OlderAngelina Jolie: I Want 13 or 14 Kids
Angelina Jolie greets fans and signs autographs before a screening of her new movie A Mighty Heart at the French Institute in New York City on Thursday night.
Here are a a few excerpts from last night’s taping of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart:
When you walked the streets of Pakistan, do you wear a head cover? A burka? Can I, if I may? And I say this with all due respect, Can the burka contain your hotness? It’s not possible, is it? You are our most powerful weapon against extremism.” I did actually put on a burka to see what it was like. [laughs]
How are you doing? Are you exhausted? I’m great. I’ve got a crazy big happy family and I’m used to chaos, and I’m very, very lucky.
How high are we going? Where are you going to go [in terms of kids]? It fluctuates between seven and 13 or 14. [laughs]
Wow. I’ll tell you this. I admire that, because two is kicking my ass! Yeah, I understand that. Four is kind of kicking our ass, but we kind of feel like, ‘Damn it, we’re up for the challenge!’ [laughs]
Yeah man, who are they? Little bastards, think they can beat us. They can’t beat us! We’re the adults! That’s right! [laughs]
PLAYDATE! And if the kids want to come, they can come. [laughs]
I didn’t have to sign [a contract] to interview, what’s all this [controversy]?: “I think people are always, unfortunately, looking for the most negative story. There was a memo that went out to ask people if they would sign it that said, don’t get into personal questions, focus on the movie and things like that. But it was not mandatory. I didn’t put it out there. It was from my representatives who were trying to be protective but it was excessive and I wouldn’t have to put it out there.”

I was just watching the premiers photos for Oceans 11 & 12. I noticed that pictures of X have been deleted/removed. Brad is very powerful in a quiet way. He does not have to stand on a roof top to yell that he has moved on but his actions sure do speak louder than any words.

Last time I checked…a lawyer and manager is considered to be people who represents a celeb. So that would mean they are that stars….huh let me think…representatives! There was even an article saying things about her manager. She doesn’t have a PR or publicist you hag.

But Jon and Angie did not mention religion or supposed oppression of women once. I think for Angie, when she visits another country it is more about trying to experience something from that culture’s point of view, to connect somehow…hence his question about the bhurka. She did it just to see what it is like to have one on her body, which is soooo Angie, not to make a social commentary. She has written about spening the night in the camps too see what it is like at sunset and sunrise, and when you feed your children, and what it sounds like when you can’t, etc…. She’s repeatedly said she’s not in this to tell others what to do or praise one culture or religion over another, but to try and help in whatever way she can.
I don’t think their exchange was disrespectful or narrow-minded at all.

i agree muslim women are not more oppressed than the others it’s the same situation everywhere and occidentals people are stupid to think they are better .(the sad thing is that women are their worst enemies.)

Since they are planning to have such a large family, I think some of the future adoptions should be adults to help balance out the family and care for the little ones. I happily volunteer myself LOL! :)

From an “American” viewpoint, a bhurka represents holding women down. That being said, however, I don’t think Jon was asking it in that way. He was asking if she wore the traditional dress of an area she was in. He was viewing it as a garment that hides a woman’s body/sexuality. Angie is somewhat known as a sexual being, so hiding her sexuality would be something to make a *joke* about. If she’d gone to a convent, he would have asked if she wore a habit. Get it?

Hay ya’ll, I wonder when they are headed back to Prague? I would think tonight or tomorrow, but with the J-P’s you never know what kind of business they might be taking care of in NYC for a few days before they leave the country again. They’ll probably fly out late at night or early in the morning so that the kids will sleep some of the way. They have done this before.

If Jon Stewart had asked Angelina if she wore a salwaar kameez, it would be a more interesting question, because there are tons of pictures of Angelina wearing that.
Angelina & Brad must be happy that all went wiwl with the US Premiere of A Mighty Heart and all that goes with it. Aside from some minute incident, I’d say the campaign well really well. When you take away tabloid clown headlines, personal & petty jealousies that manifests itself like comenting on physical appearance, etc… there really isn’t anything to talk about from a casual observer’s point of view. That’s how smooth it went. We fans have tons to talk about but haters will have to, as usual, resort to creating negativity from their miserable selves.
