her with respect and a firm grasp on a difficult accent influenced by France and Cuba. She has a powerful scene in which she lets out a shriek of grief that will be recognized wherever people suffer from terror and loss.

Pitt Porn in NYC
Well…not quite. His mother was there – good to know even the horny Pitts have a sense of propriety around the parents, which accounts for the limited ass holding last night at the NYC premiere of A Mighty Heart. I’m told Mrs Pitt seemed very fond of the mother of her grandchildren, was joined by Brad’s sister and Angelina’s brother and all seemed surprisingly familial given tabloid reports of family estrangement after Aniston.
As for Angelina’s dress – everyone is losing their **** because it was $26 purchased from a vintage shoppe in LA: chic on a budget paired with crystal Louboutins. Whatever. Kinda underwhelming if you ask me, but this is Angelina Jolie… it’s not like it’s ever bad, you know what I mean?
Stilll…as much as I’m a fan of Family Pitt Jungle Sex, I have also been a huge admirer of the way they sell it. Savvy spin like no one else in the business, a press machine helmed by two of the hottest, most intriguing stars in recent memory. Most of the time they succeed beautifully. On occasion…not so much.
Cut to last night, Pitt publicity gone awry, at least according to Fox News – not the most unbiased source, mind you, but nonetheless, Roger Friedman the entertainment editor has had a few greatest hits, namely his audacious challenge to the GMD, the RoboBride, and the sinister Church, and unfortunately for Team Pitt, this time he’s chosen to expose the Pitt press machine in a scathing article about Angelina’s hypocrisy towards the media.
Last night’s premiere of A Mighty Heart – as you know a film about Mariane Pearl coping with the kidnapping and subsequent murder of her husband and Wall Street Journal Reporter Daniel Pearl – was meant to raise awareness for an organisation called Reporters Without Borders. During the junket however, Angelina’s lawyer apparently required all journalists to sign contracts prohibiting them not only from asking personal questions but also from writing about the interview “in a manner that is disparaging, demeaning, or derogatory to Ms. Jolie.”
WTF???
Needless to say, the AP and USA Today took off, incensed at the censorship attempt and entirely unimpressed that a Hollywood movie star hawking a movie about journalistic liberties had the temerity to dictate orders to the press. Hard to argue with that…and trust me, I’ve been in a junket situation, I’ve been on the red carpet. Most of time, a publicist will just come in, give his/her warning, tell you what’s off limits, and everyone follows suit. On the rare occasion that someone steps out of line, all the celebrity has to say is: No comment. Or that’s not an appropriate question for me to answer. Her publicist gives the journalist a cold stare, and they move on.
As such, military tactics like these are not only unnecessary, they’re embarrassing. And for a couple having to deal with tabloid fallacies every week, for a couple whose chemistry is so convincingly magnetic, for a couple that has managed to capture worldwide fascination and obsession, going to these lengths only undermines the power of the Jungle Sex.
Clearly not well played…hypocrisy indeed.

CNN is a better outlet than Fox on most things.Fox is so biased. They dont like Angie at all their pro X.
Some people are really stupid ! freedom of speech does belong to anyone including to Angie.
This is not a banana republic. She has used her right to not be questioned about certain things related to HERSELF and her personal LIFE. that’s her prerogative, that’s the core of freedom of speech !
She even was gracious enough to offer a conscensus and compromise which is to agree to reply to some of the questions limited to a certain matter. They have refused and dismiss her fundamental right to do so, that’s their prerogative too ! They have noone to blame, it’s democracy !
What do you exepect ? That some dictotarship body as the press could just be the ONLY ONE whose offered that freedom of speech and not the other party involved ? That they are the only one that can DIRECT, DICTATE what they WANT TO GET from a PERSON who cannot use her rights to refuse or to choose to what she will reply ?
Freedom is never total as it ends where the freedom of the other begins.
