Brad Takes Maddox to Mars 2112 — Again!

Brad Takes Maddox to Mars 2112 — Again!

Brad Pitt enjoys some father-son bonding time with 5-year-old son Maddox, piggybacking him into sci-fi-themed restaurant Mars 2112 in NYC’s Times Square (one of Maddox’s favorite eateries).

Brad and Maddox enjoyed their “outer space” dining experience — Maddox enjoyed the rocketship rides and Cyber Street arcade while Brad picked up a few items from the Martian Retail Galaxy.

No word yet on whether Maddox ordered the Terraforming Tuna tostada or Ziggy Stardust’s Spaghetti.

Happy Father’s Day to Brad and all the other proud papas out there!

I love it when good things happen to good people!

Great Dad!!! but pls, put a different hat.

Brad is doing a wonderful job as a daddy. Maddox is a really lucky child.

Funny how none of these “Great father” or “Good dad” comments make it on any other threads when the father is spending time with their kid. Narrow minded freaks …

Good Lord they are cute together.
Thank you Jared, I love these pics…

Hi Frenchy,

Isn’t it great that they are so close to us in NYC all over the place? Angie was in mid town Manhattan in my husband’s work building yesterday! And he didn’t know!!!! :)

It’s great they have one-on-one time with their kids. Nothing like bonding this way…

Brad really loves taking care of his kids — all of them! So I can see where he and Angie can have seven or 14 if they set their minds to it. Heck, my parents had seven, my sister has nine and they had nowhere near the resources the JPs have, and we are all doing okay.

Why do most of you reply with “now that is a great dad!”

Give me a break. There are tons of great fathers out there, with very little money who spend more time with their kids round the year.

I see Brad is out with his favourite ’son’

jeannified @ 06/15/2007 at 1:45 pm

So cute! I think it’s great that Brad makes time for each child, so that they feel special. What a great dad! Happy Father’s Day, Brad!

The should really stay in the LA area. When they are there there is rarely a picture of them. They shop and go out to eat and take the kids to school Angie sadi they did and no pictures. When in Europe or NY pictures every day. LA is the best for them if they don’t want to be seen.

LMAO!!!!!!!!! That name you gave them is soooooo cornball. Where are you from? I Like Nr. & Mrs. Pitt, Mr. and Mrs. Whiplash (fans know why) and Jolie-Pitt, which is their more common moniker.

Brad and Mad are making it their own tradition as father and son to come to Mars 2112 whenever they are in NYC. Brad and Angie are super wonderful parents.

Brad and Angie are just average parents. They have a fleet of nannies and minders, don’t be fooled simply because the nanny isn’t holding the kid in the staged shots.

Brad’s mouth is always hanging open like he’s some idiot savant.

Winnie-the-Pooh @ 06/15/2007 at 1:50 pm

Nice pictures of the father and the son. BTW, I love :lol:your kicks, Brad!

I know, right, SJ? I mean, HOW DARE HE give his son a piggyback ride while going to a restaurant? How fake! Clearly he dragged his son out just so the paparazzi could take these pictures!

Ugh, it’s sooooo transparent. I doubt they were even hungry or that Maddox even likes this restaurant. IT MUST BE b/c Brad is staging photos. DUH! It’s the only response that makes sense!

Daddies so make a difference.

All you longtime Angelina fans, I’m talking to you. Remember when Maddox was much younger he was always photographed with his tongue sticking out at the paparazzi? I noticed that when Brad came into his life, that all stopped. It could be that he outgrew that behavior but I wouldn’t rule out Brad’s influence in that change.

I really don’t think she was serious about the 13 to 14 kids. She said that they would never have so many that they each couldn’t get individual time from them. So, I don’t see them having that money especially since she keeps saying that they wouldn’t be having any soon as they are trying to adjust to the 4 they have.

SPLASH ONLINE @ 06/15/2007 at 2:05 pm

This is really hard me for right now, I can write all day about how Britney Spears probably leaves her kids in the care of a fish tank while she’s out partying or how I wish that dolphins land on Tara Reid’s head and lets not talk about that easy target Paris Hilton but putting into words how one of our photographers probably felt as he sat inches away from Angelina Jolie while they drove around New York City for 30 minutes? Um yeah, that’s why I carbon offset and watch Extreme Make Over: Home Edition.But hey, this isn’t about me, it’s about this luck sh*t James, who because he treated Angelina as more than just dollar sign (even we get star struck too) got to ride around New York City with one of the most beautiful women in the world.

So today, staff photographer James Ambler was cycling through the city trying to keep up with silver screen siren Angelina Jolie when he punctured one of his tires and Jolie being the humanitarian that she is, instead of leaving him in her dust after he had spent days photographing her, had her security pull over her SUV and offered the paparazzo a ride to the hotel.

Now this is usually where I would freak out due to jealousy (or because my g/f’s obsession with Jolie has caused her to barricade herself in the bathroom and has been plunging her head in a bathtub full of water screaming “Why not me?” for the past 5 hours) but after looking at the pictures and video of James and his ear to ear smile, it made me appreciate all the hard work he did over the past few days to earn Jolie’s respect.

Here’s to you James, you spent 30 minutes alone with the most sought after woman in the world but for the record, I don’t think Brad has anything to worry about.

Watch the video HERE to see James try to put his encounter into words as I’m at home and cant process the video (stupid Verizon and their awful bandwidth). The darling Anna is off tomorrow so I will put up as soon as get into the office.

Update: I have added the video of a absolutely star struck James Ambler.

Angelina Jolie’s Media Contracts

Today, Angelina Jolie’s people responded to the brouhaha over the restrictive contract they’d given news outlets to sign before Jolie would agree to be interviewed on the red carpet at the premiere of her new film A Mighty Heart. When most news outlets refused to sign (and Roger Friedman got all indignant that Fox allegedly hasn’t been invited), the damage control began. From the Times: “Ms. Jolie’s lawyer, Robert Offer, said that the statement was the fault of a ‘bone-headed, overzealous lawyer’—meaning himself—and that his client was unaware of the move.” That’s very nice of Robert Offer to take the blame; Jolie refused to comment. But a source tells us there’s almost no way Jolie could not have signed off on the contract.

When the Jolie-Pitts were off in Cambodia last winter, outlets that wished to submit bids to Getty Images for the photos were sent a nearly four-page, single-spaced memo describing Jolie’s work in Cambodia. Further, the memo stated:

While Angelina and Brad understand the interest in their family, they also expect that the publications who purchase these photos will use them in a way that also draws attention to the needs of the Cambodian people. Angelina, Brad Pitt, and the staff working on these programs will provide exclusive quotes to the publication that purchases the photos. Publications are invited to comment on their editorial plans when submitting their bids.

Those photos went to People magazine, which soon afterwards published an articleabout Cambodia.

So if this has been standard practice for Jolie for quite some time, why did journalists get all riled up now? Another source tells us that the Friedman piece blew the situation out of proportion, and that while Jolie’s demands may have been over the top in the past, the Mighty Heart document was necessary: “It was slightly heavy handed, but at the same time they were allowing every print organization under the sun to attend the junket,” this source tells us. “There are junkets with C-listers that ban certain magazines, and here you have Angelina opening the door wide open.” And it got slammed in her face. Ouch.

Sweetie, at the end of the day, you’re the one who is here on a BRAD AND ANGELINA THREAD making a fool out of yourself. So, no, I think YOU are STILL classified as the stupid idiot.

Because a smart person who is not a fan of Brad and Angie would just pass by the thread without posting.

what about anything he does makes his this “great dad” you all keep referring to. i know plenty of dads who take their kids out to eat.

he and his brood are NOTHING special. i’m pretty sure they’d be scared of you freaks who worship their every move.

There are consequences from spreading vile BS about our lovely family and once the fans are circling around you like vultures. Watch out! :)

what about anything he does makes his this “great dad” you all keep referring to. i know plenty of dads who take their kids out to eat.

he and his brood are NOTHING special. i’m pretty sure they’d be scared of you freaks who worship their every move.

To me:

Yep I know plenty of Dads who do lots of stuff with their kids too. In fact you probably have a cool dad who took you to great restaurants when you were a kid. Maybe since Sunday is Father’s Day you can repay his kindness by taking him out to a fun place to eat. But uh here’s the thing let us know if the paps show up so that when Jared posts the pics of you and good ol’ dad enjoying your day together then the rest of us can come to that thread and post about what a great father you have. We may even say some good things about you too. Okay. So you get busy working on that and let us know how you’re coming along.

I am appalled by the usage of the media by this woman. Even the most “in you face” actor or actress keeps a lower profile then this woman. Her every waking moment is scheming on how she can take advantage of the media today. She is all over the media with where she is and which direction she is going. I have NO RESPECT for her what-so-ever, she is a total user and a fake….
{In short, she is a FLAKE!}

I think the Brangelina fans just know how to appreciate the nice little things they see that people do, however ordinary. It makes life better that way, you know. Appreciation is a good, healthy thing to do.Instead of always seeing the negative out of everything. Such a miserable life to lead. Right haters? :)

With that said, wouldn’t it be funny if he became famous by virtue of a getting a lift from Angelina, as opposed to dating aging, unemployed actresses?

Angelina’s got it like that, ya know…

P.S. Hottie… stay away from the Lohans, Hiltons, and their fellow celebutard sk*n*bags!!

woaw !

Going from staying idle watching TV while his wife spent time to tan while trying to figure out what other bullshit to tell her husband to make him believe that she truly is in par with his personal wish of being a father to a TRUE father figure of 4 with all the joy and challenge and substance and personal growth implied in it.

What an upgrade from the shallow superficial with no aim in life past…with the only excepetion of looking good…vanity is a ***** !

His life is so much more richer now with Angie and the kids…so much more in par with the maturity process that should struck any normal 35+…at least those who are not childish and full of insecurities like teens are !

The should really stay in the LA area. When they are there there is rarely a picture of them. They shop and go out to eat and take the kids to school Angie sadi they did and no pictures. When in Europe or NY pictures every day. LA is the best for them if they don’t want to be seen.
****************
Whats wrong with them being seen?

Frankly there is nowhere on the face of this earth where they will not be pursued, or seen.

I am sure they know that being photographed comes with the package in their chosen professions.

**************************

Um not true. there are many places in the world where they are not known nor care to know. How arrogant to thinking that everyone knows who they are. Why? when they want to not be see, they won’t be seen.