Hell freedom of speech has its limits even in the US…a certain spy whose name was leaked by the press is suing some people in Washington for that ! But hell yeah, it’s freedom of speech for some, so it’s right, so let’s just give the press the green light, the right to insult anyone, to talk about anyone with no balance at all, to leak any federal dirty secrets, ect.. !
Just watched Regis & Kelly, just to hear Regis talk about AMH. He said good things about it. Glad Kelly had nice things to say also. She said because of all the tabloid news people forget that AJ is a good actress, who has won an Oscar. Regis didn’t mention any scuffle with the “press”.
How nice of Brad’s mom to be at the Premier Night of A Mighty Heart to lend her support to Brad and Angie.
Brad’s mom must be very happy for Angie is a heaven sent to her son. Now she has 4 lovely grandchildren from Brad.
Angie is so full love and praises for her son. Unlike the x who willingly stabbed her son at the back (through the use of her friends).
I am sure Jane will never forget the Vanity Fair interview. After perhaps reading RD, MC, Esquire and Parade, she must be thinking that Angie is truly heaven sent.
Lainey is no Reporter Without Borders.
I agree with her that there is misogyny in our society when strong women are concerned.

Bad call.
I called it - NYC were like vultures lying in wait for her. Anyone with brain knows it. They would have taken what she had to give and then sliced her and diced her twenty different ways. Someone on one segment would have tore her up regarding what she looked like, another would have demeaned her commentary, maybe a couple would have praised her here and there — and therein lies the whole point, the premiere and the film showing was to get it shown.
Guess what, both Brad and Angelina are a LOT smarter than people give them credit for - Brad went to the ’school of journalism’ at Univ of Miz - he wasn’t JUST a journalism major –he had to be accepted into ‘the school of journalism,’ and Angelina, we know is a whip….
..I say all of this to say - THEY KNOW WHAT THEY’RE DOING.
By the way - the fuss is being fueled by a couple of ******** (when people don’t source things, always suspect TROLL, or at the very least, a questionable schlock outfit) — Brad & Angelina, and their studio did the same damn thing for ‘Mr & Mrs. Smith’ (they acquiesced to being interviewed but resricted it to the topic of the film, NO PERSONAL QUESTIONS pertaining to their relationship or personal lives) - and as you’ll recall these same babies cried and whined because they couldn’t ask if Brad & Angie were together, or about ‘Maniston,’ or about WHEN they got together..blah blah blah…
As for that reporter, from Reporters w/o Borders - if THAT is an accurate quote (and who knows, as what i read wasn’t sourced) then he sucks and has an axe to grind. He’s sticking up for the paparazzi who couldn’t get on the red carpet??!! Here the movie is about a REAL REPORTER who lost his life focusing on dangerous geo-political issues and he’s lobbying to get a razzi vulture to stick a camera up Angelina’s ass and comment on her brand of tampon? Way to make yourself useful dude. Bottomline, studio and premieres make rules all the time about where the razzi’s can be, and where they can’t be. That guys is a joke. He needs to get his facts straight if he’s legit.
the woman is Brad Mum just check at her picture when she was in NO taking care of the children also the picture of her in Namibian she and Brad Dad.
I know you don’t like Jolie but that is Brad mum even access Hollywood also says that Pitt Mum, Sister and James Jolie brother are their in NYC with them.
you says that we fan “are so fanatics that we only see what we want to see”. Same thing go to you that are non fan, hater, etc you only see the bad thing but not the good.
That is the real fact hater will never see anything good with the Brangelina likewise fan will never see anything bad. Take it or leave it.
But that woman is BRAD PITT MUM EITHER YOU BELIEVE IT OR NOT BECAUSE IN YOUR OWN MIND YOU THOUGHT ELDER PITT DON’T LIKE HER.
ciao
Funny thing, I did a ggogle search on Jeff Juillard, didn’t find anything. I went to the Reporter Without Borders site and searched for his name, there is nothing on it.

Here is the SIMPLE TRUTH.
Here we go again infallibly.