I still think Brad Pitt had something to do with the hoopla with the no personal q&a demands. I remember ted casablanca was pissed because Brad Pitt banned a few reporters from his O13 premiere and now you have this mess surrounding Angelina Jolie. Makes me wonder if he is trying to silence her because she is a little too candid at times, and he doesn’t like it. of course like everything else no matter who’s idea it was, the blame always falls at Angelina’s feet. that must be frustrating for her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It’s amazing…
As much as the haters like to go back and forth with the fans about any Brad and/or Angelina article, interview, telecasts, etc., they conveniently forgot about Chasing Angelina. It is remarkable, since anything her name is assigned to, they make a beeline toward.
I guess they went into a hysterical deafness and blindness when the news crew talked to a pap who was communicating with another pap about their mutual subject.
Teams, dipshits!! The paps do work in teams, ya know!!!
Brad Pitt # 1 Dad, he is really a very happy father right now & he deserves all the best in the world. Happy Father’s Day Brad !!!
When you & Angelina gets older, your family will always be there for you guys. Have love & faith with each other. Thanks for bringing joys to all the Brangelina fans all over the world. You are such an inspiration. God bless you & your family.
Angie always make such a positive and powerful appearance on the red carpet or when she gives interviews. Then the media haters attack her for it.. Remember the personal attacks in the New York Times article and the nasty comments from E! during the GG. If they truly practice their craft, they must have known Angie’s mother was about to die,. Yet they ignored that and put a negative spin on Angie’s demeanor and belittled her accomplishments. Now Fox News creates this negastive story when in fact do you really think Angie gets arrogant like that.
The real story is Angie makes some people (including some in the media) very insecure. She is larger than life - and is only 32. Her spirit/aura, her drive, her abilities, her personality threaten them.
Think about, Angie admires journalists who aspire to tell the truth. Not wanting to talk about your private life during interviews reserved for AMH is not the same as a government that tries to suppress the media. If Fox thinks these are of equal importance, then the media has a fundamental defect.
One last thing, I believe that these haters (including those in the media) sell Americans short. I refuse to believe that most people question her sincerity, her generosity, her integrity, strong character and humanity. Most people get it - and admire and respect her.
twokids2wat thats nice of u promoting d-listed, u must the host MK? anyway, wht sld i go to d-listed, when i can sit here in JJ the mighty haven for A-listed JOLIEPITTS. hey, in case u don’t know the bampz fanz are the A-LIST FANS on the PLANET!!! if u don’t belong in this group , then go to D-listed! becoz name don’t cost much, in short cheap, u hv to work ur way to be on the D to A!!!
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Let me set something straight right now!
I have never attackd his children or his parental skills. Angelina, well, maybe a little. But she deserves it. Look at her in the interviews. She stammers a look to make herself seem interesting or that she is looking for the right word to say. But at the end she said nothing. She should review all her interviews before going to the next. That way she can avoid contradicting herself about the same subject so many times in her different interviews.
twokids2, you are rally a pathetic person. Aren’t you tired of yourself. Good god go wash your a$$.
Good for Brad that he has his kids while he is young enough to lug them around…even carry two at a time. So many Hollywood dads have their kids when they are old and decrepit and not able to do physical stuff with them.
AMH PR DISASTER @ 06/15/2007 at 4:03 pm
Forget about angelina. Mariane’s Pearl friend, who co-wrote the book, HATE the movie.
Asra Nomani, the former Wall Street Journal reporter who’s the “supporting character” in “A Mighty Heart,” the Angelina Jolie film about journalists Danny and Marianne Pearl and Danny’s murder in Pakistan, helped out on making the picture true to life. She made sure the cast even got the right notebooks that she and Danny used. But when she saw the glittery press photos out of the film’s premiere at Cannes, she had a “duh” moment. The marketing, the PR, the celebrities: All of it was absolutely the antithesis of Danny, she realized. The studio publicists brought a screener of the film to her house in West Virginia: the on-screen Danny just looked so flat. So in an email to a producer of the film early this month, Nomani wrote: “I’m not going to be attending the premiere because, upon reflection, I just don’t believe in the movie and the mythology of its marketing and PR campaign.”
In this excerpt from her email, she explains her thinking.
As much as the talking points say that this movie is for Danny and that everyone made the movie for the right reasons, I don’t at all feel that it is for Danny or that noble intentions underly this movie. That’s just my opinion, and I don’t mean to offend you, but I’ve just heard that soundbite one too many times.
In your role as producer, you may think I’m full of B.S. in seeing a reality that isn’t the one that you’re portraying on the big screen. I am told there is hardly a person who thinks too highly of Hollywood’s depiction of reality. But even knowing that intellectually, I cannot in good conscience enable an enterprise to me that represents to me little more than “astroturf reality.”
Maybe I’ve read a little too much Joseph Campbell, but I think that our society has become quite sick in the way that we manufacture heroes out of tragedy — Guliani, for example, being a hero when he was just doing his job as mayor — and to me the industry that supports this mythmaking is not one in which I want to participate. To me, the participation of the media industry in creating myths out of reality is most distressing.
The truth is that I am sorry that I ever got involved in the movie making from the beginning. I was naive in putting trust in the process, and I shouldn’t have been but my head was also spinning post-Karachi in trying to support Mariane as much as I could. To me, Danny had left her at my house, and I had a duty to him to take care of her.
I tried throughout the filmmaking to help because I hoped a greater good would come from this enterprise. In my heart, I don’t think a greater good emerges, despite all of the allegiances with reporting organizations, etc., because at the end of the day this movie could never have happened without the tragic sacrifice of Danny’s life, and my greatest sadness is that I don’t think that the movie comes close to even capturing Danny’s real life charisma and charm.
As the details of the movie have sunk into my conscience over the last couple of weeks, I realized that the film made me miss Danny even more as a friend, because he was so not present for me on the screen
What a selfish woman. The movie was based on Mariane Pearl’s book and her search to find her husband not the life and work of Danny Pearl.
Mariane has seen it and liked it.
That’s just my opinion, and I don’t mean to offend you, but I’ve just heard that soundbite one too many times.
In your role as producer, you may think I’m full of B.S. in seeing a reality that isn’t the one that you’re portraying on the big screen. I am told there is hardly a person who thinks too highly of Hollywood’s depiction of reality. But even knowing that intellectually, I cannot in good conscience enable an enterprise to me that represents to me little more than “astroturf reality.”
Maybe I’ve read a little too much Joseph Campbell, but I think that our society has become quite sick in the way that we manufacture heroes out of tragedy — Guliani, for example, being a hero when he was just doing his job as mayor — and to me the industry that supports this mythmaking is not one in which I want to participate. To me, the participation of the media industry in creating myths out of reality is most distressing.
The truth is that I am sorry that I ever got involved in the movie making from the beginning. I was naive in putting trust in the process, and I shouldn’t have been but my head was also spinning post-Karachi in trying to support Mariane as much as I could. To me, Danny had left her at my house, and I had a duty to him to take care of her.
I tried throughout the filmmaking to help because I hoped a greater good would come from this enterprise. In my heart, I don’t think a greater good emerges, despite all of the allegiances with reporting organizations, etc., because at the end of the day this movie could never have happened without the tragic sacrifice of Danny’s life, and my greatest sadness is that I don’t think that the movie comes close to even capturing Danny’s real life charisma and charm.
As the details of the movie have sunk into my conscience over the last couple of weeks, I realized that the film made me miss Danny even more as a friend, because he was so not present for me on the screen
I think that if the family doesn’t have a problem with it, that should be the most important thing.
Assuming that the email is real, I still hesitate to get angry with this person for her feelings. She misses her friend and it seems that she’s wrapping her personal philosophies with the memory of her friend.
ASRA NOMANI is not the author of the book, you moron!
The author is Marianne Pearl, Danny’s wife - AMH is a story told through her eyes and she totally endorses the movie.
Asra is a journalist who worked with Danny. She was very worried that the actress who played her part was not glamorous enough, she said in an interview she was afraid she was going to be played by the domestic help.
IMO she does not like Danny’s wife and her book. She wants this to be Danny’s story and have a bigger role herself. And the truth is this is Danny and Marianne story, told by Marianne.
She comes out as a bit jealous, really… just like the moron who hates Angelina so much she ran here telling us the “author” of the book was not happy with the movie. Stupid is as stupid does.
The truth is that I am sorry that I ever got involved in the movie making from the beginning. I was naive in putting trust in the process, and I shouldn’t have been but my head was also spinning post-Karachi in trying to support Mariane as much as I could. She totally bashed Brad, the other producers, paramount and the director. BIG TIME, she used a great choice of words.
It is funny how critics drop these so called articles without links or facts. The agenda is to smear the Movie and AJ. However, it is a futile cause. Anybody can claim to be a critic, a friend, a source or whatever. The final proof is in the product and so far A Mighty Heart is a critical success. The movie was made on an Indie budget and has been hailed by major critics and not by fly by night websites (Nat’l alledger and Post chronic lies). However, don’t let that stop you from your little campaign. I am looking forward to seeing “A Mighty Heart”.
where’s the source (ie link) of that lil AMH disaster? Anyway it is only her pov & we all know that if the Pearl fam detested the idea of actors/productions/directions/etc then the movie wouldnt ahve been made from the start.
Please do not spread negative comments until you hear from Brad and Angelina. It has happened over and over. The purpose of those who spread this news is to kill the joy of the fans and it will not work.
sounds a little bitter about something for some reason, especially “To me, Danny had left her at my house, and I had a duty to him to take care of her.” maybe she felt she was not projected accurately in the movie or they didn’t cast the right person to portray her?
#172, If Mariane Pearle is such her friend why would she want to say such negative things about the movie at this time. She sounds abit hypocritical to me, because if she felt so stongly about danny pearle being her so called friend why would she try to sabotage the movie before its even aired to the public.Thats some friend You would think that she would try to support Maraiane and her son at this time instead about interjecting her feelings about how the movie was made. Mariane seems to like the movie just fine. You strike me as a hater big time.
Can’t wait wait to see AMH.
A Mighty Heart
CASUALTY OF WAR The tragic story of Daniel Pearl’s abduction and murder is obscured by the star (Jolie, as Mariane Pearl) on screen
Peter MountainBy Lisa Schwarzbaum Lisa Schwarzbaum
Lisa Schwarzbaum is a film critic for EW
Wish though we might for another option, we know the terrible ending of A Mighty Heart before the movie begins. While investigating a story in Karachi, Pakistan, on ‘’shoe bomber” Richard Reid in early 2002, Wall Street Journal reporter and South Asia bureau chief Daniel Pearl was kidnapped and murdered, and his beheading was documented on camera with sickening cruelty of purpose. Pearl’s wife, Mariane, herself a freelance journalist for French radio and television, was pregnant at the time, and after her husband’s death, she wrote a book about his life and work — and their happy time together — with the couple’s son, Adam, in mind. If today even strangers refer to the Pearls as Danny and Mariane, it is because, through the intimate accessibility of her prose and the fresh glamour of their photogenic images, Mariane Pearl has succeeded so well in personalizing the dangers that accompany the necessity of a free press. Scores more journalists have since died in the line of duty.
The shaping and shading that turned Mariane’s book, subtitled The Brave Life and Death of My Husband, Danny Pearl, into A Mighty Heart, the noble project starring Angelina Jolie, qualifies in itself, I suppose, as a kind of media success. This respectful, committed, on-the-side-of-right dramatization got made because it stars one of today’s most headline-grabbing actress-celebrities. (As a promotional bonus, Jolie’s equally eye-catching partner, Brad Pitt, is one of the producers.) And because Michael Winterbottom directed, drawing on his blunter global docudrama style (The Road to Guantánamo) rather than his fanciful playtime style (Tristram Shandy: A **** & Bull Story), the movie strides ahead with a good sense of rhythm, rocking backward just when relief is needed to create vignettes of happier moments in the Pearls’ life as an attractive couple to offset the despair of the present and horror of the future. (We know it’s coming; thank goodness we’re spared the full documentation.)
But because A Mighty Heart stars Jolie — her skin somehow polished to reflect Mariane’s Afro-Cuban/Dutch complexion, her wig a masterpiece of a casually corkscrewed updo, her accent the work of a good student — it’s impossible not to be conscious of her performance at every turn. Her intensity, combined with the aura of her celebrity, becomes the story — and the character of the actual Danny Pearl (Dan Futterman, a spot-on physical match) recedes in importance. Thus when Mariane expresses frustration with the investigation, even though a team of Pakistani counter-terrorism officers, led with devotion by a man called only Captain (The Namesake’s terrific Irrfan Khan), are working around the clock, we focus on her pain rather than their hard work. When Mariane turns for support to Danny’s boss, John Bussey (Half Nelson’s fine Denis O’Hare), to friend and colleague Asra Nomani (Bend It Like Beckham’s Archie Panjabi), and to Danny’s parents (allowing screenwriter John Orloff to emphasize Danny’s pride in his Jewish heritage), her needs dwarf the value of their compassion. And when Mariane receives the news she’s been dreading and to which the entire movie has been building, the actress in the role dissolves into a keening grief so busy that audience attention wanders at exactly the wrong time to thoughts about how many takes the shot required, and why a moment so obviously devastating affects us in the head but not in the gut.
Winterbottom’s A Mighty Heart focuses on the grim stretch between the time Danny Pearl never returned for dinner (he had set off to interview a shady source) and the time, weeks later, when grisly confirmation of death arrived. Mariane Pearl surely wasn’t passive during that time — she worked her sources and attended to her health for the sake of the baby growing inside her — but neither was she the real story. Daniel Pearl was, and the kind of work he did, and the reasons for the seething unrest in the country in which he was a visitor. At the very least, the story is the search to find one missing journalist, just one among hundreds in peril around the globe. The twisting of narrative perspective that pushes the missing man’s wife so insistently into the foreground makes A Mighty Heart a mighty challenge. Despite the best of intentions, an actress who makes her own headlines gets in the way of the big picture. B-
The more comments we make on this the more negative the thread becomes. We went over this yesterday before Angelina comment. Let Angie comment and the fans get out of helping to spread a false rumor. How does the letter to the producer come to the press?
Jared, Thanks for the great father-son picx. Brad is totally in his element here. Love the sneakers. I’m sure everyday is like Father’s Day for Brad as he has had his dreams come true times four, with the most beautiful, loving mom for his children as the cherry on top. So happy for him.
As for that so-call friend of Marianne and Daniel Pearl, sounds like sour grapes to me. Some people will say and do anything to get their 15mins of fame. Sad, but true.
We will see the movie, no matter what.
Not a cutie cutie child who is obviously a spoilt brat with celebrity parents.