She takes all the “blame” again, because he is “so private” (I am sure you remember his experimental merger and his PUBLIC whining and crying). He lets her stroke his EGO in the media, but if she would say something unflattering, he would deny it asap as always (his MO). But, he never tells the TRUTH of the FABRICATED “golden sh$t” nor the REAL reasons for that UGLY divorce (let’s face it, no matter what, he wouldn’t leave the x if not miserable and without any hopes for the future). She loves and admires the father he is to their kids, something that she has NEVER had. What about HER?! She told DS (TGS premiere)that he cared for the girls the morning of the interview-”without asking”. Without asking! It must feel good to have a picture-perfect girl and your baby’s mama to take all the sh$t all the time while you have it smoother and SMOOTHER.
Maybe he should go back to the fake and shallow Hw life where he belongs. Maybe she should get herself a MAN finally, she deserves one. She will never make one out of 44-yr old man. Just look at pathetic, stuck-in-his-20s narcissist Clooney.
Do not bother answering me.
This is what I know, and you do too.
Good for Angie, i hope this keeps the ball rolling, it’s about time someone started a
move to put a muzzle on the so call freedom
of speech press.. the only thing she ask them
to do is stick to the scrip..i hope other
celebrities follow suit..Fox response was like
a cry baby, crying vengeful tears.
If you come to cover the film and you are
professionals, why blow a cap about not being
able to get up in Angie’s cool-aid, it’s plain to see who the hypocrites are.
Angie is a intelligent women, her and Brad have
been doing this for a long time, and are up
on their game.
Those who bailed out..good if you can’t stand
the heat..hey there will never be a media
shortage. Next!!
On CNN American Morning the entertainment person was at the premiere last night. She had glowing praise for the movie, calling it a very important movie that should be seen. She didn’t say anything about AJ being too thin, or Brad looking old. She stayed on topic, the movie. She said she would have more on the movie next week.
On Regis and Kelly this morning Regis said the movie was very good, and that Angie is a really good actress. He said that is forgotten given all the other stuff that surrounds her. But she was terrific in the movie.
Remember for Mr.& Mrs interviewers were told that if they asked any questions about their personal lives they would terminate the interview. Didn’t Ann Curry ask AJ something pertaining to the x and the Bermuda triangle. Didn’t Angie tell her that she didn’t have to defend herself to prove she was a decent woman?
Signing an agreement is nothing new. It is just that it was AJ. No one said anything, except Ted C, about Brad banning certain journalist from a news conference for O13.
No wonder this poor woman can’t gain weight. The b@llS@it never stops. You have to admire her for just enduring all of it. This is not about the x, because by now everyone with a brain knows how shallow and attention hunger she is. This is about people who are jealous and unhappy in their own lives. This is about a woman who has shown that she has the strength and will to change and live a different more complete life. Something so many people can’t do or don’t want to do. This about wanting someone to continue on in a destructive manner to make themselves feel
better. We can only pray that they are blessed to stay strong and together.
A few things about film premieres: The popcorn and soda are free, and the stars almost always sneak out after the introductory remarks (by directors, producers, French people). But when the stars in question are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt — as they were last night at the Ziegfeld, for the premiere of the Danny Pearl film A Mighty Heart — the sneak-out becomes a half-hushed spectacle of its own. Awkward! Earlier, on arrival, they’d been much more overt, showing up in a black SUV and signing autographs and shaking hands before prowling the red carpet. Yes, they’re eye-bleedingly attractive, even if she needs a cupcake and he a nap. And, no, they wouldn’t talk to any print reporters. At the after-party — after the somber screening, everybody needed a pick-me-up, and the opulent, ornate, very un-Karachi-like Metropolitan Club was the spot — Brangelina were hugging, chatting, and eating sushi with folks like Mariane Pearl, Kimora Lee Simmons, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Norton, and Jeremy Piven. The reporters still weren’t allowed to approach the king and queen of the prom, which underscored how much it felt like high school. This time, though, it was pleasant enough to stare at the Ultimate Popular Kids from the shadows while chugging champagne and petits fours. Life’s tough. —Justin Ravitz