Isn’t Mariane Pearle’s voice more important than this nobody? give me a break. What about all the postive reviews at Cannes and the world over.
Happy Father’s day Brad Pitt.
To me, Danny had left her at my house, and I had a duty to him to take care of her.”
that is an odd comment to make about a friend’s wife. Makes one wonder if she had feelings for Danny Pearl that went beyond friendship
And her voice is more important than MP who was his wife and Daniel’s parents who also approve of the movie? She was a friend. I would think his wife and parents would know his spirit better than a family friend. I would also think that if anyone should be offended on Daniel’s behalf at the movie promotion process it would be the wife or the parents not the family friend. She is an idiot if she thinks promotion is not necessary in the movie process. His wife and parents assisted inthat promotion as one of them was at both movie screenings.
This woman has miss the point of the movie completely. This movie is about Mariane Pearle, how she deal with his kidnapping and his death, how she wants the world to see that compassion not hatred is the answer. This is not about Danny’s life before the kidnapping, but his life after (yes, as long as Mariane and his son live, he lives as well).
If she read the book, she would know, I guess she didn’t?.
Fans, please stop responding to any bad post until you know that it is true and let Brad and Angelina take care of this like they usually do.
Oh please. No movie gets all positive reviews, especially one that hits as many touch points for the media as this one. The reviews have been over-whelmingly positive up to now, so it’s to be expected that a few critics won’t like it. In the end, there will be more raves for it than pans, I’m sure. It certainly won’t bomb, which is breaking the haters wittle hearts! haha!! O13’s success is painful enough for them, so they are ultra bitter, the hags.
Asra’s email is poorly timed and in bad taste, IMHO. She sounds like she is projecting her own feelings of loss onto the film, and I am thinking nothing would have made her happy.
Joile-Pitt’s fans should come together and celebrate AMH like we’ve been doing.
http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/movie/13097460/review/15101746/a_mighty_heart
The film’s strict avoidance of exploitation and sensationalism only adds to the film’s emotional impact. In just a few scenes, Futterman - the acclaimed screenwriter of Capote - digs deeply into Daniel as a journalist and a man. But the film belongs to Jolie. She won an Oscar for 1999’s Girl, Interrupted, but this is by far her best performance, strong and true in every detail from Mariane’s accent (her roots are Dutch and Afro-Cuban) to the strength she shows under fire. Her total immersion in the role keeps the film from getting lost in the rush of details. Even after Daniel’s death and subsequent beheading, Mariane holds Daniel’s spirit close. Jolie sees to it that the humane and haunting A Mighty Heart honors that spirit.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I don’t really care about her persoanl feelings when she pisses on the family to express them. To express this to MP in private is one thing but she didn’t need to do this publicibly if this is true. That is there husband and son and I’m sure this movie coming out has been difficult for them, has brought up a lot of things they thought they long made peace with, for her to put her grief or her philosophies on them at this time in a public way is dead wrong. She may miss her friend but as my father told one of my cousins at my grandmother’s funeral when she was acting inapporpriate. She may have been your grandmother and I’m sure you miss her but she was my mother no one could possible miss her more than me, now get it together.
I see the troll is working hard today, it must be drinking redbull to keep it going. Having to read through all the positive reviews to find the negative once.
“A Mightly Heart” is about Mariane Pearl.Ok Please go away.
Asra Nomani is really just slapping Marianne Pearl in the face, which I’m damned sure Danny Pearl wouldn’t like either. But you know what, a slap for Marianne is indirectly a slap for Angelina, so I expect that this will get blown out of proportion by some haters just as the premiere ‘contract’ was. I don’t understand this woman’s beef - she’s a bit discombobulated for a ‘writer.’ She’s basically saying she didn’t see Daniel Pearl in Daniel Futterman’s portrayal (’didn’t see her friend onscreen’) and that’s why she’s regretting the movie (way to make Futterman feel like sh*t lady), then she talks about the mythology of movie making, then she mentions the marketing and PR (Dear ms. Nomani, the studio gives producers 20 million dollars to make movies in the hopes that they make it back and then some - what planet are you on that you didn’t know THAT going in?) — BOTTOMLINE, she is ALL over the place. At the end of the day, I can guarantee you, she has an ulterior motive, even if it’s just of the emotional immature kind. She has decided to stick it to Marianne out of jealousy, or perhaps she doesn’t like that Marianne herself is the focal point (I get the feeling she is, and WAS, VERY proprietal about Daniel Pearl, which is kind of creepy sounding considering she was not his wife - though perhaps that’s her problem eh?).
Again, peeps can keep yapping about A Mighty Heart - at this point it really doesn’t matter what kind of ‘personal issues’ Ms. Nomani has, nor does it matter what kind of talk surrounds this movie - the fact that there are good reviews, and that there’s TALK period, is a GOOD thing…I predict this picture will be HUGE. :lol:
OMG when will this be over? These FRAUDS really want to take every penny they can for this movie. I’d rather die than donate into their luxurious lives (10k/night villa, private jets, 20+ household help, etc). This anorexic is manipulating the media any way she can. At the end of the day she is still America’s Homewrecker.
Yeah that’s it you dumb evil HO…keep stabbing the lady that’s visited 30 some odd war torned, impoverished areas of the world and brought attention to impoverished AIDS babies who are dying, and genocide that is occurring - not to mention giving 1/3rd of her income away to causes hoping to end and alleviate the death and destruction, not to mention, raising the babies that she’s seen suffering alone without parents, as her children….
Yeah go right ahead you piece of SH*T rank excuse for a human being, settle your fat lard ass down with a big ol’ BLIZZARD from Dairy Queen and watch the 1998 season of ‘Friends’ aka ‘6 rich white people who complain in NYC while chillaxing in their Loft.’ One dumb useless ***** deserves another I guess.
Oh and one more thing, ‘America’s Homewrecker?’ Maybe you call, a sad DULL REBOUND relationship where Brad was beleaguered by a DUMB cheesy big schnozzed TV sit-com hack and her 27 cackling hen friends/lackeys/goddesses, who drank too much, snorted blow, and toked weed every other day, a ‘home.’ I call that a WASTE OF HIS F*CKING LIFE!! Brad would off himself in quite the spectacular fashion, weeping for Angelina right up until the very end.
She liked the movie, just hate angelina.
I haven’t seen the movie, but reading these movie “critics” made me wonder whether the listened to what the writer, the director, and the actors have said over and over in their interviews. The movie is not mainly about DP, his is a supporting role. The movie wants to emphasize the idea of cooperation between people of different races, and religions to help a woman looking for her husband in a foreign and hostile country. It’s not a film about DP’s life.
n January 2002, Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl traveled to Karachi with his pregnant wife, Mariane, in pursuit of the truth. He was investigating a possible tie between “shoe bomber” Richard Reid and Sheikh Gilani, a Pakistani cleric who dabbled with radical Islamic groups in the past. “Meet him in public” everyone warned Daniel, fearing for his life.
But it didn’t matter. He was brutally murdered after being abducted by jihadists who, in a bitter twist of fate, had nothing to do with the lead he was pursuing. They just saw an opportunity to seize a respected American journalist and torture him until the U.S. government caved in to their outlandish demands. Which, of course, never happened.
A Mighty Heart is Mariane Pearl’s account of the five weeks leading up to her husband’s death. It’s based on the memoir she wrote of the experience in hopes that her son, Adam, could get a feel for the great man his father was and how much people cared about him.
The irony is that the title is easily the most sentimental thing about the movie. Director Michael Winterbottom (Road To Guantanamo) uses his polished, documentary style of filmmaking to put us right there in the situation and keep tensions high. He creates a sense of urgency with the gritty camerawork and setting, which aptly complement the powerful, talk-heavy script by John Orloff.
For this reason, A Mighty Heart works surprisingly well as a nail-biting political thriller. Although it’s based on real events that were plastered all over the news five years ago, it seems fresh, and you just may find yourself hoping for a different ending than the one you know is coming.
Most of the film is set within the home of Daniel’s friend/colleague Asra Nomani (Archie Panjabi), which becomes the headquarters for the investigation. There is a real sense of community on display, bringing together friends, government captains (Irrfan Khan), security specialists (Will Patton) and employers (Denis O’Hare) with a common goal to save a life.
Angelina is fantastic as Mariane Pearl, transforming not just her physical appearance but her entire persona. Gone are the sexy, attention-grabbing antics, and in their place are subtlety, strength and an empowering sense of optimism. She is barely recognizable as this woman who kept it together and never lost hope amid a grueling quest. And you’d never guess it from Alexander, but she pulls off an extremely difficult French/Cuban accent.
Daniel (Dan Futterman) appears in A Mighty Heart mostly in flashbacks with Mariane, which are done tactfully and without piling on the sap. They’re mainly shown in regular, everyday moments, just looking at each other with love and going about their daily business.
While no recreation could ever truly capture what they had or the tragic direction their lives would lead, A Mighty Heart makes a surprisingly effective attempt. After all, not many movies can break your heart, keep your adrenaline racing and remind you of life’s value all at once.
Happy Father’s Day, Brad!! You have 4 very, very, very, very lucky kids. Your beautiful Angelina is the luckiest mom in the world because of you!!! :-)
202 EW REVIEW B- (BLAMES ANGELINA) | 06/15/2007 at 4:50 pm
********************************
You do realize she still gave the film a favorable review? I know it’s painful but you haven’t lost all common sense have you?
It’s often suggested that the films of Michael Winterbottom are so varied that it’s hard to find a common thread running through them beyond their diversity and frequency, yet the director’s latest film ‘A Mighty Heart’, which had its world premiere in Cannes last night, is further evidence of this British filmmaker’s growing desire to apply an urgent and committed cinema to some of the more controversial and pressing areas of current world affairs.
His new film is an energetic reconstruction of the disappearance of Wall Street Journal journalist Daniel Pearl in Karachi in 2002 and the tense five weeks that followed as his wife Mariane Pearl (Angelina Jolie) remained at the centre of a fraught international investigation until the discovery that Pearl had in fact been murdered by his kidnappers early in his captivity. With its extensive location work, a visual style that feeds on the appearance of news footage and documentaries, use of archive footage and its journalistic attention to precise details, ‘A Mighty Heart’ should be seen as the third film in a loose trilogy that includes ‘In This World’ and ‘Road to Guantanamo’. Jolie is impressive as Mariane Pearl, portraying her as a calm, intelligent presence amid an investigation that was flawed by bureaucracy and differing attitudes to her husband’s disappearance among, for example, the FBI and the Pakistani security services, the first of which were questioning of the latter’s reaction to Pearl’s disappearance. Indeed a strong theme of the film is the downside of global communication and co-operation as different interests and ideas and prejudices collide in the search for Pearl.
Before the kidnapping itself, Winterbottom immediately presents the chaos and uncertainty of Daniel Pearl’s existence in Karachi, throwing us into busy street-scenes of traffic jams as Pearl (Dan Futterman) fights his way around the city as part of his research into potential Pakistani links to the British ’shoe bomber’, Richard Reid. Within 15 minutes, Pearl is gone and the rest of the film leads up to the inevitable discovery of the news that its characters all dread. Winterbottom adopts a ‘war room’ approach to the story, largely basing its telling within Pearl’s Karachi home, which fills with colleagues, police and other officials. This scenario is constantly punctuated with brief interludes elsewhere, such as flashes of Pearl’s parents back home in America and of the Pakistani’s forces applying torture to a suspect. The film is speedy and never lingers on one scene for long. Edits are fast and close-ups are abundant.
We don’t see Pearl being kidnapped or during his incarceration apart from a reconstruction of some moments of the tape that his kidnappers released following his death. Instead, this is Mariane Pearl’s story and we are left to ponder the Pearls’ previous life together from several flashbacks (such as their wedding) and their life apart from both the terrible, wrenching screams that a heavily pregnant Pearl lets out when she is finally told that her husband is dead and the final shot of her walking alone with her child down a quiet Paris street.
As an American co-production, ‘A Mighty Heart’ feels like a bigger affair than those comparable earlier films mentioned above - ‘In This World’ and ‘Road to Guantanamo’ - and as a result it lacks some of their sense of improvisation and close connection to the grit of the real world but gains a wider, international canvas of political intrigue. It’s never less than compelling and has a special, sad potency as the disappearance of BBC correspondent Alan Johnston now reaches its tenth week.
MP like Angie, MP likes the movie. This thread has the tendency of focusing more on one single hate post while a lot of good things get ignored. Let’s gather and plan to watch the movies. Post the good reviews, post MP’s approval. Post what matters. Some people are working overtime doing smear job, don’t help them.
Fans, please stop responding to any bad post until you know that it is true and let Brad and Angelina take care of this like they usually do.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
but why would they respond to that? her feelings are just that ‘her feelings’. for all u know she expected to be picked up by a private jet and limosined to the cannes premier with designers clamoring to dress her in their best gowns but to her disappointment she didn’t get that? who knows why she suddenly felt the way she did. she could have just said she wasn’t able to attend the premier and left it at that. IF she really did write that lengthy email, it sounds very much to me that she’s attention-seeking more than anything else. maybe no one made her feel special and she felt she deserved as much if not more attention as marianne?
http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/movie/13097460/review/15101746/a_mighty_heart
The film’s strict avoidance of exploitation and sensationalism only adds to the film’s emotional impact. In just a few scenes, Futterman - the acclaimed screenwriter of Capote - digs deeply into Daniel as a journalist and a man. But the film belongs to Jolie. She won an Oscar for 1999’s Girl, Interrupted, but this is by far her best performance, strong and true in every detail from Mariane’s accent (her roots are Dutch and Afro-Cuban) to the strength she shows under fire. Her total immersion in the role keeps the film from getting lost in the rush of details. Even after Daniel’s death and subsequent beheading, Mariane holds Daniel’s spirit close. Jolie sees to it that the humane and haunting A Mighty Heart honors that spirit.
Can we start posting the good reviews and celebrate what it stands for?
Thank you bdj. Now, this movie critic gets it.
I really think that we all don’t need to read every review, beacuse there were so many examples where review for one movie were very bad, and then it turns up that a movie was a big box office success, and probably an Oscar winner, and also, so many movies could get good reviews but people don’t accept them …
We all have our own opinion, and that is all what is imoportant! I think that Angelina is great actress and I’m sure she made a great movie and I’m looking forward to see it! And movie critics are usually people who faild in becoming actors, and they think that they have a vision of a perfect movie! Of course that there are normal movie critics who try to understand the movie and actors and situation behind movie. And that is way I usually don’t read them! I trust my own opinon.
And to all here present haters or better to say Aniston fans who still, after 2 years just can not move on even if they have a new man in Aniston life - please, go on her thread and than there you all can speak about all Aniston’s good or bad reviews for her movies, or maybe the fact that she has not got a movie reviews, because she doesn’t have a new movie is that what you just can not accept!
I mean, I don’t know what kind of good or bad reviews were there for The break up - and I don’t care simply because I didn’t like it! But I am a normal preson and I don’t go to her thread or read your posts and I sure don’t leave my opinion on those threads!
marmalade @ 06/15/2007 at 5:14 pm
No movie based on real life events or people is going to satisfy all of those ‘real’ people depicted, particularly not one with such a sensitive subject matter. I seem to remember some similar ambivalence on the part of those featured in Winterbottoms ‘Welcome to Sarajevo’. It ties in with the old ‘you can’t please all of the people all of the time’ adage. It doesn’t mean that such movies are a failure or that they should not be attempted.
I’m also suspicious as to how this woman’s thoughts have come to light. I have no doubt that these are her true opinions a view she of course is thoroughly entitled to hold. We all know by now that emails are not totally private but the leaking of this one at this time seems a bit too convenient to me.
Angelina Hits the Sexshops @ 06/15/2007 at 5:24 pm
Apparently, while Angelina Jolie was on a break from filming “Wanted” in Prague, she paid a visit to a local sex shop.
Now comes word from Mike Walker that Jolie may have a remedy. According to the veteran columnist from the National Enquirer she just took a break from filming her new flick “Wanted” in Prague, visited a sex shop called “Erotic City” and purchased two items - a black leather garter belt and (drum roll please) a black riding crop!
Walker muses, “Since Angelina doesn’t ride horses in her movie, this week’s intriguing gossip question is: If the idea is to whip up a little consensual fun, who’s the whip-ee? Or is the crop simply a decorator accessory destined to hang on a wall?”
When you’re with Brad Pitt, why the hell not, right?
Angelina Jolie Reveals Her Future Family Plans
NEW YORK, NY (June 15, 2007) — With Angelina Jolie, you never know exactly where in the world she’s going to turn up or what she’s going to say when she gets there. Last night, the actress made an appearance in New York and the topic of conversation was family.
“I’m great,” she told host Jon Stewart at the “Daily Show.” “I’ve got a big, crazy, happy family and I’m used to chaos and I’m very lucky.”
Stewart asked her how many children she hoped to have.
“It fluctuates between 7 and 13 and 14,” she said.
Stewart noted he had just two children and that was already “kicking his ass.” He told Angelina he admired her wish for a larger family.
“Four’s kind of kicking our ass, but we kind of fell like ‘Damn it! We’re up for the challenge,” she said.
A few channels away, Larry King took a more direct approach.
“Would you adopt again,” the veteran CNN host asked.
“Yeah,” Jolie replied. “Not tomorrow.”
“How about a natural birth again?”
“Yeah, I’d consider it,” she said. “Absolutely.”
Access Hollywood can confirm Angelina is not pregnant, but in an effort to protect the privacy of Angelina and Brad, Jolie’s reps asked some press, (not Access) at the New York “A Mighty Heart” premiere to sign an agreement not to ask personal questions.
“I don’t think I would consider it blocking freedom of press to say, ‘I don’t want to say whether or not I’m pregnant right now,’” Jolie told King.
She also told the CNN host that a relationship is not about having fun together it’s about the desire to create the same thing in life and in family.
“We talk about it often at home – how we’re gonna raise our children . . . We don’t want them to be spoiled and we don’t want them to be attached to things, and we don’t want them to, or take fame seriously, or anything like that, we want them to be good people, like all parents.”
And the Jolie-Pitts seem to have found a grounded place in an ungrounded existence.
“When one of us is working the other is with the kids, when we shot ‘A Mighty Heart,’ he was figuring out fun things in India to do with the children,” Angelina said.
Dear ‘DenialisYOUthinkingYOUareNOTfUGLY’ (228) -
MP was overjoyed enough to stand on a dais beside Angelina, praise her and Brad AND THE FILM, attend the premiere, vacation and spend time with Angie, and her son Mad, Brad and the other children for several days. This woman stabbed her in the back. Who knows, maybe she wants to go swimming in the French Riviera with Adam Pearl and Madd as well. This woman sounds half crazy - she might have been a great help - but perhaps the film shows her true colors as well.
I can’t wait to see it when it opens here!! :smile:
Montserrat @ 06/15/2007 at 5:45 pm
First of all Asra Nomani did not write or assist with the writing of A Mighty Heart. She was Danny’s colleague and best friend at the Wall Street Jounal. The book was written by Mariane and Sarah Crichton.
I am surprised that Asra would voice her opinions in this way. She was not Danny’s wife and Mariane is entitled to tell the story from her point of view.
Perhaps Asra’s bitterness stems from the fact she cannot wash the shame of having an illegitimate child out of her mind. Perhaps she should be looking to Allah for her absolution rather than taking it out on Mariane.
INSIDE EDITION was at the premiere and was not asked to sign the document. In fact, Jolie and Brad Pitt were very open about their lives.
The movie AMH will do as good at the movies and at award seasons like Babel. This movie has an international casts and it is political. It is something that touches everyone across the globe. It has kicked off mightly well at Cannes and all that’s is left is for it to be released.
that's all @ 06/15/2007 at 6:00 pm
I wonder if Angelina Jolie ever regrets her decision to be with Brad Pitt. I mean, I’m sure she would feel guilt for regrets because he is good for the children. He has been horrible for her career and public image. He is a hollywood Pr machine and she doesn’t even have a publicist. He’s too hollywood for her and he never has her back like a real partner would. Hes too worried about his own image and making sure people see him being a daddy.
So are we promoting Asra or we are promoting AMH. Let’s get our focus straight as something sounds fishy here. You don’t need to post her thread.
Just looked at the Splash video of Brad and Mad. You really have to hand it to Brad. He keeps his same stride, eyes front, doing what he wants to do. I’d love the muscle control it must take to keep Mad on his back like that.
263 Montserrat - thanks for the info. So, this is a case of a colleague who wasn’t featured in the movie? Or someone who didn’t realize the movie wasn’t about Danny but Marianne?
If You Read The Book @ 06/15/2007 at 6:03 pm
If you read Marianne’s book, you may remember that towards the end, Asra wanted to make a MickeyD stop on the way to the airport as they were leaving for the US. They were so caught up with the details of their departure, nobody paid much attention to her request and she kinda lost it, screaming and collapsing to the floor “SEEEEEE? Nobody loves me!!” or something to that effect.
For those who’ve read that book, you would get a sense of who Asra is. (not making a judgement of her, just saying the book gives the reader a pretty clear portrait of this woman) This email, assuming she did write it and made it public, is something she might do. I don’t want to say anything unflattering about her because she did have to go through that whole nightmare with Marianne Pearl and stood by her throughout the ordeal. She deserves credit for staying strong for Marianne and never once complaining or saying it really wasn’t her problem. But in my opinion, and my opinion only, she is somewhat vain. Not more so than most women but she is.
Jolie Lawyer Takes Fall for Media Snafu
The Associated Press
Friday, June 15, 2007; 1:36 PM
NEW YORK — Try to control the media? Not me, says Angelina Jolie.
The star of the new film “A Mighty Heart,” about the widow of slain reporter Daniel Pearl and freedom of the press, says her representatives were trying to protect her when they sought to make media outlets sign an agreement not to ask personal questions during interviews.
from my representatives trying to be protective of me, but it was excessive and I wouldn’t have put it out there. But it’s all right and nobody was forced to do it.”
Jolie spoke candidly about her family at the film’s Manhattan premiere on Wednesday. But media outlets seeking one-on-one interviews, including The Associated Press, were asked to sign a legal document banning certain questions and mandating that any story from the interview must be about the movie.
Requests to sign such documents are rare, but on the rise with the increase of tabloid celebrity coverage. The AP declined to sign Jolie’s agreement, yet was still scheduled to interview Jolie on Friday afternoon.
Jolie’s manager, Geyer Kosinski, and a spokeswoman for the Paramount movie studio did not immediately respond to e-mail messages from the AP seeking comment.
Jolie’s lawyer, Robert Offer, told The New York Times that he blamed himself _ a “boneheaded, overzealous lawyer” for the contract and that Jolie was unaware of the action. The document “was drafted overly broadly,” he said. “It was well intended, but I understand how it was received.”
lurker opinion @ 06/15/2007 at 6:13 pm
The woman read the script. If she did not like what she read she should not have agree to get paid as an consultant.
Brad,the director and the other producers will just roll theirs eyes and know this is part of working on a film. Not everyone will be happy.
The real sadness is that this woman betrayed Marianne with this email and thus betrayed DANIEL.
Angelina Jolie Says Contract Wasn’t Her Idea
Angelina Jolie is finding herself in a storm of controversy after reporters were given a document to sign at the premiere of her new movie “A Mighty Heart.” The document demanded that Jolie would not be asked “any questions regarding her personal relationships.”
Ironically, the premiere was held to raise money for the organization “Reporters Without Borders,” which champions freedom of the press. In the movie, she plays the wife of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl.
INSIDE EDITION was at the premiere and was not asked to sign the document. In fact, Jolie and Brad Pitt were very open about their lives.
On “The Daily Show,” Jolie said she knew nothing about the document, saying, “I didn’t put it out there, it was a representative trying to be protective and it shouldn’t have happened.”
Jolie’s lawyer issued a statement taking the blame for drawing up the document, calling it a “bone-headed, overzealous” move on his part.
I’ve already made up my mind to see this movie. Just as haters have made up their minds not to, for the reasons that they cited repeatedly, redundantly, and ignorantly.
The same with MAMS(twice in the theaters); the same with Babel(twice in the theaters); the same with The Good Shepherd; and the same with O13 (twice, so far).
Fcukers always try to tie some moral high ground in order to dissuade moviegoers from going to the movies. But once upon a time, movies were seen as purveyors of immorality anyway, so I’m steeped in sin and damnation because I love them.
And I can’t quit ‘em! :twisted:
the real tita @ 06/15/2007 at 6:21 pm
#185: she probably wanted Aishiwara Rai to portray her and she wanted a bigger part to salve her ego. It was all about Marianne and not her, who should be the real heroine as she was Danny’s chosen protector or whatever part she wants herself to be. Maybe she’s jealous of Marianne as lead or she has hidden feelings for DP.
Maybe they didn’t send a big enough limo for her. If she had any finesse, she would have spoken to Marianne or Brad in person. Her ego is bruised, that’s for sure.
coalharbourqt @ 06/15/2007 at 6:25 pm
I’m a little late in the day getting here, but really love these pics/vids of Brad and Maddox having some father/son time together. I think it’s great that Brad and Angie make a point of getting some one on one time with each of their children, and I have no doubt that the kids really appreciate it. They are so aware that kids can often feel lost in the crowd in a big family and they do everything they can to give each child what they need. These kids are so lucky to have such wonderful parents!
As for ‘that’s all’s supposition that Angie regrets getting involved with Brad? Ahahahahaha! That is the funniest thing I’ve heard all day! It is so obvious that they both feel this is the best decision they have EVER made - to be together and raise their children. As Angie said recently, they took a leap of faith and were fortunate that they turned out to be everything that they thought the other was. What more do you want?
Joy - saw your shout out a couple of threads back, and no, you are NOT just talking to yourself! I can only speak for myself in saying that I love reading all of the fans’ posts here, whether they are young or old, a new poster or an old poster - I don’t discriminate based on someone’s age, their nationality, language, or whether they’ve been here a long time or not. ALL of the fans of the Jolie-Pitt’s have something worthwhile to say and it saddens me when people are made to feel that their opinion is less important (which is exactly how I think Angie would see it too!). And you shouldn’t be discouraged from expressing your opinion just because it doesn’t follow the ’status quo’ of the other fans either. It’s never stopped Angie and it shouldn’t stop you :-) I just wish I had more time to comment to more of you on how much I enjoy all the awesome posts here.
Pax and hugs…
#202: this film critic is saying Angie is so bigger in life than anybody that even if you hide her in a closet and only hear speaking through the keyhole, you’d still be thinking Angie and not the story.
So I wonder what she wants them to do, recast the movie with some unknown so it doesn’t distract anybody. Maybe then she’ll like it and give it an A+?
Huh?
202 EW REVIEW B-
***************************
LOL, AMH is scoring 85% on rottentomatoes.com as of right now. Blame Angelina for that, too!
BTW, want to check the numbers for Jen’s movies on rottentomatoes? I bet you don’t.
To the haters who said MP is not pleased with the movie, I wish I knew how to scan the picture that the LA Times has on today in their Business section for their article on AMH (It’s the same one that Lylian posted yesterday). MP was with BP, AJ, DF at the Cannes Festival and she was all smile. Ear to ear smile. So at least the LA Times readers today could see that she is happy how the movie turned out.
twokids2 hehe @ 06/15/2007 at 11:07 pm
Guys, I am going to bed now, you can be assured that the annoying twokids2 has not been here on this thread yet. Won’t give her the chance. She annoyed me like hell on the last thread.
Good nite.
ENOUGH ALREADY… they’re scaring the kids!!!
AS much as I also enjoy pics of BP & AJ — there should be some serious consideration given to celebs when they are with thier children. Even the British press gave Diana’s sons a break until they were 18. The same courtesy should be extended to celebs.
Unfortunetely, it’s going to take another traffic accident before they take heed.
No wonder celebs hire nanny’s to care for thier kids … a simple father/son turned into sheer maddness.
To bad the photogs don’t “stalk” politicans … our heads would spin at how fast a law could be wriiten (& passed)
The trolls work overtime searching the internet for anything negative about Brad and Angelina. There are a million and one positive reviews, bring them on and let’s celebrate these beautiful strong women - MP and Angie.
You mean Angie. Brad rarely gets bad publicity. Angie ALWAYS gets negative publicity.
Happy Father’s Day to the beautiful one.
I wish paps would give them a lil break. Just taking the kid out for some private time for heaven’s sake.
Brad looks edible. I’ll take him with a cold glass of diet coke and just eat him up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dragonfly | 06/15/2007 at 4:52 pm
Oh please. No movie gets all positive reviews, especially one that hits as many touch points for the media as this one. The reviews have been over-whelmingly positive up to now, so it’s to be expected that a few critics won’t like it. In the end, there will be more raves for it than pans, I’m sure. It certainly won’t bomb, which is breaking the haters wittle hearts! haha!! O13’s success is painful enough for them, so they are ultra bitter, the hags.
Asra’s email is poorly timed and in bad taste, IMHO. She sounds like she is projecting her own feelings of loss onto the film, and I am thinking nothing would have made her happy.
=======
ITA. even Titanic , the biggest and the most successful film of our time didn’t get an all positive reviews. But up to now, Positive reviews of AMH still outnumber the negative one. no matter how the haters scrape the bottom of the barrel, the negative review was really a few.
I watch OC13 with my husband yesterday at our local theater. I think OC13 was better than 11 and 13, so funny and entertaining. and the best threequel in this summer.
Maddox is like ewww, “Papa Brad you smell like poo poo”.
You are so transparent.
Won’t work.
Nomani said, if she did, something like “she didn’t see the ‘real’ DP in the book/the movie” (meaning the book and consequently the movie didn’t do justice to DP as she saw him).
She tried to DISQULIFY, for WHATEVER reason, his wife MP. She OBVIOUSLY couldn’t care less about MP’s feelings, or about who is playing her (except maybe she would prefer that to be some z-list actress!)
In the process, she also blamed the producer.
What a personality!
If she said so, especially NOW, it is weird!
He takes his kids out big deal? why don’t you idots say this nonsense when ben aflack ,Gavin Rosadele, jeniffer garner /she gets pictured almost everyday with her daughter/,Matt damon etc… Why is that a big deal when Brad takes his sons out?
He is a loving dad and he is giving them one on one time. Puls Brad and Angie as much as they can they take there kids from and to school. You just jealous Brad is happy.
oh please @ 06/16/2007 at 6:41 pm
